(OP- F2) Walking the Floors (Completed)

Recommended Posts

Unaware of his location, Arekkusu looked at his map to see if there is anyone or anything nearby. He continued walking through the cave with his sword lazily set down next to his leg. He didn't really expect much, the cave may have been dark, but he relied on his ears to track down enemies or other players. His blood felt cold and his eyes were hollow, it's possible for him to have lost his sanity. Arekkusu intended to walk the game out, just keep walking and fighting until the 100th floor had been cleared. He didn't care if he died, at least he'd escape the trouble of even fighting for those he doesn't even know. As if he had not been saved several times, yet he still chose to walk alone out of sheer independance and stupidity. He heard a small growl noise from behind him, it was deep and scratchy. Arekkusu just closed his eyes and threw his sword backwards towards the ground, which caused the rock around it to break. The growl then faded, a few footsteps faded as Arekkusu just stood there. Finally, the footsteps were no longer in hearing range. Arekkusu then pulled the sword from the ground, then he looked forward again. There wasn't much light ahead, in fact, it seemed to be getting darker.

Arekkusus muscles tensed up as he saw the red lights on the wall. A swarm might it be? Arekkusu still kept on walking anyways, not even slowing down the pace. When he got in range, he was relieved that it was only lights. THe trail of lights guided him along the way, accompanying him to what he was about to face next.

Arekkusu finally stopped when he saw a three-way fork. A maze, just what he needed. All three doors had "?" on them, mocking Arekkusus skills being too low to reveal what's behind those doors. He just stood there waiting for something to happen, maybe a key to appear or an arrow sign or at least an enemy attack to entertain him. It was just Arekkusu, the red lights, and the doors.

"I guess I'll just have to break down the doors!" Arekkusu exclaimed. He charged at the door to the right with his arms towards the right, ready to baseball swing his way through the door. The sword bounced off of the door, not even leaving a scratch on door. Arekkusu knocked on the door, maybe someone was behind it already.

The door didn't open, leaving a confused and angered Arekkusu standing there. Finally, Arekkus decided to play alongside the rules and put his palm on the door. A blue circle circled around his hand and the door opened. A sword flew out from the door, just barely missing Arekkusu's chest. Arekkusu stumbled back and fell. A monster then appeared, a bat-like enemy, but much larger than the average bat, and obviously much more devastating.

Arekkusu stumbled back up, but only to see the bat charging at him fast.

"Look out!" Rowan push him out of the bat's claws. His sword barley blocked them after that, the bat start to fade in the room around them.

Alarmed by the other player Arekkusu stepped back. Arekkusu was shocked by the existance of a player. How did Arekkusu miss him? It didn't matter now, just for now he is helping Arekkusu, so Arekkusu didn't shun him.

"I'll stall this thing!" Arekkusu yelled bravely, ready to take damage. "Just get ready to strike!"

Arekkusu ran at the bat, knowing that chances of actually hitting it is low. He still ran at the bat with his sword extended, ready to backslash it. The bat reacted quickly as well, blacking the attack with its wing. Arekkusu tried to press through to at least get a little damage.

Just barely did he actually pull through and Arekkusu struck the wing again, the bat this time stumbling back. "It's exposed!" Arekkusu exclaimed. "Attack it now!"

That player...Rowan wander how he always find himself in such situations.
He doesn't seem like an experienced player. He had to much excitement in his voice, to much impulsiveness in his moves.
But still he went through floor 2 cave by himself while Rowan was busy on sleeping, and he had a talent.

Rowan already start to run toward the bat before Arekkusu finish his sentence, and use the opening to slice a deep cut in the bat body. On his way he manage to avoid most of the bat's claws, but one of them stile scratch him.

Good, good. Arekkusu thought. If they could keep hitting it over and over, they have a chance at winning. Arekkusu ran forward once again, this time making sure to cut it directly through.

Arekkusu jumped forward quickly and slashed at the bat, hoping to at least stun it.

Arekkusu looked at the area in which all the data shattered into pieces. He just stared at it.

That was an annoying enemy. Arekkusu thought to himself. He felt ashamed for not being able to kill it sooner. At least they killed it at all, that could've gone way worse.

"Finally..." Arekkusu said blankly. "What kind of monster on floor 2 would be THAT annoying?"

Arekkusu turned his head to the direction in which the voice came from. It was a player, awfully familiar, but he couldn't remember where he remembered her from.

"Oh hey there..." Arekkusu said trying to remember her name. "How'd you get lost here? If you came in with no knowledge about this cave, why did you expect to not be lost?"

Arekkusu then felt hypocritical... he did the exact same thing. He got lost because he had no idea where he was going. There were two doors left to open, which one was the real one Arekkusu had no idea about.

"Well if your lost Celes," Arekkusu then paused, realizing out of pure instinct he said her name. To stall off that moment, he continued speaking. "Come with us, we could use your help anyways. We need to figure out something."

"A place to rest?" Arekkusu asked. "Then I'm sorry to say this, but you ended up in just about the opposite of that. Right now, we're trying to clear the floors. At least that's what I was trying to do. This guy helped me out though."

Arekkusu looked at the two remaining doors. One was a trap, one more must also be a trap. Another enemy, just as annoying to fight. The choice must be made carefully.

"We need to choose a door that will let us continue and out to the third floor." Arekkusu said. "Any hints to which door it might be in? Careful... last time I chose wrong there was an enemy that is very advanced for the second floor."

Arekkusu tilted his head, nothing seemed to be there. Celes might have been a bit better of a player than Arekkusu expected... either that or she just knows how to guess really well. Either way, she seemed to get the door to unlock, and Arekkusu was glad it didn't trigger anything yet.

"Nice work!" Arekkusu applauded. "It seems this is the way to go, stay alert and brace yourselves for any incoming attacks."

His blade held forward, Arekkusu entered the door and made sure to see if there were no monsters ahead. He wondered if this was the end of the caves.

"Just keep your senses sharp and you can sense almost anything." Arekkusu advised. He once thought it was perfect until another player was actually able to successfully hide from him even when his senses were up. But Arekkusu figured that monsters were too stupid to figure such things.

"Just keep your spear ready, if anything goes down, you have to back me up." Arekkusu explained.

The door closed behind the two of them. It was a trap, and they had just been caught. The lights on the walls lit up with a strong flame and a monster spawned in each corner of the room. Four skeletons in light leather armour and curved swords appeared.

{Wow you advanced a lot while I wasn't here, now I have to find a reason for that T_T}

"Well it's stronger because the game sense both of us" Rowan replied absently. Something catch his eyes, could it be? An iron ore! He was so frustrated from the last time he accidentally broke the last iron ore around. He try to attack it, but he doesn't talk much about thatnow he have a chance to cover his mistakes. Now he's gonna pull it out.

While he tried to mine the iron, he heard Arekkusu talk with someone about something, then they start to brake doors together. "I forgot to mention. This place is not a cave, it's a spreading maze, he will build itself as long as you continue. You can always go back, but if you will continue to go on you will eventually...Ho look! I got it!" He pull out the iron ore and turn around to show it to Arekkusu, but Arekkusu wans't there.

Suddenly, the door slammed in front of him while the alarming sound filled the air. "Are you Okay?" He shout. A trap alarming sound,  this can't be a good....

"All right Celes, we're both just about even." Arekkusu stated. "We need to stick together or they will outnumber us in a way that is way worse the you can imagine. I'll attack first, then switch out so you can go in, then switch out and I'll go in. Let's keep ourselves doing this formation."

Arekkusu ran with his sword exteneded. "All right! Who's up first?" Arekkusu exclaimed. He then got in range of all four Skeletons, but only aimed for one.

  • Rolled a 8 on the d10 (battle) dice.
  • Rolled a 1 on the d10 (mob) dice.

Arekkusu slid with his knees below the swords of the skeletons and quickly stood back up. He kicked the skull of one of them to turn the body around, then sliced it through it's neck.

"Celes!" Arekkusu yelled. "Switch!" Arekkusu then jumped over the Skeletons and jumped behind Celes.
