She had no idea what was happening but her rapier was already drawn, so there would be no problem that she couldn't overcome. Then the ground raised several meter in the air, lifting them as well. By pure instinct, Ariel impaled her black rapier in the snow and hold tight. The two could then hear a horrible roar coming from behind and a couple of arms coming from the sides. "Well I guess we found the beast." she said while looking at Lowe. Lowenthal pleaded as the beast rose from the snow beneath them. "Whoa!" Lowenthal said, as he slid off the mound, and fell onto the ground at the Snow Beast. Lowenthal looked up to a pair of eyes, looking at him. "Um, Hi?" Lowenthal said, nervously before jamming his kunai into one of it's eyes and running away a few feet. "Ariel, you okay?" Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted June 20, 2015 Author #23 Report Share Posted June 20, 2015 'Grab something' she wanted to shout but found it too late as the orange headed guy started rolling to the side like a snowball. At his inquiry the blonde extracted her rapier and jumped high in the air. Meanwhile the mob wasn't pleased with Lowe's form of greeting it and started running after him. The blonde gracefully landed with her back at Lowe and while not losing the mob from her sight she half turned her head and said to the guy behind her "It's nice that you worry about little ol' me. But rest assured, I can take care of myself" she turned her head towards the charging mob as she continued: "At least against guys like this." She lowered her stance and as she did so, her whole body started glowing a golden aura. As she reached the perfect Pre-move, Ariel charged towards the mob, leaving behind her a golden-blue streak as the two were in a head collision course. The blonde adjusted her grip on her black bladed weapon, using her left hand to support the pommel as she thrusted her rapier directly in the mob's belly. That move alone slowed it down but was too weak to cancel the accumulated inertia and the mob continued running as the blonde slid between its feet, shouting at Lowe: "Move! or it will ram into you." He spun around to face it, fire in his eyes. Then his view was blocked. Ariel had jumped down, and landed in front of him like some sort of hero. That wasn't how it was supposed to work. "I'm supposed to be the hero." Lowenthal said, to himslef as Ariel charged her attack and rushed the large creature. Lowenthal heard the connection, and expected the Snow Beast to stop. Instead, it kept barreling through. He heard Ariel say something, but he was to busy focusing on other things at the moment. Like the giant snow beast about to squish him. Lowenthal dived off to the side, as the beast connected with the wall behind him. The impact launched piles of snow into the air, as well as projecting Lowenthal a few extra feet. He landed on his side with a soild 'omph' and slid on the ice. Lowenthal quickly pulled himself up, getting his kunai at the ready. Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted June 20, 2015 Author #25 Report Share Posted June 20, 2015 With a chuckle, Ariel chased after the two until she saw Lowe slide to the side and the mob mindlessly ramming itself into a random wall, shaking the foundation of almost the entire cove. She dusted off some remaining snow that got raised and then checked with Lowenthal. "You okay hero?... you know these two titles kind of conflict each other. By the end of this fight you might one to choose only one of them." Her eyes shifted onto the dazed mob, now it was her chance to strike it once again. She dashed towards it, significantly slower than when she used the charge skill but still with a tremendous speed. She managed to hit it square in in the back as the mob recovered. It released a terrible howl as it turned around and eyes the blonde, next bringing down its fist onto her. Ariel skilfully evade by making a couple of steps to the left, dancing her way out of danger. "too slow" she said as she went by Lowe's side. "Okay show me what you've got! hero-kun!" Hikoru 0 Posted November 21, 2015 #26 Report Share Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) As Hikoru shuddered and coughed at the cold of the 4th floor, he heard a sudden roar coming from the direction of out of town. He started to follow this, unsure of what this was. He made his way and saw a giant creature, with only two players fighting it. He ran over, un-sheathing Back-Biter and standing next to the players, wanting to help. He looked and saw it was one of his old friend Ariel, and a player that he had not met before. After giving a nod to the player, he made eye-contact with Ariel and smiled "I was in the area and I decided that it looked like you could use some help." He said with a huge smile. He was a liability to her now so she changed her position, luring the beast from Lowenthal. She clicked her tongue in frustration 'Some hero you are' she thought as she got ready to engage the beast by herself. Out of the blue a familiar face appeared near the frozen lake area where they were. "Oi Hikoru leave him alone before the mob targets him" she shouted, drawing the massive creature's attention in the same time. "Ugh..." The mob charged for her but it was slow thanks to its massive frame so she easily evaded a downwards slam with its hammer like fists and as she found a opening, she struck her rapier. "Hey, good to see ya. Not gonna lie could use some help" she said with a smile. He knew that he would be able to kill this thing no problem with her help. He saw that Lowenthal, the other player seemed to tense up. He sighed and shook his head. Ariel said she was happy for his help, and he smiled with anticipation. It felt good that he was deemed useful to his friends, and this encouraged him to take a swing at the mighty beast! From time to time Ariel would glance into his direction to see if he was OK... if nothing else, it was her duty as a Guardian of Aincrad to do so. She watched as the brave newcomer tackled the massive mob as it was recovering. Luckily it was still focused on her as she did most damage to it. She readied her weapon and once again engaged the mob. Once again she dashed towards it and made a high jump... aiming for its stomach midair. Her aim was true as always as the beast's HP bar descended once again. He charged at the beast once more, hoping to hit another decent hit upon the creature. He smirked as the blade once again hit its target, landing a good blow upon the creature. He looked at Ariel and gave her a thumbs up as he backed away from the creature, who had once again recovered. Hikoru was also doing his best so she had to not lose face to the boy. Good thing energy or physical fatigue wasn't a thing in SAO....yet. She shook her head to banish the thought and focused once again on the mob, catching a glimpse as struck the beast then gave her the thumbs up. She once again assaulted the mob, a small grin appearing across her face as she saw its HP diving in the red zone. He grit his teeth and pressed on, trudging through the deep snow and jumping, aiming for the beast once more. He smiled as he landed the hit onto its back, then ran off it and landed into the snow behind the monster, smiling as he did so. The massive beast was fighting a losing battle but Ariel doubted it knew about that. It only did what its programming told it like a perfect soldier. Ariel let out a sigh as she found herself preparing to strike it once again. 'Just give up already!' was the thought that crossed her mind but deemed futile to voice it. She dashed towards the mob and aimed for its massive trunk-like right leg, stabbing it with all her might, making the beast fall in a kneeling position. He smirked widely and jumped, hoping to land one more attack before Ariel finished it off. He jumped and shouted, striking the beast in the back of its neck, leaving a large gash in between its neck and its head. He smiled and jumped into the snow behind, gripping Back-Biter more than ever before. He cupped his hands to Ariel "IT'S ALL YOUR'S!" He shouted, his voice echoing in the wind of the mountainous air. Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted November 22, 2015 Author #35 Report Share Posted November 22, 2015 Hikoru, unlike other persons present in this battle ground, was reliably dealing yet another blow to the beast. It wasn't enough to finish it but it brought its HP to a slither of red that Ariel could wipe out with one of her attacks. She dashed towards it, not even mothering for a complicated move or even evading. She was certain that her next hit would turn the giant mass of snow into a pixelated storm in the wind. He charge was ferocius as she showed a bit of her dormant bloodlust through a creepy smile that appeared on her face the moment she was certain that her blade struck the mob. As expected the mob exploded into polygons and showered the 3 battle participants. A completion window appeared before the three showing a generic 'Congratulation' message and displaying the rewards. She turned towards Hikoru and nodded: "Good job there kid! Really helped me alot, not like that guy!" she tilted her head into Lowenthal's direction then with a shrug began walking. "I've done my job..that guy can find his way back alone! He sheathed Back-Biter into its sheath, and made his way to Ariel. She thanked him for his help, and he smiled in her direction. "Anytime Ariel." He said happily. He looked at Lowenthal, who still seemed frozen in fear, but he shrugged and followed Ariel. who said she'd treat him to dinner for his help. He cheered happily and jumped into the snow head first, enjoying the soft and cool feeling on his hot body. He got up and brushed off the last remaining pixels of snow, and followed Ariel to the Inn in the nearby town, sitting at the bar and having his fill of drinks, enjoying the rest and relaxation that was much needed for his weary body Link to post Share on other sites
