Silence, Fist, Rock (F2-Breaking The unbreakable) (Finished)

Recommended Posts

Sky watched as she decided to help her, watching her take a run up and go for a punch, but he quickly saw how badly it was about to go when she tripped over. He couldn't help but let out a small giggle, but he was quick to walk over and help pull her up, getting her on her feet.

"Missing isn't as embarrassing as punching it, and your the one who gets launched back" He says, blushing a bit while trying to make her feel a bit better about it. He quickly realized he had said something wrong, and added "But that was your first try, i bet next time you would smash it!"

He smiled, looking at the rock, running towards it and attemping to kick it, but once again only to push himself off the rock, rolling back a meter. Groaning in embarrassment, he rolled onto his stomach, pushing himself off. Once again he had launched off the rock onto his ass again....

She couldn't believe how stupid she just made herself look. She'd missed entirely! She used Stryder to lift herself up and watched as his attack failed entirely. It seemed this rock was beating both of them...How embarrassing. This was  game with monsters, and they were being beaten by a rock...

"Well...at least falling over didn't hurt..." she muttered to herself as she made a fist once again. If at first you fail, approach it from a different angle. Every problem has a solution, every person has  breaking point. So she just had to find the rocks!

She tightened both her hands into fights, and threw both of them into the rock as hard as she could. Not only did she NOT feel pain, but she made a sizable dent in it also, meaning she'd hit it! She smiled as she took a step back. She may not be specialized in combat, but she wasnt' entirely useless!

Sky smiled as he watched as she sized up to the rock, and punched it with both fists. He watched as not only did she not miss this time, but as both her fists hit it, they caused a dent and dealt some damage!!! The rock's hp seemed to have taken a actual hit, going down by a noticable amount for this time, but still had more then three quarters of its health.... This is going to take forever, im going to be an old piece of data by the time this thing is broken....

"Great job!!! Told you it doesn't hurt!" He says, getting up and going for a swing only to hit it, and nothing to happen. He quickly slumped down, he had just punched a rock and nothing had happened again.... He couldn't help but sigh as he completely messed up... this rock was bad... he hated it. It was evil, it was destroying his confidence to do anything.... It was breaking his will to actually do this!!!

"Why do rocks need to be so hard?"

She watched as he failed yet another attack. He was really struggling with this rock. It was, in one way, rather amusing to her. He reminded her of a certain pup she knew that, no matter how many times it failed, it repeated the same process again, and again, and again. The only difference being when its a dog with a stick too big to fit through the door, it's adorable. When its a person hitting a rock, less so.

She prepared to swing again, this time using only a single fist, her right. She swung it forwards and hit the rock!....Only nothing happened. She frowned and took a step back, looking at her hand. She knew she hit it...Did it just do no damage? She pouts slightly, but realized that it was bound to happen, given Stryder's failure rate to deal damage, it was merely a matter of time until she had a similar result.

Sky pulled his fist back quickly, punching the rock as hard as he could, but once again nothing had happened.... AT ALL... he did just no damage. He groaned audibly, wanting just to break this rock in two and get this over and done with.

"This.... is so frustrating!" He yelled as loud as he could, puffing for a moment before looking at Kath do the exact same thing he had.Punching, but doing no damage. He sighed, walking over to Kath.

"Even with help this is going to take forever... So what do you plan to call your shop?" He asked her. He wanted to open one himself, but he needed to break this rock first, so that he could actually go and find a location, till then, he was stuck here, punching a sitll rock, that he was somehow missing.... A still rock.... That he couldn't hit.... Somehow..... A rock....

"The name of my shop?" Eatos asked frowning at Stryder. She, in all honesty, hadn't really thought about it much. She'd just been trying to learn all she could about the economy of SAO before anything else. While she did have her plan, to open a blacksmithing shop to general income, she hadn't thought that far ahead! Although, now that Stryder had brought it up, she knew he was spot on. All the planning in the world was useless unless she had a name that she could use.

"I don't know yet, plus I've never been all that good with naming things. Hell, my pup back home can tell you that.." She said as she took another swing at the rock, connecting once again. However this time, she felt the rock budge a little, and spotted she had done some damage. She turned to face him "I called him simply Gluttony, mostly because even as a puppy he loved eating.."

Sky laughed at the name of the dog. Gluttony? He couldn't help but not love the irony in that name. He wished he had a dog with a name like that.... But his got a different name with a meaning of its own. He looked at the rock, and threw his fist at it again, but instead of damaging it like his companion had just managed to do, his arm bounced off again... His dog's name was not what he had.

"My dog was called Lucky.. Because we found him and took him in. Maybe you could call your shop something about your dog?" He suggested, trying to help her get inspiration for her shops name. And as he said that, he thought about what he would call his own when he got the change to. Maybe Lucky Cloth? No.. that sounded like a female.... cloth store... He sighed, staring at the Rock.

Eatos smiled at his suggestion, but shook her head. While Stryders' idea was very sentimental, and she did miss her beloved pet, a weapons store named Gluttony was a little silly, even by her standards, and she was abnormal at the best of times.

"I called him Gluttony because he ate a ton, besides, I have, well, as my friends called it, a slight obsession with the deadly sins of humanity. But, none of those really fit a shop name for weapons, except maybe Wraith..." She thought aloud as Stryder, once again, failed to do anything successful against the Rock. She took a step forwards, but failed to notice she'd caught her foot on a stray rock and collapsed onto her face. She stayed in that position for several moments before eventually sitting up, a look of sheer frustration on her face. How could she trip over a pebble?!

Wraith? That was something that could be worked with.

"Well, some idea's from Wraith could be Wraiths Shadow, Wraiths Fury.... Sins of Wraith..... How about Wraithed Blades?" He said, giving a few idea's that came to mind quickly. He was going to help this shop as best he could!!! He looked back at the rock, quickly throwing a powerhouse of a punch at it, but instead of directly hitting it, he tripped, going overhead and headbutting the thing, but he did damage!!! He was a little embarrassed about managing to do damage by tripping over and hitting his head on it, but it had worked, and thats all he cared about right now. He had done a hit, and if he continued maybe he would break it in an hour or two.

"Or you could name it Gluttonous Wraith?" He suggested, hoping he was being helpful, though he highly doubted he was.

Eatos listened to Stryder list off several shop names, and laughed at the last one. She knew she was bad about sins, but he was taking the wind out of her sails and firing off. Although, she did like the idea of 'Sin of Wraith', although she'd allow her mind to float more later. But he did have a good point, having something to do with the sins, while on a store name might look odd, felt right for her. After all, people back home had teasingly refereed to her as the girl of sin. It would only make sense that she, the 'girl of sin', had a store with the name of sin.

"I'm not sure yet" she said eventually "Although the ideas aren't that bad..." She took another swing at the rock, and hit the target, but did nothing "Urgh, this rock is like Sloth! Can't be bothered to even die" She complained as she took a step backwards.

Sky watched as Eatos got frustrated at the rock, much like he had. He couldn't help but not laugh, but decided to keep talking about her shop to keep the mood nice and easy. If they were frustrated, then well.... This wasn't going to go anywhere.

"Yeah this rock is so annoying.... How about we call your shop 'Wrath of the Rock?'. It would commemorate this day" He says, trying to make it sound joke like before squaring up the the rock and delivering a straight punch into a crack, causing it to split a tiny bit, but not a noticable amount.

Worst part about this is how much damage per hit.. its like im only doing one or two!!! How is this thing so strong... Its just a weak rock, why is it almost like an immortal object? Why... why... Why.... why. why..... I want this thing broken.... i don't care how...

The girl laughed at Stryders suggestion. While funny given their current situation of hitting a rock a stupid number of times, he did get her thinking and, unable to stop herself, she began to think outloud as she prepared for another swing at the rock. She found it far easier to think out loud, as if listening to herself externally helped her think in a more logical fashion.

"Hmm, Gluttony, the sin of overindulgence of food...Wouldn't really work with a blacksmith shop, people'll think it's a diner" She said as she closed her right hand into a fist and took a swing right after Stryder, and hit the damned rock, dealing some damage. It wasn't much, but it was there. As she took a step back, she allowed her mind to wander over the 7 areas she could name her shop. Gluttony, Wraith, Pride, Lust, Envy, Sloth, Greed. Those were the 7 deadly sins of Humanity, and as she'd stated, Gluttony wouldn't work. Not for what she wanted at least.

Sky was glad to hear her laughing. He remembered how she seemed when they first met, and although she wasn't any different, he was glad that she was at least seeming to have a little fun. Hearing the names she mentioned, the cafe, made him laugh a little as well. He looked at the rock, throwing a quick right hook, only to do no damage at all, his fist just tapping the rock. He groaned again, just glad that he had someone here to keep him sane.

"How about.... 'Iron Maidens Wrath?" He says, thinking of some random name that had something blacksmithy to do with, and he was surprised by what he had come up with. It actually worked as a name, and it sounded.... kinda cool? He liked the sound of it, but he knew ultimately it was up to her with what she called her shop, her call.

Iron Maidens Wrath?! Her biggest question was what the hell is an Iron Maiden, other than a really shitty song her roommate used to play from time to time. But he was right, at least in some regard, if she was naming her store a sin, which she wanted to do, it would almost have to be Wrath. After all, it was a blacksmith shop, and only one of the seven deadly sins of humanity fitted with conflict so perfectly.

"I couldn't use Lust, nor Envy. Pride just doesn't make sense, Sloth is basically the same....Greed, no, that might be me but not a weapons store.." She theorized out-loud, and came to the conclusion that Wrath was pretty much the option one she could use. Unfortunately, because she was thinking too hard about a shop name, she'd be slowly moving her feet, and stumbled on the same rock as before. The girl made an odd yelping noise as she it the ground, and groaned. Thankfully it didn't hurt, but still...it sucked to trip for being an air-head...

As Eatos fell, he held in the giggle that was trying to come out. He knew he had been there many times so far. Many times had he fallen in this last hour or two... however long they had been here for. But it was still funny watching someone think so hard that they fell over. He started laughing, going in for a punch, only to trip and faceplant right into the rock. He was so glad there was no pain receptors here, but emotionally, it still hurt like crazy, almost like a punch to the gut.

"Is that Karma for laughing?" He says to himself, and the world as he got up off the ground, staring at the rock. In a way, he respected this guest, it made him feel like he was actually a martial artist. You needed discipline, and nothing would make you more disciplined then punching a rock a thousand times....

"Yes it is" Was her instant reply to Stryders question. While she could fully admit it would be funny from his perspective, it was far from hers. This rock was proving an issue, then again, why wouldn't it be a pain in the ass. She dragged herself to her feet, and continued to think about a name. She went through the sins continually in her head, but there really was only one option. Wrath.

"Wrath...Wrath wrath..." She muttered the word several times, and took a swing at the rock right as it clicked. She finished her punch, but her mind was elsewhere and it was clear that she'd barely tried with her hit "Wrath....Wrath, sin....smithing...." She mulled over these words, her mind creating many different names for her shop, each being stored and compared.

At her response he felt a little bad, he had laughed at her misfortune and she had snapped at him with every right. He was pretty cruel to have laughed. He had been so distracted by his train of thought that as he had thrown a punch, his arm had just flopped, failing to respond. He snapped himself out of it, listening to Eatos talk more about a name. He thought himself, trying to think of an idea.

"Sinful smithing?" He said, before realizing it sounded like a failing buisness, opting to just be quiet with his idea's for now on. It was obvious she was sold on a name including Sin, and Wrath seemed to be the one she was fixated on. He thought hard, trying to think of names, though all his sounded stupid, like always. Lusty Dagger..... Vengeful wrath.

"Would a name like 'The Wrath of Sin' Work?"

Despite Stryders attempt to help by giving names, Eatos stood still and thought, blocking him out entirely. It wasn't her trying to be rude, but rather, her brain working overtime and being unable to take any additional stimuli at its current capacity. She tapped her foot on the ground, before hitting the rock out of frustration, and failing to even dent it. Still silent, the girl walked away from the rock, and sat herself down on the edge as she continued to think. Hundreds of different words filtered into, and out, of her mind as she attempted to create a shop name she'd be proud off. Something that would draw in people, and where, where she was establish herself. As all this occurred in her mind, her body was still, sat down on the edge of a mountain cliff.

Sky watched as Eatos walked over, having hit the rock out of pure anger but doing next to no damage... well, absolutely no damage. She seemed way to into thought, as if it was taking over every little brain cell she had. It was kinda sad to watch, she seemed like she wasn't fully enjoying life, more like pondering what to do next... something he should be doing more, especially now that this was a death game.

Looking at the rock, he spins, delivering a powerkick to the rock, delivering another dent. Cheering, he punched a fist in the air, glad he had hit it again, though pulling it down, knowing it was to soon to celebrate just yet. He had to break it first, shatter it into a million different pieces. Then, he could celebrate and have fun. Then he could finally never come up this mountain again, he hated it.

"Eatos you alright?"

The girl didn't seemingly react to Styder in the slightest as he said her name. She was, at that current moment, completely incapable of doing so. Her mind was consumed by a single thought process, to create a name for a store she'd be proud to have. She knew mostly what she wanted, but the finer details where what sold it all. It would need to be a good name, and its location would be key. Somewhere that people would see it, and be drawn in, but also a place she'd want to spend her time.

She's found her location, she knew where she wanted to live. Now it was just a matter of finalizing a name, she was so close she could almost taste it! But she was still piecing it together, and they weren't easy to do...Even with it consuming her mind, every piece of her mind, every cell biting and biting, trying to grab a bite of what she was hunting.
