[F1-PP-PT] Proving a Point #1 (SOW: Keepers of Nature Part 1)

Pacing in front of the quest board on floor one, in her own head, letting her thought get the best of her. Gaius had told her that once he could prove that he was strong enough that they would move forward. That was weeks ago and time after time she has seen this man brutally murder boss after boss. It made her tingle to see how strong he had gotten and yet not a peep about the marriage. Maybe he meant when he could protect her with no one else around. It made her start thinking that maybe they had to do something that would challenge his strength against all odds. Stopping in front of the quest board, she remembered seeing something on the guild hall table that might do just that. Scrolling through each quest trying to remember the name of it. Her finger would lay dormant on the SOW quest line. "This, this should do." Taking the quest with a smile, this should be more than challenging for their level. Raidou had told us once that it was dangerous and to not take it until they were truly ready. She would heath the warning but she knew that every single Firm Anima member has grown in a mass amount, they should be okay.

It was mid afternoon and Gaius should be finishing his mid lunch snack by now. Pulling the messages up she would type:

I have a challenge for you. I have taken a quest that has fruitful rewards but it has multiple parts to it. Annoying I know but worth it, I promise. Meet me at the fountain on floor one, I'll be waiting.

Her HUD would chime as she would sent it off. The PS was for her sake and his. She had forgotten last time before she left and came home to a tornado of foods and items trailing throughout the entire out. It was a bitch to clean up. Most of the day she had been with her twin just enjoying each others company. It had been a while since she had just sat down and had a chat with her. In a real way she missed it, she really needed to do it more often. She would sit on the fountains edge waiting for her love to either show up of message.

After a few minutes of nothing, she would decide to get a head start. Following the little green arrow she would find a cavern. "HMM this brings back terrific memories" she would say out loud as she heads into the deep dark cave. Heading in deeper she would see a light the was glowing against a wall to the left that was coming from the right. This looked promising, she would follow that light until she came upon a large wall that was slightly open. Peering inside she would see a massive looking tree. This appeared to be what they were looking for. She would send another message with coordinates to this locations and describe the path she took in detailed descriptions so that it was easy to find her.

Answer the call of his roommate and what equated to girlfriend, Gaius was a little taken aback by the sudden message. Normally they just spent mornings together, or babysat a pair of wild familiars. There was a civility and consistency to their living arrangements, and Gaius had found himself needing her activity more often then not. But they both lived entirely separate lives outside of it, and had hardly shared much more then pecks on the lips or a hug or two. Hardly anywhere as deep as most couples. The joke of calling the pets kids wasn't lost on him, as quite often they acted that way, and it was what stuck in his head as he'd travel to where he assumed this little affair would take place. A challenge? That was her wording, and knowing Freya it was likely something random and odd. The blonde was quite quirky and obtuse at times. The Dragoon knew he was the thing that gave her life some balance, given she was so wanderlust and uninhibited.

"I'm here." He quips as he walks into a cave, scanning the room using his spear as a light source like a torch. The soft white glow of its tip being rather encompassing with its bloom. Spotting Freya he'd bark a familiar greeting. "Good.... afternoon, the hell are we?" The question jumped the gun and skipped into that sentence faster then he wanted, but it bothered him. Waving around his weapon he spots some fixture in the rooms center, and glances at a big blanket of strange symbols all over it. "A pinecone?" The guy scoffs finding this game to be so damn weird at times. "We are here to read about pinecones?"

Tracing her finger tips against the would trying to recall what these symbols might mean. Hearing a familiar voice echoing through the caverns, she would take a deep breath and try to concentrate. If it was a voice that she knew off hand she would of pulled out her weapon and hid from the figure. With that not being the case this time, she would be relieved that her love showed up. A greeting that was all to formal, everything with them was formal. It was like they just enjoyed the company of one another but it almost felt like they were both stuck and afraid to move forward with the next step in their relationship. Things have been amazing since the talk, she made herself more readily available and made it to where she was spending more time at home. He was teaching her to be a better cook and in turn he was learning a few things from her as well from the lessons with Nisa. 

She couldn't help but laugh, "I mean I guess it kinda looks like a pinecone. To me it almost looks like a bears maw baring its teeth, and that looks like a tree maybe." It had to mean something but what. She kinda didn't pay much attention in school, Eruda would of been much better at this. "This is one part of a greater quest line. In Raidou's notes it is meant to challenge you, to see what we can do." A twist of her head back toward him with a smile. "This is what you wanted if I remember right." Glancing back down at the edgings and pointing to one "What does this look like to you, think picture with another meaning to it. This is something that needed to be deciphered I guess?" That is what this had to be right. It showing something but had a different powerful meaning that has yet to come to her.

Listening intently to Freya's description of the center pedestal, not sure what she was getting at in the slightest. "I guess?" The dragoon remarks lifting an eyebrow and tilting his head, trying to see what she saw on the symbol. It wasn't quite clicking how she saw what she had. "You found this quest on the guild hall table or something?" He was a slight bit curious why now was the time to start digging in ancient looking caves, had something happened these last couple days? They had both began to understand one another, practicing their crafts within the rolling bite much more frequently. Gaius had assumed the girl had become some sort of understudy to a chef, not entirely sure who but had his guess. Her skills had grown quite a bit in a short time, giving him a run for his money and making it much easier to get all of his work done.

"Alright uh, well I enjoy a good challenge. But I am not much of a reader..." The man remarked pushing his finger against the stone at another of the etched symbol. "Starfish? Christmas tree? Uh... The Eifel tower?" The man wasn't convinced at any of those answers, and felt as though he was getting nowhere fast.

Gaius was hovering so closely trying to figure out what these carved pictures were. She could feel his breath on her neck, taking a deep breath trying to even the rapid pounding in her chest. "I kept skimming over it while looking for information on the new floor" clearing her throat as she was trying to focus. Tracing the bear pic again, she would remember something that she had seen in the books her teacher made the class read through. "I really never liked reading either but this, I remember this." Studying all the different carvings. "I read once that the bear stood for courage, strength and protection. This" she would pause and point to what now looked like waves "This it was said that in large body of water there were ancient protectors of underwater city." Glancing over each one carefully. "That looks like the myth of the fortress tall walking mountain. It was said that he guards a really old artifact that has never been seen just rumors of what it could be and do." 

She would turn and be face to face with her man now, faces inches apart. Opening her mouth at first to speak but nothing came out. His face was full of confusion and she told him there would be no more secrets or unspoken words toward one another anymore. "I am going to be dead honest here, I want to marry the hell out of you." She would place her hand on his cheek, "You once told me before the proposal that you needed to prove that you were strong enough to protect me first. This quest" another pause as she would move closer as her other hand would move to his neck. "I know you are more than capable from what I have seen these last few weeks, so this quest is me respecting your wishes. We will prove that we can protect each other from whatever comes our way. NO more distance, no more waiting, lets go kick some ass so we can get married." Her right hand held his cheek as the other found warmth on his neck as she locked her green eyes with deep green.

The tomb behind them would begin to glow in a bright vibrant light as they spoke notifying them that they solved the puzzle.

The smell from Freya's hair was a little alluring, a hint of cinnamon on it showed that she had been baking cookies or some pastry recently. "You get all of that from these little pictures?" Gaius remarked shaking his head loosely, trying to keep his head on straight from the intoxicating and inviting scent coming off of her. Abruptly she turns to look at him, close enough to have their noses touch. Freya was quite a bit shorter but with the risen stairs she was damn near at eye level. "Alright uh..." The man felt as though he was put on the spot, scratching the back of his head and weighing his options before choosing to speak again. "Sure, I suppose that does check out. Its settled, although it wasn't how I expected to actually get hitched some day." Grabbing the girls hand as it was pressed into his face, following as it slid to his neck. A flash of light and a prompt pops into view, as if response to the question. A draft mills the catacomb, the winds of change were in motion.
