[PP-F3] The bull meets the hunters <<Search for the Hoya>>

He grins watching the minotaurs be attacked, but surprisingly seeing only one minotaur be hit by the attack as he sighs softly. Wondering why this fight seems to be going more exhausting then it should be for the two warriors. That it should be easier then what they are doing as he glances at the surroundings, and then towards the enemies. Pinball i will leave combat temporarily recover for one turn, and then come back. For yourself just stay alive shouldn't be to difficult in all honesty. With those words said he jumps over the minotaurs, and moves into one of the darker areas of the slowly closing in room. The only thing being visible is the eery yellow/amber like color of his eyes he has as he stares from the shadows. His familiar making its way over towards its master.

Pinball watched anxiously as Mars hopped and ducked out of combat. He was on his own until Mars recovered his energy. It was up to Pinball to fend the monsters off until that, so that Mars could come back and finish them off. He rushed, activating the only Sword Art he had the energy to use: Sonic Charge. He hit the first minotaur flat in the chest, taking a heavy slash across the arm as a result of that - but it was too late for the monster. Ice crept up the monster's body until it was completely covered. The sonic wave generated by the Sword Art didn't seem to effect one of the minotaurs, but it certainly hit the frozen one. The monster's icy confines shattered, and his halt dipped considerably. Weirdly, the ice was suspended in the air around it, the shards not disappearing like they usually did. Instead, they flung themselves back onto the monster, once again imprisoning the poor beasts. Pinball laughed, looking over to where Mars was stalking him in the corner. "That's new!" he exclaimed. "I've never frozen something back to back like that. What are the odds?"

He watches as the battle continues as he heals a third of his energy as he then grins thinking no would be a good time possibly, but their is always the possibility he could miss. With such a thought he sighs and remains seated where he is calmly just watching the fight rather then participating in the event that he could end up missing an aoe type of attack. Though the sight of two minotaurs being entirely frozen over is a rather surprising one especially with how Pinball's luck has been lately during this entire fight. So much wasted energy during this fight just like one of their previous encounters sadly. Congratulations Pinball you managed to freeze two of them. A rather nice addition to your impressive track record of freezing over all, but sadly lacking record during this fight. he says in amusement before quickly moving to another of one of the shadowey area as the last unfrozen minotaur looks around to where he just heard Mars' voice, but finds nothing so turns back to you.

He smiled awkwardly, a bit embarrased. It was true. He hadn't been too good with his freezes. He looked between the three monsters. He grinned, looking over to Mars in the corner. "Aw, man. I'm the one fighting, aren't I?" He only had enough energy for a basic attack. Ducking under the swipe of the unfrozen minotaur, he tapped the weakest one, bringing its health down even lower. He didn't have enough energy to hit the other one, sadly. He darted back, his spear feeling weirdly heavy in his hands. He was getting sloppy. "When you can, rejoin the fight. I'm out of energy, so I'm going to focus on dodging so I can try to pull of another freeze." He took a few steps back... nearly touching the spikes of the wall. "Jesus!" he exclaimed. How did they get so close? The walls had suddenly jumped forward during Pinball's skirmish. They were really running out of time now. "We need to hurry this up," he worried, looking up the flight of stairs that led to the overworld.

He looks towards the minotaurs as he lets the energy gather around his legs as they get covered in green colored energy necessary for a sword art as he quickly kicks off towards the enemy as he passes by them with only the scene of the three minotaurs being flung into the spikes killing them instantly letting people know Mars had attacked the three creatures. After the attack he grabs the pendant, and then looks towards Pinball. The pendant quickly changing into a all black color with the crown of the minotaur king being what the chain attached to. Lets get out of here Pinball our purpose has been completed during our stay here. We need to leave before we die via this death trap. he says calmly as he quickly makes his way down the exit that was opened up for the two players.

The two made their ways up the stairs. A sharp slam was heard from behind them, and the throne rolled back into place to cover the door. They were quickly enveloped in darkness, but that changed when they pushed out of the tunnel. Sunlight greeted the two of them, and Pinball smiled. He dropped face first onto the grass. "Sweet baby jesus," he sighed, rubbing his head against the grass. "I missed this." He rolled over onto his back, smiling, his spear beside him, though not held in his hand. "The sky, too." He stretched a bit before sitting up. "Wow. What a ride!" He laughed, scratching the back of his neck. He had not been expecting that. It seemed like an uneccesary thing to go through. He hadn't heard of players going through that before. Was it because the system recognized their levels, and tried to scale the quest accordingly? He knew the Cardinal system was advanced, but even that seemed crazy to Pinball. "What was all about that, do you think?" A few words came back to him. "A pact has been broken," he echoed. "Or something. Can't remember."

he looks out over the area with a grin to himself enjoying the sight he is seeing after having escapes that maze, and surprisingly allowing the players to escape with ease. It was a rather interesting time for certain, and out of the ordinary from the normal player experience from what i have heard also. Though this just means that we will have to take extra caution when approaching new quests since they might become more interesting. Not that i'm complaining of course to have such trials awaiting us is rather a nice rush of thrill to be certain. he says with a chuckle escaping his lips excited for what could be lying for the duo ahead of them in their journeys in taking on this game and trying to escape. After they have their little bouts of trying to prove who is the better among them. Well if you're referring the the pact there are two theories that could be involved in this. One is that their is going to be some kind of floor out their about minotaurs we should be wary of, or it could be this event boss i have heard got defeated called a general, colonel, and lieutenant with each of these being minotaurs of great strength. It could be the Cardinal system trying to tie in the event boss into these fights which would make me curious if their is any other secrets lying around on this floor. He says with a grin appearing on his face.

He listened to Mars' guesses curiously. Weirdhe thought. He shook his head, grabbing his spear and using it to push himself up. "Ah, well," he sighed happily, "at least it's over." He stretched again, rolling his head. "So, what next?" He knew he had said they'd go fishing, but he was curious if Mars would even want to do that. He didn't want to bore the man. "Do you want to fight some monsters, fish, or leave now?" He'd be willing to do any one of them. After what they'd just been through, he wouldn't blame him if he just wanted to find somewhere to relax. But, Pinball was inclined to level up, and if Mars didn't accompany him, he was sure he'd just go on somewhere else and do something that'd benefit him. He was getting closer to obtaining Rank 5 in his Sword Art, but he had yet to obtain his familiar. He wondered for a moment who he'd ask to bring - not Mars. He didn't want the man to get a one-up on him again. They had practically been leveling together, but it kind of defeated the purpose of the race. Still, they would duel. Eventually.

Well we could go to a tier two floor to prep us better for getting our gear for tier two business, or we could go our separate ways right now Pinball. That can be your choice in this matter. He says honestly to his companion not minding either or since one allows him to do some questing in order to gain stronger if this quest hasn't gotten him strong enough even then for his fight against his rival. Plus if he can the materials from the tier two floors could be worth it from being as prepared as possible for when he reaches that wonderful threshold of being tier two of which he can then utterly destroy anything that could try to get in his way. He just crosses his arms along his chest and awaits to hear the response from his ally. His familiar already laying in the grass with no fire coming out from it at the moment, but generating quite a lot of heat anyway.

"The monsters up there are really tough, though," he said, unsure. He crossed his arms, tilted his head a bit, and averted his eyes. Pinball took a moment to think about it. "Do you want to fight monsters up there, or fish? Either way, it seems a bit... dangerous." He bit his lip. They had just escaped near death, and he wasn't sure he was in the mood for another adventure. However, on the other hand, Tier-Two loot would help immensely. But what's the point of getting unidentified items if you can just have someone craft it for you? I guess the Unique enhancements, but those are like... Incredibly rare. He sighed. "Are you sure you just don't want to walk back and get a drink or something?" He remembered the day he had been introduced to a honey mead by Hei. It seemed so long ago; he had still used a dagger back then. "If you want, we can go, but... only for a bit. Tier-two stuff would be cool." He wasn't in the mood to keep adventuring like this anymore. He wanted to take a nap, really. He'd go back questing afterwards.

He nods his head with a small sigh of disappointment at you seemingly being not fine with going to the second tiered floors. Knowing that it could be dangerous, but for the most part knowing the chance of them getting in over their heads is rather low do to their strength in taking down enemies matching there strength. At the offer of getting something to drink, and eat though he does feel his stomach growl and remind him that it is still required to get food and such to survive in this game. he sighs softly, but ends up nodding in the end. Lead the way Pinball lets get something to eat it is getting towards a meal time. He says as he glances towards the sky to see what the state is at the moment. Wondering the time it could be when glancing towards it. Only hoping that it is a decent amount. Forgetting that he has a menu that could tell him as he quickly opens up said menu to look.

"Awesome!" Pinball jumped up and down a bit, not scared to show his own excitement. He through a few punches mid-jump, accentuating the bubbly mood he had just shitfed into. "It's called the Golden Tortoise, or something," he said finally, calming down. He grinned. "Hei took me there once after a gathering trip. It was from back when I still used a dagger." He took a moment to check the floor map, before heading off in the direction of the town. "It's on the First Floor, though. Come on. It'll be really fun.

Every so often, as they walked, Pinball would turn around and assure Mars that the wait would be worth it... whether he cared or not. He kept telling him about the bar, and how great the drinks were, and how good the food was. Soon, the starting town of Floor 3 was in sight. Their journey was over and done, and now it was time for the heroes' return. Pinball grinned. "Almost there," he laughed, knowing full well how annoying he must have been the entire walk - he was completely self aware.

he walks along with his companion to this bar of which he can only guess is the location with such places of drinks and food. However, from how his companion keeps describing it the idea of a bar sounds farfetched now, and is more likely to be a restaurant of a relatively good stature and such that could be worth the wait for certain. After a amount of time though the insensate talking does begin to grate upon his nerves, but at the same time it might be better then the silence of the forest. he sighs softly to himself at the rather conflicting viewpoints of what would even be better then this. The answer being rather unclear for certain as he glances towards his familiar that is just practicing with its fire by flaring it upwards and trying to direct the flames to specific parts of its body. he just nods his head glad that the liger is following his instructions of what to do during off moments of time. If we're almost there then please lead the way. he says gesturing for you to do so.

Pinball nodded. They pushed through the streets, and soon came upon the teleportation pad. Pinball noticed in the corner of his eye one blue-haired girl and one green-haired guy, holding each other's hands and walking down the strret calmly. He took a few steps onto the pad itself, looking back to Mars. "Oi," he said, "what's your favorite color?" He laughed, doing a bit of a twirl before stopping on the pad. Making his voice as clear as possible, Pinball spoke. His body became blue, and he was warped to the first floor. He took a few steps away from the pedastal, looking behind him for Mars. When the man showed up, he'd nod. "The bar is this way," he said, pointing in the direction of the shop with his thumb. "Let's go." Pinball was off, then, jogging down the street he knew would lead to the same bar Hei had brought him so long ago. He was a bit excited, but that was mostly caused by hunger.

Once they arrive at the town he grins rather happily and gratefully that things are starting to smooth out to some extent as he continues on his way towards the teleporter as his familiar follows alongside him towards there destination. When asked for his favorite color he just shrugs. Anything with a darker color scheme with a preference towards darker blues i guess. He says honestly not seeing a reason fro why it would be significant but allowing his rival to know if it satisfies some type of curiosity within him. Who knows maybe that might slowly lead to his rival trying to dig into his past which could make for some interesting fun in terms of a cat and mouse type of deal of trying to avoid him finding out while Pinball searches for answers. With a nod of his head he follows Pinball towards what is actually a bar surprisingly. having expected a restaurant instead. He chuckles a little bit realizing how dangerous his familiar is to this place. Fire plus alcoholic content does not equal any form of being safe for certain.

Pinball nodded. "I'm more of a blue guy too, actually. I thought you'd like red for some reason." Pinball shrugged, leading the way through the alleys. They come upon a three story building that had a wooden balcony. "Here it is," he laughed. "At long last." He grabbed the door knob, pushing it open. "Let's not keep our stomachs waiting.

The inside of the tavern looked like it came out of an adventure story. There was a fireplace burning and a few people had hanged their cloth to dry. The dim light that was emitted by the fireplace and a few tallowcandles didn't even reach the corners of the room, but the smoke made it hard to breath. There were multiple tables with benches next to it, but most of them were filled with adventurous looking NPCs  or other players. Behind the counter there was a bold man, who looked as if he could throw out a giant if he ever had to. The man was cleaning a mug with a probably dirty rag. But there was one thing in this room that made it look really strange. There was a fish tank that was so high, it went through the buildings stories and within this tank, there was a gorgeous looking dragon tortoise.

He walks into the bar alongside his companion as he looks around at everything with a rather uninterested look for what he can tell. Just some run of the mill players, and quite a bit of NPCs to make the place seem lively and entertaining. With a rather tall man that is cleaning glasses to prepare to give unto other customers. The only thing making this place above average being the tortoise within the tank of water. He glances towards his familiar that seems to be equally unimpressed by this place. However, at the very least he can say this place is above the normal cut of bars that this game seems to generate for players to eat at. Which might mean this place is actually player run which would be interesting and explain the tortoise if anything. Well lets go get something to eat shall we? he says to his companion gesturing for him to lead the way since he doesn't really know where to begin with, and his companion knows the place better.

Pinball nodded to the NPC bartender, but not a single expression betrayed the fact that Pinball had been here many times before. It was only programmed to take orders, after all. Pinball ordered the honey mead he had grown so fondly attached to, then waved Mars over to a booth. "C'mon," he said, taking a seat at the table. He grinned. "So, whaddya think? Not impressed?" He laughed. "It really isn't that special of a thing. I just enjoy the atmosphere." He kept smiling as an NPC waiter came over and took their orders. "Mars, if you want a drink or something to eat, order it now. They've got all sorts of alcoholic beverages, and the food here is mediocre at best." He turned to face the waiter, a small menu popping up with the food options. He clicked one, and soon he had a hot plate of chicken wings in front of him. "These are spicy. What'd you get?"

Link to post

The place is rather decent overall i would say. The decor and at least the atmosphere is definitely above the average alcoholic house that they like to call taverns on this floor. I would say you found at least a decent meeting sot if we ever get a group beyond ourselves. I can only hope we somehow manage to get lucky and find a tank in this game since that would make these quests even easier. No need to worry about such things when you can just let the tank take damage while the two of us deal crippling damage to the enemy. You know what i mean. He says with a grin on his face as he looks over to the waiter with a nod of his head. I would like some chicken wings the same as my friend here with a side of salad, and a nice cold water please. He says to the water that goes to the back to start making it in the kitchen as he looks towards his companion. That was my order now then. What is your plan after this? Think you're ready to fight me in the ring? If yes we will need to start planning out our the where and when to fight. He says in a excited tone of voice.

"Yeah," Pinball agreed, "I love this place." His heart raced when Mars asked him if he was ready for the duel. It was finally happening. It was time to acknowledge their promise from so long ago, and finally see who wins. An idea came to Pinball then, and excited, he slammed his fist on the table. "I've got one better!" He took a large bite of a chicken wing before continuing. "What if we fight Stryder?! God, that's spicy." He took a large drink of mead, the alcohol soothing the spiciness in his throat. "We'd need to get to Tier-Two to stand a chance, of course - and once we do, he'll need to have a teammate as well to make it fair." He raised a finger, took another bite of his chicken, gazing at the golden tortoise in its tank. "That'd be really fun. Why defeat Ol' Pinny poo when we can defeat the leader of a guild?" He laughed. He sounded really sketchy. "It's not that I'm scared, mind you! I just think it'd be much more fun to fight Stryder and one of his pals - or maybe not even Stryder. The rate we're going, we'll be able to take on someone way stronger than Stryder really soon."
