[F3-PP] Hunting Minotaurs (Search for the Hoya)

Recommended Posts

Rebekah was not surprised by Star's answer to her question. "I will take you up on your offer." Rebekah said.

She knew that being able to ask for help in dangerous situations was very important in a life and death scenario. She had never truly felt safe in any battle no matter the level discrepancies, but she was always able to mitigate the risk by being stronger and completing tasks in a party.

As the group had trekked a considerable distance from the eastern part of the labyrinth to the western end, she knew she had almost fully recovered her energy. All she needed was a few more minutes.

As they turned past the last sharp turn in the gloomy maze, there in front of them was Govarron, the other Minotaur that they were seeking to defeat. It had not been expecting them to come through this direction, and as a result it had its back facing them. Rebekah turned to Star eager not to make a sound but gestured to him that he should go first.

She thought he should at least get a chance at combat. This slightly delay will also give her the opportunity to finish her out of combat regeneration for energy.

Govarron was bigger than Kantaras, but wore less armor. He also wielded a battle axe even larger than Larbrook's. Star stayed silent, nodding to Rebekah as she gestured for him to go first. His hand took to the hilt of his blade and as he pressed forward, he released it from its scabbard. The minotaur turned, hearing the call of metal behind him. It let out a roar, lifting it's weapon in defense. A yellow shimmer embraced Morningstar's blade. He sped up, avoiding a heavy swing from Govarron's axe. With a few quick steps, he found himself behind the beast once again. His sword arced towards his opponent's waist, but didn't deal quite enough damage to kill the minotaur.

He fell back, his eyes meeting Rebekah's. The swordsman was disappointed he couldn't replicate his party member's one shot from before, but he was grateful to be finishing the quest nonetheless. He gestured to Rebekah, giving her the all-clear to end the fight.

This time Star had went first in battle and landed a clean hit with his two handed straight sword. She knew it was time for her to follow up and finish the battle. There was a lot of pressure for the girl since the hate was concentrated on Star if she missed her attack. That would be disastrous for the group. Therefore, she did not want that to happen.

As Rebekah needed to time this attack just before the second but bigger minotaur could hit him. She ran towards the them, leaving Larbook behind watching this fight going on. With a simple strike, the other minotaur exploded into a burst of blue pixels that disappeared around them. With that, it was now time to leave the labyrinth and head back to the safety of Aruyt.

Rebekah turned to Star, "Are you keeping the trinkets or exchanging them for a vanity pendant?"

Rebekah was going to keep the trinkets but wanted to know what he was planning. She turned to Larbook and told him it was time to head back to Aruyt. With Larbook leading the way, it did not take them long to exit the labyrinth. She would have easily gotten lost and she did not have a teleportation crystal with her. After exiting the maze, there was one last obstacle to return, the Forest of Wavering Mist.

Morningstar considered his options carefully. Did he want the trinkets or the vanity pendant? He met Rebekah's gaze.

"I think I'll take the pendant," he replied, turning to Larbrook.

Larbrook took the Hoyas of the East and West and, in return, gave Star the Hoya of Minos. He and Rebekah followed Larbrook back through the winding labyrinth until they reached the Forest of Wavering Mist. Their trip through the forest was filled with Larbrook's promises to sing songs of their battles with the minotaurs and they're adventure through the labyrinth. Eventually, they arrived back in Aruyt. Nightfall had come at a perfect time: right at the end of their quest. Larbrook parted ways with the pair, commending them for their bravery. He gave the axe-wielder a wave, before turning back to Rebekah.

"Nice work out there. That would have been a lot harder on my own," he admitted, dropping the hood of his cloak, "let's meet again sometime, okay?"

With a few swishes of his hand, he sent the rosy-haired girl a friend request.

Rebekah was about to send Star a friend request but he had beat her to the action. She quickly accepted his request and said farwell to Larbook. This was the last time she was going to see him with his giant axe and wondered how different the battle would have become if he had joined.

"Thank you for coming along today." Rebekah said. She was grateful for having another party member join her on her quest since it made the battle a lot more easier.

She continued, "Sure, let's meet up again soon. I have a few more quests that I would like some help on." With that, Rebekah said farewell to Star and began heading towards the teleportation gate in the middle of Aruyt. She had some pressing matters to return to on the cold fourth floor where she spent the vast majority of her time. She needed to restock her shop that she had left behind for the day.
