(PP-F1) Celestial Ascendant Initiation (Birdie)

Recommended Posts

Jonathan turned his head as he heard his partner for the day to speak. She agreed to end the material hunting there and get to the combat. Jonathan sighed and nodded his head. It had been pretty long. He suspected that they would have five by now. He sighed and began to walk away from his ally, when he heard her say that at least she had found one. Confused, Jonathan turned to see that Birdie held a solid material in her hand which faded as it moved to her inventory. Jonathan raised an eyebrow in confusion. Where did she get that? I never seen her find one. That's good though. We made progress. Jonathan's confusion turned into a smile and he raised his hand and rested it on the girl's bright blue hair. Good job. Well move onto combat. I can already see now that you will be an excellent player, whatever role you play. I am glad to have been the one who initiated you. Jonathan turned and move towards the fields. He knew of a certain place that held stronger enemies that opened up after the players had cleared the tenth floor. The dead plains, would be suitable for this occasion.

As they arrived Jonathan surveyed the scene. In this area, all of the plants were dead, and have decayed to a black or dark brown. Jonathan searched. They should find one of the Bone Tribe warriors soon. He waited for a second, telling Birdie to pause. He heard a rustle, and a skeleton with a single iron sword engaged them. Jonathan took these guys too easy the first time he had fought them. They were much stronger than they looked, especially as they moved farther in. Which they would not be doing any time soon. Jonathan pulled out his weapons, and let out a great <<Howl>> Gathering the attention of his enemy, and allowing Birdie to safely make an attack as the creature approached.

Birdie's little heart warmed from Jonathon's kind words, returning a smile of equal grace as she walked alongside her Initiator. 'At least I did something right today,' she thought to herself with a quiet laugh, and she scanned the field ahead as they moved into a new area.

"The Dead Plains?" She whispered confusedly, "I've never seen this place before.." With the storm clearing up she was able to see a little further ahead, and her eyes came across the dead landscape that lied ahead. 'Well this certainly feels out of place- what if a low level player wanders strays too far from the city?' Disrupting her thoughts, she listened to Jonathon and froze on the spot, wearily watching out for whatever he'd stopped her for.

"Ooh.." A skeleton burst out of a bush and stood in their path, and before the Bone Warrior could make any moves, she heard Jonathon howl to garner their foe's attention. Birdie's sword materialised around her waist and she pulled it from its sheath, holding it straight and pointing towards their foe. "Thanks," she hushed to Jonathon, beaming him a light smile before preparing to strike.

The sword art <<Quadruple Pain>> activated and the combat system guided her actions, feet kicking against the ground as she advanced toward her foe. A slight misstep caused her sword to dip down, granting the skeleton enough time to dash out of her attack. "Wah?!" she blurted, twisting on the spot as she stood on the opposite side of the fight to Jonathon.

Jonathan watched the Skeleton advance on him, raising its blade to strike. He heard steps behind. He was not sure if it was Birdie or the Skeleton. In a flash of blue hair, Birdie rushed past him, striking at the skeleton. She missed by inches, and spun and ended up on the other side of the Skeleton. The skeleton, looked at her for a second, but the began to charge him. Jonathan smiled before charging. Fighting was his stronger sport. He pointed his sword forward before dashing forward. His enemy rose its sword, bringing it down at Jonathan. Jonathan blocked, taking a bit of damage, but Jonathan struck forward. As his blade came close, his enemy blocked easily. Jonathan backed up, bringing the Skeleton forth with him. We got this Birdie fight hard and strong and this will get through quite quickly. Jonathan yelled to her, trying to reassure the girl. She could easily attack from behind and land a hit easily. His shield began to glow healing his wounds just with barely enough to completely restock him. The Skeleton had been damaged by his thorns if only barely.

'Easy. The Skeleton was in an easy spot; there was no doubt in her mind that she could land a hit this time. 'Steady hand, strike at the last second,' she reminded herself, the girl's eyes centring around @Morgenstern and their enemy.

"O-okay!" The shouting caused her to jump on the spot, though, she calmed down quickly, knowing what was expected of her. She raised her sword, one foot inching slightly ahead the other.

Springing into action, she charged for the enemy; what seemed to be an easy strike took a turn for the worse when she caught her foot on a loose vine that stuck out from the ground. Birdie fell in an arc, landing face-first in the dirt. "Oof!" cried the girl, her arms barely absorbing the impact. "Damn it.." she muttered under her breath, looking to Jonathon with despair in her eyes. "I'm s-sorry," were the only words she managed to choke out, wiping wet mud away from her cheeks with the end of her sleeve.

OOC- Why do the Dice hate us?

As the Skeleton advanced, Birdie came from in behind attacking. She missed once more, but that was a bummer. She landed on the ground, getting a bit of mud on her. She gave him a look of despair, as he looked her. Jonathan smiled at her and then returned his gaze to his oncoming enemy. His smile faded and Jonathan moved in preparing to strike. He swiped his blade forward, which was quickly blocked by the skeleton. Jonathan growled, as the Skeleton withdrew and returned to its battle formation. Jonathan heard a chatter as the skeleton tried some kind of communication, but Jonathan had no understanding. He guessed it meant that It was going to kill him. Jonathan smiled and moved and helped Birdie up, brushing the mud off of her face. You have got this. Your target is the head, you don't want your blade to go through the bones. Jonathan returned his attention. They had no luck this day. Perhaps it is just the rain.

Birdie stood up from the ground, holding her head in a hand as a small headache settled in. 'Let's keep an eye on the floor too..' she thought to herself, her attention shifting back to Jonathon as she heard him speak.

"Go for the head," Birdie repeated, readjusting the grip she held on her sword. The Skeleton was focused solely on Jonathon- she took advantage of her position and pointed the weapon forwards, activating the <<Quadruple Pain>> sword art whilst the combat system assisted her actions.

The blade became enveloped in a stream of bright purple light. She charged for the enemy, no hesitation in her movements. Birdie lunged forwards, piercing the back of the Skeleton's head. "Got you!" Wide-eyed, she pulled her weapon backwards and dashed out of the way of the enemy's attack range, keeping the point of her weapon aimed at the assailant.

Jonathan watched as the girl seemed to begin to focus on her enemy. She charged forward striking the opponents head, and making a rather big score on its health. Nicely done! Now that on of us has hit, the rest will go rather smoothly! Jonathan focused on the oncoming skeleton. Jonathan held his sword forward dashing up with brilliant speed. Focus. I got this. Jonathan blocked an incoming attack before leaping to the side and truning slashing his enemy. From here he frenzied striking a total of six more times quickly. He heard a chatter from his enemy, which brought up its sword slashing down at Jonathan. Jonathan got back bringing the skeleton forth, and giving his shield time to heal him completely. Yeah! Let's ride this train of momentum! You got this Birdie! This is starting to get better. Maybe we will be done quicker than i expected. He stood in a defensive position.

Birdie flinched as Jonathon took a clean hit from the Skeleton, eyes glancing to the tank's health bar in the corner of her HUD. However, what little damage he took was soon healed; the girl blinked, staring in confusion. 'Must be a healing enhancement..' she thought, bringing her attention back to the fight.

She charged up another sword art and sprung into action, slashing the Skeleton's bony back with her blade. She wailed on the assailant, unleashing five more attacks aimed both high and low before finishing with a final swing, disjointing the Skeleton's free arm from its body. "Ouch," she blurted from under her breath, bringing her sword back down to her side.

Birdie backed out before the enemy had time to react, breathing steadily as she turned to @Morgenstern. "Alright, he's weak!" With the Skeleton's disembodied arm lying lifeless on the floor, she felt a surge of confidence course through her entire body and mind. "Let's finish him off!"

Jonathan watched as Birdie attack again, stabbing ferociously at that skeleton. She managed a good strike, that broke off the skeleton's arm leaving it lifeless at the ground. The skeleton turned giving the woman a look like, What the heck was that for. It stared at its hand for a second, which began to move again reattaching itself. Jonathan shrugged before advancing. If everything went well, he could have this skeleton dead really quick. Jonathan smiled before dashing forward, aimed at the enemy. Jonathan slashed forward, being blocked by the skeleton. It held its sword with both hands now, as they came into a locked fighting position. Jonathan smiled, before pushing away, creating gusts of wind on either side. Well he is not going to let me hit him again is he? Jonathan observed around, seeing sparks from blade against blade, and a few red shards from Jonathan being hit. Luckily they were almost finished with this guy. If they were both able to hit, it would be great.

"Gah- what the hell?!" The girl shrieked and jumped a few feet back as the Skeleton's arm animated, moving freely as it began to reattach to the body. Her sword fell to the ground with a clang and Birdie scurried to her knees, picking the weapon up in haste.

Shielding her eyes, she gripped the handle of her rapier tightly as both Jonathon and the Skeleton became locked in a death stare. 'Now's my chance.'

Birdie ran full-force towards the Skeleton, barely dashing away from a swing of the enemy's iron sword. Her feet danced for a moment as she readjusted her stance, finally lunging towards the Skeleton's head with a fierce strike. Watching it's health bar drain, she pulled her sword away and ducked under another swing, before jumping away from the assailant and landing next to Jonathon. She tried to hold her sword up but had to let it hang by her side, and she glanced sidelong to @Morgenstern. She nodded gently, 'He can do this.'

Jonathan laughed as the girl shrieked from the skeleton putting itself back together. You'll get used to it, I fight skeleton's all the time. Jonathan pointed his blade at the skeleton distracting it as Birdie attacked, striking bringing it to the red zone. Just you and me now buddy. Jonathan smiled before charging forward, going on the offensive fighting in a frenzy. Batting away his opponent's sword, Jonathan brought his blade above the enemy, bringing it down. This is it. Jonathan smited his blade down, cutting his opponent in half. Jonathan smiled and sheathed his blade. There did not seem to be any loot sadly. Jonathan sighed and looked to his ally. Nice teamwork. You are an excellent fighter, and I think you will be a great Scout with a little more work. I believe Itzal will love to have you. Now we could call it a day, or we could fight another skeleton and try to get loot.

The tank's blade sawed the Skeleton in half, soon causing it to explode into thousands of tiny particles. Birdie heaved a breath of relief, sheathing her blade calmly. "Thank god.." Jonathon's voice caught her attention and she gazed towards him, a smile hitting her lips instantly. "Thank you! Sorry about my gathering skills not working out so well today- I'm looking forward to my training with Itzal, though." The second part of his question caught Birdie off guard a little; did she want to fight another mob?

"I think I might have to miss out on any more fighting- to be honest, I feel like hopping in the shower and getting all of this dirt off." She wiped some mud from her knees, though all that managed to do was smudge it a bit. She sighed, rolling her eyes lightheartedly before she looked to Jonathon once more. "So, does that conclude the initiation?" She brought her hands together and smiled hopefully, "D-did I pass?!"

OOC: Try to keep it going a few more posts so we can get 2 SP

Jonathan turned and smiled at his initiate. She seemed relieved that the skeleton fight was over. He chuckled before looking onward. This place really was a good place to get a few mobs in. He turned back to his friend who was apologizing for her lack of gathering skills. Ah, don't worry about it. If you have not noticed I am a non-gathering kind of guy. I don't judge in those steps of skills. You battle battle technique though was near flawless. She then began to decline his request for another skeleton fight. Okay... Well that's okay. He then said, she actually wished to go home and take a shower. That is okay. I will escort you there, but first at least let us stop by a place, so I can get you a small treat for your hard work today. Jonathan stood and listened to her next question. Did she pass? Yes you passed with flying colors. Jonathan began to turn to start returning to town. Come if you want... Wait for it.... Ice cream! Jonathan looked back seeing if the girl would follow. He would take her to Frosty's Cafe for a quick bite on the fourth floor and then bring her home.

Birdie giggled, "I noticed." Hearing that he thought highly of her fighting style was motivating, and with her training as Itzal's apprentice coming up soon, she could hopefully get a few pointers from another scout.

She blinked as he offered to walk her back, though her smile soon shifted and she loosed a gentle nod. No way Birdie would decline an offer for free food.

Her arms pulled downwards victoriously, squealing a quiet "Yes!" as Jonathon confirmed she'd passed. She barely noticed him walking away, but as the words 'Ice cream' left his mouth, her eyes widened a little and she caught up to his side. "Thank you~ I happily accept your generous offer." Grinning, she looked to the path ahead, watching as the Dead Plains soon faded out of sight.

"How did the other initiates do on their initiations?" Minutes had passed, and with the Skeleton-infested fields well out of the way, the town began to take form in the distance. "Has anyone- um.. been rejected?"

Jonathan heard behind him, the girl getting excited. She seemed to enjoy the idea of icecream. Jonathan smiled. Icecream soothed him. As they walked in silence for a few minutes, Birdie asked another question.  "Has anyone- um.. been rejected?" Jonathan paused for a second. Picking the right words  to answer with. As of now for sure, We are not that kind of guild. We do not really have any standards to go off, since our guild is a level building one. Our purpose is to rise other player's level. That being said, We will accept most requests. And as of now, really if you make it to initiation, then you are going to get accepted. And no. No one has been rejected. I hope that answers your question. Finally they arrived at the town and Jonathan smiled. My work is done. My initiate is safely back. He walked over to the teleport pad, pulled Birdie close to him and said, Snowfrost Town! And they dissapeared in a flash of blue light. They materialized on the fourth floor. It was a rather chilly day, but after long hours of training on this floor, Jonathan hardly felt the cold. Ice cream is this way. And he pointed of finger and began walking in that direction.

Birdie nodded, "Yeah, that does- thank you." She felt partly relieved that nobody had been denied initiation; it showed the guild's commitment to helping any and all players grow. With nobody being rejected, though, she considered the possibility of an apprentice concealing negative intentions until they became stronger- she lacked the knowledge and experience to make any judgement, though.

"Hm? Wah-?!" Her eyes glued shut as a hand grabbed her arm, and after a blinding flash of light pierced her eyelids, she carefully inched one eye open. 'Snowfrost Town?' she wondered. As Jonathon instructed her to walk his way, she followed behind, a slight frown plastered across her lips. "A little warning next time!" Scolding him for a moment, she rolled her eyes and turned her head elsewhere, admiring the scenery of the frozen paradise.

Snowflakes fell to her cheeks, a sensation quite unlike any other. It brought a smile to the girl as she was reminded of the snowy winters from her childhood, how she'd sit with her father and sculpt a snowman while the bigger kids had one huge snowball fight at the local park- usually spelling the end for her sculpture each time. She sighed happily, and directed her eyes to @Morgenstern. "Where is this place? Do they have vanilla?" Her smile dimmed a little. 'I hope they have vanilla..'

Jonathan smiled, as he felt his usual thrill of the full. The falling snow, the bitter temperatures. The cold welcomed him with open arms. He turned around, and got Scolded by his initiate. H... Hey! I am sorry. The rest of you people are not as used to the cold as I am. I feel like the whole guild hates my favorite floor! I believe it is wonderful. Jonathan smiled walking forward. Then he was bombarded by question's instantly as he became to enjoy the peace. Place? Just right there. I can see it from here. Frosty's Cafe. As for Vanilla, they have almost every flavor that you can dream of. Hate to break it to you, the Nerve Gear has control of your head, emotions, memories. Everything locked up in that dome of yours. The game can make anything taste like anything. Jonathan laughed as he pushed open the door, hearing a light bell as the two entered. He seen the man, Frosty. A tall and slender man with white apparel, pale face, blue eyes and White hair. Jonathan smiled at him and tapped his nose twice. He watched as the man grinned and stepped back into the "Kitchen". Birdie was going to like her surprise today.

Birdie shot a disapproving gaze towards Jonathon, though, she rolled her eyes a few seconds later and sighed to dispel her annoyance. "Please, I don't hate this floor. I think it's wonderful too~ I met somebody special in that tavern over there, actually." She pointed a finger toward a nearby building, a smile given as she briefly reminisced.

As Jonathon mentioned seeing the café, she averted her eyes from the scenery and focused on the store in question. "Huh.." She expressed interest as he confirmed they had vanilla, but had to frown a little upon hearing about the NerveGear. "Yeah, I know how invasive that oversized headband is.. bleh, let's get some Ice cream."

After stepping inside, she noticed something peculiar immediately. 'He didn't even come to serve us..' The man began to walk into the backroom, causing Birdie to blink before looking up to Jonathon. "That was plain rude- where's he going?" After it became evident that he wasn't coming back within a matter of seconds, she huffed and crossed her arms, waiting for the server to come back.

Jonathan chuckled as he heard Birdie behind him, complaining that he did not come serve them. Ha. Well you see, he is the owner, his waiter's serve us. He makes the icecream. We actually seat ourselves. Jonathan smiled, seating himself at one of the booths. As Birdie set across from him, a waitress entered from the back room. She placed a menu in front of each of them and said, Hello. I hope your day has been great. Do you know what you would like to eat? We have Icecream, Coffee, hot chocolate, smoothies, and sundaes. Jonathan handed the woman back his menu without even looking at it. I will take Triple Chocolate Icecream in a waffle cone thank you. The lady scribbled some stuff down on her notebook. She then turned her attention to the blue haired girl. And for you dear? Jonathan smiled. She was going to love her icecream. All non-special occasion first timers got the special surprise. Jonathan had recieved it himself, and afterwards he had a long talk with Frosty and the man had become his favorite NPC. He really was a great guy.

'Triple Chocolate huh-whatnow?' Birdie glanced to Jonathon as he ordered, then turned her eyes to the waitress once she was addressed by the woman. "O-oh, um.. could I have a Vanilla Ice cream with sprinkles please?" She offered the waitress a smile, hoping her order wasn't outside the range of possibility. Sliding the menu back, her attention shifted over to the man sat opposite. Birdie started to warm up a little now that they were out of the cold, though the air inside the store carried a noticeable chill; probably to keep the theme alive, she thought.

"Is it even right to be this excited over an Ice cream? I haven't had one in like.. years- that's so depressing to think about.." She couldn't remember a time in recent memory where she'd enjoyed one of her most favoured sugary snacks- largely in part due to them being stuck in a nightmare game. "What makes this place special? Are they the only café that sells Ice cream around here?"
