Family Life and Friends

Dahlia's family wasn't very close. She was an only child and was raised by her grandma, who even she tried to avoid due to how strict she was. Because of all the rules set in place by her grandmother as a child and teenager, she found solace in video games. Now as an adult, gaming is one of her coping mechanisms.

She didn't have that many friends. By her count she had two true friends, her best friends.  They are the two of her "friends" that would treat her the same way she treats them, rather than just using her.

Gaming Experience

Dahlia would stick to single player games. She would hide herself away and bury herself in them. She played games like the Legend of Zelda (most of the games in the series), Dark Souls, Dragon Age, and Sims to name a few. She would play some games over and over just to experience the game all over again. She especially played games when she had a rough day and just needed to relax.

When it came to MMOs, she would really avoid them. The only time she would play an MMO was if a friend of hers was into it and wanted someone else to join. Even then, she would hyper fixate on it for a week or so and then give it up. She heard about Sword Art Online and planned to get it, knowing the same vicious cycle would probably repeat. 

She already knew exactly how she was going to make her character. She usually uses herself as a base for the character but taller or with a different hair color. Sometimes if the character creation is limited she will just put bits and pieces of herself into the character. She does this because she feels as if she can connect better with the character, and relate better to what the character is currently experiencing.

Leading up to SAO

She saved up money for a while to buy the NerveGear and SAO. When she realized she'd finally saved up the money it was almost launch day! She knew if she wanted to get it she would have to go super early to buy it, and she did. With her copy of SAO and her NerveGear in tow, she headed home. She completed the calibration of the NerveGear and afterwards she got all comfy and cozy, once she is she stated "Link Start!"

Soccer Mom Spoiler She is always ready to lend a helping hand whenever someone needs assistance. Her door is constantly open, and she never fails to pick up the phone, even in the dead of night, particularly if it's one of her friends reaching out. Whenever someone requires a ride or aid and can't drive themselves, she rushes to their aid without hesitation. Additionally, her pantry is always brimming with delicious snacks. As a result of her unwavering support and generosity, her friends affectionately refer to her as "mom."	Hermit Spoiler She is often found in her own company, primarily because of her profound social anxiety. Preferring solitude, she tends to keep to herself, finding it challenging to initiate conversations unless approached first. Her inherent shyness further complicates her interactions, making it arduous for her to establish meaningful connections with others. Consequently, forming friendships proves to be a daunting task for her, given her inclination towards an antisocial lifestyle.
Kindness Spoiler Having a knack for showing kindness to everyone she meets, she is well known for her welcoming attitude and behaviour. Although some may consider it a flaw, she is well known for showing a measure of respect and kindheartedness towards those who have wronged her, believing in their ability to overcome their previous flaws. No matter who they are, or where they are from, she ensures to greet everyone with a welcoming, warm enthusiasm - one which puts many at ease almost automatically. Ciela after hiding from the death game for so long, finally decided to venture out into the world of Sword Art Online. As she ventured out of the Town of Beginnings and into the fields of Floor One, she ran into a man named Wulfrin who guided her to her first quest. He stayed by her side as she took the time to gather the materials needed for the quest, giving her tips, tricks, and recommendations along the way. Wulfrin assisted her once more and they were off to start her next quest.
