[PP-F9] Dousing the Flames <Itzal and Sey>

Recommended Posts

Itzal knew that Sey was balanced, which meant he had both damage and mitigation.  He also knew that Sey needed SP for his build.  Itzal hadn't done this quest either.  And it was relatively easy too.  For all these reasons Itzal stood on the ninth floor.  In truth he was rather excited.  He had never explored this floor before and it would be a new experience.  Itzal messaged Sey, sending the details of the quest and a request for him to join him if he wished.  This would be easy SP and afterwards they could explore a little bit, perhaps find a dungeon even.  Velnia did a loop the loop when he sent the message and Itzal chuckled before walking over to the teleport pad, leaning against a wall while he waited.  "Alright Velnia, calm down.  Although it would be interesting.  Lighting vs fire.  We both know which will win but still, it'll be cool.  When Sey gets here we can get started."  From the information he gathered, they had to defeat three hellhounds before the boss.  The hellhounds only had thirty health which would make this fast.  And the boss had three heads, all with seventy five health, which he could one shot easily.  If they attacked it was eighty each but that was if they hit Itzal.  And even then it wouldn't be much.  Not now that he hit level fifty.  He wondered if Sey had survival.  It would certainly help.

Fortunately, Sey had taken this quest already, so he knew what it was like. Easy. The monsters in it did not have any mitigation. For him, it would take him a little bit more than a oneshot. Instead, it would have been a twoshot, because the health of the monsters were just that low. It definitely made sense all right. So he would be on the ninth floor, holding his nose from the stench that it gave off, planning to take a nice relaxing long shower afterwards. For now though, that was not the goal or should be his focus. This would be either the second or third time he arrived on this floor, though he was not able to keep tracks thanks to however many times he ended up on the 17th floor. Regardless, he was now here once again on his third or fourth time. "Hey Itzal, hey Velnia. Are you both ready? Eh... In all honesty, it's not even too hard. We should be able to nail the boss in a few seconds if not sooner."

Itzal saw Sey walk from the portal and smiled at him.  Upon being greeted to, Velnia flew over to Sey, landed on his shoulder, and nuzzled against his cheek.  She always liked Sey, he was nice...  And had snacks she thought to herself as a bonus.  "Yeah I did some research into the matter.  After we ko this sucker we can gather some materials if you'd like.  Or go mob hunting.  Ninety damage isn't much against my health, especially with my Evasive skills.  And when I go switch my equipment to the looting gear, you can use howl to keep them off of me until I finish them off.  Although we should probably focus on this task first.  Come on, it's not far off."  As the two walked, Velnia remained on Sey's shoulder, her tail twitching back and forth.  When they were inside the cave, Itzal saw the Hellhounds and drew his blade.  "Let me take these guys out real quick."  The hellhounds saw Itzal approach and tried to leap and bite him, but Itzal was faster and released Vertical Square, taking all three out at the same moment.  He brushed his armor off.  "Well then.  Next is the boss right?  Let's take it out then."

"Wellll, that did not even take too long. Shall we advance further and get to the three-headed dog? I think it would be a good idea for you to change into your looting equipment right now. I should be able to do most of the damage on the first strike. After that, you can take over and do the final hit onto it, since I am pretty sure it would be pretty low on health at that point." Sey explained as he would place his hands behind the back of his head and with his brown eyes half closed. He was rather chill on this floor, despite how hot it was, considering how it was such an easy quest. Since Itzal never did it, it was more like free skill points for him. For Sey, it was just him repeating a quest to help someone. Though he was a little surprised to hear that Itzal never did this, despite his level. Then again, scout builds were not meant for fighting. Other players did exist though, Hydra was the one who helped Sey after all.

When Sey suggested he switch to his loot gear Itzal gave a puzzled face, though it really couldn't be seen under the hood and mouthpiece.  "Why's that?  We can't get loot from the boss other than it's drop item.  And we still have to encounter other mobs first.  I usually have my accuracy ring on during fights until the health is low enough for a final attack.  Then, when I switch to my prosperity ring, I figure I might as well switch my armor as well."  Velnia had watched how easily the hell hounds died and decided this wasn't going to be fun after all.  She rolled onto her back all bored like.  Itzal took a few more steps forward before he had heard the creature's growling.  He turned to Sey.  "Alright man, your up.  After this we can gather col or materials, I'm fine with each.  Maybe we could keep doing quests after this, who knows?  I heard there was a hunting quest series, so I might start on that soon."  Then the boss emerged.  It's appearance was frightening.  to most at least.  Itzal knew the stats and thus it's horrifying appearance didn't faze him in the slightest.

Ohhh, they were going to take some on right now. All right then, he could do what he would like then. “All right then, let’s look around. The damage around this floor is not the worst, so we should be fine. Do you have any mitigation or evasion by any chance? I don’t have howl yet, and my skill slots are currently full, so trying to get it is not an option either.” Until Sey was able to get a higher amount of mitigation, he figured that getting howl was not currently the best option on the list of things that they were able to do. Only for him to turn around and remember where they were. “Oh riiiight, about that…” Concentration active as he would spear through the enemy without any retaliation, taking out all three heads at once without retaliation. Nothing too new from it.

And with that the beast was dead.  He turned to Sey.  "Yeah, I've had three Evasion ever since I hit tier two.  Before that it was one evasion, one accuracy and one recovery...  I didn't really think at all beforehand.  I suppose I could tank at first and once it gets to the point I can't anymore you could take over?  I can take maybe....  Two hits tops.  the more I think about it maybe we should just gather materials.  I think gathering some extra mats shouldn't be a bad thing.  We can fight mobs later."  Velnia seemed upset at the sudden drop in climax but she got over it.  She began to fly around looking for anything.  Itzal turned to Sey.  "So how's your cafe?  I might be swinging by to purchase an ld item if you have one on hand."  Itzal looked around and spotted two song crystals.  Velnia flew by and dropped another two in his hand.  He nodded his thanks.

"Sure, could definitely use some materials right about now anyways." He would reply before looking around the scene to see if he could find anything worthy of being apart of the materials he would use. There were going to have to be a lot of materials if he wanted to reach his goal of making it to the top of his cooking profession. It was a long grind, and the materials were going to be very heavy in numbers, but he knew that he could get it. Once he did that, all he had to do was craft every day, perhaps buy some respites. Then he would be at the top, and from there, just about free access to any meal. "My shop is doing very well. I have the irrational goal of about 300 materials right now so that I can make it not just to the ninth rank of cooking, but the last rank as well. It's going to be a loooot of crafting, but I think it would be very well worth it as well."

Itzal nodded.  Since event bosses were starting to kick in more and more players could definitely use the materials for crafting buffs for themselves.  Since Asterios players will have to do it or else risk death.  Itzal prayed that the bosses would never again be so deadly.  Hopefully Kayaba was generous enough to notice his error in the creation of Asterios and never again make that mistake.  "Yeah, hopefully things turn out better for us all."  Then Sey started talking about how his shop was doing rather well and he mentioned how he wanted to get three hundred materials so that he could grind his way to the final rank.  His eyes widened a little bit and looked to him.  "Dang man, you're the one player I know who's been active nonstop and burning through levels in both actual levels and profession levels.  You've got to take a vacation soon man, take a break and just enjoy yourself."  He remembered how Kasier was the one who taught him to take it easy and not push himself so hard.  He was grateful for her in very well every way.  He looked around for materials but didn't spot any.  "Dang it.  Looks like Volcanic lands really are hard to find materials."  He opened his menu and switched from Niger Natio to Twilight cloak, his face being revealed again as the hood and mouthpiece were replaced with his purple trench coat.
