[PP-F1] A Date with Danger (Tristan Delaney)

Recommended Posts

As we neared the the place we were going to eat, Tristan asked my name. I gave him the same answer that I gave everyone else even though I trusted him more. I'll tell you what I have said to others: my name isn't important. So this is the place? My eyes made contact with the name of the restaurant and I immediately started to question this whole thing. The Fat Duck...is this your idea of a good place to eat? I did appoint you to choose where we ate but I didn't think you'd choose something that sounded so...gross. I said, always being picky with everything. It was a bad habit for me to have, being too blunt made me unlikable yet here I was. On a date.

"Don't worry Kiru, it's much better on the inside." He simply opted to viewing their HUD for the name, something people often forgot to do to check their username.

True to his word, when they went inside it was by one word, fabulous. It was decorated to the highest quality, with large paintings and had several tables with plates and drink ready for customers. It was sparsely packed simply because of the price, which meant a lot of players only ate on rare occasions, if they even had the money to go there. It was said only at the least A-class ingredients were cooked and cooks who had mastered the cooking skill were allowed to work here. With prices like these, the pay was probably worth it.

Clearly inflation hit, the price increased to 900, but he didn't mind. He had the money, so transferred the Col at the front to the waiter, giving them access to all the food and drink they wanted for the night. They were guided to a table where they could choose from a menu. Tristan sat on a two chair table, Kiru opposite him. In the background a quiet and relaxing piano played by a performer, or maybe a recording from a crystal.

"So, does this suffice your needs?"

Tristan glanced at the menu for what to eat.

With that a smile seemed to grow on my face. Behold, someone who is smart enough to look instead of pestering me for my name! And I sure hope it is, I'm a bit fastidious when it comes to food.

The moment I stepped foot inside The Fat Duck my eyes began to glimmer at the decor. The walls were an opaque yellow, nothing too bright. The accented white flowers on the walls spiraled around. I then noticed the big paintings covering the back wall, then were brilliantly crafted, maybe someone in the is game created them? If that wasn't enough the centerpieces in the center of each and every table perfected matched the space, tying in all the different colors in the place. No one knew this about me but I really enjoyed having things match, especially interiors.

After Tristan, being a gentleman, paid the hefty price to dine I followed him to a table with two chairs. It goes beyond! I exclaimed, not even trying to hide my joy. Instead of looking at the menu I began to mess with the flowers in the middle of the table. The blue carnation in the bouquet matched the water in the paintings. The lilacs matched the rest of the gorgeous flowers, everything was so pretty.

Tristan smiled, her reaction being basically a large 'Yes!'. Clearly this was the right choice then. He supposed women loved being treated now and then though, so it seemed a sound enough idea to do so.

He looked over the menu for the foods available. They were all foods with the real life equivalent of them labelled next to them, the food which the chefs attempted to reproduce. From what he heard they were near perfect at it too.

He finally decided on some food and got some wine with the food, waiting only for a very short while. After all, cooking was done with great ease in SAO if you had the right skills. When the food he ordered and whatever Kiru ordered came, Tristan only just managed to keep his mouth from dropping. It looked amazing. He sincerely hoped it tasted the same too. He waited for them both to take their cutlery up before he began eating, as was generally polite. He was well versed in all the classic british way of eating politely, as was taught by his grandmother years ago.

When the NPC finally walked into the room, filled with us and a few others, I felt anxious. The food he was holding with one hand smelled amazing from where we were sitting. After placing the two plates of food in front of us I gawked at the creation, it was beautiful. The thick pasta noodles on my plate were accompanied by spinach and tomato chunks topped off with a yellow zesty sauce and parmesan cheese. Tristan's plate had seafood, which wasn't my cup of tea. Since I was in a good mood I didn't criticize his choice and make fun of how it looked, pretty funny. I picked up my fork and raised an eyebrow at Tristan. Shall we?

Tristan nodded with a smile at Kiru who held also a plate of food, more of the pasta type. It also looked delicious, but he had his own to deal with. "Well, this food won't eat itself."

Tristan politely ate the food at a reasonable pace with the aforementioned training in table manners. They would probably have talked more if their food were not so nice. The taste was so good, it distracted any thoughts one had while eating. Tristan ate quietly his mussels at the moment. "How is your food?" He said when his mouth was empty, hard as doing that was.

Before replying to his question I made sure that I wasn't eating. It's great. I ate my food quietly in a lady like manner, we were eating fancy after all. The noodles combined with the sauce had an amazing taste to it, the other things included too. I ate mine quicker than Tristan but I set my fork and knife diagonally perpendicular on the edge of my plate to show that I was finished.

Tristan smiled and sat back in his chair, after taking a drink to calm himself down. The taste was impressive and he enjoyed it, letting himself savour what they just had.

Tristan thought for a moment "Ah! I've got something for you. Give me a moment."

Tristan opened his inventory then removed a <<The Hoya of Minos>> Pendant pendant, which he put out with an open hand towards Kiru. "I want you to accept this. Its a Hoya of Minos, which you may have heard of before."

It was the pendant gotten only through a quest which was highly sought after, be it for birthdays, weddings or just as a present. You had to fight Minotaurs to reach it after going through a maze.

Sounds fancy. You went through all that trouble to get a little necklace? I eyed the pendant in his hand with a skeptical look on my face. If he got this specially for me then that could mean a few things. Now, dropping back into my habits or insults I continued on. You aren't proposing to me are you? If you are then I bet you already know my answer by now. I waved a hand at the necklace in his palm and giggled a little bit.

Tristan chuckled, more so by her last part referring to earlier. He jested with the tone saying "Oh p-lease, that would need at least two more dates before I even consider that."

Tristan put the pendant on the table in front of her and put his hand back to the table to rest on, his other hand in a fist from which his chin leaned on as he looked at her to speak.

"I did, though at the time I hadn't met you, so it was something to keep hold of until I found a time to use it. It just felt like...right now was a good time to give it." His voice was gentle and his smile small but honest.

I laughed at his little joke, happy that he wasn't proposing to me at the least. I didn't plan on making friends here, I planned to kill everyone so consider yourself lucky! I hesitantly took the pendant and turned it over in my hand. It was a beautiful pendant with gold detailing. Thank you. I said, still studying the item in my hand. A moment later I smiled and placed it in my inventory.

Tristan nodded a 'your welcome' with a smile as she gave her thanks, pleased that she liked the gift. After all, he had no one else to give it to, so it seemed reasonable enough.

"Well I certainly prefer getting close to people in the emotional sense than the sword-through-heart sense." He added with jest, then let himself rest in the chair. He wondered whether he wanted dessert or not, the menu there for them to look at.

(I wonder if you noticed the pendant pattern is Esdeaths tattoo as well  ;) )

That's what most people prefer. But that isn't what you are always offered. I said and noticed the menu in the middle of the table. It was a desert menu! I flipped through what seamed like a million of pages of sweets. I narrowed it down to one that looked really good. There was strawberries, kiwis and cream cheese or something, but it was in an interesting way. They were all small cubes stacked into a big cube. What are you getting? You are getting desert right? I looked up from the menu and handed it over to Tristan.

[The picture is really big so it's hard to tell but yes. That's really cool!]

I dug my fork into the first strawberry, then a kiwi. I also tried to play some sort of Jenga with my fruit blocks but that didn't work. It ended up being delicious for just fruit. How is it? I asked, biting down on my last piece of fruit. Once again, I finished Tristan and wait for him. He ahd another thing I didn't prefer, chocolate, but that didn't matter either. I just stared at him the whole time smiling.

Tristan ate with a smile on his face, nodding. "Lovely indeed. And with your facial expressions, I assume was good too. Looked rather creative for sure, until it became one with your stomach." he said with a slight chuckle.

Tristan finished hid food and put his fork down, then took a sip of his wine. He thought this was a rather good evening, as far as evenings went. They ate great food and he gave her a much sought after pendant as a gift. He felt that any further advancement may end up with him having a dagger through his chest though, unless hints were dropped that said otherwise.

"I take it you enjoyed fine dining then?"

I nodded my head after smiling at his joke. I did Tristan...I really did. I clasped my hands together and closed my eyes. I started to reflect on my night tonight. Overall, I had a really good time. The food was prime and I didn't feel as agitated as usual. It was probably the food or something but I wasn't as "hostile" as people say I am.

Tristan said "well I suppose it has got to that time then.", standing up out of his chair and stretching a bit.

They both walked out into the quiet night outside, the virtual stars shining in the sky.

He turned to Kiru and spoke gently: "So, i suppose I'll see you later then. I'll send you a friend request if that's okay..." He opened up his menu and sent one to Kiru.

Tristan felt slightly awkward. He was having the suspicions that he had developed feelings for her, though was heavily unsure of her own, which made it hard to tell what to do.

I stood up from my chair and took one longing gaze at the beautiful centerpiece. The arranged flowers were probably my favorite part of the space, making everything come together. I nodded a thank you to the server and walked out into the night with Tristan. As part of a habit, I looked up at the sky. It was filled with realistically twinkling stars, a very neat sight to see. It topped off the night, that's for sure. Yeah...Later. I said and glanced at Tristan. Under the illumination of the night sky he was actually kind of attractive. I blushed and realized the thought I just had. must have had too much to drink. No, that can't be, I didn't drink anything alcoholic did I? I said, shaking the thought from my head and started to part ways with him. My finger hovered over the decline button. In the end I closed my eyes shut and pressed the Accept button. With that, I took one last glance at Tristan and started to run away. That didn't work out so well. My boot caught on an uneven part of the stones and I fell straight on my face.

Tristan was about to say 'hey wait' as Kiru walked away, to ask if he wanted him to escort her home, as was gentlemanly after a date.

His voice was cut short by Kiru's boot going awry and sending her head to a literal nosedive, in collision course with hard concrete.

Tristan with his Performer acrobatics though managed to dance his way around so he caught her though. Just another pro of being a performer. He held Kiru from the shoulders with one arm and her waist from the other and had her fully supported close to standing.

Tristan gave a very mischievous grin as he held her so she was sure not to fall and said in jest "I think you just fell for me."
