He looked to see giant creatures attacking multiple buildings, and he knew that he needed to act fast. If they destroyed these buildings, multiple people would die, and he needed to try and stop that if possible. He breathed and continued forward, sprinting to the first four floating bomb creatures, watching them with curious eyes. He had never heard of these creatures before, nor seen anything like them. So they were definitely unique in their own ways. He looked around and hoped to see someone that could help. He saw a few people in the distance, but nobody he could see or make out from this distance. He cupped his hands over his mouth "Hey! Can anyone help me with this?" Zandra 0 Posted January 26, 2017 #2 Report Share Posted January 26, 2017 (edited) Thursday afternoon, floor sixteen, on the beach. I goanced back at my beachhouse with a long bored sigh. The floor boss for floor twenty was defeated, but had no motivation to head forward to start exploring the new floor. I would let the other lowlies do it, they probably wanted to be useful for something. A recent event, killing a large ent, was also completed. Customers to ly store was few. There really didnt happened much at the moment. At least not until I got a mail from one of my most trusted information brokers. It turned out that a new quest was available, three floors above me. It was also a pretty hardcore one. The boredom disapeared in just a few moments and got replaced with exitment. But when I red next sentence, not possible to solo. I let out a sigh and prepared for some waiting. Well, first head there, then wait for someone to show up that can join in. So I picked my twohanded battleaxe and left for floor 19. To my sirprise, when I approached the village there was a familiar man. At first I stopped on the spot. It was the man that once loved, and I guess still do, the lioness that now was my sister in arms. Due to stuffs, they wasnt together anymore. I felt a little uncomfortable when picking up the steps and approach him. I wasnt sure if he even wanted me to help him. "Ehm... Heya Hik. Im here, if u maybe wants my help?" He gave a small smile as she asked if he needed help and was more than happy to say yes. He pointed towards the large ball's of fire that seemed to be attacking the building they were next to and breathed, unsheathing his dagger with the other hand. As much as he hated to admit, he knew he wouldn't be doing any of the work for this. He knew the damage capabilities she had, as he had seen at Boss Fights, and it was a reason he wanted to keep her as an ally "Yeah, I would love some help. In fact, I know I can't do this on my own." He said, giving a small sigh of defeat "I need you to help me attack these little bomb things we got here man. I know for a fact that there are more than just a few things here, probably at other buildings were going to have to walk around and look for." He gave a small sigh and charged ahead into the building, hoping to help attack these things at least once. Thou he was already charging forward with back towards me so he didnt saw it. "Hey! Leave some for okay!" I shouted as I followed close behind him. Feeling the exitment of a challenging battle. "Time to show what you are made of." I said to the Darkened axe in my hands as I spotted the opponents. Flying... bombs? Got a little confused first, felt like it didnt really fitted with what Ive seen in SAO thus far. But shrugged my shoulders. "One time have to be the first." I said. Thou they looked to strong to be wiped with one of my sword arts, even if it was the currently strongest. So I poped a potion open let the liquid flow down thru my throath. Feeling my muscles grow as well as my teeths to be sharp as a dragons. ''Okay, I think Im ready now.'' I said to Hikoru. As he finished his attack, he noticed that a counter ticked to (2) Above it's head, and it grow a bit in size. He didn't like the feel of that. He looked at Zandra, and breathed as he backed away. All the Bombs looked at Hikoru and eyed him, then moved forward and attacked him. He grit his teeth and was knocked back, his health depleting quickly. He didn't like the feel of that at all. He looked to Zandra with some worried eyes "Zan, I need you to finish these things, now." He said, hoping that she could do something about it. He couldn't survive more than a few of those kind of attacks, and he knew that these things could seriously kill him if he wasn't careful. He was ready to run at any moment that he needed to. There was only one man that was actually allowed to call me that. But a moment or two later and before I could comment it, I realized what he said. The bombs have priority now. I lifted my axe and darted forward towards the explosive mobs. A strange black light was pulsing in the axe as I twirled it around. The black shine seemed to damage the bombs even more then the power of the axe already did. I saw all four bombs slowly ticking down, down, down. When they was empty, four bombs esploded into blue and white crystals. ‘’So, that was the first group. Shall we go to the next house master of shadows?’’ I asked. Couldn’t release the thougth about my loved one. But I had to push it aside, we had a much more important situation right here and now. He backed away, giving a small smile as he opened his map to look at two other locations. They were both already taking a hit, and he knew it would only be a matter of time until they were both destroyed. There was only one way to handle this, and he didn't like it. He would have to divide and conquer with Zandra, which meant he had the possibility of dying. He held the potion in his hot bar feverishly, knowing that he would probably have to use it. He breathed and looked at Zandra "Okay, we need to split up. You go to this location over here, i'll head for this one. Once your done, meet me at mine, i'll try to hold them off as best as I can. But you gotta be fast, because I can't take a lot of hits." He said with a worried breath, knowing the very well possibility of death. He didn't like it, but it needed to be done. With a wave he started to head to the other location, sprinting feverishly to get there as fast as he could. He made his way as the creatures turned to look at him. They didn't seem happy that he was there, and he didn't blame them. He shuddered and held his ground with his legs were shaking. If they was gonna prevent the buildings from being destroyed, they had to split up so that Hikoru could keep the bombs at bay while I taking care of the other ones. I nodded. ‘’Yeah, I will do my best. But I guess you wouldn’t feel bad for a little refill right?’’ I closed my eyes for a few seconds until I felt the skill starting to activate. As I opened my eyes, the crimson globes didn’t looked at Hikoru, they was ice-blue. I placed my hands on his chest. ‘’With the power our goddess, I hearby bless you with the holy power given to us by Dwayna, the goddess of life.’’ His healthbar was slowly returning to full. ‘’There, have to go. I’ll be right back.’’ And then I darted away towards the other location, the location where I would find another group of bombs and, hopefull, destroy them just as quick as I did with the first ones. He remembered that while @Zandra was also a very strong player, she had invested in healing as well. He gave a small sigh of relief as he realized it, and was thankful that she was here with him. He charged forward as the Bombs sent an attack towards him. He nimbly dodged them, doing crazy moves around them, tricking the enemy and sending an attack towards them, knowing that he would find hsi mark. He attacked the one on the farthest right, and slashed and swiped at them, dealing a large chunk of health. the word "CRITICAL" Appeared before him in all caps, but he noticed that there was no bleed or Paralysis indicator. He was confused, but took a guess that they may have some sort of ability that nullifies Bleed and Paraylsis, maybe all enchantments that acted like those were affected. He wouldn't be able to check, and gave a sigh as he waited to see what would happen next. He wouldn’t be able to stay alive for that long. And as the dagger user he was, there wasn’t any strong AoE he had at his disposal. But they also had to protect the houses. So instead of risking missing the bombs, I pulled the fours agro towards me with a loud howl. I saw the four bombs, half in fear and half in relief, coming towards me. I had executed the howl, but didn’t thinked about what would come next. I took a step back and triedto prepare for the impact as good as possible. I just hoped Hikoru would be able to stay alive for awhile. Or else, that house would probably get destroyed. And then my reward wouldn’t be as good as it could be. It grew much larger as it's counter rang up another notch, and he knew that unless he could deal enough damage, he couldn't hit that thing again. If he had a damage potion, he could finish it but he didn't think of asking for one at the time, a stupid call on his part. He grit his teeth as he dodged the attacks of the Bombs, and he hoped that Zandra was doing okay on her end. He didn't have time to shoot a Private Message, or else he would be taking the risk of being hit, something that didn't sit well with him. He re-adjusted his glasses and just prayed that she had finished them off by now, or else he would be taking more risks of dying, which he hoped he wouldn't have to. @Zandra ID: 76599 BD: 7+3-3=7 Hit! Then the last one slightly touched my head, but nothing that effected my healthbar. Now it was my time to counterattack. A smirk on my lips as I lifted my two-handed axe to vanquish another groups of bombs. ‘’Aaaaahhhhh!!! I don’t have time to waste on you you little firecrackers!’’ I said as I asctivated my powerful sword art. But instead of cleving thru the bombs and reducing their health, I only striked the air. I gritted my teeths when I realized all of the bombs was still unhurt. I threw a glance at the place where I thougth Hikoru was. ‘’I must hurry or another house maybe gonna fall.’’ I said to myself, taking a look off from the bombs. This fight wasn’t something Ive been thru ever before. It's health went down a considerable amount, but it also grew in size as it's counter appeared above his head. He shuddered as he knew that if Zandra didn't get here soon, there would be four of these things in their giant form, and he would be unable to deal any sort of damage to the lot of them, something that he didn't like. He looked around and saw that although things were burning, the durabilities on neither of the buildings had gone down in awhile, which was a good sign. The Building they had protected was at full durability, which was good, meaning that they didn't re-spawn if they weren't in the area, making this a very easy mission if you had a strong ally or allies. So, I consentrade thru activating my consentration skill, increasing my chance of landing a succesful hit. I focused my aim on a spot where I, when activating my AoE, would hit all of the bombs. "Aaahhh!!!" I scremed when darting forward, activating my charge skill this time. In just moments, I was in the right spot."Hehe." I said before activating my strongest sword art. Two wide swungs making red stripes on all of them bombs. I watched as their health started to fall down. From green to yellow, from yellow to red and from red to nothingness. A few seconds later, I bathed in a sea of blue and white crystals. This felt good, one house secured. I took a look at my axe. Everytime Ive landed a hit with this axe, a faint layer of black light hv shined around it and this time was no exception. I wonder why it did it, I think its cool but still wonder why. The reward from the quest also depended on how good it would be completed. I knew that the player I was here with wouldn’t be able to take out four bombs at once, so I better hurry over there. So I took a steady grip of the axe and activated both my athletic skill together with my charge skill. It almost felt like flying when I got closer and closer to the location of my party member, the location of the last bombs that needed to be destroyed before they explode. Before they destroy the house and lowers their reward. Also there was a feeling somewhere in the back of my mind. It told me to hurry, that I must hurry up or a dear friend of mine wouldn’t make it. But that couldn’t be true, I had Ariel now. I only partied up with Hikoru since I had to. Right? O was it something else as well? Nonono, it couldn’t. Focus now Zandra, focus on you mission. It grew in size and now had a counter above his head. He was starting to run out of time, as he knew that eventually he would either had to hit one of these and start a chain reaction, or he would die by their hands. Neither choice was good to him. He needed to defeat these things and keep the housing protected for the citizens of this floor, but he wasn't sure if these bombs were the last of it. In his HUD, he noticed that there was a bullet point with only question marks instead of text. He didn't know what to make of it, and he knew that he would need to be careful if anything. Zandra 0 Posted February 16, 2017 #18 Report Share Posted February 16, 2017 As I almost flew thru the warm air that was filled with the heat from the burning bombs, I heard the wound of battle getting closer and closer. I took a steadier grip of my axe. It sounded like the bombs was in the next building, and as well as the master of shadows. I had guessed right, I saw something burning inside the building so headed inside. There I saw only one of the bombs was at full health. Two was under half and the fourth was somewhere between. "Nice work Hik. Let me finish it." I said as I activated my strongest sword art. The aoe striked all of the bombs. Hopefully Hikoru had dodged out of the way for my darkened axe. Well, hopefully for him that is. I watch as all four healthbars emptied and the bombs was no more. I brushed my hair back. But as usual it just fell back and covered my right eye. "So, the small ones destroyed and all buildnigs saved. Whats next?" Hikoru 0 Posted February 17, 2017 Author #19 Report Share Posted February 17, 2017 Hikoru heard Zandra approached and gave her a nod as she said she would take care of it, ducking and moving out of her way as she finished the remaining bombs. They were all soon gone and all the buildings were secure. He let out a relieved sigh and sat down, letting his energy regain as much as he could at the time, knowing that if he didn't in case there was anything else, that he wouldn't be able to fight well enough to hold it off. He turned to Zandra, then motioned for the ground "For now we rest, let our energy recooperate. If we don't, we could be screwed in case anything else comes up. The Quest will pause while we're still in here. But once we leave the building, either the quest will end or something else will come up. So we're stuck here for now." He said, explaining his hypothesis. "That's just a theory however, and I could be wrong, but i'm not taking my chances until my energy level is back up to full." He laid down and pulled up his hood, getting comfty for the next few moments before he would be back up and fighting once more. 1/3 Posts until Full Energy Regeneration Link to post Share on other sites
Zandra 0 Posted February 20, 2017 #20 Report Share Posted February 20, 2017 (edited) I smile on my lips as I saw the crystals that have been gour bombs just seconds earlier slowly fade out into nothingness. As Hikoru said we should rest, I glanced at my energybar and nodded. My strongest attack that was also an AoE was pretty terrifying. But that comes with a downside, it swallows a ton of energy from each strike. I had only delivered three attacks but my energy was down to about a third. ‘’I think that sounds like an pretty good idea.’’ I answered and sat down beside the master of shadows. I was just gonna ask him why was here when I looked at his healthbar. It was reduced by a lot and I know we must be top if we should survive next challenge, or rather I thinked. So I pushed myself up and placed my hands on Hikoru. Closed my crimson eyes and opened seablue ones. A faint blue smoke rose from us for a few seconds as his health bar rised up to full again. I glanced at it. ‘’There, that’s better.’’ I sadi and placed myself beside him again. @Hikoru ID: 77709 CD: 8 First aid activated.
