  1. As he began to draw his sword from its sheath, he heard a voice from behind the guards.

"STOP! He's with me! He's with me!" The guards all turned their heads towards the voice and made a path. Walking towards Ourian was an elven woman wearing a pair of thick leather gloves and matching apron along with a pair of overalls and a heavy long-sleeved jacket. At her waist was a hammer.

"Madam, this man is wanted for-" The head guard started, but was immediately cut off by the woman.

"He didn't know, damn it! Now let us through!" She said, grabbing Ourian by the arm and leading him away from the guards. A couple minutes later, Ourian recognized her clothing to be similar to his father's welding gear. Shortly after, they walked into a shop called "Elven Steel" where she had him sit down while she got him some herbal tea.

    "Thank you."

"No problem... damn this town and their superstitions..." She said, a look of anger on her face.

  2. "Teleport! Delilah Village!" Ourian commanded the teleporter as he stepped onto the teleport point. Once again, he felt like he was being picked apart on a subatomic level as he was transferred from one teleport point to the other. Once the teleport procedure was complete, Ourian felt the usual sensation of feeling light headed and nausea. Shaking it off, Ourian began his search for a blacksmith.

As he walked through town, he couldn't help but notice that the NPCs were giving him a rather menacing stare. IT was as if they didn't want him around. After about ten minutes, he finds a forge called "Sylvan Warcraft" and walks inside to see a variety of weapons and armor lining the walls. As he approached the counter, the elf that ran the shop slowly turns around.

"Welcome to Sylvan Warcraft! How may I help you to-" The elf began, but stopped short when he turned to face Ourian. "You! Get out! NOW! OUT!!! I will do no business with you!" The elf said, pushing him out of the shop.

"The hell was that all about?!" Ourian thought aloud, walking away while still receiving menacing glares. the next three shops yielded the same results. For some reason, they wanted nothing to do with him at all. As he sat on a bench to take a quick break, he was surrounded by the NPC guards, each of them pointing their lances at him. Slowly, he rose to his feet and reached for his sword. He knew that fighting them wouldn't be wise, however he would if he must.

  3. Deciding that it was about time to learn a craft, Ourian sets out for the third floor. He was stuck between three professions: Tailoring, Forging, and Alchemy. Tailoring would satisfy his artistic side, however tailoring wouldn't benefit him at all at the moment. Alchemy had always caught his interest. The thought of creating magical potions that heal wounds and enchant equipment was especially helpful, however it was a very precise art and he didn't have the patience for it. Forging was the closest thing to welding as anything, which is what his father did for a living. He always enjoyed watching his father weld in the shop back when he was just a kid. The only thing was that forging was hard and tasking work. It required a lot of stamina.

Eventually, he decided to go ahead and become a Blacksmith. Though he didn't have the stamina, he had the heart and determination. From what he has learned, the elven NPCs were known for their forging skills and decided that if anyone would be able to teach him, the elves could.

  4. As he got to the mouth of the cave, Ourian realized that something didn't feel right... like something was missing. Finally, he reached for his neck to find that his necklace was missing.

"Damn it! Must've fell off in the fight..." He swore, returning to the cave to retrieve the necklace. As he returned to the battlefield, he noticed that everyone else was searching for something as well. Ignoring them for the time being, Ourian continues to search for his necklace. Finally, he finds it at the edge of the cliff. As he goes to grab it, he hears Crusher shout something about a chest. Picking up the necklace and putting it on, he walks over to where everyone was gathered.

"Guess it's a good thing that I almost lost my necklace... Almost missed out on the chance to get some decent loot." Ourian smiled, crossing his arms and waiting for Crusher to open it. As he did, everyone received 50 Col and 2 more materials. As he collected his loot, Ourian decided to wait and stick around. Hmm... maybe I should stick around after all... Might find some interesting stuff... Better than being bored at home...

  5. Once again, Ourian studies the plant with pain-staking detail. If it had any kind of secret, he was hell bent on finding out what it was. As he watched the others charge in, he paid close attention to the Ovule. As soon as they were within range, the vines sprung to life. As the vines swung and stabbed, something caught his eye. Only certain vines acted as whips and the others acted like lances. Determining which ones would be which when he attacked again, however, would prove difficult.

"There must be something I'm still missing..." Ourian muttered, examining his target further. Finally he saw it; the leaves on its left shook when the whip-like vines attacked and the the leaves on its right shook when the lance-like vines attacked. Taking this into account, Ourian charged at the enemy.

As he got close, the left leaves shook.

"Whips..." Ourian said to himself as he side-stepped each of the three whip attacks. Now the right ones shook.

"Lances..." Ourian muttered as he stepped back as a set of three vines struck up from the ground before him. Getting in perfect position, he got into a crouching position, his sword arm crossed over his body. His sword began to glow.

"Step Sword!" Ourian shouted, leaping into action and at the Ovule. As he passed alongside it, he slashed at the plant and stopped right behind it with his sword arm extended away from his body. Sheathing his sword, a large gash appeared on its head.

Unsheathing his sword once again, he turned around for the kill, however he saw something that he didn't plan on. ALL of its leaves were now shaking...

Suddenly, the vines grabbed him by the wrists and ankles, immobilizing him. Then, with a shake of its right leaves, three lance-like vines pierced his chest. As he was tossed away, Ourian coughed up blood as he clutched his chest.

"It missed my heart by inches... Damn this thing is nasty!" Ourian coughed, wiping the blood from his mouth with his gauntlet.

  6. As Crozeph ran into battle, Ourian took the time to study how the Ovule attacked. There must be some sort of pattern to its attacks... there has to be... He thought, watching the vines snap into action as Crozeph got closer to it. Seeing Crozeph land a blow on the Ovule inspired him to go rushing in after him to make his own attack, determined to land at least one hit on it before it dies. As he got close to it, the vines snapped back to life once again, lashing out at him every chance they got. Before he got within reach, Ourian uses the momentum of his dash to fall to his knees and slide under the flailing vines. As he got close, another vine popped up from the ground. Thinking quickly, Ourian did a one-footed hop to avoid tripping, causing him to spin. Taking advantage of the spinning motion, Ourian swings his sword to create momentum for a horizontal spinning slash.

Just before the attack could make contact, the Ovule moves its head back and away from the blade, causing Ourian to miss by mere inches.

"Damn it! So close!" Ourian swore as he landed into a crouching position, determined to get another strike on it. as he brought his blade back for a piercing strike, however, a vine comes into view and swings through the air like a whip. Thinking quickly, Ourian backsteps to avoid the attack.

  7. (Sorry, had to pull two doubles in a row the past few days :P)

"Well damn it if this thing isn't a pain in the ass!" Ourian swore as he watched the plant find a way almost every time to interrupt their attacks and even counter attack. Studying the creatures moves carefully, he watched as Crozeph attempted to avoid the monster's vines. As it uprooted its vine to attack Crozeph, Ourian realized his chance and charged, his sword trailing behind him for a powerful horizontal strike.

As he got close, a vine rose out of the ground slightly and caught Ourian's foot, causing him to trip. Once he stopped tumbling, he got back up only to find a vine pointed at him. Before he could even so much as flick his sword up to block it, the vine stabbed through his shoulder like a spear.

"This thing is starting to piss me off!"

  8. Unsheathing his sword, Ourian decides to lead the charge.

"Well, as a way of apology for earlier, allow me to get its attention first!" Ourian shouted, dashing head on at the target. Leaping into the air, Ourian trains the tip of his longsword at the plant's head attempting a downward stab.

    [battle Dice: 2 - Failure] #4263

At the last second, the plant swung its vines at Ourian, causing him to focus more on defense rather than offense. Swinging his sword, he used the momentum of the blade to move him away from the vines and land safely to the left of the target.

Well, I have the ugly bastard's attention... Give it hell!" Ourian shouts, waiting for his allies to make a move

  9. "True enough, however they do say that it is wise to bring more and not need it rather than bring less and fall short because of it." Ourian replied, resting his hands on the back of his head and following Crusher. "Hell, I didn't even accept the mission. I was just on my way home. If I can help you out then I'd be glad to." As he continued to follow Crusher, he kept his hand on the hilt of his sword, ready to fight any threat. Win, lose or draw, he won't run. Not again.

  10. Ourian looked to the newcomer as he approached. Judging by his demeanor, he didn't seem to pose any threat, however he decided that he will remain cautious until he has a better understanding of him.

"Well, I don't know of any quest. I usually keep to killing mobs to get stronger. However, I will gladly join you and assist you." Ourian offered, extending his hand towards the man. "The name's Ourian."

  11. Now understanding his mistake, Ourian relaxes while still keeping his hand on the longsword at his waist. Though he felt no danger, he was still hard of trusting others.

"My apologies. When I saw your sword pointed at him, I figured it was a fight between him and the rest of you. I was only intending to help him. I will not be a threat as long as you don't train your swords at me, I assure you." Ourian reassured.

"The name's Ourian, by the way. Also, what is this I hear about a quest?"

  12. On his way back from hunting for some materials, Ourian decides to take the scenic route through the woods. He didn't know why, but there was something about these woods that always soothed him, despite the fact that he was trapped inside a death game.

"Man... Today is so nice! I'm glad I decided on this little stroll..." He said to himself, stretching his arms above his head to release some of the tension he had been feeling the last couple of days in his back. Once his spine popped a bit, he sighed in relief and lowered his arms to his side.

Suddenly, he hears a crashing noise followed by the sound of something slicing through the air. Something's close by. Instinctively, he unsheathes his sword and rushes at the source of the noise. As he approaches, he sees a man pointing a sword at another's throat.

Player Killers?!... No their Player Markers are green... Either way... Ourian thought as he rushed in, his sword raised and aimed at the man with the sword. Mid-Attack, however, he notices the man sheathing his sword and quickly stops a couple feet away from the man, sheathing his own sword in the process.

  13. I have to say that I agree with tom... The explanation you gave us is a little hard to understand. Might I consider that you break it down a little more for us? Maybe give a little more detail when explaining the idea?

I can understand where you are going with this and I will admit that I am intrigued by the idea. However, without proper explanation, I cannot reach a decision on whether or not I truly like the idea

  14. Some might say that giving the players the power to create their own MOBs is great and wonderful. I agree completely...

However, there is a major difference in creating a MOB that has decent stats/abilities and a MOB that is made solely for post count and is so easy to kill that there is no point in even making it.

What I suggest is that we either create a MOB Creation thread where everyone can submit their ideas for MOBs or Establish a team of players whose sole purpose is to brainstorm ideas and create new MOBs as each floor opens.

If we choose to have players submit their ideas, a locked forum can be made to place official MOB information in that cannot be altered except by approved players and Game Masters. First, we would have a MOB Creation Forum made where players will submit their ideas and await approval, just like a journal. An example of a created MOB is shown below:

    Name: Tusk Boar

    Classification: Boar

    MOB Ranking: Higher MOB

    Location: Floor 1 open fields

    Health: 6

Appearance Trigger: D8 Dice 8 in an open field (Will not spawn unless at least two Boars are killed in the topic)

    Skills:

    • Damage Mitigation -1 on MOB Dice 9-10 (Player's turn only)

    Loot:

    • LD 1-10: No Loot
    • LD 11-18: 30 Col OR Boar Tusk Earring (Ear Vanity accessory)
    • LD 19-21: 30 Col and +1 Crafting Material OR Boar Hide Gauntlets (Uncommon Light Armor: Damage Mitigation +1 on BD 9-10. MOB turn only)
    • LD 22+: 60 Col + 1 Crafting Material OR Boar Tusk Blade (Rare Dagger: Damage +1 Does not apply to BD 10 or higher, LD +1)

    Familiar Conditions:

    1. Health = 2 or below
    2. MoB Dice: 3, 6, or 9 on MoB's Turn. (The MoB will be required to make a post where it is offering its loyalty to the player.)
    3. Player may then choose to either accept or decline this MoB as a Familiar. (If declined, the battle will continue. Post Action. If accepted, no loot will be obtained and this MoB will be registered as your Familiar.)

Familiar Skill: Boar Charge: Battle Skill - The Tusk Boar rushes at the target, ignoring Defenses thanks to its piercing tusks. (Damage = BD/3 Rounded down. Cooldown: 3 turns. This counts as a Post action)

Please note that the idea of Familiar Recruiting is only a possibility and if you must complete a quest to obtain the privilege of becoming a Beast Tamer, then that would be the only time that the Familiar Conditions section would become available to a player.

Second, An approved player or a Game Master would have to approve the MoB. Once it is approved, then it will be added to the Bestiary.

If this option seems like it would take a while, I would gladly volunteer to put together a Bestiary for the current floors myself and submit it for approval to get things started.

If the latter mentioned idea is selected, if it is acceptable, I would like to be placed in charge of the bestiary thread to ease the workload of the GMs and Support Team.

I believe this will lead to more organized game play and a more balanced Player-ran Role Play.

  15. As the fairy fell to the ground after stabbing Ourian, its legs gave in, causing him to fall to the ground. Ourian, deciding that he had enough of this, took his sword in both hands, the blade pointing down at the fairy at his feet.

    Battle Dice: 6 Success [iD# 2082]

Recognizing defeat, the fairy just sat there as Ourian's blade stabbed it. Almost instantly, the fairy shattered into a million pieces. Not receiving any loot from it, Ourian decided to start walking towards the town and teleports home.

  16. Struggling to its feet, the fairy grabs at its elbow right where Ourian cut its arm off. Determined to get at least one attack off on Ourian, the fairy grabs its broken scimitar and hurls it at Ourian.

    Mob Dice: 8 (+1) = 9 Critical [iD# 2081]

As the weapon came close to Ourian, he brought his sword up to block it, but was caught unaware as the impact made it shatter. Closing his eyes to protect his sight, Ourian felt something stab him in the shoulder. Opening his eyes, he found what appeared to be a kunai knife poking out of his shoulder. Grabbing it, he yanked it out and tossed it aside.

The fairy raised its scimitar in an attempt to protect itself against Ourian's attack, however the force of Ourian's swing was too great to block as the scimitar shattered. Without anything to block the attack, Ourian's blade manages to cut off one of the fairy's arms.

Expecting the attack, Ourian blocked it with his sword. Enraged, the fairy slashed repeatedly at Ourian's sword as if expecting the constant stream of attacks to somehow break it. Running out of steam, the fairy pushes itself back and awaits Ourian's next move.
