It was like the worst hail storm imaginable, multiplied by a hundred or so. "Possibly even more." Its constant presence left Azide focusing all of his attempting on evasion, giving him no opportunity to strike. "Are you stalling for time, Avalanche? That's actually pretty petty." He'd prepared himself to launch an attack during a brief pause in the attacks, only to stop in his tracks as the assault continued on. 'Next time you stop, you'll be gone." It was as if the creature had accepted that hitting the player outright would be a difficult task. "That bastard's probably just trying to run out my stamina at this point," thought Azide. "And at this rate, he might very well be successful if I have to keep on running like this." Azide continued evading the hailstorm for a good while before deciding that the creature didn't appear to be scheduling a break anytime soon. He sighed, then ran headfirst toward the fallen creature, maneuvering toward the blind spot by its legs. He knocked away a few rounds that'd threatened him, but managed to make it to the creature unharmed. Once he'd reached it, he continued all the way to the creature's head. "Farewell, Avalanche." With that, he plunged Quantum Slicer deep into its head, shattering both the creature and the bullets that had been heading his way. It left behind a large sum of col, along with a special crafting material. He smiled and sent both to his inventory. "250 col for one kill? Not bad," he muttered. Azide 0 Posted February 17, 2015 Author #43 Report Share Posted February 17, 2015 Azide walked off, heading away from the site where he'd felled the frozen giant known as Avalanche. "God damn, that was one of my longest battles yet," he thought. Ironically, it wasn't as long as a certain boar he'd once fought on the second floor, though it'd come close. "Although in the case of the boar, the length had come from both of us missing most of our hits, rather than it having an abundance of health points." In any case, he felt more than ready to return to a floor of more moderate temperature. As he made his way out of the tundra and toward Snow Frost town, he'd encountered what appeared to be a treasure chest. Upon opening the chest, however, he'd been disappointed to discover that it was empty. "Maybe next time," he thought, stepping into the teleporter. "All in all, a good day's work."
