Walking in through the front door you're surprised to find out that the inside has a surprising modern feel to it. Looking along the left wall you notice displays filled with all types of baked goods from breads to cookies. Along the other wall is an ice chest with four different buckets meant to hold four different flavors of ice cream which are changed out on a daily basis. Turning your attention to the back of the room you notice a counter in front of a long horizontal window that provides a view into a kitchen. To the side of the counter is a chalkboard that lists the current days menu and specials. Placing them both on the counter he walked over to the faucet and filled the bottom of a pot with water. Bringing the pot back over to the counter he mixed a portion of the flour and yeast into the pot and began to stir it. Once the substance was soft and stickey, he scooped it out of the pot and began rolling it out on the counter. Now in the shape of a thick string he folded it into the shape of a giant pretzel, before brushing it with butter and sprinkling a bit of salt over the top. Walking over to the oven he slid the item in before opening up his menu and setting a timer for 10 minutes. Alerted by the sound of the alarm Shuyin walked over to the oven and pulled out the now perfectly cooked golden brown pretzel. Walking back over to his cooking station he set them down on the counter and set to peeling them one by one. Discarding the peels once he had finished he grabbed a knife and began to slice the bananas into small circles. Placing them on a pan he covered them with a little bit of salt and some sugar before placing them in the oven. Allowing them to cook until the sweet smell filled the air, he pulled out the banana chips and packaged them before placing them for sale in one of the displays in the shop. Grabbing a zucchini from his pantry he walked over to his cooking station and began slicing it up just like he had the banana. Picking up his homemade salt shaker he had made after growing tired of having to dunk a spun into the container and shake it over food. He lightly salted the pieces before putting a dash of sugar on each one. Popping them in the oven he waited patiently for them to cook before removing them. Plopping one in his mouth he gave it a quick chew before almost instantly spitting out. "Yuck! he exclaimed. Grabbing a block of cheese of the shelf, he set to work dicing it up into little squares. Making short work of that task, next he quickly whipped up a batch of dough and placed them into small squares on a tray before lightly salting them. Throwing them into the oven, it wasn't long before the buzzer went off and he carefully pulled the tray from the oven, making sure not to burn himself. Arranging the cheese and crackers onto a platter he walked out into his store and placed them for sale. Calrex walked into the Arctic Tavern, looking around before seeing the player in charge of the shop, "Hey there, I'm Calrex! I run an unofficial material gathering service, so if you're ever in need please feel free to let me know!" Shuyin 0 Posted May 27, 2015 Author #7 Report Share Posted May 27, 2015 Having forgotten to restock his pantry, he was relived when a player by the name of Calrex stopped by and offered to donate some materials to him. Gracious for the offer, he told him that he could choose from any item in the shop and take it for free, since he didn't have a very wide selection as of yet, he told him he could wait awhile and see what new inventory pops up. Taking the materials into the kitchen, Shuyin decided that he would try his hand and making some more pretzels. Quickly mixing up some dough, he followed the recipe he had created when making his first pretzel to the T. Now ready to the bake, Shuyin popped the uncooked pretzel into the oven and took a seat by the window to watch the snow fall as it cooked. Having to must of fallen asleep while watching the snow, Shuyin awoke to the small of burning bread. Quickly running to the oven he quickly pulled out the item but sadly it was to late to save it. Shuyin decided to go simple with his next creation. Grabbing some heavy whipping cream along with some sugar, he set to work mixing them together. Stirring the concoction vigorously and for a long period of time. Once he was finished, Shuyin was left with a sweet tasting cream in the bowl. Scooping it out onto the center of a platter, he set to work on the second step of the recipe. Grabbing the rest of the fruit he had in his pantry, Shuyin set to work slicing them up and placing them in an orderly fashion on the tray along the outside of the cream. Once finished he took a step back and admired his creation. Rolling out the dough, he arranged it on the tray before sprinkling a bit of salt over it. Popping it in the oven he allowed it to cook for several minutes until he was sure it was cooked thoroughly. Repeating the same steps from before he once again rolled out the dough before arranging it on a tray. Brushing it down with butter before placing the salt on it, he popped it into the oven, this time allowing it to bake for a little longer in hopes that it would turn out different. I have a quest coming up, and I don't want this to slow me down." He said as he pat his stomach. He had heard he was a good cook, and he hoped he would get something nice to be able to take home.
