PP/F4) A true companion (Feeding the Enemy)

Recommended Posts

In part, Embers felt like this was a bad idea. The wolfess was weak, so its life was forfeit as a result. That's the way of nature, the weak and unneeded were culled for the strong. That's the law of the jungle and, honestly, how wild animals did their business. Getting in the way in it, left a bad taste in the girls mouth. But, whats done is done. Hell, maybe the injured world might even becomes the Kids familiar which he was searching for.

One by one, the pair of them went in to fight the wolves. Stryder too one of them low, and the bluenette finished it off. They worked well, even more given they didn't plan it out verbally. Embers, unlike them, had a different plan. Hit the wolf until it died. So that's what she did. She ran in, using her Whirlwind ability to slam the Wolf, injuring it, but not killing it.

"That wolfess is weak, she deserves her fate kid. But, if you're so insistent of fighting for those who are too weak. Well, a fights a fight"

Sky watched as Eatos came in, slashing around a few times. She was doing well! Especially since she wasn't.... Fully well versed in using sword arts yet. She managed to kill one of the wolves, namely, the one who he had hits pressure points. It annoyed him that the skill didn't allow him to actually Stun them, or at least weaken them, hell it lets him hit all there weak points.

In his moment of thought, both the wolves leapt at Sky, who turned just in time to raise an arm, the wolf hunter latched into his arm, and Sky felt a slight bit of Phantom pain in his arm, even though the game didn't let him actually feel anything. Then, the pack leader came in, a claw slashing Sky's stomach, red lines appearing through it. He was pissed, these thigns weren't letting up. With his spare hand, which went bright blue, be brought it down, a devistating right punch that smacked into the wolf pack leader, who had hung around him trying to get a bit in, the blow sent the wolf into a tree, shattering the wolf into a billion pieces.

"Guess i'v made an enemy of fate, let it come" He says, acting a little cocky as he showed Embers a carefree face.

The fight turned quickly turned overwhelming in their favour as her amber eyes watched the battlefield change. She could hear her heartbeat within her chest, the worlds only constant if she was honest. One of the wolves fell to her blade, and the pack leader fell to Stryders hand. The fight, which had been a three on three, was now a one against three. The solo wolf was already dead, and if it was smart, i would have backed away. However, pride must be in the pack. This last wolf opted to continue the fight. Perhaps, it knew that Stryder would never let it live for what it had been doing.

The girl kept out of the argument discussion between Embers and Stryder. They both were right, in their own way. Ember lived life by the nature of the jungle, survival of the fittest. While Stryder believed in its direct opersite. Where you must protect every single life regardless of its use. As for her? Well, she wasn't too sure which side she stood.

The wolf was her target, and she made two quick cuts. Her damage wasn't a ton, but it was enough to take something away from its Health Bar. The girl was silent as she closed her eyes. This fighting, it reminded her of another time. She shook her head! She could dwell in her self-loathing later, she was in a fight.

The blacksmith girl existed, but opted to silence. Embers glared over at her. Ever since her arrival, Eatos had gone radio silent. Embers would be the first to admit that she knew little, to nothing, about the girl and what she was like. However, her face gave a slight shiver down her spine. That wasn't the face of an innocent girl, that was the face of someone gripped by insanity. The bluenette with now-closed eyes, was hiding something deep.

But that was something she could discover at her leisure. Mostly because Stryder was being annoying! More than the wolf, so she did an, admittantly, half-assed swing at it, and glared at the boy. The annoyance in her eyes was that of a painting. Clear and bold.

"Don't blame fate Kid. Blame this wolf for being too weak to stand up for itself. Blame the wolf for being an easy target and getting run out becasue it couldn't get the allies to compensate for its weakness. And blame your inability not to get involved whenever a lost soul cries out for help"

It annoyed her a lot. This idiot kid had said to treat this world like the real world, so let it happen. This wolfess was nothing special, just one of the many you could encounter and kill. So what made this one so damn special. Embers had some mind to kill the wolfess, JUST to prove a point to the kid.

Sky watched as Eatos went in doing some damage, again showing some expertese... But something was different this time. He could feel something changing in her, mainly the vibes he was getting. Somethign was up... and he would ask about it afterwards. He turned to respond to Ember, laughing a little at her, though obviously a little... disturbed by the feeling he was getting from his friend.

"If you call one verse three a fair fight then somethings wrong" He says back, but before being able to continue saying anything else he winced. The wolf hunter who had been biting his arm had let go, and with insane speed and accuracy had slashed his neck. His HP bar dropped significantly, entering the yellow. His HP had never gone that low in a fight before, ever. His eyes snapped. He was going to defend himself and those around him. The wolfess behind him whinned a little, obviously scared for its life.

Skys right arm went bright blue as he reached out with his left, grabbing the wolf's neck, its fangs still in his neck and draining his HP. He pulled it off, the red lines staining his neck as he held it out, and punched it. The wolf exploded, the fight now over.

Turning around, Sky went to the wolfess, his face returning to normal.

"Your safe now, alright?" He says, smiling. As he says that, something appears on his hud... a little, heart? Under his status bar. It kind of confused him, but he had a good idea what it was. And his next words counted.

"I think... I'm going to call you Silver. Silver Aurora" He says to the wolf, bringing his hand near its face. Normally, he would have gotten bitten. But this time, he didn't. As he brought his hand close, the wolf moved its head, nuzzling his hand. He smiled, glad he had finally found a companion.

Despite the fight still occuring, the bluenette was no longer in Sword Art Online. At least, not mentally. She had tried, oh so hard, to not go down the rabbit hole that existed within her mind. But holding a blade, fighting. It always brought her back there. To those alleys, to those fights...She shook her head, trying, and failing to push the images out of her mind. Ever since Silver, or Thorsten, had come back, it had been worse than ever. The shock of Sword Art Online had allowed her to forget, or at least, ignore, all the images that existed within her mind. It seemed, the more she fought, the more she found herself back within those places. Blood...

She forced her eyes open, the darkness vanishing from her face, buried deep behind her amber eyes as she looked around. It seemed the fight, was over? She looked to see the wolves gone, and Stryder was petting the surviving wolfess. It seemed, finally, he had gotten himself a familiar. At her side, Angel stood. The large Husky seemed unaware of her mental absense, as did, hopefully, everyone else.

Eventually, the girl walked over to Stryder, but kept her distance. "It seems, finally, you're successful in finding yourself a familiar. Silver Aurora, hopefully she'll make you happy" Despite where her mind had been, and still was, she couldn't not smile as she glanced at the Husky at her side. This world, with a familiar, was one that you could still make yourself happy in.

Embers rolled her eyes. Did this kid not get it? Maybe he was dumber, or more ignorant, than she gave him credit for. The wolf was being killed for her weakness, both physically and socially. In this case, the wolf was physically too weak to ensure her own dominance. Anyone who said females needed protection often found themselves needing protection from her.

Lacking the physically power to protect herself, you'd need to forge social bonds. Admittantly, Embers didn't know how to do this, she had always replied on herself and no one else. So this was simply the wolves inability to be strong and social. The wolf was to blame, and the kids inability to let nature to its thing. The fight was cleaned up quickly, but the crimson eyes of Embers met something rather interesting. The blacksmith, was in her own head. But more importantly, she knew that look on her face. She walked up to the Kid, bumping his shoulder and pointing towards his friend.

"Kid. That look on her face, I've seen some things that'll tear skin from bone. But that's not the face of some innocent girl whose been spoon-fed her entire life. There is something there, tell me when you find out" She could have said what that face was. Embers had a good idea about what she was seeing, but the kid would find out. Then the Kid would, in turn, tell her. And if he didn't, well, it would confirm to her all that she knew. That face alone. Was the face of someone who had claimed a life.

A human life.

Sky smiled at both of them as he rested the wolfesses head on his lap, sitting next to her. He could see her health bar, it was slowly recovering, meaning she was going to be fine. He looked at Eatos, noticing she was keeping her distance a little. She praised him about finally getting a familiar, in which he simply smiled back at her kindly. He wasn't about to let what he had seen before change how he thought of her. Then, Embers came over, telling him soemthing. Eatos was out of earshot it seemed, having turned her focus to Angel.

Sky's face went a little grim as he heard what she said. She was right... that wasn't the feel of some innocent rich girl. Something was bothering her.... And he was going to find out what. His face returned a little to how it normally was as he responded to the girl.

"I'l find out soon. When i know something, i'l let ya know" He says, before smiling at Silver. He had finally gotten a familiar... And he was ready to finally start having some company and living!

CONCLUSION

Stryder - 2 SP - 133 Col

Eatos - 1 SP - 134 Col

Embers - 2 SP - 133 Col
