[PP-F4] <<Avalanche>> (Tristan)

Recommended Posts

The forth floor is a snowy winter wonderland. What brought the little girl that was standing at the teleport, was in fact a quest. She had bumped into an NPC, who told her of this boss, that they would like her to kill. She could have a party of 2, but she decided to just go about it with 2 people, herself and one other. She set up an open request, hoping someone was available to join her, and she sat down near the teleporter, she had in fact been waiting to kill this boss, and complete the quest for a while now.

The little girl, who goes by Cho, looked around the snowy floor, wondering if she could do it. But then she reminded herself, that this was just a little thing to do, apart from meeting up with new people, and grinding. She was doing yet another quest. She was still on the first ten floors, and had actually not gone to floor 5 just yet. She watched as snowflake after snowflake fell, and piled on her arms. She let out a wide smile, and stuck out her tongue, hoping to catch one. When one landed there, she giggled with delight.

Cho had entered the game, and this game had matured her, in ways that a 12 year old should not be matured. When she did things like this, she felt young again, like she was really the age that she was. She smiled, and pinched a snowflake. It melted with her warm touch, and she just continued watching snowflakes fall. She felt at peace here, as if this was the best town ever. It may be cold, but she didn't mind, in fact she loved the cold. It brought her joy. The weather here was beautiful, and snowy. That was one of the reasons why floor 4, was her favorite.

Cho was not looking forward to her going on Floor 5, as she just wanted to stay on the first four floors. She knew that if she did not move up however, she would never grow stronger. She shook off that thought, and made a vow to herself, right there and then. I vow... I vow to grow stronger and visit the floors above me. You can do this. She smiled wide, and looked up, reminding herself she would be starting a quest that could make her stronger than she already was.

OOC: OMG! This is the longest post I have EVER done I am so happy ^-^

Tristan was having his casual walks in the snowy plains of Floor 4. He had done a lot here to say the least and helped multiple players. He even once when a measly rank 7 with another rank 7 did Avalanche together both heavily under equipped, thus came incredibly close to death when he fought the Avalanche.

That was nearing 3/4's of a year ago though and he changed much since. He noticed an open request by a low level player to fight the Avalanche, seemingly a popular boss for low level players. "Good thing I'm about." He said to himself as he accepted the request and walked to the girl who seemed to be the one that requested it. He hoped he wasn't too intimidating with his 6ft3 height and scarred, albeit gentle, face. Not to mention he was equipped with top of the range gear. Only recently he had outclassed the high level Calrex in a duel with the Season fights, along with Rebekah earlier. He looked forward to who his next opponent would be, hoping they would be somewhat of a challenge too like Rebekah was. Calrex on the other hand was guaranteed to lose.

He waved to the girl and said "How'd ya do? Tristan here to help. You're lucky it's me who accepted this, since I can guarantee the monster will never attack you once while with me." He spoke with a small but gentle smile. His usual manner of speaking of quiet talking came across, which didn't use more energy to speak than required. There was also the the enunciated British accent which apparently some liked.

"Let's be on our way. For starters though, who do I have the honour of assisting for this fight?"

The little girl watched as someone accepted her request, and she smiled wide. She noticed someone coming close to her, he was tall. She looked way up at him, she was in fact, 4' 7". Her eyes widened, this guy was the guy who was to help her! He introduced himself as Tristan, in a quiet voice, it was quite different than she imagined it to be. She stood to her feet, then she bowed, My name is Cho. She spoke in her normal little childish voice, that she absolutely hated, and she smiled wider. She nodded her head, as he had mentioned the fight. That all the attention would be on him, that was good. I have terrible armor, so It is good. She looked back at Tristan, before she sent him the party request. This would be her party. She watched as snowflake after snowflake fell, and landed everywhere, covering the ground with even more snowy white. She made sure her weapon was equipped, and waited for Tristan, wondering if he was ready.

Tristan nodded and smiled, saying "The presence of Cho it is then.". He cracked his back a bit by stretching a bit, then looked out towards the plains of where they will be fighting, seeing that the snowy plains had a thundering sound in the distance.

"It's not usual for a thunderstorm to grace Floor 4, I have a strong feeling we've met our target." He commented as he watched for the origin of the sounds.

Sure enough, a large block of ice that was <<Avalanche>> ran across the plains towards them, roaring. Thundering in at a high pace, it looked ready to stomp them if they came close.

Thinking of previous comments by others, he threw out the words "Close your ears" to Cho, then roared with the sound that sounded like a dragon from doing <<Howl>>, attracting the monster toward them. The Avalanche as far as they were concerned saw only Tristan, Cho's existence meaningless to their vision.

Cho followed Tristan out of town, and noticed that he had found our target. I covered my ears when he told me to, and could still hear the ear-piercing roar. I gripped my war hammer, quickly unsheathing it, I ran at <<Avalanche>> as it stomped towards Tristan. I took my war hammer, and swung it down, hoping to get his foot. She slashed down, and her war hammer glowed a bright pink, upon hitting the monster, she walked backwards, so it couldn't stomp on her, then she turned to Tristan, letting him know it was his turn, she got out of the way, before bracing herself to attack when he told her to.

Tristan didn't stop from his shout, moving forward to slam his spear straight at the giant ice blocks leg, cutting a chunk of the ice. Apparently it was not happy about this, since a large leg came swinging towards them, hurtling full speed at them. Tristan shrugged though and slammed the swinging leg away with his leg as though swatting a fly. The leg that flew away was on fire from his shield and the little damage Tristan took healed immediately. He was clearly totally over levelled to this foe.

Cho gripped her war hammer, certain not to let Tristan down, before she ran at the <<Avalanche>> again, and whammed it down... After her successful hit, she jumped back, letting Tristan go, she was surprised, at how good he was... Well, it was bound to come with his high level. He really was powerful, and she felt weak compared to him... At least she could still get things done right. She watched the <<Avalanche>> movements, to catch on, and attack again, when her turn came.

Tristan smiled when he saw the damage she dealt. Unlike himself the first time he fought Avalanche, she came somewhat equipped into this fight so actually dealt a good amount of damage. He could only smile and think how life would have been easier for him back then if he had something like that when he did so.

Tristan stabbed the beast again, damaging it. The ice giant roared and came down with a hammer fist, which Tristan blocked with his shield. The ground beneath his feet cracked from the force, yet Tristan took only the slightest of damage to it. In comparison, the monster took far more damage in retaliation, now their fist licked in flames. This would be a quick job it seems.

Cho watched as Tristan fought, he was a powerful person. She wanted to become just as powerful as him, a look of determination crossed her face, as she drew back her hammer, running at the <<Avalanche>> yet again, she gripped her war hammer tightly, her determination, proved to be mighty, and she easily hit the monster, she could have done a combo hit, but she had miss-timed herself, she looked at Tristan, and nodded for him to go. Her eyes were a blaze, with the courage and determination of a 1000 man army, facing a 10 man army. She quickly walked behind Tristan, and squatted.

Tristan liked the look in this girls eyes, that of an intense determination to succeed. Clearly she was trying to as well since she smacked the foe head on relentlessly. Well, no time to slack, he himself running forward and with a vertical slice slamming the spear to the monsters shoulder. The beast attempted to punch in retaliation, but again only hit a shield and was burnt once again. This thing would be dead in no time at this rate...

Cho felt her determination only rise, as she nodded her head, after Tristan attacked, and took one damage, she glanced at hit hp bar, he had so much health, only a little had gotten taken away. She ran for the monster, and leaped on it's foot, before making her way to it's back, she had done this quickly, as she had practiced climbing trees for a while, and she used her hammer, at the same time as jumping, and whacked it's head. Her force wasn't to great, but she made the <<Avalanche>> stumble, and she jumped down quickly and easily, before turning back to face it, she let Tristan know it was his turn to attack now, knowing that the next hit he would most likely finish off the giant creature.

Tristan smiled as he saw the girl clamber up the monster and smash them. She had guts for sure and wondered who was teaching them how to fight, because they did well. Better than he did at least admittedly.

Tristan ran forward and gave the final blow on the toppling beast. Technically the fire could of killed it, but he didn't decide to wait and instead assaulted it directly and smashed the spear at them, scattering the giant into virtual pixels.

"Well, that was far easier than I imagined." He said in a light hearted tone.

Cho smiled up at Tristan, she had to tilt her head quite far back, Yeah it was! But I couldn't have done it without your help! She smiled wider, and put her war hammer away before she held out her hand for a handshake, It was a pleasure for you to be able to help me. She smiled wider, and remembered watching as the <<Avalanche>> had collapsed into a million crystals. She in fact then thought, For sure, I would have died. It dealt a good amount of damage, and had a good amount of health. That just brought back her determination to level up even faster, as she thought if I could get more powerful I could be better, like Tristan is. He was so powerful!

Tristan chuckled as he unequipped his spear and holstered his shield to his back. "Well I wouldn't count on that, but it was made a lot easier for certain. And 'tis my pleasure. I vowed more than half a year ago that I would help all the players I could to survive the nightmare of Aincrad, thus I intentionally absorb as much damage as possible."

He looked out at the snowy plains and the harsh winds and dropping of snow lessened, making it far more practical to traverse than previously. "So, you can go to wherever you reside now if you want. Or we can waste some time exploring this floor or whatnot. I've found myself not socialising often enough with the newer players of Aincrad." he said with slight humour in his voice. He was reminded of the time when he was in the Guardians of Aincrad guild ,one whose purpose was to help players, especially newer ones.

With the wind spiraling, Cho spoke to his comment, Can we just wander around? I actually don't have any place I reside in. Cho was one who had no where to live, and no where to go, she just went with the flow. If the flow happened to accept her, she would follow. She looked up, tilting her head back to see Tristan, Would you do the honor of exploring with me? She asked with a bow, she respected him way more than most players in Aincrad, he was just... So powerful! The three people she had learned to look up to, Nii-san, Meo-chan, and Tristan. Her gaze brightened, as she thought of her first meeting with Meo-chan, she instantly developed a nickname for her. She focused back on Tristan, and waited.

Tristan nodded and smiled at the girl who requested to have a aimless explore of the place. "Most certainly, I find myself roaming these snowy plains very often.". He started walking slowly with her in no particular directions, the peaceful light winds their only companion.

"You dont have a place to stay? Most of us either stay at an inn or use our shop as a place to live. I do the latter, using my music shop on Floor 2. I can help you with getting a profession if you dont already have one." He said, the tone of offer at the last of his sentence. He knew that while they didn't quite have access to housing to buy yet, it still seemed rather drastic that they had to wait so long until they had their own bed to sleep on, unless they had a shop. And even then...

Cho's eyes widened, You own a music shop?! I wouldn't think of you to be a music type of person! She heard as he asked her about her profession, I have someone helping me along. I still haven't finished that though... She gave a look of pondering, and she watched as they wandered about in awe, she had not spent much time wandering around, most of it was in the single town, mostly in the cafes, Two of my guild mates are helping me become an alchemist. She gave a (^.^) face, as she looked back out at the exploration they were doing. She wondered about many things, I just, don't stay in the inns, where I stay is temporary... Usually hidden in an alleyway... I don't like Inns very much.

Tristan chuckled and said "Yes dear, I'm a performer. I play music when I'm not fighting, though I haven't recorded any songs for quite some time I must admit." He smiled and regarded the girl as she looked out at the view in awe, then commented on her profession of choice.

"That is a rather useful profession, especially when crystallized their crafts are almost invaluable in a fight.".

He was a bit worried about her saying about staying in alleyways. "Well I can only hope your get your profession soon then, since I must admit you sleeping hidden in alleyways doesn't exactly ease my concern..."

Cho's eyes widened, and as she spoke, her voice seemed to squeak, You concern about me? She had never had anyone say they were concerned for her. It was a first.... She turned her gaze from the view to Tristan, then she wondered, What does invaluable mean? I am quite stupid when it comes to words. She was in fact told she was blonde on multiple occasions. She looked at her pink hair, and shook her head, How can people think I am blonde with this color of hair? Maybe it is just a figure of speech? She kept wondering many things, but kept her eyes on Tristan.

Tristan nodded and smiled when she seemed confused about worry for her. "Well yes, it is part of my selfless nature to want to help people. I mean, I'm a tank character exactly so, to avoid death of others. Of course this is a dangerous role for me though, so I try to keep myself protected as much as can be made possible."

She seemed rather confused at his choice of wording, but then she appeared young so that was of no surprise at all. "It means incredibly useful. Of course it is subjective what is very important for you, but regardless. For me, I find them useful as it keeps me alive." He said with a chuckle.
