Summary:

Marking the beginning of each tier (Floors 1, 11, 21, etc.), these levels of Aincrad in particular each seem to have various locations among the floors that are bursting at the seams with crafting materials. They are easier to find than other hunting grounds on comparable floors, with short respawn rates to make them the best locations to hunt for materials.

If the floor is vegetated, players can find a <<Garden>>. If there are a lot of buildings on the floor, players can find a <<Courtyard>>. If the floor is underground, players can find a <<Cavern>>. Many NPCs give away these farming locations, telling players about this amazing opportunity of extra materials, whether it be from plentiful monster drops or from the safer areas outside of town that make for easy, peaceful fishing and gathering.

Searching:  LD rolls of 11-14 give 1 material.  LD rolls of 15+ give 2 materials.  Gatherer skill is added to this roll as well.

Fishing:  Monsters and bosses never spawn.  Fishing receives no bonus materials.  CD 12s require a LD of 15+ (modifiers allowed) to fish up a treasure chest.  If 1-14, players receive 4 materials.

Treasure Chests:  LD of 1-3 does not result in a mimic, but drops (Floor * 25) col and one material.

Looting Mobs:  Loot required mobs always drop (HP * 4) col and 1 material as default drops.

Requirements:

  • At least one [1] Page (20 or more posts)
  • Mobs MUST meet or exceed the loot minimum parameter.

Randal had gotten much better with directions after his encounter with <<Night>>. See he had actually gotten really badly lost and was helped by her get through a quest as well get out of the floor he was stuck in.

Somehow he had managed to teleport to floor 3 by accident and had no idea how to get back, not even realising that he had teleported in the first place.

However, now that he knew how it felt, he could discern if he ever teleported again. Taking this lesson into account, Randal started practicing with maps and had by merit of trial and error figured out how to go where he needed to by using the HUD for ground to map comparisons.

By using his newfound sense of direction, Randal found his way to an area with a lot of players that were gathering at a particular location.

He overheard them talking about a good place to gather some materials so Randal decided to tag a long with them.

With a friendly demeanour, he made quick friends during the journey and they happily brought him there.

Entering the lush lakeside forest with friends and better equipment gave Randal sense of security, but he was also weary of monsters of all kinds that might try to ambush him, he mused that part of the benefit that came with being a martial artist in that your weapons would never be sheathed and that you could kill as fast as you could move your hands.

Bracing himself for the worst, Randal enjoyed the best. The company made the journey far easier in terms of mental requirements as Randal heard what stories that his companions told about the bountiful gardens that was discovered.

As they spoke about how pristine and safe the area was, Randal was held in place with a reasonable amount of skepticism.

As they passed through the forest, the group stopped at  a wooden barricade and made their way around it until they found a gate, through which was what can only be described as a villa with its own lake, garden and Orchard.

Randal watched his his journey friends departed from him as they went off to do their own things, some of them went into a little hut that spawned monsters to train themselves and get materials but Randal wasn’t feeling like murder today. In the middle of this beautiful garden, he decided to prepare  some ingredients and food stuffs for his shop down in the village. He had been running Low on supplies and decided to start of the day by fishing some creatures up.

As Randal approached the lake he noticed that the pond was filled with life and fishes could be seen swimming back and forth merrily. As Randal picked up a spear from a rack that stated “Please return after use”, he felt the weight and balance of the weapon before thrusting it into the pond, his first few attempts were failure but Randal managed to spear two fishes and decided to call it a day. As the fishes disintegrated into a blue flash, and was added to his inventory.

Having had his fill of playing around in the water, Randal got up and returned the spear to the rack saying his thanks for the good fishing harvest. He decided to wander around the area a bit more and came across a small area with some tree trunk stumps and some trees growing exponentially fast, probably and certainly a result of being in a game, Randal quickly put two and two together and figured that he could use a hatchet which was also on a rack to chop down some trees.

At first Randal could not see the point but he remembered that smoking food also gave it a certain element of earthiness in the flavour and smell. Sure enough, he decided to try using this wood in the future to try to further his cooking skills and to even broader his horizons.

With the large hatchet, Randal made fast work of a nearby sapling and collected the disintegrating wood into his inventory.

Along the way, while cutting down the sapling he noticed a certain incessant buzzing in his vicinity, quickly alerted to the red bee he fought once and still skeptics towards the overall safety of this place, he quickly looked around only to find a normal sized bee.

While he observed the bee, the bee observed him and decided that this boring fellow was of no concern and proceeded to fly back to its hive.

For Randal, the hive was an opportunity, bee hives were dangerous because people had allergies in the real world but in the game, he could do so without fear. Although he was still cautious, the feeling of being stung was one he had experienced before and he wasn’t willing to see if the Developers had included it into the system.

So he placed a jar below the hive and would come back later to collect it, he would find that the hive was overflowing with life and his jar full of honey.

Not far in the distance from the logging area of this little hideaway from villages, he found a nice pasture were some docile cows were seen grazing from some hay, the origin of the hay still remained unknown to Randal as he hadn’t seen any NPCs yet.

Nonetheless, the cows were hanging around a sign that said that visitors may try their luck at milking the cows and that if they were lucky and skilful they would not be kicked away by the cow and blessed with some fresh milk.

Apprehensive of handling such a beast but not willing to give up the potential of included milk into one of his meals or utilising it to make butter or cheese or any other delicious by-product, Randal got to the front of a cow and tried to communicate with it like a cat, allowing the cow to smell him first.

The response was a low moo which Randal took as approval as he got on his knees and began milking the cow, the process was a little messy, his inappropriate technique earning him a great buckling cow.

Randal was clear it was not a cow day for him today and retreated...for now.

Being buckled into the ground was an experience Randal never had before, I’m his previous life, he had never played around with any large cattle or horses before, so it is not surprisingly that his first attempt at intimacy with a cow would not go well.

While laying in the dirt, Randal decided to lay down in the ground for a bit, his hand feeling the loose soil underneath him. He had heard that some bon vivant’s were interested in eating food literally nurtured or cooked with soil because it would be the truest sense of earthiness. And also because creating a delicious dish while harnessing such wild natural flavours was difficult, few would venture into such uncertain territories.

Randal decided to go with his better judgement and decided to just enjoy the peaceful ambience and nature as he gazed up into the sky and took a short break. He wasn’t intending to stay here forever but he did want to enjoy his time while he could.

Randal closed his eyes and meditated - meaning that he sort of fell asleep but also did so while maintaining his breathing, consciously relaxing every muscle in his body and opening up his mind to the world. It was a very relaxing feeling but it constantly left Randal a little uncomfortable, like the fact that he was consciously trying to relax his muscles but if he got too relax his muscles would tense back up. It was really very weird.

With his mind actively thinking about this, his senses fell asleep along with his body, to the point where he did not know that a bird had just had a tiny little bird heart attack and was falling speedily towards him.

With a light thud, the little sparrow like creature landed in the soft ground beside him. When he woke up, Randal had no clue what happened but did not look a surprise gift bird in the mouth and candidly pocketed the resource before he decided he had napped enough if birds could be found all over the place.

Randal did not actually believe that birds would just be found all over the floor but nonetheless he still walked around with me degree of hope and expectation that he might cause that would do for some really easy pickings, he would probably have to boil it if he found that It might have died of an infestation.

Unfazed by the possibility of cooking toxic meat, Randal delighted upon a dark corner of orchid where part of the pond has trickled into forming a little oasis under the shade of the forestry.

This place was a haven for fungi and other spore based organisms to frolic amidst the humidity derived from the surrounding conditions, picking out some delicious looking mushrooms, Randal checked that the items he picked up were not poisonous and emptied them into his back pack, he was carrying a pretty decent haul as of now.

While Randal admired the quaint little enclave that nature had created for him, and spotted a great number of spider webs originating from a small crack in a tight cluster of trees with no spider in sight. In reality, this would indicate quite a number of things, for instance, it would tell Randal that were very clearly spiders located very close in the vicinity and it would also tell Randal that there was enough flies, bugs and insects in the area to nourish such a large number of potential spiders.

Nonetheless, this being a game gave Randal the courage he needed to approach the web and admire it. Think about it’s utility, Randal wanted to collect the web as it could be used for some fine garnishing if he only knew how to harness it well. Grabbing a stick, Randal collected a few webs being careful not to destroy the home of the Spiders.

After collecting the spider web from the quiet place, Randal made his way back the way he came back out into the open area and followed the path towards an Orchard, although there were only a few trees within, the fruits growing from those trees never seemed to stop growing and dropped regularly to the ground, splintering into a blue flash upon hitting the ground.

They moved pretty quickly for inanimate objects and fell at irregular intervals, standing under the tree and waiting to catch one was like a mini game one had to complete to get the fruits for themselves, after Randal finally managed to catch one or two after a series of them pelted him on the head and shoulders. Functionally throwing them into his back pack which was now half-full, Randal dodges our of the way and Into a safe no fall zone.

Leaving the Orchard behind, Randal decided to take a look at the area he came from and see how his travel buddies were faring in the training room.

As he peaked into the room through a window he saw that they were having a blast collecting Col, Materials and equipment from every Monster they managed to kill. This efficiency was something Randal desired but couldn’t execute yet due to his lack of Martial Arts Skills, he would achieve it soon once he completed another quest on another floor as he heard of a tiring but rewarding quest somewhere up in the mountains.

A wild boar that wasn’t a Monster roamed in front of Randal, the creature was designed to look as delicious as possible, and with his meat section lacking, Randal quickly added Boar Meat to his collection.

Already hanging out around the nice wooden hut like training room, Randal made his way around the house to the garden that he had seen when he first entered, the garden was filled to the brim with every square inch of the area converted in blooming flowers and plants/ vegetation of all kinds could be seen.

In such a garden, Randal already knew what he needed to get, he had been missing some basic ingredients to pack and diversify the flavours in his dish. The first hit on his list was going to be onions. Onions were a kind of root that when cut released a pheromone that would make people cry. Randal was of the belief that this phenomenon was only applicable in the real world but he hadn’t yet proved himself right or wrong.

Bending down and pulling a few onions from the ground, Randal made certain not to remove them from the garden entirely so that they may have the chance to repopulate. If they were like anything else in this garden, it wouldn’t take too long.

Looking to his left or rather to the right of the onion plant, he spotted a plant that resembled the ginger plant very closely and Randal made the assumption that this was probably a ginger substitute that was implemented into the game to replicate the test and flavour of ginger.

Even though Randal personally was never a fan of ginger’s flavour, he understood the fundamental flavour palate that ginger provided to fishes as well as how amazing ginger was when it came to removing smells that were undesirable from foods, incredibly, when he pulled the plant out to examine the roots, he was surprised to find that it was actually ginger.

Doing the same thing that he did with onions in Ensure the vegetable’s ability to regrow in the garden, Randal went on to pocket the ginger into his inventory, now about 3/4 of the way to his goal before he ventured back to the town of beginners.

Making his journey onwards to the next plant in line as is it will of a gardener, Rabdal was blessed with the discovery that there were carrots growing up in bunches next to the ginger, it was a good find for Randal, as carrots were one of those food ingredients that Randal loves to eat in the real world, the fact that a vegetable could contain sweet flavours was very encouraging for a good Nutritionist like Randal and he had always recommended it to people upon them visiting him in his office.

The carrots that were plucked were a nice orange in colour and felt very firm with no signs of decay, rot or disease, the leaves maintained an incredible green hue and was a hefty pull out of the ground. It was an incredible find.

Everything in his backpack fell into place when he found a garlic plant growing somewhere in the garden, the reason for this was simple, garlic brought a lot of gifts to ones ability to balance the flavours of a dish, similar to ginger, garlic was mostly used in addition to other ingredients to empower or cleanse certain elements in food. Garlic was especially good as a spread over some plain bread but was rarely eaten by itself due to an overpowering raw flavour and the tendency to make one’s farts smell bad.

Randal would turn this into a healthier snack compared to garlic bread of the real world which was fairly unhealthy in the real world, he mused about making a variation that was just as delicious without the unhealthy parts or at least with more healthy parts in an attempt to pseudo compensate.

Located in some pots near the side of the wooden house people using for training, were an array of flowers currently in bloom. Although flowers may seem like an odd addition to food, it would not be the first feature that flowers have had in the industry.

As a food Nutritionist, Randal was aware that the appearance of food often played a big part in people’s appetite and desire to eat them. Flowers have been used in few facets of cooking mainly for aesthetic purposes and sometimes for a rare flavour that they bring to the dish.

For example, flowers were greatly used as a decorative garnish to bring the appearance of a dish to new heights. In other places, flowers were broken down into their dyes and used to colour white food stuffs to make them more attractive.

However there were some flowers that brought a certain aroma with them that would not be good to add to food stuffs, certain plants to the name Randal could not remember at the moment released an extremely pungent smell that would assault the senses and majority of the time, the smell of these plants came from the internal components of the flower which meant that even washing the plant would not work because when the consumer ate it, the smell would burst forth from within the plant cells.

This made Randal skeptic so about all the plant he could use from the potted section because when he smelled them, he often didn’t like what he found, however he did manage to collect some roses, lavender and curry flowers to add to his backpack.

Hidden in between some pots as inconspicuously as they could possibly manage were some amazing looking mushrooms, the plumpness of the mushroom coupled with how delicate their little caps bounced when Randal brushed over them with his fingers were almost hypnotic. These mushrooms tried their best to resist Randal grasp but being as they were not potted or specifically planted anywhere they easily entered his inventory.

With that said and done, the unusually hypnotic mushrooms were sent straight to his backpack.

With his backpack now brimming with tons of materials and ingredients for the next few days, Randal began to make preparations for him to leave this paradise in game, he knew that outside of this environment, he would never have been able to get this many ingredients in such a short span of time.

As such it was time to retreat home, he did carefully mark the location on his map for future visits to this beautiful “farmer’s market”, said farewell to his journey mates and said a quiet thank you to whoever built this place.

The journey back was only slightly tiring, due to the fact that Randal had gotten astrayed a few more times trying to look for ingredients along the way back, however, true to his initial beliefs, he could not find a single thing worth bringing home with him, already slightly missing the paradise now far behind him.

Randal did not go back to the town of beginners as he journeyed across some plains back to the town where his shop was, he needed to deposit these items as soon as possible.

As he entered the village, Randal longed for someone he could tell about this location he had found and wished to get a familiar so that  journeying by himself wouldn’t stay that way, with a companion, he knew he would feel better, but there were things he had to do first.
