She was just on the cusp of being a high enough level to get the dagger to work and then she would be able to train Hyou to control the darkness that was inside her. With a light pet across the familiars head, she smiled and stood back up, closing her terminal just as her energy regenerated to full. "Let's get back to it. I'm almost there." She mentioned, getting her dagger ready for another grinding session with her familiar. Maybe they could find something a little stronger. They went further out, only to find a bear cave. There were several bears around, growling in anger at a few wolves that were trying to get close. This would be a good enemy to fight to get her to the next level. Time to get busy. Assassin 0 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #42 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 Assassin snuck through the shadows of the trees and made her way to the den of bears that would be the final grinding place to get her to level 25. She rushed into their cave when she found a moment to strike. While one of the bears were turned the other way, she burst into it's back ramming her dagger into it's thick hide with a critical attack. She giggled at the damage that she caused to it. It fell to the ground dead and disappeared back into the cardinal. The remaining bears weren't going to let her catch them off guard now though. They charged at her to swipe at her tiny frame, but she was way too fast. She burst past their claws and dodged every single one of them without fail. Her dagger raked through bear hide with every bear that came near her. It was a true slaughter. Link to post Share on other sites
Assassin 0 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #43 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 Hyou followed behind her master, aiding her with killing every single bear that she was attacking to kill it as quickly as possible. With the aid given to her by the shadow that infected her body, Hyou was able to fight toe to toe with these mobs without a problem. She could probably take these bears on one on one by herself if she wanted to and still come out on top at this point. However, the control wasn't perfect yet. They needed to keep working on it so that Kaya could take up on the power that her familiar had to empower herself. If she could manage that, then it would be smooth sailing from here on out. The two of them continued to tear though the bears without any problem like with the wolves. Assassin was either able dodge or mitigate any damage that they threw at her. Assassin 0 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #44 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 Several bears later, Assassin had finally reached the level milestone of level 25 and was able to wield her new dagger. She replaced both of the daggers and slashed through the final bear without even activating a sword art. It exploded into data instantly. Assassin looked down at the demonic looking dagger, glad that it finally allowed her to be in control of it. From here on out, things were going to get a lot more interesting for sure. With the bears completely cleared out and her level now at the milestone that was enough to make her stronger, she could do more and help her big sister with almost anything from here on out. A smile formed on her face just thinking about it. Well, before she left this cave, she might as well see if there is anything in here that would be worth using, maybe she would be able to find something interesting. Link to post Share on other sites
Assassin 0 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #45 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 After a quick scurry of the cave system, Assassin wasn't able to find anything useful at all. It was a little upsetting that she wasn't able to find anything for her sister, but it would have to do that she was now able to reach higher strengths thanks to her. The two of them could be fighting as equals one day and she was more than ready for that. She wanted to make her sister proud and help her through these tough times. "Alright Hyou, lets go back home. I think we're good now." Assassin said as she made her way out of the tunnel system and back out into the forest. It was a short walk to Hidden's house where she would go back to her room to rest. Her sister wasn't up right now, probably taking a nap after all the stressful things that they had been through. Nothing found... Link to post Share on other sites

She still couldn't believe that she had her own place to live and sleep now. And all of that was thanks to her older sister. Thanks to all of this, Assassin would do everything she could to make it up to her. She was like family to her for sure. When they made it out of this game, maybe Hidden would think about adopting her from the orphanage, nothing would make her happier than that. Laying back against the pillow, the little girl sighs and cuddles up to her giant familiar. It seemed as though the anger spikes that she was having had faded away. The dark menacing aura was beginning to fade as well. Maybe now their problems will go away. A soft smile formed on her lips as she thought about it. Link to post Share on other sites

They were both a lot stronger and Hyou could help her fight with her sister so that they could take on any challenge. Her new weapon would help her destroy any meanies that tried to hurt her or her older sister. She hoped that soon Hidden would allow her to help her fight without getting really angry at her for putting herself in danger. Soon after some time, Assassin would fall into a quiet sleep next to her feline partner. During their sleep, the familiar's menacing aura would fade away completely and she would be back to normal. Assassin wouldn't know that now these two would be connected with each other. Stronger on a level of understanding that she couldn't even fathom to understand. It was all for the best though. Assassin 0 Posted July 25, 2020 Author #48 Report Share Posted July 25, 2020 The next day, she would see the aura disappeared from Hyou's body and let out a sigh of relief, not really moving from bed to make sure that she didn't wake her familiar from her sleep. Content with what she had accomplished, maybe she would take a day to stay inside and do nothing. It was a perfect time for them to relax for once and just enjoy some quiet time together. Assassin would soon rouse herself awake and try to find something to eat in Hidden's house. She must have been gone for the day or something cause her shoes were missing from the front door. That would mean that she has the entire house to herself for the day. That was good enough for her. She and Hyou really needed to take a break after everything that they had been through.
