Dominion 0 Posted December 8, 2016 Author #41 Share Posted December 8, 2016 (edited) Dominion heard something about a treasure chest from Sey and looked around for any object that resembled a chest. Looking to his left and right, there were no objects in sight, especially on the long extent of grass, leading on until a large tree line interrupted it further away. Dominion just shrugged, "I don't see any chests around here, so I think I will just wait until you have made a move on the boar before I do anything else. Dominion put his great axe into his right hand and placed the bottom of the long hilt on the ground. He held the axe near the head, and looked at the dull blade with some minor disappointment. "Soon, the blade I carry will be in much better shape than this one..." he muttered aloud. Sey 0 Posted December 9, 2016 #42 Share Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) "All right, prepare for round two then. The enemy is here." Sey explained as he would place up his spear before aiming to lunge at the enemy boar in front of the both of them. it was going down! But first, he needed to gather some hate before anything. So to do that, he needed to land some hits. Sadly however, it did not seem to do that for him, as he would end up missing the boar as it leaped to the side. On top of that, it would then follow up the dodge with a strike to the front, resulting him him taking a bit of damage. Fortunately, battle healing was able to do the trick for him, keeping him from actually losing anything in the process. He would have to keep trying before the other player tried to do anything, it would be unfortunate if they started off on the wrong beat like last time. Sure, they got lucky and Sey was able to get the hits in time, but now they were asking for that twice in a row. Dominion 0 Posted December 9, 2016 Author #43 Share Posted December 9, 2016 Foregoing action Dominion watched as Sey made a lunge forward towards the boar as the boar moved out of the way. Dominion knew he should wait there a bit longer, just for some hate to be built up by Sey. So, instead he opened his menu and looked at his friend list. The only person thus far was Wolfie, being that he didn't ask for many friends in this game. He closed the friends list and opened his inventory. He noticed the lack of space being used and closed that too. He looked back up to see the boar make a thrust toward Sey, doing practically no damage. "So Sey, is there any healing abilities in this game that can be used on other people? I was thinking that I would gain that ability if there is such a thing" Dominion called out to Sey as he fought, not realizing that it could be a distraction since he wasn't quite yet in the battle. Sey 0 Posted December 9, 2016 #44 Share Posted December 9, 2016 He was able to not only get his act together, but regain confidence as he was in the middle of the fight. Adrenaline was only speeding up the flow of his body, though it did numb out everything else, so he was not quite able to hear the one out in the distance as he would be asked a question about healing. The assault spear would be coated in blue light once again as he would place out a Sword Art, his current signature, Maiming Blow. It allowed him to strike at the legs with a heavy amount of damage infliction. So with this, he would move towards the boar without any strategy. Once they were in range, the tusks and the spear would both hit their targets with much succession as he'd end up causing the beast to fall onto the ground, seeing how it lost balance in the process. The red critical would appear above it's head once again, showing that it took a good amount of damage from that exchange. Dominion 0 Posted December 9, 2016 Author #45 Share Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Dominion did notice the rather sudden change in battle tactics as Sey made a significant move against the boar. Dominion moved his great axe into the air by a little over a couple inches in order to grasp the great axe more towards the center of the hilt, but realized that he didn't have anything in his hands. Dominion looked towards his right hand to see the hilt hit off of his knuckles and fall completely horizontal beside him as he was moving forward. The large great axe clattered on the ground as he began to stop his forward momentum. He turned to pick up the great axe and noticed that he had missed a good chance to do damage. Dominion thought to himself, I guess I just need to wait for the next opening and attack then." Dominion placed his great axe upon the ground and stood in the same way as he stood before, paying close attention to the combat. Sey 0 Posted December 9, 2016 #46 Share Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) One for the style points, while the boar was still focusing on him, he would hold up the spear as it charged to him. It was like a bull fight, so he just had to dodge and strike. So when it tried to ram him with it's tusks, he'd move to the side to prevent any damage being inflicted onto him before returning the favor by slashing the side. It was basic damage, but he was layering out his statistics with what he can and can't do as of right now. He'll eventually get his chance to hit it with another Sword Art, but now as not the time. Energy was very precious as he had learned back in the past, and to waste it was just asking for death to arrive. He went through one round without it, he'd rather not go through another. While the health bar would not be depleted in the process, the pain was still existent. So he'd rather avoid that in the process at all costs. Dominion 0 Posted December 9, 2016 Author #47 Share Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Dominion watched Sey's movements with his eyes. The move he made to his side was not very clever, but the boar didn't seem to notice, but instead used its instinct. Dominion noticed that the health bar didn't shift very much, meaning that he wasn't using his special ability. Dominion realized that the move was made just to prevent damage to himself, which seemed reasonable. Dominion grabbed the great axe in his right hand and said to himself, "Lets hope this doesn't go as bad". Dominion thrusts his great axe several feet in the air towards the boar and ran forward. He gained a good amount of momentum as he ran up to the boar. He reached out with his left hand and took hold of the axe, bringing it down upon the boar with tremendous force, but only a small amount of damage. Sey 0 Posted December 9, 2016 #48 Share Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) "Oh don't worry, I'll make sure not to miss this next strike." Sey would declare, very confident in his chances as he would coat the spear once again in blue light. Sword Arts was by far one of the best parts of the game in his opinion. They were quick, they covered a lot of ground, and they did a lot of damage in the process as well. So with this, he would place up the spear at the enemy in front of him as he would charge, not so willing to let the scales tip to the middle quite yet. Hate was something that he needed to keep on himself so that his partner would not be in any damage. With this, the effect of maiming blow would trigger as he struck the legs of the boar with succession, resulting in the enemy falling down onto the ground again with a mighty thump as a red critical sign would appear above it's head once again, showing the damage had been severe, but most importantly, he obtained more hate from the monster. Dominion 0 Posted December 9, 2016 Author #49 Share Posted December 9, 2016 (edited) Dominion saw the spear turn a bright blue color as Sey moved in for another well done strike using his spear in front of him. The boar's health bar seemed greatly damaged by the attack, but that made Dominion think. What if my crappy great axe were to turn blue? Dominion made a disgusted face imagining his great axe as a blue color. That would definitely be most displeasing to look at. Maybe if I were to get something that resembles more of just the hilt, then it wouldn't look quite as bad. Dominion suddenly saw the chance to attack pass in front of him. "Crud, I really missed my chance by a long shot. I have got to stop becoming so distracted by the smallest of things" Dominion still held his great axe in his hands, hoping he would get another strike, even if it would be a miss. Sey 0 Posted December 10, 2016 #50 Share Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) He would continue to strike at the enemy boar with all the force he would with the maiming blo ability. His partner did not seme to have too much luck with hitting the enemy, which was fine by him. He was not going to belittle him for it, it was kind of tough, and Sey considering himself to be rather lucky in battle sometimes. So he would activate another maiming blow, preparing to damage it past the point of the yellow health bar once again like he did before. He did not think he could land the hardest of hits, but this one would have to do for now until it was weakened to a red point. In the meantime, he would dash towards the boar as it would attempt to return the favor to him. But the tusks had only so much range as he would then make his way over towards the enemy, striking the back of it's legs once again with succession with the skill triggered. However, he could only do that so many times, so he should probably hold off on using too many sword arts. Dominion 0 Posted December 10, 2016 Author #51 Share Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) Dominion refocused on the battle, seeing the boar hit by Sey another time, decided to run behind it and thrust his great axe down upon it. In the previous battle, Dominion remembered all the misses he made, most of which where the boar would run to the right side too quickly. Dominion decided to use this to his advantage, if the boar had the same tendencies, to strike it as it attempted to escape from beneath his large great axe. Dominion lifted his great axe and moved into position. The boar attempted to move out of the way, and just happened to go to the right. Dominion brought down his great axe as fast as he could. He barely grazed of the very side of the boar, but he did manage to get the critical sign above the health bar of the boar. Dominion had done a decent amount of damage considering his level and prepared to move for the next spot to attack. Sey 0 Posted December 10, 2016 #52 Share Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) They see to have a pattern going now, one strike from him, and one strike from his partner. With this rhythm, they could keep the hate in check and prevent damage from being inflicted onto his partner. Just as long as they don't miss, they should be fine and should be able to eliminate the threat quickly. So he'd place his spear up once again, but refusing to use a sword art. The energy was low enough as it is, and the boar did not quite leave too many openings since it's focus was still on the snow-haired player. But it was open enough for a regular hit. Unless it had been severely weakened or he saw a painfully obvious opening, he was going to hold his tongue. He swiftly sliced upwards towards the chin, causing a good amount of knockback onto the enemy and reducing their health bar a small amount on the process. It was not too much with default damage, but it will do for the moment. Dominion 0 Posted December 10, 2016 Author #53 Share Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) As the boar was dealt some knock-back damage by Sey using the spear with great proficiency, Dominion was preparing for the next opportunity to attack. It was obvious that Sey had not used his ability, and therefore the health bar made a small decrease. He thought to himself, all I need to do is hit the boar... Dominion lifted his massive great axe above his head and waited. Dominion had not planned on the knockback of the boar, but knew it was still a chance to hit. Dominion took advantage of the moment and brought his great axe down upon the boar, which was getting hit on all fronts now. He landed his axe on the top of the boar and grazed it's hide, doing minor damage to its health bar. Dominion stepped back a bit further to give Sey space in closer combat and began to lift the blade up behind his head. Sey 0 Posted December 10, 2016 #54 Share Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) So was he able to pull it off this time? Despite being able to hit it with a nasty amount of hits from the past, he felt a sudden slip in his steps. One unbalanced step lead to another, and unfortunately for him, he could not aim his strike correctly. Not even given a chance to strike, he'd instantly fall onto the ground with his weapon dropping in the process as well. The boar looked to take advantage of this, charging towards him once again. But the result was only a failure as he would roll as fast as he could to the right, where the spear was located. Trying to fight off the boar with limbs is just suicide in the game, the weapon was the most crucial thing he could use. So with this, he would place the weaopn back into his grip and get onto his feet. Nearly got hit by the boar, this was a really close bullet that he had dodged. Perhaps he had gotten too cocky? Something made him slip for sure, and just like that, he ruined their pattern. Somehow he dropped his weapon, giving the boar a chance at a strike. Now, Dominion knew better than to think Sey couldn't do things on his own without Dominions help, but he really did want to attract the boars attention. Dominion came much closer than the few steps he had taken back just moments ago. Dominion reached his arms back behind his head and swung down upon the boar which was trying to get an opportune attack. He barely grazed its side again, not doing much damage to the boar, but still doing some damage. Dominion knew that the attention was still on Sey, since He had done a great job at boosting his hate. Sey 0 Posted December 10, 2016 #56 Share Posted December 10, 2016 (edited) The little piggy was getting on his nerves now. At this rate, his partner would get far too much hate to deal with. Sey was the one that need to take the damage, and he needed to continue striking in order to get that hate. His partner was going a good job though at reducing the damage. It would only be a matter of time before Sey actually used his Sword Arts to get through to the enemy. And a good time will be had by all at that time. It was bliss. He would aim to strike regularly on the back of the NPC monster, with succession of course as he would make it over. He then carried out the attack, causing the enemy to flail a little bit in discomfort, but that was about it. New gear was seriously needed, because it probably has taken worse hits than that before. Unfortunately for the snow-haired player, that was not in his case. The best he could do was hope that he gets a chance for a Sword Art. Dominion 0 Posted December 11, 2016 Author #57 Share Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) As Sey got back into battle with the boar, Dominion was preparing another side attack. He had noticed a trend up until now where the boar would move to the right in an attempt to dodge attacks. That made the boar pretty predictable, giving Dominion the strategic edge. Dominion had not moved from his spot, but had lifted the massive great axe above his head, ready to swing it down upon this troublesome boar. Dominion waited for the boar to make its attack, and become somewhat off-balance. Dominion brought his great axe down where he predicted the boar would be, but made his move a bit too obvious. The boar turned away, moving to the left in order to dodge his rather minor attack and continue to pursue his partner, who had lifted the hate on the boar a little bit more. Sey 0 Posted December 11, 2016 #58 Share Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) The next blow aimed for him was not a successful one, though the boar seemed to have rushed him and nearly got to him with it. The exchange was unfortunate, he was unable to use any form of openings against the boar. As a result, he could not even try to go for a strike and hit the boar, which also meant no increase in hate. Sure. The NPC might hate him only for now, but that did not mean that his partner would not hit a critical strike and then have the attention turned onto him. But Sey was certainly out of ideas for right now, and until he could think of anything else, they were going to have a harder time with taking down the boar. The last thing needed was the death of a player on the hands of the snow-haired player. There must have been something he could do. Dominion 0 Posted December 11, 2016 Author #59 Share Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) There was quite obviously something going wrong with the fight, and Dominion couldn't seem to grasp what it was. The boar was not landing any attacks as far as he could tell, but Sey and himself were not doing well either. Dominion knew that if Sey wasn't doing well at building up hate, the best thing that could happen was that he would miss. However, If Sey were to hit and Dominion were to miss, it would only make him look bad. Dominion would rather himself look bad than get killed by a boar on the first floor any day. Dominion had not prepared himself for missing the attack, but as he swung down with his massive great axe, he had a feeling the boar would move out of the way again. And, just as he predicted when it was too late, the boar moved several inches away from the blade and continued to focus on Sey. Sey 0 Posted December 11, 2016 #60 Share Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) Was there any shame in losing a game? Perhaps a normal one, yes. But what if that game had a life on the line? Would losing be an unfortunate thing? Compared to anything, correct. It might have been best to fail at something, just as long as it was not the total game itself. Maybe Sey missing was not the worst thing to happen, his partner seemed to do that as well. He still gave effort though, and so should he. So he would prepare a Sword Art, once again using the Maiming Blow ability he had before rushing to the boar that tried to rush him. As a result, he would place the spear through it's legs once more, a red critical sign showing above it's head once again as the damage had been inflicted onto it. Perfect!
