{PP-F1} First Impressions are Most Important -Morgenstern and Myself-

Recommended Posts

Domarus heard Jonathan's comment and saw out of the corner of his eyes a golden aura.  Heh.  Of course it was opposite of Domarus'.  The guy was a literal knight in shining armor while Domarus was in truth a mastermind who intended on ruling a good amount of players in Aincrad.  With his skills in manipulation, Mari's potions, and the power he would gain as well as future follower's own influence, he would have no issues whatsoever achieving his goals.  When Jonathan spoke up Domarus raised a hand, halting both the player and the boar.

"No!  Not yet!  Let's see how long this overaged, rotting carcass of pork chops and I can fight before I need your help!"  The boar had been confused but stopped when Domarus raised his hand in such a fashion to stop the other player from helping him.  Was it arrogance?  Anger?  The boar didn't know as it's brain was about as small as a pinhead.  However it did know when it was being insulted.  The monster once again went into a raging fit and charged the player.  Domarus refocused his attention and flourished his weapon before charging the creature.  The boar tried to confuse Domarus this round by moving around in no particular pattern but Domarus didn't follow it.  He stared straight ahead and allowed the boar to remain in the overall section of his vision.  When the boar was close enough it would charge for real.  And soon enough it did.  It stopped the pattern and tried to lunge at him from the left and he swung his weapon to slash at it's belly, drawing a loud screech of pain as it flew through the air behind him.  He turned around and lunged at it again but it scrambled to it's feet and ran away from him.  He didn't bother chasing the monster as he needed to recover his energy.

Jonathan stood still, watching as the battle raged on, both sides fighting brilliatly. At least Domarus was. To his offer of help, he put out a hand preventing him from fighting the boar. The man wanted his monies and loot from it. Jonathan sighed and sheathed his blade. His aura faded as it was sheathed. Jonathan was getting restlessly BOARed. He watched as the boar moved around aimlessly. Was it trying to confuse the man? Quickly it shifted gears and charged forward, but Domarus was not deceived and managed to slashed the underbelly of the boar. The boar squaled and ran off, but Domarus made no chase. He seemed to want to conserve his energy before obliterating his enemy. Jonathan watched happily. The battle looked quite even. The boar had the damage and mitigation advantage, but Domarus had the use of skills and had a human mind, not a list of set things to do. So it seemed the battle was going quite smoothly.

OOC- Domarus is foregoing an action to regenerate energy.

The monster kept running, assuming the player was still on it's tiny tail.  It's eyes were wide with panic until it noticed something.  The player had barely done any damage in the last few attacks.  It realized that the player could only use so many strong attacks and turned around, it's confidence rising once again.  However it stopped after turning around as the player had stopped not long after it had began running, therefore creating a large space in between them.  Somehow the boar was able to see the player cock an eyebrow as his ax rested on his shoulder.  The guy not only looked bored, but he seemed to be mocking the boar's intelligence.  The boar was silent and unmoving for a moment before suddenly bursting with rage and charging Domarus.  As the player watched the monster approach he decided not to attack the boar and instead save up his energy for another sword art that would finish the monster off once and for all.  So as the monster made it's way over he threw the weapon into a very thick tree, allowing it to stay there and turned to the boar.  At the last second he spun out of it's way and as the boar came around again he spun away again, using the most minimum body movements he could to dodge the creature.  He may be bored and frustrated, but he was patient.  That came from years of mastering persuasion and manipulation.  It was a skill he was very much proud of.  And when the time was right he would make the boar pay the price.

Jonathan watched as Domarus stood, appearing to be mocking the boar. He made no attempt in damaging it. Instead he waited for the boar to charge, before he threw his axe into a tree and sidestepped the attack, having the boar barrel past him. As the boar ran at Him Jonathan kicekd it back to Domarus and backed into the fight. Domarus appeared to be saving up his energy. It was smart, but would most likely end up using the same amount of energy. Jonathan sighed as he was definenltly bored as well. Part of the reason he chose tank as role, was the fact he hated the sidelines. He thought of his guild for a second. He knew this character would most definently have no interest in his guild. There was no reason for him to even ask the shady character. Jonathan tapped his shield and watched it fade. It would reappear instantly if he were to return to combat.

OOC- So all of a sudden Domarus appears shady eh?  Do share what Jonathan is able to see past his mastered disguise.  Foregoing attack again

Domarus evaded the boar again and again, driving it further to aggravation.  The monster charged recklessly over and over again, and at this point Domarus placed his hands in his pockets.  He saw the other player becoming extremely bored and mentally grinned as he decided this would be an excellent practice in patience for the man.  Domarus would dodge out of the way just in time, feeling the wind of the force of the boar.  If it had more common sense it could have channeled that anger and aimed better, possibly landing another crit.  As it was the thing was stupid and when it came for him again he moved out of the way, allowing it to run into a tree again.  However this time the trunk of the tree cracked and the large structure slowly started to fall down and the boar and Domarus stared at it for a little bit.  A few seconds after the tree stopped moving after contact it shattered into pieces.  The boar looked at him as if to say 'your fault'.  Domarus shrugged that he didn't care and the boar charged him again.  Domarus rolled his eyes as the thing would never learn and grabbed it's tusks with his bare hands.  Once again it appeared dazed before looking up at him.  Domarus' face was expressionless as he tossed the monster onto the other side of the field where it proceeded to wander around looking like it was drunk even though it was just dizzy.  He felt his energy replenish.  He just needed a good solid chance is all.

Jonathan watched as Domarus dodged the Boar many times running the boar ran into a tree again and again. It was a tad bit amusing but not enough to surpass his boredom that was everlasting. Combat was Jonathan's thing, and he had been prohibited from entering it. At least the man was getting some good experience.  Jonathan picked a flower off the ground and began to pluck its petals. The player held himself on hold to regather even more energy. He was waiting for enough energy to regenerate for him to annihilate the boar with one solid hit. Jonathan plucked the flower in half and threw the pieces onto the ground. Jonathan wathed as the player backed up. How much energy did he need exactly? Hopefully he had enough now. Now he just needed to smash it into the ground, and into the pixels in which the creature was created from. Just one solid hit was all that was needed.

OOC-  Oh?  Well then I'll need to have him work on his combat just a little until he gets some followers.  Heh heh

Domarus knew he had the energy now.  All he needed was a good shot to crit this sucker with his sword art and finish it off.  However that was easier said than done.  The monster may be an idiot and the worst fighter he had ever seen but currently all of it's stats besides health were stronger.  Though health wasn't nearly as good as MIT it seemed.  If the boar's MIT wasn't so high he could one shot it here and now.  Unfortunately that wouldn't happen.  Still, if he missed his energy would be lost and his chance gone.  He began to think as this was of course, a gambling game.  He could either strike the boar now and work off the last bit of health bit by bit, or take a chance.  However Domarus didn't feel like taking a chance like this in front of this stronger player.  It might seem like an idiot move for someone of his level.  Therefore there was only one thing left to do.  He slid the ax from the tree, it's pulsing glow emanating once in his hands.  The boar narrowed it's eyes as it knew the player was done taunting him and wished to end this game of theirs.  It scratched the ground with it's hoof while Domarus strode over at an even pace, his weapon relaxed in his hands.  The feeling it gave him.  To know he was in control.  It was wonderful.  He saw the monster charge and decided to let this fight get interesting by letting it hit him.  As it's tusk grazed his right arm, he swung the blade like lightning, engulfed in a black aura from his sword art, and knocked the boar into another tree, snapping the trunk and watched the tree fall onto the boar before shattering.  Now the boar was pissed and wasn't going to stand for any funny business.  This is where the climax came in.

Jonathan waited and watched Domarus's energy rised a bit more. The tiny blue meter was rather low, but ready for a low leveled sword art. It was a risky gamble to wait. If the wrong move was made, the Energy would vanish once again and the battle would become much longer. The man took the chance though, bringing back the action. Jonathan smiled as the action came back, and Domarus, smashed his axe into the boar, bringing its health down to red. The Boar, returned the attack bringing Domarus down to yellow which made Jonathan shift uneasily. Jonathan had to admire, the confidence and determination of Domarus. Jonathan stood, as the battle met its climax, its point where the final blow would count. Domarus, did not have enough base damage to break through the Boars Mitigation, so the battle would become long again. Jonathan sighed. Would there perhaps be more waiting? Or would Domarus cut the boars health down bit by bit now.

OOC- Foregoing an action

Domarus watched the boar struggle to escape the branch of the tree for a while before it shattered.  The monster struggled to it's feet, looking all around wildly for Domarus until it locked eyes on him.  He just stood there and stared at it waiting for it's move.  Surprisingly the boar didn't charge.  It stood there staring for a moment and began to slowly circle Domarus.  Confused and shocked Domarus joined the boar in it's circling.  They stared down at each other, both considering what the other might do.  The boar was pissed yes but it had finally fallen into low health or the red zone, meaning that it would now work on different functions.  The boar was calculating Domarus' previous actions, his current stance and movements now, and was attempting to decipher what Domarus would do next.  Domarus was similarly processing through most of the possibilities that the boar could attempt.  Domarus came out with multiple paths:  Deception where it fainted an attack only to strike a different way, and depending on how smart the game gave this AI in red health would determine how well the deception was pulled off.  Another was a simple charge hoping Domarus would be expecting something else.  As he went through possibilities the boar did something similar.

Jonathan watched as Domarus circled with the boar, deciding what move to make next. It was possible for Domarus to bide his energy again, but with the boar so low on health, missing was too much of a risk. Jonathan stood, shifting his weight from side to side, clearly bored. At least he is not scared of his own shadow... Most other players would not even dare to touch their blade at this low of a level. This man is strong and confident, and ready to fight.  Jonathan watched the enemies fighting brutally to the death. They seemed to be analyzing each other deciding what to do next. It was much possible they would do this a bit longer, but he had a feeling Domarus would come out victorius even though the boar was quite strong for its level. It was getting harder everyday to solo, and it felt like it was just going to keep getting that way.

OOC- Man, I'm not having good luck.  Foregoing another turn

Domarus and the boar finally charged.  The boar leaped at Domarus and he slid to his knees, bending his back behind him so that he could avoid the attack.  When the boar landed it turned sharply and lashed it's tusks out at Domarus while he in turn swung his battle ax at the monster, deflecting it's tusks with the blade.  The monster continued to strike at Domarus and he continued to swing his battle ax in circles, deflecting it's attacks with amazing speed.  It would have looked more impressive if the opponent was wielding a sword instead of tusks but he didn't care at this point.  The battle was getting heated and the monster was obviously more intelligent than he gave it credit for.  It even tried to pull off a maneuver that he'd expect from a player, attempting to position it's tusks in a way to grab and yank his battle ax from his hands but he pushed the handle forward and spun it so the butt of his weapon hit the monster and it fell back for half a second before charging in again.  His weapon spun faster and faster and his face constricted with concentration, a soft growl emanating from him as he attempted to force his way past his opponent's attacks and land another hit.  It may be getting heated but he was about to end this once and for all.

Jonathan watched as Domarus, dodged his way out of another attack but made no attempt to attack. Every second the boar inceased its anger, its power. Its AI rising at alarming speeds. Domarus seemed to know what he was doing although. He would not be able to stall for much longer. Pretty soon the boar would be at miniboss AI levels. It seemed to be learning Domarus's moved and had no sign of stopping. Jonathan smiled as he watched the battle. Domarus seemed to to be saving his energy for yet another devastating blow. Jonathan pulled his sword out once more to examine it. Admiring the craftsman ship.

Domarus was done retreating.  His energy was up now and now all he needed was an opening.  His mind couldn't concentrate on defending and attacking at the same time however.  He knew what he needed to do.  He stops spinning his blade to deflect the monster and with it moving so fast and not expecting a move like this, it slashes it's tusks hard at him, dealing ten points of damage and flying out behind him, shocked and finding it hard to slow down.  As it did Domarus gripped his ax tightly as the red glow once again mixed with the black aura of his sword art.  By the time the boar turned around it noticed that Domarus seemed different.  He dropped the bored or concentrated act.  He seemed taller.  Stronger.  The red and black aura seemed to grow to the man's body according to the boar's eyes.  And on his face.  Was a grin.  This was the appearance Domarus had when he was certain of victory.  He knew without a doubt he would come out victorious.  He had this appearance in the school after his victory against the bullies.  He had this appearance after he took control of a small company.  And he'd wear this appearance because he was strong.  Strong enough to handle mobs alone.  All he needed was some armor to prevent the slight chance of death when he was soloing.  He began to slowly spin his ax, slowly building up momentum.  The boar wasn't angry or confident now.  In fact it took a step back.  Domarus began to step forward, speeding up his ax a little.  The boar took several more steps back.  Domarus suddenly broke into a charge, his ax spinning so fast it could barely be seen.  The boar squealed and turned around but before it could take a step he released his sword art, sending it crashing down on the mob so hard and fast, that it cracked the very ground and the shockwave forged a small crater creating an explosion of sound.  As the loot menu popped up Domarus accepted it and grinned at his friend.

"Well that took longer than expected!"

Jonathan grinned as the battle heightened again allowing for Jonathan to get excited. The boar charged but did,'t get far. Domarus slammed it backward, and the mob tried to run as the man came barreling at it. He finished it off, slamming his axe into it. The boar shattered as it was slammed from existence. Jonathan watched as Domarus recieved his well earned col. Jonathan smiled as he walked forward. Well then, that was a quite the show, but I figure the boar had no chance. Jonathan smiled, and then realized his sword still remain unsheathed. H sheathed it and then returned his gaze to Domarus. Now what should we do now? We should really spend the rest of the day doin something....

Domarus had killed his first monster all by himself.  He had received a good amount of col and two materials.  He was feeling the adrenaline rush fade away but the feeling of being in power remained.  He grinned widely at his friend as he asked what they should do and gave a friendly slap on his shoulder.  He wasn't sure about how Jonathan felt, but Domarus was in for a little celebration.

"How about a drink eh?  I'd say I'd earned it, and I want to celebrate on getting a new friend as well!  Come on, it'll be fun!"  As they headed back Domarus wondered for the second time in this game if it were possible to get drunk at all.  Even if it was he had no problem or nothing to fear.  In the real world as soon as he was of age he managed to make his body more and more resilient to alcohol until he was pretty much immune to it's effects.  Therefore he could invite his quote unquote 'friends' to bars or parties and have some 'fun' but when they began to get drunk he would act like he was as well, but in reality he was asking questions.  Questions they would now answer.  It was sort of an interrogation of sorts that did not involve anything harmful whatsoever, and it was the one he most enjoyed since they looked ridiculous doing it.  He hoped that was how he could get information here as he would otherwise have to resort to other means.  Esther did provide one peaceful alternative however, as she was naturally nosy and seemed to be able to get information out of anyone.  If he set up the scenario and peeked her curiosity he would get the information he needed.  The two walked into the bar and Domarus took a seat ordering their best drink.

"So you pretty much know everything about me.  At least as far as the game is concerned.  I'm still new and I'm training like hell to get to the frontlines.  I want to be a dps with heavy armor so I can still solo to some extent.  I'm not part of a guild of course, as I don't know what guilds there are out there.  How about you?  You haven't really told me anything except 'go kill that boar'" he finished with a chuckle.  In truth he was still a bit upset about that but he couldn't reveal that without revealing his true personality.  The bartender placed his drink in front of him and he thanked the man.  Hopefully this would go smoothly.

OOC You could have just asked my character. He is an open book

Jonathan watched as Domarus seemed overjoyed for killing the enemy and decided to bring him to celebrate and offered to take him to have a drink. Jonathan smiled. Well, I am techincally not of drinking age, but I guess there is no laws in this game. Jonathan walked forward and into the bar. He watched as Domarus ordered something, and Jonathan decided to get the same as well. Then Domarus began to ask him a few questions as he took a sip of the drink. It was cold, and it eventually gave him a headache, but he didn't want to disappoint Domarus. About me? Well I am personally most of a Tank, but I plant to be give off quite a hit... With certain skills in I will end up being practically invincible. About a guild... I am the Founder of a guild called Celestial Ascendants. We are a small guild that its Main goal is to rise others players level and strength. It is starting to increase its numbers fast though. As long as no Player Killer comes sticking their nose in I will be good. Though after I become strong I will eliminate most of them... Jonathan sat and stared. His headache was beginning to hurt.

OOC- Ah, but Domarus doesn't know that does he?  He's cautious as well and not one to just risk something so suddenly

Domarus watched as Jonathan took a drink and struggled not to laugh lightly as it was obviously his first time taking a sip of it.  Jonathan began talking to him about how he wanted to be a full on tank but be able to make a decent hit.  He also mentioned how he'd be invincible at that stage and Domarus grinned.

"Well what do you know.  I'm aiming for the same thing except reversed:  I want to deal the most damage in this game than any other player and yet be able to take a good amount of damage as well.  You want to be invincible eh?  I want to be unstoppable.  Heh, quite a team we'd make don't you think?"  Indeed he thought as he took another drink.  This player had the strong potential of being the general he needed.  He already had a potential dps general, and Alisa seemed to be leaning between dps and scout, so all he needed was a tank and a healer to sway to his side.  This player was suspicious at first but then again most people usually were.  Domarus had been lucky when he first entered the game.  This was no different than the real world.  He'd need to befriend him, learn his secrets, and exploit them so as to change the player's mind.  Then the player talked about a guild he had founded and Domarus focused his attention once more.

"You have a guild?  What rules do you follow?  Are there ranks or jobs?  And..  Wait, was that the reason you came to me?"  Domarus asked.  Domarus hadn't been interested in joining a guild at any rate, but the more he thought about it this guild might help him get the col and experience points he needed.  Domarus figured he needed more col than experience at the moment as he was shooting for one hundred and fifty thousand but that was a far distance and he'd need help getting there.  Then something else snagged his attention.  Hunting down player killers.  To this Domarus paused his drinking and looked at his friend.  So he was one of those people eh?  He finished his glass and let out a sigh before putting it down.

"Let me ask you this:  If you actually manage to hunt down and kill all the player killers, what makes you think that more won't rise up?  Believe it or not player killers have families and friends, if not in this world then in the real one.  No matter your reason for killing them, unless out of self defense, their friends and families won't rest until they see you dead as well.  That's how violence works my friend.  Even if you are invincible here you won't be in the real world.  So if you truly want to kill people in this world I suggest you hide your identity, otherwise you'll be in danger in the real world.  That's the way murder works.  It goes around and around."

Jonathan took another sip, his eyes wincing. He set down the glass which was immediately filled back up for some reason. Domarus said something about becoming unstoppable but Jonathan took no notice to it. His headache was beginning to cloud his thoughts. My... Hic... Guild? Not really any rules other then listen to commanders and no killing... Hic... Eachother. Yes there are Ranks... There are Paladin's Sentinels and Apprentices. So far there is not many people but quite a few incoming. So the four Paladin's play four major roles. The Tank is... Hic... me. Scout is Itzal. Healer is Kasier. And finally our Damage Dealer... Hic... Is Alisa. For your final question answer is Yes. My job in this game is to help players better themselves. HIC! Jonathan took another sip of his drink. His starting to feel kind of weird. Then He began to talk of the Murder cycle. Talking about how it will go to the real world. Or, I could possibly... Hic... remain known, then secretly do it... I am only going to kill the most active ones... They are the most threat, because they are the current frontliners....

Domarus cocked an eyebrow at Jonathan at the first hiccup.  This player was getting drunk already?  This was all too easy he thought.  However it was possible to remember certain memories after a hangover.  That's why Domarus was usually discrete in his interrogations and acted like he was drunk too.  However it was way too soon for him to play drunk yet.  So he simple gave off a light laugh at the player and shook his head before listening to him.  Domarus heard the three ranks, being Paladin, Sentinel and Apprentice.  He then heard the four paladins:  Jonathan being the tank paladin, this Itzal character being the scout paladin, a girl named Kasier being the healer paladin, and...  Alisa.  Alisa was the dps paladin.  As it so happened Alisa was one of his potential generals and he needed to spend more time with her anyways.  And this guild could lead him to some proper loot, gear and experience.  Once Alisa was fully swayed, and once the guid exceeded it's usefulness, he'd simply leave and convince Alisa to follow suit.  Since Jonathan was a bit drunk, and since he already seemed to have a good view on Domarus now, he made his move.

"Hmm.  Well I don't know much about this game and I need some friends.  You mind if I ask to join your guild?  I'd love to try hanging out with you and your friends more!"  That's it.  The bomb was dropped.  And it was the perfect moment as well.  If Jonathan declined in this situation he could simply have Alisa help get him into the guild and after he was he'd let them know that he wanted to be a dps, therefore he would be trained by Alisa.  It was the perfect plan and nothing Jonathan could do could stop it.  He then heard Jonathan talk about only going after the most active ones.  He didn't bother arguing with this since the player was getting more and more drunk, and he seemed to have his mind set so Domarus simply shrugged.

Jonathan laughed. His mid seemed to be missing from his head. e set his drink out on the table. It was hard to think as his head was light and foggy, but he still made out things pretty clear. They just did not come out that clear. He looked around. His vision had been quite bad. Everything was in a blur. Wow... Man what is goin.. On? This is really an in game effect? Jonathan looked around and then refocused as much as he possibly could to his friend. The man's face turned to a sneer which confused Jonathan but made no sense to him what so ever. He requested to join the guild. Jonathan's face turned into a face of deep thought, as he was confused for a slight second. This player wanted to join the guild? He would have to be in Alisa's division. Jonathan shrugged. Well, I can most li...likely arrange that. I will discuss with Itz.. Itzal. He in fact been with me from the beginning. Trained Alisa. AS for fr... Friends, It will be cool. That can be arranged, as long as you don't cleave them in two, Eh? Jonathan laughed at his joke. He looked around and noticeda status under his health bar. <<Alcoholic>> was there. Boggles the mid, and reduces vision. Can be reduced by the consumption of water. Time Remaining 8:38, 8:37... So this is a status effect? Jonathan looked around, seeing if he could make out anything else.
