[PP - F1] Making Friends (Khaosclaire) (complete)

Recommended Posts

Lowenthal had just gotten down completing another quest with Dante, a good friend of his. And it had been a while since, he had since Calrex. Lowenthal opened his friends list, and only saw 3 names. Dante, Calrex, and his sisters. Speaking of his sister, where was she? It showed that she was still on floor one, so at least she can handle herself there. Lowenthal closed his menu, and walked down the street. It had been a nice while since he had a relaxing stroll in Starting Town. Lowenthal found an empty bench and sat down on it. He eyes closed, and face to the sky, he relaxed.

Claire Sat at a lovely little Shoppe, one where the owners had put out an outdoor dining area, munching on one of her bread items. "Donc Fade! Could the makers of this game have made this bread anymore bland?!" She cried in indigent tone. With an unhappy look and managed to get the rest of the relatively tasteless bread down, finishing it off with a drink of water before standing up and walking around the town some more. What to do, what to do? She needed to go out training but to go alone with the threat of death looming over her head was not a fun thought. She thought she could handle it, but what if she couldn't?!

Thinking away the grim thoughts she ended up at a bench in a small impasse, with not a soul in sight save for a young man lazily looking at the sky. The nerve, here she was thinking about how to get started and this man was just doing nothing! "Must be nice…" She started in a rather appalled voice. "To have so much free time on your hands and waste it stareing up at a fake sky. Un tel imbécile!" She said shifting back into her maiden tounge as she insulted him lightly. She wasn't really mad with him per say, more with her own lack of confidance- she just needed a little punching bag of sorts. "I appologize, It is wrong of me to judge others so harshly."

Lowenthal opened one eye, and looked down. "Hm?" Before him, stood a woman. Or a goddess. And that, accent. And she was, talking to him. Lowenthal chuckled aloud and smiled. He looked back up. "Fake sky, never looked at it like that." Lowenthal said. "Well," Lowenthal looked at the girl. "At least it's a nice view." Lowenthal stood up, his hands in the pockets. "Hey, you um doing anyone, ANYTHING later?" Yoenthal said, now blushing slightly at his slip up.

"My my, so forwards~" She said with a smirk, before nodding her head to single she wasn't. "Nope, I'm a free as the day I entered into this place." The smirk faded as she looked up where he was looking. "Il peut être joli, mais faux est faux." She let out a small sigh and offered her hand to the young man, to help him up.

"I have no plans at the moment, so I suppose that means I'm totally free, all to you~" Mocking his awkwardness. With hand placed upon her breast she said to him, in a regal tone "You may refer to me as Claire, Peasant~" Sticking her tongue out at him at the end.

Lowenthal took Claire's hand and got off the bench. Lowenthal went into a mad blush as she said that she was his, he swore he could he her laughing as she said it. He raised an eyebrow to her next comment. "I think you're calling me peasant, because you've yet to ask me my name." Lowenthal did a bow, and introduced himself. "I am Lowenthal, your majesty." Lowenthal said as regal as he could, smirking and holding back laughter.

"Such an odd name, but none the less, It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lowenthal." She said with grace, giving him a small curtsy. It was an odd name for an odd man, fitting. "Now then," She picked up her train of thought. "What did you have in mind for an activity?" Brushing off the bench seat and sitting down lightly while waiting for his response. She placed her fingers on the hilt of her curved saber, rubbing it subconsciously.

"A Strawberry…thing?" she said a bit confused at what he meant. Some sort of parfait or something? Regardless it sounded like it would cost money- Cor was it? "I will have to pass mon ami, My purse happens to be a bit empty at the moment~" she said, not exactly happy with the fact, a bit downtrodden before picking up, "And I will not accept your charity to pay for me! If I m to taste this, strawberry thing, I must earn it myself, tout de suite!"

lowenthal didn't know what the girl said, but it was cute none the less. "Alright, if you shan't accept my 'charity" Lowenthal said, sort of defeated by the turn down. "Perhaps, we can go to the fields and farm some Col?" Lowenthal said. "Easiest way to make cash, not a lot. But enough." He said, trying to be honest.

"Yes, that sounds like an excellent ideal." She said briefly, before turning on her heel and starting to walk towards the exit of the city. Turning her head to look back at Lowenthal she smiled and brought up her menu. Sending him a quick party invite and stating, "You may be my escort for this task, I will here no if's and's or but's!" And then looked forwards again, continuing her path towards the field.

She looked over to him, looking at his HP numbers, seeing that he was a higher level than herself, which would make a better point man. "I will let you lead and defer to your judgment for now." It didn't take long for them to reach the gateway that separated the city from the dangerous world outside, she had traveled outside of the city a few times but never very far and not for long; she was hoping he'd be a fine enough bodyguard and teacher as to how to effectively fight the creatures of this place. She kept her eyes scanning the plains, on the look out for any creature spawns, hand at her hilt nervously.

Lowenthal nodded and lead the way out to the fields, where boars spawned. These were the basic enemies in SAO, and would prove little challenge, and they weren't that threatening. "Alright, let's take out one or two of this guys. What do you say?" Lowenthal asked his new lady friend. He wondered if she would be able to pick up combat as fast as he did when he started.

“Sound’s like a plan,†she stated, drawing her blade from it’s scabbard and standing at the ready for whatever may come out. While normally the monsters around her would be weak it was never a good ideal to leave everything up to luck, “Sooo, where are they?†The question was less at Lowenthal and more just in general, she had expected it to have been like a few other games she had seen, with huge fields full of monsters- yet it was completely clear.

Lowenthal combed the fields in front of them. "There's a few over there." Lowenthal said, pointing. He started making his way to them, finding one that would drop something. He found a boar suitable enough and drew his knife. "I trust you know how the combat works, yes?" Lowenthal asked, attacking the boar. Lowenthal just swung at the boar, not dealing damage but getting the boar's attention to him. "You see, with the combat system," Lowenthal dodged the boar. "Even if it's holding still, you can still miss."

Despite the random appearance of mobs that could do some damage to Jomei, he decided to take a stroll outside of Starting City and walk through the fields.

"This is a nice change of scenery." He said to himself as he looked around.

He chuckled at the irony as he watched various players cutting down the low level boars.

He wasn't in much of a mood to fight at the moment, being he was feeling rather hungry, so he decided to take a seat away from the action and maybe get some pointers in watching the other players fight.

So he found an uncovered wagon with nothing in it. Probably belonged to an NPC at some point, but he didn't see an any NPC's around, so he decided to make it his resting point for the time being.

He lifted his finger and opened up his HUD. Scrolling through his items he took out the round bread that he dreaded oh so much.

"o'I really need to make me some money." He said to himself with a sigh.

He was about to take a bite when he heard someone yelling nearby.

"There's a few over there."

He turned around to see a player whom he recognized; not by name, but just by seeing him around the city every once in awhile. So he decided to spin in his seat and watch as the battle took place.

Watching the double miss she cried out, 'Mon Dieu! I see, so I just go like this?' She held back her blade before charging forwards and taking a slash at it, spinning on her heels as she spun in a cresent slash. It impacted, slashing through it's hide before ending up behind it, though it seemed to have little sucess. "What? That was not enough? But I hit it in the flank!"

Lowenthal smiled as Claire hit her target. "Nice hit! A lot of people miss their first strike." Lowenthal said. "It's not that realistic." He said chuckling. "It's an all around HP system." He tried to explain, as he swung his dagger. His dagger made contact with the boar, and Lowenthal grinned as the red streak  appeared on the boar. The boar froathed at the mouth and charged at Lowenthal. He tried to dodge, but was too slow as the boar's tusks dug into his leg.

"I see, very strange indeed, but no matter, I shall try again!" She said aloud, Feet dancing a circle around the boar while its focus was on her bodyguard of a partner. Getting more into the flow of battle she carved the talwar across the flank of the opposite side, hoping to strike deep enough to damage it severely. Alas, it was not to be so, and she stumbled as the blade missed the overgrown swine by a wide margin. "Confound it all, Stay still, Vous morceau de mammouth de lard!"

Lowenthal got distracted as Claire shouted something in French. Lowenthal caught the 'mammoth' part but was even more distracted when the boar dug it's tusk into his leg again, causing him to fall down. "Gah! Damn you!" Lowenthal said, kicking teh beast off of him and standing. He was starting to get embarresed, he wanted to impress Claire, but at the same time he wanted her to learn how to fight in SAO. Either way, the boar had to die.
