Quick Hunt
<<EaL Re-run>>

The hunter had become restless lately, as the guild kept hunting for only sub-dungeons, and his itch for a good monster hunt was getting the better of him.  He found himself on the sixth floor, a jungle biome that housed some interesting creatures to hunt down.  It would seem that he was going to go it alone, but he was waiting at the stairwell down from the main town entrance.  These treetop villages were something to behold, but not at this moment.  He needed to hunt, but there was someone else that wanted to come with.  Someone that he had faced in a duel at one point, and the same one that had received an uncommon unique item from.

"Where is he?!"

It seemed like a nice enough day, but then again the weather never really changed unless one moved from one floor to the next. With his equipment in check he made his way to the sixth floor and took to wandering through the town until it was time to get to the day's main events. Around their scheduled meet up time he made a casual stroll down the stairwell Hirru had stopped at. "Hey Hirru, how's it going? I'm good to go whenever you are." He'd say while tucking his hands into his pockets. It's not like he had any particular ideas about where they might be doing the hunting, but he supposed that was part of the fun of it.

The hunter wasn't in the mood for chat as the hunt was a foot, and they needed to get downstairs fast.  With a slight grunt, he unhinged himself from the wall that he was leaning on before heading over to Seul.

"Howdy!  No time to explain.  Let's go!"

He said in a quick manner before starting down the stairs in a quickened pace.  It wouldn't take long for them to get to the ground level where the mobs were prominent.  Looking around, it wouldn't take long for him to spot a group of Angry Baboons.  They were known for their heavily territorial aggression.

"Those guys; destroy em."

Rushing in with Solace unsheathed, the hunter garnered the attention and hate of all of the Baboons in the area.  With a quick flash of the blade, the hunter performed a back flip into the mass before slamming his sword into the ground.  Surges of lightning bellowed out from the fissure, and struck four of the eight Baboons.  The others took advantage of his cooldown to inflict a large amount of damage, but Sorrow was able to heal all of that health back in an instant.

Despite the abruptness of the situation, Seul followed along without much complaint. It'd be his first time hunting in the jungle but still exciting nonetheless. The pack of angry baboons that appeared seemed to be the pair's first targets and his suspicions were only confirmed once Hirru began his assault, killing off half of the enemy mobs in the process. "Well... Alright then." Despite none of the monsters dropping any additional loot, Seul was lucky enough to find a material that must have dropped alongside the debris from the hunter's sword art shockwave before joining the battle. There were still quite a few left and with his weapon being completely useless in anything that wasn't 1v1, he wasn't about to waste energy trying to hurt these things. Instead he drew his dagger and rushed to the front while raising his shield to activate the ear-piercing technique Howl, serving as the impromptu tank for the battle.

While the hunter was doing what he normally did, recklessly plow into a large number of enemies knowing he can beat them all, he forgot to consider Seul's strengths.  As a dagger user, he didn't have the variety of sword arts as the hunter did.  This would only become a slightly slower hunt than he thought, but that would slightly change with Seul using his Howl skill.  Something else that the hunter forgot in the running; Seul was a DPS / Tank, or whatever the kids call it these days.  With him drawing the baboons attention, the hunter burst out with a seven hit combo art, which destroyed one of the baboons.  Unfortunately, the commotion from the explosive attack confused the baboons on who to attack.

Maybe hunting just wasn't his thing. In the frantic scene the baboons were causing he figured it'd be a perfect opportunity to strike down another of their ranks. His dagger took on a yellow glow as he rushed forward with the Cross Edge ready, but at the last moment the monsters must have noticed his approach as the closest one dodged and ran up a nearby tree. If the stupid things would just stand still they'd be dead by now, but sometimes life wasn't quite that simple in this world.

The baboons were more evasive than he thought, as Seul wasn't able to catch one of them before they scurried up a tree.  It cackles and cried towards the other two which looked at each other before looking at the hunter and Seul.  One came up to Seul to give him a wallop, but its swing flew past him.  The other one came after the hunter and tried the same thing, but a quick jump backwards would send the attack into the air.  The hunter needed to conserve his energy, so he did not attack for now.

"Why are these things so tough?!" He'd ask while retreating from the baboon. He'd slash out again with his dagger, but of course the monster remained one step ahead and slipped out of range. He could only imagine how ridiculous the whole fight must have looked. Usually fighting shouldn't have been this difficult for him, especially on a floor as low as this and with new gear at his disposal. Still the fates would be against him this day as the creatures would simply exhaust all of his energy by the time he would actually be able to hit!

If there was a time to question ones abilities, now as not the time.  The Angry Baboons were getting more aggressive with each throw of their fists.  Trying to attack them at this point was pointless, so the hunter hung back while he dodged away from the constant barrage of the Baboon that was fighting him.  The other one was trying its best with Seul, but was getting nowhere too.  The one in the tree was still being cautious, but would probably join in, if one of its brothers was killed off.

He had had enough of the constant missing. After the baboon launched its next attack he used his shield to deflect the punch before following up by bashing it on the head with his shield. His dagger took on a purple glow as the sword art charged and soon he was using Shadow Stitch. The knife cut a gash wound open on the baboon's stomach and the two roundhouse kicks that followed were enough to push it over the threshold and into death's sweet embrace as nothing more than pixelated shards.

When Seul extinguished the life of one of the baboons with a stellar attack, that the hunter knew too well, the baboon that hung up from the tree jumped down upon him, but the damage would be minimal as Seul's mitigation and equipment were made to take a hit.  On the hunter's side of the fight, the baboon would have tried to also attack Seul, but he had gained enough energy to perform a second Deadly Sins.  The baboon shattered before it could get all four hands on the ground.

He started laughing now. One point. That was all this monster could manage to do? To make matters even better the holy blessing on his coat kicked in as soon as its fist made contact. Yep, he just couldn't help but laugh. What else was there to do after all? The final baboon was just playing with them now and that was evident by how badly he missed with his next slash. If he had to guess, it'd be pretty safe to say Hirru's energy was spent. He wasn't complaining though. This baboon would be his and his alone to kill! "Hirru stay out of this! A certain mob needs to meet its maker!"

"I'm pretty much spent, anyway.  Go ahead."

The hunter would shout out to the dagger user as the baboon looked between the two trying to figure out what to do next.  It was unsure of itself as the last smack down that it tried failed miserably.  Seul was too much for it, but instinct and aggressive nature wasn't going to let it back down from this challenge.  The dagger user was slow so any attempt at hitting the baboon was coming up empty, so it decided to use its acrobatics to try and jump over Seul's shield and attack his back.

That plan didn't go very well.

No, it did not. The baboon tried to scale him but was met with a rude awakening as he used his shield to throw the mob into the trunk of a nearby tree. The monster's back smacked against it with a loud thud, but of course Seul wasn't done yet. His knife began to glow as he activated another sword art in his arsenal and charged. Infinite; a rank three move he'd use to finish this fight. His dagger bore deep into the baboon's flesh before etching a large infinity symbol as a red gash on its body. It died soon after and was even kind enough to leave behind col in its wake. "FINALLY!"

With the destruction of the final baboon, the fight would end and they were given their respective prizes, which wasn't really much to begin with.  Hunts usually didn't profit off of one bout of fighting, especially if the first bout took a good while.  That would go against the hunters best judgement, as he wasn't thinking about his partners skills while focusing on the hunt.  Usually didn't focus on anything during one, as he was mostly alone during these hunting expeditions.  Going over to Seul, the exhausted hunter looked to the dagger and board wielder with a grin.

"Good hunt!  Sorry bout that.  Forgot that daggers can't perform many multi targeted attacks."

He heaved heavy sighs while gasping for air and hunched over. Looking up at the hunter, he could only shake his head to indicate his initial response. "W-What are you talking about?! I killed two of them on my own! Daggers aren't that bad with fighting multiple targets." Of course this wasn't true, but at least it made him feel slightly better about the fight to say it. Even so, he never took up the path of the dagger to take down armies. Thus far it had done well to protect him in the field and he'd continue to fight with one until the day they were all free. But such thoughts didn't really matter now anyway. "What now?"

With the question of what to do now, the hunter had to think.  His thinking face had him looking to the sky before he started to slowly move his legs.  It wouldn't take very long to figure out where he was going, as he made a complete loop going nowhere.  It wouldn't be too long until he stopped to look to his top left, where his display would be, and then he continued to walk around in a tight circle.  It would take several minutes before the hunter finally stopped to look at Seul and say.

"Relax, and probably go back to town.  I'm useless without any energy, but you're pretty good.  If you want to take out some mobs while I get my energy back, then that is fine too."

Seul shrugged at the notion of going into another fight, but it would seem he wouldn't have much of a choice in the matter. From the trees came something... Monstrous. A baboon, but not one like the others. It was three times the size of the others and wore a tiny crown on its head. He squinted at the health bar near the creature to read its name: Baboon King. "Now that's something worth hunting!" This was it; his chance to take down the leader of these stupid things. Getting the first hit would mean everything and so he rushed forward with his shield raised and used Cross Edge to cut into the monster's skin. Using one of its large fists, the king launched a punch that sent Seul skidding backwards. "Ahahahaha!"

It came out of nowhere, which was what the jungle was meant for, to conceal predators and prey to continue the natural selection of the world.  Unfortunately, the addition of humanity would disrupt that by a margin.  The Baboon King erupted from the shadows upon him with the most comical of attire, a crown.  The hunter wouldn't object to Seul taking this one out, as his energy was depleted to the point that it wouldn't matter.  Not being able to hunt that beast, though, was kind of saddening.  That was, until the hunter noticed that his energy shot up back to full.  He simply shrugged, and continued to watch.

"You got this."

Unfortunately the same trick wouldn't work twice. The Baboon King saw through Seul's Cross Edge this time around and jumped out of the way as the knight approached, only to respond with its own kick to the player's gut. He fell into the mud, his health taking a massive toll despite having the healing enhancement on his armor. "Now might be a good time to step in-?" He'd say while looking up at the hunter from his lying on the ground on his back. Each hit sustained made the fight increasingly less enjoyable.
