[SP-F5] Sunbathing continues. ptIII

Allania had once again walked out into the desert earlier that morning. The sun was as unrelenting as ever, its scorching rays trying to blister the backs of any who came unprepared. Though unprepared Allania was not, she had been here a number of times now. It may be many times more hostile that the first floor paradise, but it was welcoming. At least Allania thought so, she'd met just the one player so far who had agreed with her. She was here for two reasons. To gather materials, and to try find a dungeon in which she could delve into.

Just ahead of her Allania could see a group of scorpions. Not wanting to wait, Allania headed towards them immediately.

Allania, dagger in hand, approached the creatures. Hopefully this fight will be unlike the ones yesterday, she thought, her mind wandering from her task. Almost like she was on auto-pilot, Allania walked towards the creatures, side stepping their barbed tails attempts to pierce her flesh. Once again activating her go to sword art, Allania performed her deadly dance, slicing through the carapace of all the scorpions that surrounded them. A perfectly horizontal red line ran through all of them, when she finished her dance.

With a barely perceivable break in her dance, Allania began to spin round and round once again. Though her blades did not trace another red line in the shells of these creatures. They had backed away a pace. That was all it took, the dagger whistling infront of their bead-like eyes. The creatures tried stepping forward once the blade had passed them by, to try and land a strike with with pincers, but every time they got within range the dagger was back again, continuing its laps around the girl. Causing the Scorpions to back off again.

Allania attempted to start her dance again, but the Scoprions would not give her the time. Rushing towards her, Allania faltered in her dance, causing her to go over on one of her ankle and falling to the ground. The pincers of the scorpions slicing the air above her, where moments ago she had stood. That snapped her out of her trance. It was then that the battle became real for her once again. Shaking her head to clear it of the last of her trance, she stood up, enthusiams fully reinstated.

Allania, now fully awake got up. A smile once again on her face. "Let's have some fun shall we?" she asked. Launching herself at the nearest Scorpion she tried to skewer it upon the tip of her dagger. Of course she had to miss, Allania laughed as she drove her dagger into the sand where the creature had once stood. The creature who was now face to face with her. "Oops" she said, a grin on her face once again, as the scorpions around her brought their barbed tails down on her, scraping against the equally nasty barbs on her armour.

Hopping forward from where was crouched, her back arching and extending, Allania brought her dagger down once again to try and kill this one scorpion. Of course it has to step back... again, she thought. Once again crouching in front of the creatures, they struck out again, but this time Allania was ready, rolling to one side and avoiding their barbs, which hit just as uselessly into the sand as her dagger had. At least the fights are fun again, she thought. She was glad she could enjoy these battle again. Even if she could not land a single blow.

Allania stood up, and began to spin, her dagger arcing out with practiced ease. But it was not the cold and efficient way it was earlier, no, Allania was laughing and smiling as she spun. Her will clashing against those of the scorpions around her. And her's had beaten theirs. She stopped her spin as the last of the creatures exploded into pixels, looking down and realising that in her spin they had struck again. She hadn't even noticed. Bending down, Allania picked up the materials and went to find her next fight.

Not a moments respite, but oh well, Allania thought as another group appeared from the sand. She had been a mob magnet yesterday as well. Allania launched herself at them with gusto, spinning in a deadly arc towards them, being struck heavily in the process but that did not deter her. She finished her spin and looked back at the mess of lines that had been drawn upon the carapaces of all the creatures. Not one of them had escaped unharmed. Not even her.

These scorpions are good, she noted as they landed another blow on her. Not once had they activated her thorns. They were very good. Leaping forward again, Allania tried to perform her deadly dance but just tripped over as she moved, falling flat on her face. Rolling over onto her back, looking up at the empty but bright sky, she began to laugh. This was a fun fight, there's no doubt about that. Getting back to her feet, still laughing in joy, she got ready to attack again.

This is more like it, she thought. Leaping at the scorpions, their tails deflecting off her armour, scraping deep gashes in them with its spikes. Having survived their spiked attacks, Allania leapt into the air at them, her dagger spiraling out around her as she cut deep into the scorpions, causing them to explode into their pixelated fragments. Allania had not considered how she would land this maneuver, and as a result went tumbling straight into the sand. Sand which went into her mouth as well as spraying either side of her as she skidded to a halt in it. Leaving quite a trail

Allania decided to take a short break, catching her breath. She began to wander about slowly, letting herself catch her breath. On her travels, Allania spotted something glinting in the sand. Trudging towards it, Allania saw more and more that it looked like a scrap of metal. Oh well, I can use it as a material, she thought. Arriving at the material, Allania sat down and picked at the sand around it, plucking it from the ground. Adding her recently acquired material to her inventory, Allania got up and moved on.

Having just found a material, Allania decided to try and find more in the same way. Thus Allania began to wander about the desert, serching for any materials that she could find lying on the floor. Avoiding groups of creatures more than once, Allania had found herself going up and over many a dune to get away from nearby groups of mobs. I'm not quite ready to fight them, she told herself as she scurried up another dune to escape yet another group of mobs.

Allania continued her travels, not yet wanting to face monsters. Although her energy had fully recovered, her health certainly hadn't. Trundling along through the sand, every so often thinking she had found a material, only to uncover it to be nothing but say a rock. Nothing of real use. Allania decided that she would head towards an oasis, or at least attempt to. Who knows where they are in this desolate desert. With a new aim in her mind, Allania walked with purpose, not knowing which direction to walk , she decided walking in a straight line would be best.

Allania continued to wander through the desert. Scrambling up slopes, sliding down the otherside. At one point, Allania got bored of her journey, thus taking a slight detour to go dune diving. So instead of walking in the rigid straight line, she walked from dune to dune, clambering up to the top, before running and diving off their crest, each time letting out joyous laughter as her legs sunk deep into the sand, the trails that she left were easy to follow. However any trail that she left would soon return to its undisturbed state, the wind removing any trace of inhabitants or even creatures passing through.

As Allania dived from yet another dune, her legs landed in the sand. However, this time they did not sink in like normal, no, it felt like they had hit something hard. Allania stood there for a moment, looking down at the sand, though it quickly began to shift underneath her. The sand falling away to reveal a bright scarlet surface, a surface that was moving. Losing her footing, Allania slid off whatever this thing was. Looking around when she landed, she saw a crab. A huge crab. Larger than any monster she had fought yet. Sat there shocked, the creature lashed out its claw, trying to crush Allania in its grip. Luckily for her, her armour once again protected her from the blow. Sliding from the claw, Allania leapt forward her dagger slicing up the creatures body, being quickly followed by two devastating kicks. Finishing her onslaught Allania backed away, her dagger poised once again to strike.

 Allania dashed forward once again, not giving the crab a moment to recover from her previous strike. Tracing her dagger on the beasts body, Allania stood back and saw the infinity sign she had carved into the creatures hide, it glowing the garish red of a wound. After just a moment, the creature exploded into millions of red pixelated fragments. Allania had been unrelenting in her onslaught of that creature. Picking up the material that it dropped, Allania continued on her way. "It shouldn't have ruined my fun" she mumbled to herself as she walked onwards.

It seemed she needed to have another break, having gone all out on that crab she had depleted all of her energy. Sitting down, panting, Allania tried to steady her breathing. It had been a short fight, but it had been intense. Allania lay down to the ground, sending wafts of sand into the air around her. Looking up she basked in the bright sun of the day. The warmth that it gave was near unbearable to some, but to her it was a welcoming warmth, a welcoming blaze.

It was then that Allania heard a quite little oink. Sitting up, Allania spotted Blaze, her familiar, running towards her. How did he make it up here?, she thought, sure that she had left the creature in her shop on the first floor. Getting up, Allania rushed over to the tiny creature trotting towards her. Crouching down, Allania picked up her tiny familiar, hugging it tightly. "Silly you, you could have easily been killed getting here. I'm just glad you're okay" she said, a smile on her face as she hugged the creature tightly. This beast had been her first real companion in this world.

Feeling her energy fully recover and the last of her wounds disappear, Allania stood up, still holding on to her familiar. She began to wander the desert once again, her search for an oasis renewed. Her familiar must have been out running in here for ages to find her and it must be thirsty. She opted to walk once again in a straight line, searching for shade and water so that her friend could rest. Walking up and down dunes, no longer diving into them as she once did, Allania searched dutifully for an oasis.

As Allania wandered on, carrying her familiar in her arms, she spotted something off in the distance. A cave of some sort. It was no oasis, but it was something, she could shelter there with her familiar, and give it some water from her pack. Heading towards the cave, her feet sinking into the sand as she went. When she entered the cave she felt the cool air on her back, the sun had no sway here. Allania placed her familiar on the floor, letting it jump about in excitement, This was the first adventure they had gone on together, ever since she had tamed it. Taking some water out of her inventory Allania placed it on the floor for Blaze to drink from. Allania stood up and began to look around, this was the first cave she had found in the desert. Heading deeper in, Allania quickly came across an ornately carved door. A dungeon?, she thought, worried for the safety of her little friend here. But her curiosity could not be quenched, not until she had gone in and looked around a bit. Heading back to Blaze, she sat down, psyching herself up for what was about to go on. She was going to solo a dungeon.
