[OP-F4] A Night to Remember [Limit: Reached] (Closed)

They pulled into Snowfrost Town, in all of its frozen glory. Around them stood buildings that would've likely been regarded as works of art, had they not been the very real shops of players and homes of NPC's. More than a couple of the noble edifices seemed to be molded from ice and snow, giving them elegant and regal appearances- though he wondered what would happen if the floor were to suddenly warm up some day. Others had the appearance of log cabins, which seemed cozy and comforting; despite lacking the flair of their more exotic counterparts, they had a certain charm of their own. "Who wouldn't want to come home to one of those?" he wondered. "A nice fireplace inside, and a nice warm meal..."

He snapped back to reality as Rebekah answered him with a question. "Actually, I was sort of getting the feeling that you might it here," he mused. Thinking back to the comments she'd made about her family life, he figured that she might be one of the few that expressed a preference for this freer world. As for himself, he couldn't say that he preferred it- but it grew on him with time, and there were plenty of interesting people in it. He turned to Rebekah and gave a shrug of his hand. "By the way, I have no idea where your shop is, so I hope you won't mind taking the lead for this last stretch."

Well, Rebekah was expecting Azide to lead the entire way, but forgot to realize that her shop is tucked in a corner among a string of other floor 4's stores of past players that she has visited. Perhaps that was why her shop was relatively unknown as since the closure of both of their shops, that part of the street has become quiet, which was nice for her, as she was able to live more freely instead of burdening herself daily with crafting new materials. For her it was not the col that she would earn, she already had more than enough by her standards, but it was to max out her skills.

Snapping back to reality, she lead him the way to her small but cozy cafe on this floor. It had been a while since she had been back, as she had been out and about these last few days, hoping to grind every last bit of training. Tonight was mostly a night off after working really hard the last few days, but it was nice to be back, in her comfort zone of her shop.

In her signature wordless fashion, Rebekah led them effortlessly through the chilly town- it was, after all, her de-facto home. She probably knew it just as well as he knew the Town of Beginnings.

Eventually, they came to a stop in front of what seemed to be a cafe of sorts. Remembering the quiet ambience of the various coffee shops he'd studied at many a night, he couldn't help but notice how good of a fit it was for her. Its quaint location only further cemented the feeling.

He dragged his hand through the air in a weary motion- even Azide wasn't immune to the effects of sleep-deprivation. After a few less-than-graceful movements, a screen popped up in front the girl.

Azide has sent you a friend request. Accept?

> Yes

No

His hand clutched the back of his neck as he explained, "I suggested a friend request earlier, but I never got around to actually sending one. So here it is- just so I don't forget." His arm dropped back his side as he let out a breath, and watched as it condensed in the cold air of the fourth floor. "I had fun tonight, by the way," he added.

A small notification had popped up on her screen, and with a few quick clicks with her hand, she had accepted the friend request. It had been a while since she was hanging out with someone else, especially after the disbanding of her current guild, the guardians of aincrad. Since the disbandment, she had basically been on a solo mission getting stronger up until today. Rebekah knew that it would take a while for her to open up to others, but after a while it would become second nature for her to talk to others.

She replied, "Thanks for walking me back." Before opening the door in her shop, even though many players preferred to stay at inns, and homes were not unlock so far, Rebekah preferred spending time in her shop, even having a sleeping bag on there. She just found it more peaceful as opposed to trying to find an inn that would work for her long term.

He answered with nothing more than a nod of his head and a genuine smile. With all the talking he'd done tonight, it couldn't hurt to work on his silent communication. "They say about eighty percent of communication is done non-verbally- so maybe she's onto something with the whole quiet routine," he wondered.

As the door creaked open, he turned and began what would be his last leg of the journey. Within the next few minutes, he'd reached the end of the street and swirled around. He could still see her modest cafe from over here, though Rebekah herself had since retreated inside. His eyes stayed fixed for just another moment before he forced himself to continue on his way back home. Or at least, the room in the back of his lab that served as the next best thing.

In some ways, his predicament had very much remained constant since earlier today- or was it yesterday? The sun was just barely beginning to peak over the horizon, and he knew he'd be getting very little sleep once he'd returned home. Or maybe he could break his strict schedule for once, and get that extra bit of rest; after all, tonight hadn't just been any random night. It'd been a night to remember, in more than one sense. Memories had brought him to the quiet glade, and memories had been made there.

As he weaved his way through the frozen town, it dawned on him that perhaps he should've thanked her. But he figured she'd probably say something along the lines of, "For what?" And that would be just fine- it was more so to express his own sentiments than to draw out anything from her. But it occurred to him that it would quite literally dawn on him if he didn't get a move on.

"Teleport, first floor," he said, closing his eyes. He decided he'd break his routine. But just this once.
