[PP - F1] Friends and Enemies «Feeding the Enemy»

As Glory moved around him to attempt to strike the boar, Takao put just enough distance between them to remove the possibility of her accidentally hitting him with her sword. When she missed, Takao thought very little of it, and instead stepped forward before the boar could make any further attempts at attacking them. He hesitated for only a moment, feeling a bit bad for taking the kill right away, but ultimately resolved to end the fight before it dragged on for too long. He stepped down hard on his right foot and swung in the same manner that he had before, but reversed the direction of his cut. The blade caught and ripped a large stripe of a wound in the side of the boar, his damage output just barely enough to tick away the last of its health. He glanced back over his shoulder to Glory and offered her a smile before audibly huffing out a breath. "Phew, that went well. Those things bring back some bad memories." He said, a dry chuckle following immediately after. A quick glance around the area confirmed that no more monsters were lurking nearby, and his sword was returned to the scabbard. "We headin' back?"

"Yeah." Glory nodded and put her weapon away like Takao had when she felt safe. "Bad memories?" She asked Takao when the two began walking back to the starting city as if he were her escort making sure she returned safely and in one piece. So far she hadn't had anything but pleasant things happen to her in the game except for the part where she got stuck in it of course. Still any bad memories Glory couldn't think of so it was hard to believe anyone else could have a problem in SAO since she hadn't.

Takao's walking had paused for a moment when she inquired about the bad memories that he had mentioned. He blinked before resuming and catching up to Glory again, and he shrugged in response. "It's uh... kind of a long story. I just rushed into stuff right away with a friend and it didn't turn out so good.A solemn look had set on his face, but as soon as he realized he quickly masked it with a rather unconvincing smile. "It's all in the past now, so it's nothin' I should be worrying about." A thought had crossed his mind while walking back to the city, which prompted him to open his menu. The various options chimed as he navigated his way through, until a window offering a friend invitation appeared in front of Glory. "If you ever need help with somethin', don't be afraid to ask, yeah? I won't mind."

Guilt stung Glory's heart for asking Takao about something so personal and she almost instantly regretted delving into painful memories like that so suddenly. Even though she didn't notice Takao fall behind she knew he didn't feel so good mentioning his history so she went along with his fake smile. "Right." She didn't agree at all about doing something like that but knew she ignored he past too so Glory refrained from being a hypocrite. For a short while the two walked in what she would call comfortable silence until Takao opened his menu and Glory watched him search through it before a screen projected in front of herself. "I-If you're sure. Thank you Takao." She smiled softly before accepted the friend request that would make him her very first friend in the game. "I'll ask or help if I ever need it." Glory then turned her head slightly to look at Takao. "Don't be a stranger. Y-You're good company. And if you... if you ever need to get something off your chest and don't want people to know then just let me know." It took a lot for Glory to finally say that but when she did it was clear she knew Takao was hiding his sadness only a few moments ago, and she was being honest because Glory was a very trustworthy person.

While the two walked, Takao's attention was firmly set ahead of them on the city that slowly grew closer with each step. His expression had become somewhat distant as he kept his mind from wandering, though her voice snapped him out of it. He cast a sidelong glance at her before turning his head fully, a much more genuine yet still rather small smile on his face as he nodded. "Thanks, Glory. I appreciate it. I'll tell you all about it next time we meet up. Sound good? His words sounded just as genuine as his smile looked, and he turned his head back to the city as they passed through the large gates. He turned to face her while still walking, some pre-existing practice with foot work allowed him to walk backward with relative ease. "I'm gonna head off to the fourth floor now, so I'll see you around." He would wait for her response before he waved and brightly smiled, then turned and headed off in the direction of the city's teleport gate.

"Good to me!" She smiled with her teeth and light brown eye glimmered as she clapped to show how glad she'd be to meet up with Takao again sometime for whatever reason. "O-Okay." Glory waved back. "Goodbye." She softened her expression and stopped, watching Takao leave before he was out of view before going off to an inn by herself. A lot of thoughts passed through her mind during those few moments and it only took her a short while to realize she liked Takao so much because he reminded her of Rikuto. They weren't exactly the same, but similar enough that the name popped up in her head when she looked at him. Now she would definitely ask to see him again soon.

(i got you boy. and thanks! i'm doing pretty awesome if i do say so myself.)
