[F2-PP] A unwanted detour <<Long live the Queen>>

Recommended Posts

He just nods his head at being told if he really wants to go and see this. Obviously so also. The chance to see a easy method of gaining materials, or even something better is always welcomed and very useful in the long run. Since more materials mean more items he can put into his shop whenever he gets to actually making anything. Being without any materials was quite the hindrance towards actually making any progress. Hopefully that man Hei can finish up his gear, and doesn't run out of materials while doing so. The waiting period could be the death of him depending on what he goes to try and fight.

Mars follows the individual known as pinball to his little fishing spot not feeling threatened at all that this could be some kind of trap. After all what could come of this even if this person was deceitful, and a trickster in nature towards him. Not much he could assume, but having his guard up well be necessary just encase. The threats of traps and such are something to be careful of since player killers and their helpers can come in many shapes and forms. To be defensive, and suspicious of everything is just basic survival in here. It's use or be used in his mind, and he refuses to be the one that is used.  Eventually though Pinball does push away some bush to reveal a small fishing area as he enters into the area and just stands and looks around figuring he'll try to find something before the fishing actually commences. Sadly nothing is found that could be of use for him as far as he is aware of it. With that he walks over and watches the fishing happen and raises a eyebrow seeing three fishes being caught at once. Seems like this is a really reliable way to get materials then. Certainly their is some kind of downside. Right? he asks you as he gazes directly at you. Expecting a catch since this could otherwise be to convenient to him.Everything has a drawback to make it balanced.

Pinball cast his line in again, then, as he waited, answered Mars's question. "Well, yeah, of course there's a downside to it." Taking the waiting period as an opportunity to sit down, Pinball continued. "For starters, the point investment for the skill is pretty steep. I could have spent those points in a combat skill, for instance." He reeled in his line, gathering another material. "Then there's always that one risk..." He stared into the water, recalling his fight with the Shark King boss on the Fourth Floor. If Stryder hadn't been there to kill it, Pinball wouldn't be here right now. "There's a chance of reeling in a loot monster. Or, if you're really unlucky, a boss monster." He shuddered. "I can tell you from experience; they aren't very pleasant to deal with." He shrugged, leaned back in the grass. "But, on the other hand, if you're really lucky," he continued with a small smile, "you can reel in one of those tasty treasure chests."

He grins a bit at hearing this downside. A chance to fight loot monsters, or gain materials or even a treasure chest. That is all a bonus for being able to fight mobs with ease as long as their is another ally to try to help out with something that could be over your head. If not then everything is rather simple to deal with, and can only be a bonus and completed rather easily. Well Pinball i honestly don't see a downside to this. Their is only opportunity for being able to work in your profession or fight a monster for some rather good loot. That is only a bonus in my mind since getting more is always better. Just be safe by having an ally and everything can be handled with ease. He says rather calmly as he sits down looking as another material is fished up. Hmm Pinball is their anyway i can try to earn half or at leas a quarter of what you fish up here? Since i'm not doing any work it would be rather rude to ask for any without trying to do something to earn any of them. He asks in a polite manner as he looks at the player. Actually speaking genuinely for once without any acting being involved. Everything should be earned through hard work not just handed onto people by a silver platter. While he would like them for free that is for certain. To earn them would be more rewarding, and interesting depending on whatever task could be given.

Pinball sat and waited for the fish to bite. Then, he listened as Mars asked for half the materials. He had really been planning on splitting the materials down the middle from the start; he had assumed that it was common practice among players fighting in groups. But, Mars wanted to earn his share. "Earn them, huh?" Pinball stared at the water, thinking... when there was a sharp tug. "Oh!" It wasn't the normal feeling of fish biting, but something much heavier. It wasn't quite as heavy as he knew a boss monster's pull usually was, but it was still a monster. "Help me kill this thing, yeah?" As soon as Pinball finished his question, a humanoid fish wielding a halberd hopped out of the water. It wore light leather armor, and slammed the end of the halberd into the dirt. It really looked like a green man with a fish's head. The monster's health bar appeared, and it initiated combat. The monsters on this floor weren't particularly powerful, so when the Fish Soldier's halberd sliced clean across Pinball's chest, he wasn't surprised with the amount of HP lost. Pinball would be able to take more than enough hits to survive this encounter. "This thing might be a bit tougher than the Wasp. I'll back you up - if I don't miss."

He waits patiently for a response, and then hears mention of a fight happening soon as he watches the fishing pole get caught on something seemingly like all the other times. 'So it seems that it seems the negative side of fishing is coming up through this. Interesting, but a the very least it should prove a challenge, and if it doesn't then that just means easy loot in the end.' He thinks to himself as he watches as a...fishman gets out of the lake. He just stares at the sight and watches as it attacks his comrade not really knowing how to react to seeing such a strange sight. Pinball whenever you go fishing feel free to bring me along. these fights seem like they would be rather interesting to participate in if this is just a small sample. He says to the man right by his side with a grin appearing on his face as he quickly launches himself at this creature intending to use one of his stronger sword arts to deal the most amount of damage to this thing to try and take a sizeable amount of its health down. He looks at the fishman and tries to strike it and fails utterly and horribly. Going right past it, and into the lake. He comes up out of the water spitting out lake water from his mouth. 'Never use a sword art you haven't practiced before. Great lesson to keep in mind.' He thinks angrily to himself as he slowly pulls himself out of the water looking absolutely livid at what just happened.

Pinball watched as Mars flung himself into the lake with a poorly aimed attack. He looked pretty angry about it, so Pinball kept his mouth shut. Pinball quickly decided what to do, and saw it through. He would throw himself at the Soldier, taking a hit if need be. He would then follow up with a stun, which would let Mars get another free hit in. Mars did much more damage than Pinball could at the moment, so it was really the best course of action for the both of them. He jumped forward, and the Fish Soldier raised its halberd, swinging down on Pinball's head. Pinball, not exactly keen on getting bludgeoned, pivoted so that the blade only cut along his side. Pinball was painfully aware of the damage that caused him. Maybe this monster wasn't the pushover it had appeared to be. Not wasting any time, Pinball activated Side Bite, the only Sword Art he had access to that gave him a stun attack. He darted forward, his knife flashing across the Fish Soldier's side. The fishman dropped to its knees, using the end of its weapon to keep itself from giving the dirt a kiss. Pinball jogged over to Mars, urgently waving his dagger. "I stunned him," he breathed, "but he won't be down for long. Hurry!"

He just looks at the fish that hit him with a gaze burning with fury as he slams a fist into his open palm planning to make this creature hurt for daring to mess with him as he gains tunnel vision for this creature. Only seeing it as his target, and nothing much else besides it. He doesn't eve notice the fact somehow his helmet that comes with his armor somehow fell off. Just staring at the solider fish with absolutely hate. He charges towards the creature and jumps up into the air and quickly swings his leg down smacking the fish man into the face hard with his right leg sending it flying back into the lake with pure rage burning in his eyes as he lands on the ground. When his foot connected to the face of his target he lets out a merciless, and aggressive tone. NEVER MESS WITH A LASAIRIONA! He then lands on the ground and waits for the fish to come back with the same merciless and furious look upon his face never leaving.

Pinball watched in awe as the Soldier's health bar plummeted. Mars's attack put the creature in the yellow zone. It also put the creature's face in the dirt. A few more good attacks, and the fishman would be a goner. Pinball didn't know how long Mars could keep it up, but Energy always ran out at one point. As the fisherman stood, it attempted to retaliate with a wild upward slash, but the attack went wide, and Mars was left completely unharmed. Pinball rushed in, activating his Side Bite again. He was going to stun it once more, just to let Mars have another free attack on it. If Mars couldn't keep up the costy attacks, he would stop stunning it to try and conserve his own energy. The Emerald Shiv dug into the Fish Soldier's side once more, leaving a healthy red gash along its side. The monster flopped back onto the ground, once again stunned. This time, it wasn't able to hold itself up. Pinball reckoned when the monster did get up, it would be furious. With two targets, one or both of them weren't going to make it out of the battle completely unharmed. Pinball stepped back, giving room for Mars to do his thing.

He looks at the face as it tries to strike him and simply side steps the attack with ease as he glances at his energy bar and scowls at the lack of energy to do any meaningful damage. Seems like it will be for the best to just hope his regular attacks can be enough to hit this creature until he can start using his sword arts once more. He quickly gets into a boxers like stance and then rushes towards the creature to give it a good punch to the face to give it a little scratch within its health pool. he moves on over to the unmoving fishman and then punches it hard in the face injuring it ever so slightly as he glares at the creature. As he then stands straight and backs away from it as fast as he can preferring to not be smacked around by the halberd it could use if far enough, or just be choked out by a fishman. Not even giving his companion a spared glance almost as if he forget that Pinball was their.

Pinball followed Mars with his eyes as the man walked away. He didn't even offer a glance at Pinball. He shrugged it off. It probably wasn't personal. Pinball saw the Fish Soldier charging, so he activated a Sword Art and rushed it. However, the halberd's threatening point was enough to make Pinball flinch, and, the Soldier, upon seeing Pinball's glowing knife, jumped backwards as well. It got impressive air, for a fish out of water, and the distance between the three increased. Pinball took this oppurtunity to jog over to Mars. "You alright?" A pause. "You... you uhh, you think you could pull off another one of those fancy attacks?" Pinball looked back at the Fish Soldier, who was jumping up and down, making angry glub glub sounds. "We should probably kill it." Pinball sighed, his heart heavy. "I can't help but feel kind of bad for it, though." Pinball stretched his arms. "Ah, well. Guess it can't be helped. It's him or us, after all. Should I go for another stun, do you think?"

Hearing the annoying voice of his "ally" makes him snap back to reality for only a moment. Just enough to try and act calm toward this boy that is talking to him. I am fine Pinball. As i said to this walking tuna can when i hit him. No one embarrasses a Lasairiona and gets away with it. The man whose last name is given, and username is known says calmly before looking directly at you with a pathetic emotional look almost. Don't show mercy to your enemies. When you do so you allow them a chance to exploit that, and try to make you pity them. When they have your pity that is when they will strike you down as you try to help them. So don't try to feel pity for these creatures or any that become your enemies. He says as he starts walking towards the fish man. For that is when you will see your last glimpses of life.  He runs towards the fist and tries to slam his knee into the fish, but gets it smacked away by the haliberd of the fish man. He then sees the pointed end come towards him as he quickly ducks out of the way and start backing away snaking around the weapon and staying closer to the ground to avoid the arcs of its swings. I wish that tailor would've finished his crafting by now so i could actually be hitting this fish if he had it done! He says in annoyance.

The sudden hostility caught him off guard. He was once again reminded of what he didn't like in the man. He was going to offer a retort when the man started to approach the fish. "Nobody embarreses a Lara-tuna or whatever," he grumbled to himself. "I'll show him." Pinball charged at the fish, running past Mars. As he ran past, he pat him on the shoulder. "Keep up, yeah?" He winked, turned, and kept running, his dagger glowing as he activated a Sword Art. The beauty of using a dagger was the flexibility it offered in your movement, and this flexibility showed itself in Pinball's attack.

As Pinball rushed, the Fish Soldier lowered its halberd, hoping to skewer him. But Pinball was ready for this. He leapt into the air, flipping mid-jump to add a touch of flair. He landed behind the Soldier, twisted, and finished his Sword Art. His blade sliced through the Soldier's thin leather armor with a lovely rip, leaving a deep red gash along the Fish's side. The stun rendered the Fish Soldier immobile, and it dropped to his knees, using the halberd as support... until Pinball kicked the weapon from under him. The Soldier's weapon clattered along the dirt, and the Fish Soldier collapsed, stunned. Pinball grinned, turned to Mars, and took a bow that just screamed arrogance. "Had a good point about not showing mercy." Pinball laughed, putting his dagger in its scabbard. "Didn't do too much damage, but you can finish it off, I'm sure." His voice dripping with a strange mix of bitterness and pride, he stepped aside, giving Mars enough room for his attack.

he looks at this little upstarting s**t that is daring to give him any sas. He then chuckles and just outright laughs at this little boy who thinks he can give HIM sas! This kid has guts, and he likes that immensely. He looks straight at Pinball with a grin. I like you kid you got guts seems like you are more then just meets the eye. He says calmly letting more of his true self slip out ever so slightly with his own tone having a slight annoyance, but also pride in how this kid is acting. Dropping the fake pleasantries with this Pinball, and just letting a cold cool demeanor slip through. he turns back to the boss and tries once more to land a successful delayed sword attack, but just gets smacked across the field by the thing as its stun wears off. You little!  THAAT IS IT! he says in pure anger that will refuse to die down now. Planning to end this miserable ingrate of a mob for daring to make a fool! A fool of him no less! He will kill it! he will! Nobody will stop him from making sure of that!

Pinball watched as Mars missed again. He sighed, then started to pull his dagger back out, but the Fish Soldier was click. The stout little monster rolled, retrieved his halberd, and stabbed Pinball in the chest before he could draw his weapon. Pinball gasped, and instinctively jumped backwards, putting as much distance between the two as he could. With Mars missing his attack, and Pinball not being able to form a proper attack, they would soon have to resort to attacking with basics. And Pinball knew from experience that a mob could wreak havoc when left to do as it pleased. Pinball quickly glanced at his health bar. It was steadily draining, and Pinball was not very pleased with the pacing. He nodded to Mars. "We need to finish this. Quickly." Pinball pulled out his dagger, much more wary about the Soldier's movements. What with all the stuns, Pinball had thought the monster as harmless. Now, watching it deal a good amount of damage... Not so much.

He just stares at this fishman with a livid look and tries to hit him once more only to miss the thing again as it just bats him away like a child. He just stares at this thing with extreme hatred, and prejudice. Not even caring anymore if their are any side casualties, or anything. Wanting to make this thing hurt, and pay for making it miss him for three times in a row. he is absolutely just done with what this game is trying to pull upon him. he shouldn't be having problems with some kind of frog creature after he thoroughly  thrashed that queen wasp just moments ago in comparison. His hands gripped tightly in a fist as his only thoughts is how much he is going to be after he gets his items, and how much he wants to punch this fishman, and slowly watch the life leaves its eyes as he made sure to give it a slow death that could be possible through this game.

Pinball watched Mars seethe for a moment, then turned his attention back to the monster. Saying nothing, he stared at the mob in front of him. He activated Round Accel, the last and only Sword Art he could do, and darted in. He was very close when the monster, using speed Pinball wouldn't think possible for a monster of its stature, switched stances. Pinball ran directly into the lowered end of a halberd. Luckily, his leather breastplate kept him from being completely skewered. Instead, Pinball was blown backwards by the force of the impact. Even more of his health was chipped away. He was slowly getting lower and lower, but he refused to ask Mars to Switch with him. No, not after he had put on that cocky display. He could take a few more hits, easy. Pinball glared at the monster's diminishing health bar. "Soon," he muttered to himself. Pinball gripped the handle of his dagger, scowled, and waited.

He looks as this child before him actually hit the creature. The one where he had missed it so many times! He will not stand for this! He will be the one to kill it not some weakling with a attitude and some sad! He just blindly charges forward and knees the creature in its spine with a audible impact and sound from the force behind his hit. he then reels his right fist back and punches it hard in the neck making sure his fist follows through on the attack in its whole slamming the creature down into the ground with a loud thud. To Mars this is satisfaction, this is his vengeance, and this proves he is superior to that little cocky s**t that dared to act superior to him. He then slowly stands up and slams his foot down on the fish as it shatters into nothing as he then lowers his foot to the ground to stare at the man named Pinball with a grin. Your monster is dead. Why don't you take a small rest to recover that health, and our energy encase you plan to fish anything else up. He says with a grin on his face. His tone being a slight snarky and sad repaying back what you did earlier.

Pinball snorted angrily, and walked back to the side of the stream. He took a seat, landing with a thump. He was glad he had killed it, but the man named Mars somehow managed to get under his skin. He had long since come to the conclusion that this man meant him no harm... even if he did have a bit of an anger problem. Pinball himself had gotten rather heated during the battle, too. However, all and all, Pinball was rather glad that the man dropped his polite act. He would much rather be around a rude person who was completely honest with themselves than a polite, fake personality. Pinball watched the stream rush by. He leaned back, using his arms to support his weigh. Then, he sighed, smiling. "Nice kill. That was fun." Under normal circumstances, being around such an aggressive person would rub off on Pinball, and he himself would be aggressive in return. But, there was something about battle that forged bonds, and Pinball, after all was said and done, was a man with a soft heart. "Yeah, I'll heal a bit, then we can do some more fishing, if you'd like.

Mars looks at this individual hiding the slight surprsie that the man wasn't immediately going into accusation, and anger mode like he imagined most would when they realize they're being tricked. Which means he must've known about his act and slipped up somewhere, or he just prefers some kind of attitude over the others. Either way it will at least allow him to drop this insufferable act of politeness. So with that he just sits down, and waits for the amount of time where the energy will just auto fill up entirely. You're a strange man Pinball. You saw how aggressive i am yet you didn't run away like i would expect most people to when they realize i could end them within a moment. Surprising, but welcomed i supposed at least i won't have to act at the very least which is much less taxing then acting everything to perfection. Which usually works. Most of the time, but i guess you're somehow an exception to that rule. Mars says to you with a look of just only slight interest, and just no other emotion. As if looking at something that could serve as only a possible idle fancy. So why don't you tell me. What gave it away? Just a feeling confirmed by acts later? Or did i somehow fail during my act. Mars asks you.

Pinball listened as Mars told him what was on his mind. Pinball stared into the water, listening. He felt very uncomfortable talking about stuff like this, and his face lit up a bright red. "W-well, It's not really like you failed. In the beginning, I could tell something was a bit... off. But I'm not really one to jump to conclusions, so I just kept my mouth shut and acted how I would around someone I just met." Pinball then lay back, his hands supporting his head. "When you started to get angry during the battle, I knew what was up. I don't claim to know why you act the way you do, but I know the polite guy I met by the quest board isn't the guy I'm talking to right now." He sighed. The battle had tired him out. "And that's good, in my opinion. I value honesty in people, and honesty isn't always polite, nice, or pretty. There's no shame in that... But that's just me, I guess." Pinball shrugged. He didn't want to risk fishing just yet, so he let his health heal. He would have gone into deeper detail about how he knew how to look out for stuff like that, but he stopped himself. That would be getting too into his own personal life, and Pinball didn't want to expose himself to every single person he met. "By the time my energy heals back up, I'll start fishing again. Hopefully I don't reel in a boss.
