The sunlight filtered through the trees, and painted the woodland floor with dappled shades of jade. Kane blended into the forest, his <> providing stealth among the treelines. He was waiting for Swift, the buxom fighter that he'd met on floor one. She'd asked for a date, and he told her he needed to fight a field boss today. So, they were compromising by fighting the field boss together. The <> was a field boss that made its nest in the middle of the forest. Since this forest was the only way to get to the fourth floor without spending a day traversing an array of open fields with little cover, it had been a popular choice for early players to get to the labyrinth as soon as possible. However, since players kept going missing in the middle of the forest, a recon team revealed why: The Wasp Queen. Not a face to face fighter, but an ambush monster, the Queen would wait for players to get close to her nest, then paralyze them with her sting. Helpless, the drone wasps would finish the players off. Armed with this knowledge, Kane knew that the Queen had to be killed to make this passage safe for up and coming players to reach the upper floors. Quote Report Link to post Share on other sites
Daeron 1 Posted April 9, 2014 #2 Report Share Posted April 9, 2014 Swift followed behind Kane because he was the one keeping the two hidden. She tried as hard as she could tomaintain her footsteps to be silent, or quiet at the bare minimum. Stealth was never really much of a stealthy person, she prefers the standard assault, but if the field boss wasn't really an assault type boss, then their best approach was probably to ATTEMPT an ambush, doubts it will work though. He crouched as he walked, using his <> to provide Swift with some limited cover as they approached where the info guide said that the monster should be. Suddenly, Kane stopped, holding up a gauntleted hand. Pointing silently, he let Swift's eye follow his outstretched finger until the gold and black outline of a humongous, killer wasp was visible. It looked like it was sleeping, occasionally its mandibles clicked and its wings flapped. Two large soldier wasps slept beside her, their sleek forms covering hers with theirs. It looked like they hadn't been spotted yet. "Get ready..." he whispered to Swift. But suddenly, the Queen's eyes shot open. It hissed in their direction, and spat a ball of what looked like acid at Kane! The acid splash missed heartily, which meant that the Queen was just guessing at their location. Kane drew his massive blade, the <>. Leaping out of cover before the two soldier drones could react, Kane swung mightily at the Queen! His sword glowed vibrantly as it slashed at the Queen. Daeron 1 Posted April 10, 2014 #6 Report Share Posted April 10, 2014 Swift heard the words to strike the yellow jacket. She ran in lifting her standard two handed sword of the ground as she scraped it through the soil to slash upwards at the Queen Wasp towards its wing. Swift ran towards the field boss trying to inflict harm, however the boss foresaw the incoming attack and hovered to the right, evading the attack. Quote Report Link to post Share on other sites

It launched a ferocious bite attack at Kane, trying to latch its jaws into his flesh. ------------------------------ Clamping down, it sank its fangs into Kane's unprotected shoulder, tossing him aside and dealing damage. Kane 0 Posted April 10, 2014 Author #10 Report Share Posted April 10, 2014 Reeling from the Wasp Queen's successful attack, Kane decided to try and chop off her stinger before she got a chance to use it. Grasping his mighty blade with a firm grip, he turned as the Wasp rushed past him again, trying to come down on its midsection. ---------------------- He didn't quite chop all the way through it, but Kane saw the beast's eyes widen as his sword cleaved into its abdomen, making it buzz angrily. Rearing back, she launched a gust of condensed air from her rapidly beating wings at Swift, hoping to knock her senseless. The burst of air didn't seem to do much of anything to Swift, who weathered the whirlwind quite admirably. Kane thought that the attack might not have worked because he had damaged the Queen's wing. Bracing his sword against his arm, Kane's blade began to emit a cerulean light, as he charged up his <> Sword Skill. His aim was true, and Kane's blade struck home upon the foul creature. Once! Twice! Thrice! His great sword crashed into the massive insect, doing terrific damage. Kane suspected that because his sword's mass was so great, the perfect strike had inflicted extra damage, even beyond the normal Critical Hit. Daeron 1 Posted April 14, 2014 #18 Report Share Posted April 14, 2014 Swift used the whirlwind as an advantage to her movement. It allowed to practically dance past attacks coming in. She took her large two handed sword, and swung it through the air, allowing the gust of wind to carry her blade at the Wasp, at a high and dangerous speed. The gust carried the blade so fast, that the wasp had no time to react. After the single blink of an eye, the sword slashed at the wasp's side, dealing minor damage. She buzzed in an insectoid rage, unused to fighting opponents who were capable of fighting back. Dashing forward on her glossy wings, she attempted to jab her stinger deep into Rynn's chest. -------------------- Fortunately, it missed her completely, as Swift dodged out of the way.
