The head exploded in another shower of shards, drifting through the air for a moment before disappearing into the ground – leaving no trace behind. Nari managed to catch the attack of the remaining head coming her way, ducking beneath it and rolling backwards out of its reach. The beast seemed more reluctant to charge after her as the second head was destroyed – as if it somehow felt its impending doom coming closer and closer.

Silent, face devoid of any emotion, Nari set herself for another strike, waiting as the creature seemed to pause in its advance – as if uncertain of its chances. The glaive glinted in the magma light, as if calling out for more bloodshed. Her eyes locked on the creature, she waited for it to come closer, waiting for the opening that would let her end all of this. ‘Almost there…just a little bit longer now. Let it come to you…’

The creature suddenly shifted, signalling its movement to attack her. Nari was ready, bringing her blade up in a sharp arc, slamming the tip along its snout and out the far side. The head, and then the body, exploded into shards, leaving nothing but silence in the air where it had once stood. The small dialogue box announcing her victory going unnoticed for a few moments as Nari simply stood, taking in everything.

Without another word, she turned away, signalling the acknowledgement on the dialogue box before leaving the cavern behind, and making her way for home.

Glowing Maw | The fiery jaws of the beast leave targets sundered. On MD 9-10, the Cerberus will ignore 50% (rounded up) of the target’s Mitigation and inflict Burn on them for two rounds dealing 10 unmitigated damage per turn.
