Rebekah 0 Posted September 14, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted September 14, 2015 It was time to take a rest, but before she could do that, she needed to build up an igloo. The girl knew that staying out here for a very long time was not going to be pleasant without an area to rest. She did not have a tent with her, but that was not going to protect her from the harsh conditions outside. What she did have was an igloo making set, which had allowed her to make one a lot easier. She started making blocks of ice and began to put them together. Slowly but surely the structure began to look like what she wanted. This was going to keep her safe if it was going to take days out here. It was still not complete yet, but at least this was keeping her mind off other things that were not as important. Rebekah 0 Posted September 15, 2015 Author #22 Share Posted September 15, 2015 Rebekah continued her work on the igloo. Everyone was coming along fine, but the sides were easy. They were not going to topple over unlike the top, which was what she was working on. She had made it big enough around for her whole body to lay comfortable inside. It was hard work for just her, but she knew that the temperature difference between outside and inside is astronomical. The girl had heard how to build one a long time ago, and is putting her strength to work. Besides, darkness was going to fall soon, and she did not want to be left behind without shelter, especially if she believed a blizzard was going to come later tonight. She continued her quick work in the igloo, knowing fully well that she needed to make an entrance and build a fire inside later to keep warm. She was cold, but not quite frozen, as her shield prevented frostbite. It was just a special status effect that she had for special circumstances.
Rebekah 0 Posted September 15, 2015 Author #23 Share Posted September 15, 2015 It was nearly complete, a small igloo that was going to last her the next little while, and something to give her shelter if the next storm ever comes. It was going to be a while before she was leaving, and having it completed made everything a lot easier. She did not have to run back to town if anything happens, since she has what she needs here. Rebekah knew she was missing a campfire, and went right to work building one. The girl had brought all the wood with her, as she was prepared for just about anything. She knew from all her time traveling alone, it was better to overpack than underpack, even if it means her inventory is almost always full. But she rather be safe, than to have someone come out to rescue her if anything ever happened, especially if it could put their lives in danger. There was nothing else that she wanted but to be independent.
Rebekah 0 Posted September 16, 2015 Author #24 Share Posted September 16, 2015 She had finally finished everything, and knew that it was now time for a break. The girl thought about her next steps, but for now, all she was going to do was to stay warm, and hopefully avoid any sorts of conflicts. After all, it was tough work trying to build an igloo all by herself. There was nobody to share the labour with and that made her exhausted, but the warmth inside made it all worth it. For a moment, she had completely forgotten about the cold outside, and focused on the interior of the igloo. Knowing that she had to leave soon, she got a snack to eat before continuing. That was going to help fuel her energy for the next while, as she focused on searching for her familiar once again.
Rebekah 0 Posted September 16, 2015 Author #25 Share Posted September 16, 2015 As she dug herself out of the igloo, she could notice that all the animals that were still outside were still there, meaning that none of them had disappeared while she was gone doing her own thing. This was the type of thing that she liked, she had all the mobs outside to choose from, since she had trouble deciding which one to pick. As the choice was her, she decided to walk around once again before stopping at something that she like. This was similar to how she acted in real life, indecisiveness, since she wanted to make the right and best decision. This was going to be a binding decision for the rest of the game, so it was important she picked the right familiar to be with her for the rest of the floors.
Rebekah 0 Posted September 16, 2015 Author #26 Share Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) Rebekah had walked over to the next group of animals found on the frozen lake, caribou. However, they were too big, even the small ones to be registered. As she looked at them, they were strong and she did not want to annoy them. The last thing she wanted was to pick another fight with them. They will easily give her a run for her money, so she knew that it was best to avoid them. However, one of the smaller ones was walking up to her, so she gave him a quick pat on the back, and it seemed to like that. She looked around but there was no materials are around.ID: 31747LD: 4+3=7 Edited September 16, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 16, 2015 Author #27 Share Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) The blonde thought about what else was here, and the next thing that was in her mind was a white rabbits. Rabbits are everywhere and they are small, so it should be easy to find one. However, that was not the case, as rabbits have to hide from everything on this floor, as they are near the bottom of the food chain here. She knew that it was impossible to find one, but she was going to look nonetheless. As she kept walking, she knew they were around here somewhere, but she could not find them anywhere. They had to be around, Rebekah could see the little footprints, but no rabbits in sight.ID: 31753LD: 6+3=9total: 3 mat, 180 col Edited September 16, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 16, 2015 Author #28 Share Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) As she was searching for the rabbit, the girl had encountered a wolf, who was also presumably looking for the same thing she was, but for different reasons. Yet, this was the time that she did not want to get into a fight with another monster, as she had other things to do on her mind. As she walked back towards her igloo, she wondered why was it so hard to find something that would fit within the requirements, but also most importantly, something that she liked. It was going to take some time before she could answer these questions in her head, but for now, she was striving to move forward. As she looked for the igloo, she could see that the weather was going to get better, as there was no snowstorm on the horizon. She had learned that since she spent considerable amounts of time on this floor, and they were not that rare, but she seen how the clouds were before and after an impending storm.ID: 31766LD: 17+3=20Total: 4 mat, 180 col Edited September 16, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 16, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted September 16, 2015 The thing was that she realized she needed to feed something in order to tame it. Rebekah had nearly completely forgotten about that fact, and scrambled to find somewhere suitable to attempt to feed a familiar. That issue was not when she was doing it, but where, and if the familiar would be interested at all. This was going to take a while to figure out, but as long as the familiar is interested, she had a choice. She knew that her odds were quite low, but it was better than not trying. As there could be many other things that she rather do, but this was what she wanted, a chance to help her out in battle. She searched her inventory for the item, and got ready to attempt to tame one. Now the question was, was there anything to increase her success rate?
Rebekah 0 Posted September 16, 2015 Author #30 Share Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) The moment that she had put out her food, a bird came up to her, but Rebekah did not want a bird. She immediately withdrew the food, and took out her rapier making a stance to fight it. This was not what she was looking for, as the bird had no buffs to support her, it was just one of many found out here in the wild. She wondered if she was ever going to get a chance to do this again. But she knew what the goal was and she was not going stop before she arrived at that situation. She waited for the bird to strike first, as she did not want to deal with this at this moment. The girl was sad that she had failed her first attempt, and now it was going to take a while before she could continue.ID: 31772LD: 15+3=18BirdHP: 36/36; DMG: 4 Edited September 16, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 17, 2015 Author #31 Share Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) That was not quite the thing that she was expecting, but nonetheless, it was time to start her battle. She knew that she had wanted to kill the bird, so swiftness was the key, but also was being accurate. There was nothing harder than missing completely on her first turn. She rushed in quickly but the bird could fly, and easily flew out of the way, making a mockery of her speed. This only made the girl more aggravated and knew that it was now time for her to show her true determination. As her pride had been hurt, now was the time to show that it should be different, and not like this. The bird made a gesture at her, which had ticked her off, maybe she could have tried to tame it, but now was definitely too late to make amends.ID: 31814BD: 1Rebekah 71/71Bird 36/36 Edited September 17, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 17, 2015 Author #32 Share Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) The bird had enough of this weak player attracting its attention, and then subsequently missing on her very first turn. It was happy that it was not tamed by the blonde standing in front of it. After all, players can hardly attack it, as the bird could dodge everything by flying around. It soared up into the sky, and attempted a dive towards the player, with the sharp beak pointing right at her. As it began to accelerate with force, the bird zeroed in on the player, but she moved her shield in a timely fashion to block and nullify the attack. Without a place to strike her, the bird started to pull up on the dive, and rather not slam into the shield and fall onto the snow, which in the process would make it vulnerable.ID: 31818Mob: 7-3=4Rebekah 71/71Bird 36/36 Edited September 17, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 18, 2015 Author #33 Share Posted September 18, 2015 (edited) This gave her a second opportunity to strike, after the first attempt ended up in shambles. It was not the type of thing that she would normally do, fail at combat so readily. She knew to dig deep inside herself and she knew that she had fought harder opponents, so this must be a piece of cake, but it was not. There were too many things to account for, and she knew that it was going to be difficult to do anything unless it can be on the same battling ground. If only the bird could not fly, but she knew that it was a slight handicap for the herself, that she must overcome herself. As the bird was slow to fly back in the air, she lunged forward and struck the body of the bird, resulting in a hit. Now that she landed a clean strike the goal was to continue with landing solid but clean hits.ID: 31992BD: 3+3=6Rebekah 71/71Bird 26/36 Edited September 18, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 19, 2015 Author #34 Share Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) Now that the girl had landed the first attack, it was now the bird's turn to show that it could counter the attack in someway, either through striking her, or scaring her away from combat, but that was going to be hard. It could sense her confidence with just single simple strike move, and knew that it was time to avoid the girl. What could possibly go wrong at this moment for the bird would be disastrous, as it was now far away from the rest of the its flock. It was just all by itself, which made it difficult for the girl to evade her since it cannot pretend there were multiple birds. The bird tried once again to dive at the girl, but the strong arctic wind was preventing it from flying straight enough as it battled the winds.ID: 30215Mob: 6-3=3Rebekah 71/71Bird 26/36 Edited September 19, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 19, 2015 Author #35 Share Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) With the bird struggling in the air, this was a golden opportunity presented to the girl to gain an insurmountable lead in this battle. She knew that she had to be relentless, especially when given a huge advantage. The bird was staying in the same place, no matter how hard it tried to move against the winds. With it being virtually still, this gave her a chance to strike it for a critical, as it would be good practice on a non moving target. The bird managed to see her coming, and avoided the critical damage, but Rebekah was ready for that and made sure to strike the center of the bird, so that she had the highest chance at landing the strike, which she had no trouble doing.ID: 32017BD: 6Rebekah 71/71Bird 16/36 Edited September 19, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 19, 2015 Author #36 Share Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) It was in deep trouble. The bird knew that staying still was the worst option there was, and the winds have died down a tad bit since which allowed her to fly again, but not as effective as usual. The climate can change without warning here in the polar ice, and it did not know whether the wind was going to pick up later again or calm down. Regardless, it cannot afford to wait a lot longer, as it could possibly be dead by then. Taking everything into consideration, it tried its best to fly at the girl once again. While it managed to land on the ground and avoid being pushed around by the wind, the bird was unable to strike the girl at all.ID: 32067Mob: 4-3=1Rebekah 71/71Bird 16/36 Edited September 19, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 20, 2015 Author #37 Share Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) As she saw the bird struggle and eventually land on the ground to stop flying, this gave her an extreme advantage. It no longer had the ability to fly away once on the ground, and would be a lot easier to hit. She was happy to see a change as this allowed her to finish the battle a lot faster. Besides, anything that would contribute to that ending would be a lot better, since she wanted to move on and find a familiar, and rather not be tied down fighting monsters along the way. This was what her goal was all along, to finish fighting the bird so that it does not bother her later on. Just like that another strike, another clean hit, that was her plan, to be as accurate as possible.ID: 32135BD: 7Rebekah 71/71Bird 6/36 Edited September 20, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 20, 2015 Author #38 Share Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) The bird knew that it was now in danger, one more hit and it was dead. It wanted to run away, but it cannot. It had to finish this battle, but it was nearly impossible for it to win anymore, the girl was just too strong, and its attack just does not do nearly as enough damage. Furthermore, the weather around the cold fourth floor was not helping it at all to win, but rather it was adding insult to injury. There was no weakness to the girl at the moment, as it cannot see an expose part of her that would be an easy place to strike, and she was not wearing any armour on top of that. It tried again but the bird was easily blocked by the shield of hers, it was small but she moved it fast enough to prevent all types of attack.ID: 32137Mob: 2Rebekah 71/71Bird 6/36 Edited September 20, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 21, 2015 Author #39 Share Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Now that the momentum was in her favour, she knew that one hit was going to do it, and that was what she was going to be aiming for. Nothing else, but she is just looking for that first move to finish what she had started a long time ago. As she turned and faced the bird, she knew that all it takes was one wrong step and this battle could be extended. The ice was slippery but that also helped her gain speed without as much friction on the surface. The girl slipped and was now starting to feel the pressure of messing up an easy battle by making it a lot harder than it seems.ID: 32161BD: 1Rebekah 71/71Bird 6/36 Edited September 21, 2015 by Rebekah
Rebekah 0 Posted September 21, 2015 Author #40 Share Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) That was not suppose to happen, the girl knew that it was a minor set back in this battle, but she had to ready herself for the oncoming attack from the bird. The bird still had an opportunity to fight a little bit longer, but it was still the same story, one hit was all it was going to take. The girl knew that it was going to take that for the fight to be over. Besides, there was nothing else it could do, other than the fact the bird was still grounded, as it was impossible for the bird to fly off on its own. What more could it do, not a whole lot was left. The bird had failed once again, and wondered why was it attracted to the food in the first place.ID: 32166Mob: 2Rebekah 71/71Bird 6/36 Edited September 21, 2015 by Rebekah
