[PP-F5] Slain <<Butcher of the Sand>>

Recommended Posts

Mist looked at Sey with a rather confused expression "Okay Say?" The spearwoman didn't really know why Hydra was friends with this person, they seemed a little strange, although very powerful Mist had definitely noticed that just from looking. As the spearwoman listened in once more she heard Hydra mentioned she would have to sit out and spectate, she knew Hydra wasn't trying to be controlling he wasn't that sort of person, however, he did seem to care a little too much at times and she had agreed that if he were to take her here then she'd have to stick close. Sighing she slumped down in the sand and waited for the talk to finish. Off in the distance, the arena could still be made out and it appeared that was the area they'd be visiting. "I wonder what wonders are hidden in there." The adventurer pondered to herself, a feeling of excitement being to emerge.

He chuckled a slight amount, a smile forming across his lips. "Just like how we always do this." Sey commented, noting the times that the both of them would slay many things on their own. It was great knowing that Sey finally had some use for Hydra, considering how distant they were in level and power at one point. Now they were working together as equals. With this, he would proceed to head towards the arena with his spear close to him. "Let's find out then. We are going to be facing a nasty boss in there though, so don't let your guard drop." It was not as hard as the snow-haired player made it out to be, but it was certainly nothing to be underestimated either. As long as Hydra knew that, the both of them can continue without the fear of dying. Sey was a healer anyways, balanced player technically, so there shouldn't be so much fear. So he would continue to pace towards the arena, entering it.

As the group drew closer the arena grew more disturbing in look. What Hydra originally saw as a colosseum turned out to be a sphere of jagged spears. "Maybe I can find a new weapon here." He laughed sarcastically trying to ease the building tension. In the center of the arena lay a hollowed out area which could only be assumed to be the fighting arena. Looking towards Mist, Hydra gave a slight nod. If she came in with them he couldn't guarantee her safety. Mainly due to the fact he had no actual idea what this thing was. "Don't worry I will try not to die." The adventurer continued smiling at her, as Sey headed on in. Finally bowing his head and turning back around he followed in after his snow-haired friend. The quest seemed to require they both entered because soon after a set of jagged gates to the arena slammed shut. "Hmm, looks like we are trapped after all." A dead silence hung for a moment, only the whistling of the wind could be heard... Then like a crack of thunder, the whole arena seemed to explode into life and with a roar there foe revealed himself. A large bipedal crocodile-clad in armor and wielding a mighty ax dropped in. The challengers, Hydra and Sey. "After you." Hydra told Sey whilst laughing lightly to himself.

The Sand Setsu would reveal itself before the both of them, quickly trying to attack without even roaring or anything of the sort, making it a quick boss that they had to react to quickly. Sey swiftly dodged the swing of the monster before jumping upwards, slashing it’s chest at first, and he would continue to slash as he would fall to the ground before landing successfully. With that done, he would jump back and wait for Hydra to…  Finish it off? Admittedly, it seems like the monster was not in that good of a condition already. Sure, it was not in the worst shape either, but after a hit, most bosses usually stood up to something like that.t This one however does not seem to have that kind of spirit, interestingly enough. Regardless however, that just worked in the favor of the players though, so the snow-haired player would not react by questioning it.

Once Sey had done his part Hydra followed swiftly after. Triggering his charge ability alongside the passive effect of ferocity he was able to bring the Sand Setsu into a killing range. Enraged the beast's fury caused it to increase in size, the spearman could sense its blood lust even from here. However... Hydra knew the battle was already over, neither him or Sey had sustained any damage, all that was needed now was Coup' de Grace to finish this thing off. All they needed to do now was prepare for a final blow off this sand crocodile. Hydra readied himself to evade its mighty axe, alternatively he could try use his spear to block it. In any case he doubted its damage would be anything significant considering its already low portion of health. "I think we need to face something more dangerous." Hydra thought to himself, there strongest opponent yet had been the Water Serpent which had very nearly killed him.

"Good job Hydra! I'll deliver the final blow!" Sey would announce before then placing himself in attacking stance, then springing his legs out forward to rush towards the boss monster. It was not going to last too long, though they ended up making it mad with how low the health of the monster was unfortunately. Sey was not going to let it get to him though, and it seems like Hydra was able to handle the pressure low. They were close to ending it, and as long as they kept on switching in and out of battle, they should all be able to handle the monster. So with that, he would attempt to make impact... And he succeeded. The monster tried to slash at Hydra, but Sey would jump in between the impact, blocking it with his spear before slashing the air successfully, following it up with a few more blows before eventually ending the barrage with the monster shattering to pieces.

The boss shattered not moments after and once more everything returned to quiet. The sound of the iron doors creaking open could be heard from behind them, "Mmm, nice." Hydra said humming a pleasant tune to himself at their sixth victory. That made the Banshee, the Water Serpent, the Elvish King, the Hell Hound 'Cerberus', the Flaming Tiger and finally the Sandile or whatever it was called. "Are we missing any?" Hydra mulled to himself. Passed the gates Mist seemed to be waiting for them a curious look on her face. Turning back to Sey Hydra bowed his head slightly, "Thanks for blocking that final blow... now we can finally relax and get out of this place." The spearman chuckled, even if the enemies axe had landed he doubted it would have done much, yet Sey was still kind enough to block the blow for him. It was those acts which Hydra respected the most and those he wished to learn from in the future. Hoisting the 'Water Serpent's Fang' over his back the duo could finally head out. "Oh?" Hydra turned his head he forgotten this was a quest and it had been a while since he had levelled up. "Am I glad I bumped into Sey." He laughed to himself heading out the arena.

"Hmm..." It didn't take very long for them to go in and come back out. Mist must have counted to around a minute before the jagged iron gates swung open once more. The spearwoman did feel a little impressed, Hydra often talked about his questing partner Say yet there teamwork appeared to be next level. "I hope I can reach that level some day." Neither of them seemed to have even taken damage, let alone break a sweat. As they approached she stood silent and waited before finally congratulating them on there victory. "Well done." Mist laughed "Now where to next!" Her tone was light but still filled with wonder, despite Hydra having the expression that he just wanted to get off this floor by this point. Still there were at least another 15 floors to uncover she supposed if it was that versus spending days on end walking across desert she would rather go and check out all the different environments. On top of that Hydra had his store to run, so it would be unfair to keep him as some sort of body guard. "I suppose I should take some quests to help increase my level in that case."
