His attack managed to not only hit every single one of the monsters, but also knock their own aim out of the way, causing them to miss their own counterattacks. Using that momentum, with a quick spin the boy tried to follow up with another attack of the same intensity to take out the monsters he'd initially missed with his blinding attack, to put an end to this encounter and enjoy the loot that these monsters provided- at this rate, he could take on a few more squads before tiring himself out, to nab the estate and whatever else fell in his hands out of pure luck.

To his surprise, one of the monsters managed to barely get out of the range in time, leaving it the only one alive as the other shattered into crystals. With a chuckle, the boy lunged towards it as it prepared to throw him off balance with its spear.

As the swordsman ran right at the mushroom-person, he held his blade in front of him with both hands before stretching it forwards, aiming at the monster's spear. Its HP was low enough for this to work, and at worst, he'd just deflect its attack once more. It was already surprising enough that it had managed to dodge his attack so many times however, especially after having gotten buffed by all the foods that he had eaten from Gaius' shop. "Down you go!", he shouted at it with childish excitement almost, making this just a tad bit... worrying.

From all the momentum and force, the spear ended up being the weapon to get deflected out of the way, as his sword went right through the monster's body. By the time he began pulling the blade back, its HP had dropped to zero and it had broken into crystals, as the loot window popped up before him.

He silently let his eyes scan it, happy at having nabbed another two perfect gears. They would probably not result in anything good, but just having them around was enough to help brighten his mood even further. Alongside the house, just the possibility of having these precious, strong items was a great added bonus. He'd just noticed how long had passed, and even now in the courtyard, an idea came to his mind. Every other time, he'd gone looking for treasure chests. So seeing as he was already here and staying for even longer, he took little time before he began to look around for more of the same.

Sadly, nothing was to be found. There appeared to be no treasure chest laying around, no matter how many corners he peeked around and how hard he tried to look at the same, few places that the courtyard could be hiding such goods.

Now that it was him and the courtyard, all alone, he decided to plop down against a wall and make resting just a slightly bit easier on him. With a deep sigh, he stretched and looked at his health recovering, all the while watching flashes of blue appear left and right further away, where monsters respawned in hordes for him to take on once more. "Even when I'm not doing anything, the world continues to move around me... That's realistic enough, I guess.", he thought and chuckled, looking up at the clear sky with few clouds and a bright sun.

Definitely not blinding, but it'd be best not to gouge his eyes out by looking at it for too long. Whilst seated, he looked around for any nearby materials that laid around, wondering what Blizz could be up to back in the shop. Then again, he was always up to one of two things when they weren't in battle; either eating, or sleeping to his heart's content.

After a minute or two, he felt fully rejuvenated again. Unlike the real world, it was interesting and definitely different that in here, he just had to do his bouts in small increments with rest in between each one rather than all at once and then he'd just take a long rest instead. Then again, maybe that would be different once he got a house and all- he would probably be more relaxed and it'd be easier to recover his energy even faster, so the small breaks became even smaller. If his mind could take it at least.

With newfound vigor, he slowly stood up and gave the ground one final glance, grinning as he unsheathed his sword and began walking towards a group of fungal spearmen which took attention fairly quickly. "Alright then... Now that they're aware, they probably know I'll attack. So let's see if I can still knock 'em right off their guard and get a quick finish."

Everybody got into position on the field, ready to engage on one another. The same way that they readied up for an incoming attack, the bluehead readied himself to block their own counterattack and stun them before he'd get a quick finish on his fifth encounter of the day. "Maybe if I tried to get their hands hurt to stop them from attacking...", he quickly planned in his head before lunging right towards them with a heave, slashing sideways. One raised its spear to block, just as his sword would connect.

Although the monster got knocked back and ultimately missed its chance to attack, the rest all got hurt and stumbled when trying to attack back, getting stunned effectively enough for Chase to give finishing them a shot. He quickly jumped back, only to use the momentum and lunge right towards them once more as he kicked at the ground, keeping his sword to the side and starting to slash right towards them from a fairly wide angle.

The slash connected with all four of his opponents, successfully getting the three wounded from his previous assault to drop to zero HP before shattering into crystal shards, effectively being taken out. Only one remained, that despite the force of the blow, still managed to regain its composure and attacked back, piercing Chase's shoulder and dealing a small amount of damage.

The adrenaline of being hit kicked in once more, even though it wouldn't take more than a single attack to take it out. The damage it dealt wasn't even that high to begin with, but it was rare for these monsters to get enough time to hit him, let alone succeed in it too. His battle-thirsty instinct simply got fed more and more with the few hits that landed across the wide plain of misses the monsters dished out when desperately retaliating to his attacks. "Looks like this one has some fight left in it!"

As the boy ran right towards the Fungal Spearman left in front of him, he raised his sword upwards and slashed down, before going for another horizontal attack, and another one diagonally to make sure the job was finished. From the impact and force of the blow, the monster flew back and before it hit the ground, by the time Chase stopped in his tracks, it had shattered into tiny crystals while the loot window popped up before the swordsman.

The loot was especially high in Col this time around, something which he could definitely not complain about. "If the cash payout of these monsters continues to be this high, then maybe it'll be just three more encounters before I can afford the estate to live in with Shay. I wonder what facilities we'll have available or if there's any way to customize them... Probably should be, but... Gah, it's a damn house, it's meant to have rooms!"

Shay had mentioned something about getting a house plot, and to be honest, the whole system he was very unfamiliar with. He decided it'd be best to ask around and pick up some information on housing before starting to get settled down and looking for the ideal floor. That would probably be just what he needed to receive his answer on the rooms ordeal. With his sword still in his hand, he scuttled to a bit further away and pierced it into the ground, leaning on it to rest while he let his eyes scan around the courtyard.

It had gotten slightly damaged by the looks of it from his attacks, but the terrain was quickly repairing itself after every single fight in a mechanical yet natural-looking way. It fascinated him, just how detailed the world was when he stopped and looked at it for a second. "... I see how it is."

"... It's doing its best to keep up with me. So I should do my best to keep up with the frontlines too. And help Shay pull her own weight, the same way she'll help me pull mine. I shouldn't gloom around as much, either...", he nodded to himself and spotted a material laying down on its own just slightly further ahead. Normally, Blizz would nab it for him and bring it to his hand but he was at the workshop. He left his sword behind and walked on over, picking it up and raising it under the sunlight to look at it. A beautiful gem that reflected the sunlight with a red hue. 

"I can definitely make a hell of a piece out of this.", he confidently told himself, before deciding exactly what he'd do with it. Shay didn't seem to have any loot related items, so he'd definitely work the best, perfect trinket he can make out of it and gift it to her, as a thank you for being there. It was the least that he could do, especially after how far the two had come.

And just as he was about to pull his blade out of the ground, he noticed another material glowing slightly further. With a cheeky grin, he walked over and picked it up, seeing it shine at his own colors- another gem, of course. There seemed to be plenty of them, almost as if a cave was nearby. "Well, judging by the mountains and the overall landscape, there probably has to be some cave nearby... If I could find a way into it, I'd probably get different types of monsters too, heh? Damp and dark... Probably where these spearmen are supposed to come from."

The boy nodded to himself while stashing the gem away, taking the sword off the ground and holding it firmly in his hands as he approached another group of four fading flashes, that revealed some more spearmen. Who would have thought so? "I'll need around... maybe two or three more groups. Let's get this over with and enjoy the cash after.", he practically patted himself on the back and prepared to take on another four, more confident than ever.

The said for spearmen turned to look at him, only noticing him after his sprint had already begun. They were well within his reach, with one managing to thrust its spear up towards his arm and wound him lightly, just like any other, while his attack lead to him slamming the flat of his blade on three out of all four, sending them rolling back, left in a daze. He took a few steps backwards too, looking at the red gash on his arm that the spear had poked into, grinning slightly.

Seeing as he wasn't getting tired any, he could do his best and keep going through with encounters like this for some extra cash, alongside more combat experience and practice. He was certain though, he'd return more tired than usual and probably just collapse as soon as he got to Shay's shop. It'd be for the last time though, as from there on out, they'd have a place to call home together. A proper home.

Seeing the spearmen start getting back up, he stopped his trail of thoughts and pulled his right leg back, before lunging right towards them. With a flurry of wide slashes in front of him, almost in a circular motion, he managed to cut all four enemies, with three of them losing their HP fully and shattering into beautiful, blue crystals. The one left behind flew further back into the courtyard. Just when Chase ran in to close the gap among the two and prepared to attack once more in a rush, out of the small cloud of dust the boy had raised, a spear emerged and hit him right on the shoulder opposite of the hand he'd hit previously. Hissing, he jumped back and held his sword up, seeing how the mushroom-man just wouldn't go down without a battle no matter what. "They seem to be getting stronger and stronger, even if they just appeared out of that blue light... Just like when we teleport. Or maybe... It's just the same visual. Nothing more to it."

With so many of them around though, at least some form of a home or base had to be here. He'd start looking for it as soon as he got finished with this encounter. Ready to put an end to it, he switched to a wide stance and took a deep breath, holding his sword parallel to his head with its blade pointed right towards the spearman. "Time to try this out. Just like Shay does it...", he muttered to himself as the monster charged his way.

In a flash, he'd disappeared only to emerge again behind it, lowering his sword and looking behind him to see the monster frozen in place. Just a few seconds after, it fell on its knees and looked over its shoulder one last time before disappearing into crystals. Then, the loot window appeared in front of the boy, with higher results than usual. That got another smile and happy huff out of him.

"I wonder how Shay came up with all those sword skills for her Katana... Maybe this isn't as functional for me as it is for her though. After all, I'm a broadsword user, and the swords weigh and feel differently. Mine is double-edged while hers has a really sharp side and the other is blunt. That aside, her sword would snap if it were to collide with another blade by the looks of it, while mine's thick enough to endure anything... I wonder what other weapon types I could look into, just for the sake of having their knowledge."

He pondered to himself, slowly looking through the courtyard for any clues of what could be a base anywhere nearby for the shrooms. He found the exit to the courtyard and alongside it, an odd path of trampled grasses leading towards the mountains- just where he suspected the caves were. With a raised eyebrow, he warily approached, his sword in hand already.

As he approached more and more, he could see various spores flying through the air around him, probably belonging to the walking fungus. This began to feel eerily suspicious for a non-quest, and he knew there was no way that he could have missed it if its quest flag was anywhere around the parts. He picked up two rags of fabric he found on the same path curiously, believing them to be dropped from NPCs of sorts. "I don't think I like where this is going."

They were classified as materials, so he held on to them, continuing down the path to see what seemed like a human further up ahead with a cursor over his head to signify he was an NPC. He seemed to be lightly wounded with a red gash on his stomach, but... This couldn't be a quest. Maybe it was some event that happened every few days, or it was just scripted to be this way as a 'side-quest', no SP, just the adventure to go through.

He crouched in to look at the old man, shaking him slightly. He appeared to be unconscious, however the rock he were laying against was suspiciously close to a cave. Hell if he cared about it being a quest or not- now everything pieced together just fine. Leaving a health potion in the NPC's hands, he got up and began to head right towards the cave, with his greatsword held tightly in his hands. Maybe just like this geezer, there were some more defenseless NPCs that went out to scour for materials held captive or even worse, being killed.

His fight or flight instinct kicked in and without noticing until he was already right in front of the cave's entrance, his pace had hastened and he felt as if time was ticking. The same, familiar four stubby silhouettes could be seen just further ahead, almost guarding the cave from any trespassers.

The shrooms noticed him the closer he got, standing in front and raising their spears towards him. They didn't make an active effort to attack him, only trying to intimidate him from proceeding any further inside. With a growl, the boy tried to get them out of the way by stomping the ground and talking, but... "Out of the way. There's some people in there. Let them out.". His words were only met with silence and a more sharp glare from the monsters, who stood their ground firmly.

Seeing that they wouldn't listen and with his now trickling patience, he raised his sword to the side, focusing all of his strength onto it as it began to glow red. Right at that instant, all four monsters lunged forwards with the spears at once, only to be met with a strong slash that broke their weapons, leaving them unarmed while they dropped back onto the ground.

They tried to crawl away, having fallen on their rears. One got up and began to run, which only bothered the male. "You run but still take hostages... Get back here!", he cried out and ran right behind it almost in an instant, slashing at its back and dealing the killing blow. Just when he turned around to look at the other three, one tried to jump onto him, only to be met with a punch that threw it off balance. He quickly raised his other sword in the air and drew it down, cutting the monster in half before it broke apart too.

The other two both tried to charge in and knock him off balance, only for him to swiftly slash them down. In the end, he was left panting, piercing his sword into the ground and leaning on it to catch up to his breath while he looked through the loot window.

Albeit rather calmer, he wasn't fully satisfied. There were still chances of NPCs being further up ahead in the cave, and that just wouldn't do. His intent wasn't to get more loot, but to save anybody from dying, NPC or not. He quickly pulled his blade back to his hands and started to walk through the narrow, damp corridor, keeping an eye out for materials. At some point, as the spores flying in the air got denser, he noticed some shining colored crystals on the wall.

With incredible precision, he let his blade cut them cleanly off the wall, having shaped them to seem like they were naturally just on the ground rather than sloppily cut off. Although he couldn't control his anger, it helped him focus much more in the moment- then again, when he snaps out of it he'll ultimately be fully exhausted. Not like it mattered to him.
