Hirru 0 Posted Tuesday at 02:40 AM #1 Share Posted Tuesday at 02:40 AM (edited) Floor 30 What can be said about a floor of food and consumables? There would be no words to describe it without going at length to speak on the absurdity of it all. Though, as the hunter stood there in the teleportation plaza of the 30th floor, he felt like he would not like what this floor would bring to him. The central town, Waveside, was settled upon the high seas, or as they were called on this floor, the Iridescent Sea. For the first hour of coming here, Hirru couldn't understand what everything was. There were boats and houses made of wood, but the wood had a heavy scent of smoke dried meat. The sails were more seaweed, though there were some that were white like regular fiber. Were they anything specific? Hide? What did that taste like? "Oh gods above, Crozeph is getting to me.." Hirru would say as he sat upon a small dock on the inner parts of Waveside. He didn't want to venture very far from the teleporation plaza, but the heavy commerce would have him a bit of a ways away. As he would settle down, he would open his menu before sending out the message to all of his guild mates. Quote From: Hirru To: All Jacob's Ladder The 24th floor is an island paradise, but our focus should be helping in the understanding of the new floor. Let us set out on this floor and determine the local materials and such that can be gained from the flora and fauna. In other words, let's have a little gathering and fishing venture. Gatherers can search out clams and pearls, while fishers can.. well fish. See you on the 30th floor! Hirru Stats Edited Tuesday at 02:40 AM by Hirru
Reytac 0 Posted Tuesday at 03:04 AM #2 Share Posted Tuesday at 03:04 AM Reytac exhaled softly, staring at the message again to make sure that it was real, and he wasn’t hallucinating. He sucked in a deep breath, and nodded. It was real, his guild was descending on -, or, ascending on, the thirtieth floor, to explore it and learn more about what was the new front line. The closest he had been so far was, admittedly, the unhinged, disturbing twenty ninth floor, but that particular experience was one he tried not to think about if he could help it, aside from his newfound friendship with Teion. This, then, would be his chance to actually meet more of his actual guild mates. Until now, he still could count the number he’d met on one hand with fingers to spare – only Mari, and Hirru, the one who this message has come from. So after making sure that his equipment was strapped in place and his consumables were stocked up, he headed for the teleporter plaza to head upwards. He didn’t think he'd immediately be squashed if something decided that his existence offended it, but he’d still have to make sure he was careful here. He didn’t want to make any of his guild mates have to go out of their way to protect him. The environment was weird. Everywhere he looked, it was like… food had been used to make everything. Not in like, the kiddish imagination of sugar and candy everywhere a la Willy Wonka’s factory – but… dried, cured meat had been layered over and over to be wood. Giant stalks of broccoli, or wheat stalks that glowed at the end, served as street lamps. The road beneath his feet was hardened Rock candy and ridiculously thick taffy to serve as grout. There was a wagon rolling along, and its wheels were massive pasta wheels for one pair, and cheese wheels for the other. He rubbed his eyes and did a double take, before giving a weak shrug. ”Right. Now, where did his map ping show he was? It took him a few minutes, but he eventually spotted the hunter a short distance away from the plaza, fiddling with his menus as he waited. Rey walked over, waving his hand in greeting. ”Afternoon, I think at least, Mr Hirru, nice seeing you again!” Rey stats inbound in the morning.
Mari 1 Posted Tuesday at 05:11 AM #3 Share Posted Tuesday at 05:11 AM (edited) "Gods...I hate this floor." Mari wasn't able to enter the city, but judging by the two blinking dots on her map, that was where her guild mates were. The woman couldn't enter with her orange marker. So she looked at it's gates, debating on if she should use disguise or mask herself up...last time she had tried but with everything on the floor made of some kind of food, it made things brittle, easy to break. All it would take is for her to take one wrong step, to have a boot land a little too hard in the ground. The woman had already spent far too long on this floor, investigating and exploring it with Raidou and Eruda when it first opened up, although...she had never really managed to meet up with them either. The curse of her sins. One she no longer cared to change. "Guess they forgot." Wasn't the first time, and wouldn't be the last. Mari was done caring. She shrugged and turned away from Waveside, shooting a small glare at one of the guards - a giant fluffy doberman who was staring her down, pools of drool dripping at his feet. Yup. She hated this floor. Mari rounded the outside of the settlement, knowing the layout of the surrounding area; and having the information from Raidou, who mapped out the safe zone...Mari was able to find a place just off the shore, where she could see the docks that lead into the busting city. Far enough to not alert the guards into attacking her, but close enough to be able to see two green cursors bobbing alongside each other at the docks. One of them would be Hirru. The other, she wasn't sure. Mari pulled a small wooden stool out of her inventory. and smoshed it into the ground, breaking through a layer of dry biscuit and revealing moist chocolate cake beneath her. The smell made her feel nauseous. Far too sweet. Mari --> Hirru: If you gonna stay in the safe zone, let me know and I'll leave. She sent the message off, not thinking about how harsh it may have sounded. She was usually short and blunt with her messages. She honestly didn't care if her guild mates stayed in the city. But if they did, there was simply little reason for her to stay. ----------------- Fishing Attempt: 256073: CD:2+1 LD: 4+1 = FAIL Exp: 3 +2 Master Angler 660--> 663/500 Mari | HP: 740/740 | EN: 106/106 | DMG: 21 | MIT:143 | ACC:4 | AA | FL.AURA: 8 | BH:41 | BRN: 56 | ENV-O: 32 | PARA-V | LD:5 |True Tier 15 Inventory: LD+2 Golden Key |Golden Key 249209d | Golden Key 249209e| Golden Key 249210a | Golden Key 249210b |Golden Key 249210c | Golden Key 249210d | Golden Key 249210e Edited yesterday at 11:14 AM by Mari

Various activities and events following the last floor boss fight kept Jomei from checking out the newly unlocked Floor Thirty. Gathering hosted by friends, quests to get ahead of the game before scouting for the next labyrinth, and plenty of rest and 'days off.' It was the least they deserved after dealing with everything they had on Floor Twenty Nine. He could swear he could still smell the murky salt water and mud that had caked onto his clothes. There wasn't even much information that reached him about the new floor, except for the fact that it was referred to as the polar opposite of its downstairs neighbor. As he walked through the Fire Forest, the center of Glyndebourne his destination, his mind painted images of what he could only imagine this new floor looked like. What on Floor Thirty could create such a stark contrast from the previous floor? A candy land-esque land where everything was seemingly made of food was definitely the last thing he expected. Loading.. Floor Thirty // Waveside "..chocolate?" Jomei would say to himself as he stepped from the platform housing the teleporter onto the planks that made up the dock bound settlement. They looked like wood and bent slightly under his weight like wood, but the milky brown color made them appear closer to large bars of chocolate. As well as the unmistakable, sweet scent that blended pleasantly with the salt from the sea. Citizens of Waveside passed by Jomei as he stood in the town's square, tall, bowlegged, and canine adjacent. Reminded him almost of werewolves or gnolls at first, but their peaceful presence calmed his nerves. "At least there's a safe zone this time." Jomei would sigh with relief, before opening his menus to check the map ping Hirru had sent them. Three dots, two nearby, one just outside of the city lines. Either someone was feeling antisocial, or Mari had joined in on the group gathering session. He would hum to himself as he looked at the paths - one leading towards the docks, the other leading out of town. Despite his wanting to catch up with Hirru and whoever had joined him, and Mari's sometimes reluctance to accept companionship, he decided to join the latter. Even on the outskirts of Waveside, food-like materials made up the entirety of the floor. Chives, mint, and other herbs grew from the ground like blades of grass, gently brushing his boots as he diverted off of the path. Sitting there on a stood beside gently lapping waves, the familiar red head. "Catch anything?" he would ask, squatting next to the stool and looking out at the salty ocean. The rich smell of chocolate cake hit his nostrils, and he looked down to see the mud-like substance beneath them. "This floor is definitely... something." Mari 1 Posted 3 hours ago #5 Share Posted 3 hours ago (edited) "Catch anything?" say "J-Jomei?" Mari asked, looking up from her fishing rod, she had just finished affixing a gummy fish to the hook. She was surprised to see him. "What are you doing here?" A question spoken from genuine surprise. Mari had expected him to go join Hirru, and whomever else was with him. "Why aren't you in the safe zone with the others?" A question stemmed from someone so used to doing things on her own. Being on her own. Even with the company of her husband. Mari glanced down to her right arm, still pink, still healing from being burned. Slowly, it dawned on her - her own question being answered. "Ah... I get it." A sheepish and forced laugh as she scratched the back of her head. "I appreciate it, but if you wanna go spend time with the others, don't let me stop you." Mari felt a little awkward, the last time she had properly talked to Jomei, it was under less than ideal circumstances. He had seen a side to her she'd rather not have her guild mates see. The part of her steeped so deep in the trenches of the underbelly of Aincrad that sometimes, Mari felt like she was loosing herself. "Yeah...this floor is....welll..." She'd tap her boot against the ground, and the top layer began to crack - revealing chocolate sponge cake beneath. "You can eat everything here. Aside from some bones uhh - further west." Mari would point her chin in the direction as she cast out her line. "I did explore the floor a little when we first cleared the boss, so got a decent outlay of the land. I should send the information to you all...huh?" It never occurred to her, to share her information with her guild members till now. Mari felt a little guilty, but she also had to remind herself she was a little preoccupied being tortured. For a week. A small dip of the floater, and a reel in of her line let Mari pick up a single material. "This..is probably the slowest way for me to gather things...but...I really like fishing yanno? Its peaceful." Mari fell silent for a moment then cleared her throat. "How have you been?" An attempt to be more social, and breach that gap between the two of them. ----------------- Fishing Attempt: 256152: CD:10+1 LD: 4+1 = SUCCESS Exp: 8 +2 Master Angler 663--> 673/500 Mari | HP: 740/740 | EN: 106/106 | DMG: 21 | MIT:143 | ACC:4 | AA | FL.AURA: 8 | BH:41 | BRN: 56 | ENV-O: 32 | PARA-V | LD:5 |True Tier 15 Inventory: LD+2 Golden Key |Golden Key 249209d | Golden Key 249209e| Golden Key 249210a | Golden Key 249210b |Golden Key 249210c | Golden Key 249210d | Golden Key 249210e Mari total Loot +1 Material Edited 2 hours ago by Mari
