<<The Essence of Steel>>

This quest takes place on Floor 4
This quest is repeatable

Word from Information Brokers speaks of a mysterious Beast Skull found in the far north of the Frozen wasteland of Floor 4. A small party reported having struck the skull with a nearby bone, waking a huge beast in a nearby cave. This monster, identified as <>, was easily equal in health and strength to a Floor Boss, and is said to yield an incredibly rare drop upon death that will allow a player to enhance a single item, improving it's quality by one level.

Requirements:
-At least two [2] Pages (21 or more posts)
- The Snow Beast must be defeated

Snow Beast Information:

Note: This item CANNOT change a weapon's Tier. (Example, a Tier 1 weapon becomes a Tier 2).
  2. 1 Skill Point
Parties or Groups are encouraged, though only the player who takes this quest, and uses the Skull to awaken The Snow Beast will receive the <<Essence of Steel>> drop. That means ONLY ONE ESSENCE WILL DROP PER TOPIC.

Jonathan stood on the fourth floor, preparing himself for a nasty fight with a snow beast. He had heard of a large quest out here in which you can upgrade an item. It was a genius idea Jonathan had. What if he were to get all of his items as rare's, then upgrade them. He most likely was not going to do that, but his Jacket was still a rare. It had the potiental to be upgraded and that is why he is here. After the Hoya quest, Jonathan had a quick quest with Aereth, got his Tier Two weapon, and now he was here, an adventure away from getting his Block Grandmastered. He equipped his items and look around. He would get the quest done quickly and do some hunting. He knew he had to kill at least three ice elementals for the quest to pop up though, and they apparently were no joke. Espically if you were a high enough level, they would no longer spawn elementals. They would spawn <<Lesach Entites>> They had a lot of health, so they would drop items that would give him a fortune when sold. Also, they occasionally dropped something called a Lesach Halcyon. These were powerful materials to use with crafting weapons, and are supposed to help make Frost Weapons. It was probably a fluke about Frost Weapons, but he bet the item was real. Jonathan smiled slightly, and stepped out into the icy plains.

Jonathan took a breath of the crisp frosty air, as he walked out. He smiled, hoisting his Tier Two weapon on his shoulder, preparing himself. He had started pretty far north, so it was only a few minutes walk. Then he would have to cut his way through Entites as he made his march up the hill. It would not be much of a triumph, but he feared the Entites would be more powerful than the quest mob itself. It made sense. As you reached higher levels and tiers, you begin to attract the higher level creatures, and other tend to stay a bit more back. Jonathan reached the base of the mountain he had been moving forward, and moaned as he looked up to see how tall it was. It certainly was not the tallest, but it was not a small mountain. Jonathan began to tromp p. It was not that steep luckily for him, but it would call for some footwork and carefulness. Then, he seen a large white glowing circle creature moving towards him, floating over the ground. As it drew near, it became colder, and the wind and snowfall became much more harsh. Jonathan knew, that he had hit nothing yet. Ready to spar? Jonathan snickered and brandished his weapon. He looked at it for a quick second charging up its power. Lately, his power had been driven by bloodlust, power, and raw emotion. His aura had become a deep red. Jonathan would be worried, but his power had increased so it was all good still. Jonathan smiled, and charged forward, his blade gleaming red in a fire motion. He struck the entite multiple times, and backed up before being damaged himself. The creature began to glow further, and the winds grew very harsh, ice, unblockable slashing open his body. It felt really cold, almost enough to cause a freezing effect. Not quite though.

Jonathan backed away, trying to get his body just a ta bit warmer. He was a bit cold from coming into contact with the Entite, which was strange to him. He did not get cold. The temperature around this creature a=was at least another thirty degrees below everything around it. A bit cold hearted are you. I'll... Warm that up a bit. Jonathan smiled misheviously as he energized his blade, bright red burning brightly on his weapon. He did not actually have burn damage, which would have been convenient, but it looked a bit like fire. The Blond dashed into the cold area surrounding the creature and dealt several blows into it. His blade brought another large chunk of the creature's HP down, making it almost have half health. He could now take out creatures in about five hits. It still was quite a bit, but for a solo tank that was pretty good. Why he solo trained he had no ides. Perhaps he just needed a break form people. He had been alone most of his life, and now he was forced into dealing with them all the time.

Jonathan remained in the cold spot this time, his survival skill allowed him to stay out in this rough temperature and his liking to the cold attributed as well. The blond's smile faded as he began to become more concentrated. He did this most the time when he was in battle. Be in a hype at the start of a battle, but settle down as it progresses. Jonathan stepped in, his blade glowing furiously despite the massive snowstorm that was in the small area that dried to dim its brightness. Mess... with the best, and you will... DIE LIKE THE REST! Jonathan went into a frenzy striking the enite seven times in total, bringing its health down a very large chunk. He had struck it with a hyper critical, which seemed to have angered it. The Entite began to glow furiously and the winds picked up. Things began to become not visible, and the temperature dropped another twenty degrees. He felt his health begin to drop as large chunks of ice, slashed his body. The it all sopped as it appeared one of the shards had struck his shield sending off an electric discharge into the air. Jonathan tried to back away, but he appeared to be frozen in place. The damn thing got me!

Jonathan closed his eyes as his body was frozen over. That way he was mentally and physically cold, His mind began to wander, returning back to his house, wondering what his father thought of his son being stuck in a game like this possible to die at any moment. He was not sure what his father was like or wanted from Jonathan, but Jonathan from a young age had always wanted to impress his father. Be the best he could be for him. Jonathan felt himself tighten and everything began to warm. He had to get out o this ice cage that held him fast. He began to struggle and heard cracks in his ice barrier, Finally a minute later, the entire thing just shattered all around him. He turned to face the Entite which was moving already. Jonathan gave it look, and returned to a battle stance. Got a good break, because I am ending this now. This has gone far too long. Jonathan was serious about that. He wanted the creature dead, or one hit away by now, but instad it still had a third of its health good and pure. Jonathan was going to get rid of that.

Jonathan held his weapon at the ready. His limbs were stll a bit cold and did not want to move after being frozen like that, but he would manage. He charged at the entire, but ended up slipping into a crouch onto the snow. The creature began to draw near and its glow more noticable. Everything began to get cold again, but Jonathan had to get out of there. He threw himself backwards and slid down the mountain some. He was no longer in the freezing depths of the creature. You think I would let you freeze me again? That is where you must be wrong. Jonathan readied himself again, prepared from the onslaught of cold. It was a harder fight, but it was still not that challenging. It did not land a hit on me either, so that just left me more at an advantage. My health returned to full again.

Jonathan smiled as he twirled his weapon, red aura leaving a trail as the blade swung around. Jonathan stopped and gripped hi weapon. He would need to move with speed and Precision if he was to hit this creature. He kicked off the ground, splashing sand backwards and pushing himself forwards. He neared the enemy, he brought his weapon back and brought it forward to strike it. A huge chunk of ice struck his blade, veering it off course and to the side. The Entite began to flicker and Jonathan hastily moved away, fearing what would happen if he was frozen and this creature would not be. He crouched, holding himself in a position where he could easily leap to either side. You going to do anything yet? Or are you just going to float there? Jonathan snickered and waited.

Jonathan stood with his blade on his shoulder. He was starting to get tired of this battle with the Entite. It appeared to be plying defensive instead of doing anything. It was more worried about it dying then it was about killing him. It was weird because he had never seen a mob do that. It was almost foreign to him. It did not matter that it was playing defensive. He had to kill this creature. He charged forward, trying to thrust his weapon forward, but it did not work with a curved sword. Jonathan growled and kicked bacwards off the groun and landing softly in the snow. You are starting to piss me off. Keep it up if you want to live minute or so. I'll get you eventually, and you are not going to like it. Jonathan felt flared, fired up. This creature had put a flame in his heart, and he was going to use it to burn down everything in his path.

Jonathan gave the creature a fierce look. It was definently making him angry. It appeared to put this ice wall around itself, protecting it from harm. It was protected somehow, and Jonathan was going to break that wall. He looked down to his weapon and noticed that it burned brightly. The flames of his anger, fed the flame to his aura. Jonathan stared at the entite before moving quickly to the side, and then kicking off the ground straight to his target. It got cold fast but Jonathan swung his blade founding into a few chunks of ice. From there Jonathan rolled backwards, and then inspected his work. He had done some considerable work, noticing that there was not a large gap in its defense. The blond smiled readying to strike right inside the gap as it appeared the only place he had to make a successful attack.

Jonathan squinted, looking for the creak he had made in the enemies defense. Spotting it he smiled and looked down at his weapon. He felt the energy coursing through it and thought of the motions for his sword art. Getting it in mind, he dashed forward, his blade extended at his side. He prepared to slash but before he did, the Entite began to glow violently and its defensive wall started shooting at him at high speed. Jonathan tried to dodge but it was all in vain. The icewall smashed into Jonathan's side. The blond rolled to the ground and pushed himself back up again. Well played creature, I give you that one, I did not expect it, but I will be open minded next time. Jonathan brushed the snow off of his body with a evil smile, boy did he have a plan.

Jonathan smiled as he waited for the Entite to get a bit closer. He began to get slowly colder and Jonathan made the motions for a sword Art again. The blond charged forward, and once again a wall of ice flw forward to smash him. Jonathan leapt upwards, sailing over the ice. As he came down, he made a slash down the elemental's body. From there he spund, and began to hack at the creatures "Body" until it reached a very low amount of health. Jonathan had no intention in making that his final attack, and instead his next one would be. The blond leapt backwards and out of harms way. He had proved to himself that he had adjusted to this new move, but now that the creature was HP critical, Jonathan expected a new change once more. He had to stay open minded.

Jonathan stood in a defensive stance, ready for another move from the Entite. The air had become much colder, and it was now still, as if it was so cold it slowed time itself. Why is the air still? I expected it to be much worse now. Wait, What if it is biding energy? A flash came from the Entite as if he thought correctly. Then Icicles pelted themselves at one point at him. He raised his shield. He took no damaged, but the repeatedly being hit in one spot backed him up from his original position. Small range, ton of damage. That is what that attack is like. Time for me to bring the maelstrom. Jonathan twirled his weapon.Thye were one hit away from finishing this battle, and Jonathan was see to the end of it. I beter freaking get a large sum of loot from this guy. This has been far too much of a pain.

Jonathan stood tall, with his weapon at the ready. His shield was held at his side, but Jonathan was much more worried bout the fact that he needed to kill this thing. The Entite drew in, but Jonathan was not playing around anymore. He gave no chance to the creature and charged forward, making one simple slash on the creature. It was weak and simple, but it finished the job. The entite ripped in half and burst open, fading away into a cold blizzard. Killing these things would cause snowstorms. If you killed enough, then you would begin to spawn rare creatures. Problem is that you have to be able to move around in a blizzard with force that compared to a avalanche. He sheathed his weapon. The top was near, and his next creature would be the snowbeast. It dropped an item he needed, and he would not fail this mission as he had done the Gemini. He admits, the Gemini was a fail, but Jonathan was not a failure on anything else. Kinda ticked about not getting a feystone, Jonathan kept moving.

Jonathan trodded up the hill with a sigh. The wind and snow had picked up since the death of the creature, and for once he was actually cold. The blond never got cold, and was usually ready for just about any type of weather other than heat. He slipped on a patch of ice and fell to his knees. He stood up and brushed away the snow. The path he was taking and lonely. Most preferred to not be up here, so if he ever needed a quick getaway, this would most likely be the place to go. He sheathed his blade that still lay in his hands. He would not need it until the best because he would avoid other entites. He only needed to kill one, not a ton. The blond smiled and kept the trail moving forward. He expected to be at his destination ready in thirty minutes. It would not that hard of a fight he believed, but It would not be second class. Second thought, it would be second class. A level thirty two was soloing it.

Jonathan was working his ass of trying to get strong enough for the frontlines. There was multiple reasons why he was doing so. He needed to get stronger to tank for others in the boss. Anyway, he was a tnak, that was his job. Instead he knew that Zandra was going to do it. He sighed and kept moving up the hill anticipating anything. The next reason was he was actually a bit nervous. It was his first boss battle, he was the lowest level participating. He had one of the highest mitigations, but he might be having the highest hate and take boneshattering amounts of damage. He did not want to die. He shook the thought out of his head. He did not need to feed negative things to his brain, espically when he was already scared enough. The blond looked down the way he came. He shoud be to the top in a couple of minutes. He was already ready to get to the top and kill that thing. He did not need to stay long. The coldness was starting to get to him as he cagan to feel the numb feeling of frostbite. He was almost there.

Jonathan made the last stretch onto the mountain about five minutes later. As he made it, he spun and planted his back onto the ground. The cold had a draining effect, making him feel as if he were out of energy. Even though he now had full energy. He sat up and looked around catching sight of a large skull. He believed this item was also an important addition to the quest he was partaking in. He walked over to it, and tripped over a large bone, faceplanting into the cold hard snow. Jonathan cursed and picked up the bone. He held it tightly and smashed it into the skull sending of a loud thunk sound. As if on command, a roar filled the silence. Jonathan caught sight of the creature. It was a giagantic snowbeast and almost resebled something elite. Like it was made to murder hundreds of players. Jonathan smled. That battle had just begun. The blond souted for the creature's attention and unsheathed his weapon. The mirror-like blade flashed with energy as he did so. Ready to tango?

Jonathan smiled with a wild grin as he seen his enemy. Well look who decided to join us Dying Light. The blond was reffering to his weapon which shone brilliantly in response. Jonathan smiled and crouched. There he aimed and shot upwards. His blade gleamed gold as pure as it should and he swung his weapon as he came close. Before he fully reached his opponent, the giant beast swatted him to the ground like a fly. The blond smashed into the ground with a thud. He quickly moved up. It had not hut much, but it appeared this creature had quite a bit of damage behind that paw. Sadly, Jonathan would have to kill this beast. It was of remarkable skill and design and Jonathan felt proud to solo it. It appears I have underestimated you. Sorely. I apologize, but that does not stop me from what I must do. That is, kill you.

Jonathan smiled as held his blade in front of him. He held it in front of the center of his face sot he creature would be divided into two. One on each side. He smiled maliciously before taking a small step forward. He was ready to kill this thing. Jonathan took another step before charging forward. He did not just but this time went for the legs. The creature oped its law and reveled thousands of sharp teeth and a gust of blue wind came out, icicles along with it. Jonathan crouched and threw up his shield, defending the attack. So this creature had more than physical attacks but it had other skills as well. Jonathan leapt backwards prepared to make another move on this creature. It would be eaasy enough if he could just HIT. It would be nice of you if I could hit you about four times. I think that should do it. Nothing more is really all that needed.

Jonathan was a tad bit annoyed that he still had not hit. This creature had zero evasion properties, and nothing in his way, so why did he keep missing. It was literally a quest for level twenties. That was the group this quest proved difficulties to. Jonathan sighed and decided to bring on another assault. He quickly tightened his grip on his weapon. He smiled slight and charged. He slashed forward and ended up having to hold the tremendoues force of the creatures claws from slashing him to ribbons. What am I doing wrong? Is there a weak point? There must be a physical strategy to beat this guy. He can't evade or block EVERY single one of my attacks. The blond rolled to the side and returned to his feet, searching for anything he might see that looked like a weak point. Could you tell me what to do or where to attack at and from. I am having a few difficulties killing you.

Jonathan stood there thinking of possible ways to kill a creature so large. It should have been much slower than other creatures, but it was still the same speed which kind of made things difficult. Jonathan sighed and started to move quickly around the creature, identifying any weak points. Most large beasts had an exposed underbelly. He would try there. The blond dashed forward inwards, aiming for underneath the creature. He was almost there before the creature jumped. It flew away from Jonathan. It landed about a hundred feet away and turned to face Jonathan. It looked angered that he would go for the underbelly. Then something caught the tank's eye. A bright blue pendant lay on neck looking quite suspicious. That is where I need to aim for. I believe that should be the weak point, problem would be getting there.
