Kasumi

Standing with her party strong against the storm, Raina producing a cover from the weather that she takes shelter under with the pair. Though a bit crowded they seem to all four fits underneath it given how slender each of them is, Shiina working hard Kasumi starts to peel her eyes looking along the trough she made. Exiting the cover and beginning to drag her foot in an alternating slide hoping to uncover another box like the previous one. Uncovering an intact crystal under the surface of dust, Kasumi leans down and claims the crystal adding it to her bag, not for her but for Shiina when she finally succeeds this ordeal.

A small act, Kasumi continues to skirt the soil around caking her foot in mud while her clothes stick to her becoming lightly transparent under the rain, being white but not enough to show more than the peach hue of her skin slightly given the density of the material.

The winds seemed to gain a fervor, Starting at first as a trickle of softness that rose to became more and more violent as the clock shifted forward. Kasumi kept her eyes to the field, keeping a vigilant eye as to prevent anything approaching under the cover of the darkened clouds shifting overhead to blot out the sun, then the rain in droplets like a soft caress started to flow in a signal of more to come. "I'm right here with you Shiina, we've got you." Kasumi moves to Simmone's side to strengthen the barrier between the young performer and the natural enemy that started inward on the small collection of girls fighting against it. Eyes to Raina with almost a silent plea bleeding from the amber, hoping to sway the girl to take to the same level of encouragement lest Shiina loses faith and attempt to succumb to her reticence.

Walking through the entry as the NPC duo slide it ajar, the paper screen ending its track with a *clack* as it stops dead with two small pairs of hands on each edge.

"Welcome, welcome to the black odyssey!" The NPC twins squeal in unison before skittering to grab trays to accept the items Kasumi may produce.

"Per our agreed meeting, I am bringing these at the behest of my cousin..."

Rustling from her small satchel Kasumi removes a couple of bundled items, there use not yet determined she found while working with Gaius setting them on the small trays the girls have uncovered and presented to her, including a small purse of coin and the two rings she had crafted for Simmone to process and divvy out as instructed.

Kasumi listens intently to the whispers drawing from Simmone with a wrapping tongue, amber eyes opening a bit as the understanding pours through her eardrums from the notion.

Clever, you are manipulating her to try and keep her moving...

"That's smart..." the speech muffled from Kasumi as a grin takes her face, fired back to Simmone as she passes with a few graceful steps.

Watching Simmone take to Shiina's side and goad her more and more, Shiina's frowning with puffed up cheeks looking as though she'll pelt Simmone with a crystal.

Kasumi chuckles knowing that although Simmone words seemed harsh she means well, like a parent watching over their offspring. The scene is funny as they bicker back and forth giving each other playful shouts as they work the deposit in earnest.

Remaining vigilant and letting them continue to rant, Kasumi surveys the area determining its still secure from a potential threat.

Kasumi watches as Simmone blows up at Shiina, some part of her wants to stop Simmone from yelling at Shiina but she's right Raidou would agree with this. Once, she would have stopped her and shielded Shiina but the gears need to proceed on and that wasn't going to happen if they were spending excessive time doing trivial objectives repeatedly, Shiina needed to step up to the plate and stand on her own two feet if she hoped to follow behind them.

"Shiina, come on...Let's just get this over with and then you will get better and have all the time you want to sing like you want to ok?"

Playing good cop to Simmone's bad, Kasumi looks to Simmone and gives a subtle nod in agreement as she ushers toward Shiina trailing toward another node of recorder crystals as they respawn and reform in the small crevice they seem to be sprouting out of.

Looking to Shiina locked in the soil like a marmot, as she begins to nod off while staring into space.

A quick shake of her head, her orange hair softly swaying with her as she kneels down over Shiina looking into her drowsy face. "Shiina, no we have work to do you can't just sleep here. For one it isn't a safe zone and something could eat you, how am I going to explain that to Raidou that I let you get eaten."

Next to Shiina, in the trough of sand, she shifted with her crawling a slight glimmer in the dust. Kasumi recognized the trim and reached down leaving Shiina prone where she lay and heaved a small box from its grave.

"Uh, Simmone? I've got an Idea, Bring Raina over here! I'd have Shiina do it..." Looking to the turnip planted in the ground taking a doze, "But she's kind of preoccupied at the moment."

Pointing down to the chest and back toward Simmone, "You think it will work? Raina open it."

"Uh, She's doing alright I suppose?" Kasumi shouts out to the distance, hoping her voice was strong enough to reach them given Simmone's was much more robust than hers.

A quick scan around to check if anything other than Simmone picked up her words and started to move on them, the field still clear although the sun was moving further into the sky, as the morning was growing ripe with the sunlight beginning to dry the early morning dew leftover from the previous night.

Kasumi looks down at Shiina: her face with a twisted grin of excitement mixed with frustration, then back to the pair "She's got one so far and uh..." a quick glance back to Shiina "She's pretty determined though."

"How about you guys, is Raina getting any?" Kasumi shouts cupping her hands to her mouth, to amplify her voice, hoping that it is audible from the range.

"Don't tell me not to care, Don't you tell me to turn a blind eye to you of all people, That isn't fair Raidou and you know it!" tears welling in her eyes as her instructor and senpai chastises her for caring about him enough to come in here to give him a hand.

"I am not hiding, I came in here to give you a hand and that is what I am going to do, if you like it or not. You never understood what you are capable of, hiding what you create from the world, including me..."

Moving closer to her cousin, with raised arms for a response, hoping she would accept her and listen to her for once.

"Let me come with you, Raidou just realize what I am trying to tell you. You're so much more capable then you let yourself believe, teach me the way you have before, lead my hands once again I promise I won't let you down."

Leaning down and pulling two plants from underneath her heel and presenting them in each hand toward her sibling.

"I am more capable than you think, just give me a chance and please give yourself one for once."

Kasumi kept tearing into the crystals near Shiina hoping to boost her material counts and make it a bit easier to get her shop up and running. She knew that she couldn't assist either of them in completing the collection requirement but she could make use of the time and keep the pair under watch and safe from possible interference.

"How's it coming Shiina having any hits?" Kasumi just taking a soft turn in the small outcropping in the stone pile glancing down casually and keeping an eye on the emerald green grass surrounding them.

Looks clear...

Her eyes return to the materials and she notices one with a glimmer and pulls it up.

Finding one of worthwhile Shiina was still protesting and pulling up scraps Kasumi sighed and added it to her bag, hoping that the other two would start having better luck. Looking at Shiina as she kept tossing crystal after crystal over her shoulder in a frenzy of destroyed data.

Beating a path out from this failure, Kasumi's feet carrying her further and faster as she was eager to put it behind her. A small box blocks her path, impeding her retreat.

The chest was in decent shape despite the location, littered with small scuffs but mostly flawless dark wood with a solid cast iron trim bolted with rivets. Iconic curvature making the top of the container with a small eyelet gracing the front from where it clam shell's shut.

A quick wave to Gaius, having not encountered such a thing before she gestured to him for a second opinion.

"What should we do, just leave it alone?"

Looking closer over it with a magnified eye, she can't seem to spot any determining hazard like lines or triggers set within its seams.

Kasumi looks to Gaius to see what he has to say, as shes had about enough of today.

Kasumi was done, she had enough of the killing for today and simply had one left in her.

Tearing off the dirt in a flash of pink lines

"Hyut."

Screaming through the air with fleet feet she stops and starts to slide, a dislodging kick from below knocks the target airborne as the trailing light shoots upward creates a quick circle and vanishes with a crash as she drops an Arial heel smashing the creature to the ground with a hefty force and a *pop*

"I'm done here..."

Kasumi remarks as the quest does not complete and will have to wait another day when she is more comfortable with doing it.

Unwrapping the band from her palm and pocketing it once again, she looks to Gaius and softly says with the shadows obscuring her delicate face. "There will be no more blood staining my hands today." as she turns to head back to town.

Kasumi grabbed his and drug herself aloft, back to her heels. Pulling a small orange strand of ribbon out of her pockets she tied it around her hand...

"No more running then, let us end this so I can go home and wash the blood from my hands." Kasumi looked Gaius after completing the knot around her right palm, a subtle nod as she attended to the filth stuck to her rear.

A screech in the distance, an aggressive tear of dislodging soil as a brightly painted version of the hostiles they had erased uproots itself from underneath the ground. Turning toward them with a wide stretched maw, a tongue rolling across the teeth and upon the lips in a twisted fashion with a shriek at them.

A quick shift of her feet, waving her hands around her torso for a moment before they find rest "Fine then, come"

"That was me losing control, letting the wave overtake the shore. Total destruction of lives that could and should have been spared but I'm simply not strong enough to do so! It's not 'good' I'm a monster that slays and consumes in cold blood."

Kasumi's face jumps in Gaius's direction with welling tears being forced from her ducts with an overwhelming feeling of guilt and failure bubbling them out.

"Again I have digressed to the brutish ways of my kin, I have failed the one teacher I hold dearest once again...using my fists for harm instead of protection, self-defense is how it should be!"

A quick snap of her head away as her shoulders climb with her hands embracing her elbows in a crossed set.

"I hate this game, like wolves tearing into lambs. The difference being that the roles reverse at the drop of a hat. Today I'm a wolf, what will I be tomorrow?"

Kasumi took notice of Simmone, dragging herself away from the entry and scanning about more than likely hunting down a spot to pull aught of use from the earth.

"That's not a bad idea Simmone, see if we can't hone down on something for Shiina and our newcomer..." Kasumi paused taking her eyes to her HUD "Raina, can use to complete this quicker."

Kasumi happened upon a small outcropping of strange prisms, two or three in a pile. Pulling one free with a careful *pop* as it loosens itself from the stone it is affixed in and begins to take on sunlight with a powered refractory.

The message clear as day as it scanned in her eyesight from above then faded the same.

Moving back to the entry and calling to Raina and Shiina "I found some, come on!" with a beckoning wave trying to lead them to the section she tore hers from.

Shiina looks annoyed, banging on her menu and yelling.

"Did he not tell you? I have already done this before so unless I manually select to change professions It cannot be shared with me."

Kasumi's explanation falls on deaf ears however, Shiina aimlessly breaking from the pack and heading off on her own.

Accepting the invite provided as the HUD claims increased space with the listing of the party members.

Reading her name in the top left and continues to slow and instill caution in the impatient one "Shiina, do you even know where you're going?"

This careful planning or thought goes completely out the window as Shiina invites someone at random to the party.

"This wasn't the plan..."

It was supposed to be the 3 of them, brute forcing through the quest in a divide and conqueror strike. 

Defeated Kasumi just accepts the events that transpired and just hopes to bring it to a quick close following Party Leader Shiina to Torunka

"Alright, back to doing earning a living..."

Kasumi with a subtle nod while walking and consuming what looks to be a morning meal of sorts.

A billowing creme topped disc of bread topped with a fresh strawberry, a favorite of the young flower.

Cramming the last bit into her gullet, with puffed cheeks and a slightly harsh swallow aiming to choke her Kasumi approaches the crowd of two peeling eyes from around the area to a focal of attention.

Clad in her white gi, Kasumi looks with a soft nod toward Simmone and Shiina before she withdraws two small wraps of fabric littered with small symbols and begins to turn her hand as she tightens them around with consecutive turns until the cord falls short to a solid glove.

"Then we are here then, this was the first step so let's finish this quickly and proceed to the next phase."

Looking attentively at the boy in a red cloak, the face looked correct with similar glasses strapped to his eyes. But Kasumi wasn't certain until he spoke, with that poetic nonsense that would confuse nearly everyone. Finishing up the stone she was working...

Her mind racing back to the events prior, where she used the money she was saving for her mother to help the boy who had treated her so kindly, her cousin who she was staying with in her crisis. Her mother would have to wait, for Kasumi need to...

"Despite my fear, I had to make sure you were ok."

Like a ghost from his past, made real she followed him into the depths of hades in hopes to bring air to his lungs so that he may breathe.

"I knew you would be doing something simple like this, you've always had a way of creating a special something out of nothing."

Walking out of the starting city, into hot sunlight threatening to burn her alive.

"Geez, it is hot." a soft exasperation as she peels her gi from her chest to allow the air to circulate between and get some of the temperatures out.

Sliding her HUD open and marking the tracking of the quest she picked off the board, having earned little in her last attempts to grab aught of use to begin jewel crafting again.

"Nature's Treasure, I wish I saw this before."

Walking softly between rowdy players screaming and hollering while totaling out nearby boars for loot and experience.

Heathens...

The thought irritated her that they could so blindly destroy life, even an artificial one.

Sliding past the groups in disgust to the quests nav that ends in a small circle of a varied collection of objects to use for crafting. At a small pile, a familiar boy is working away without pause.

Moving to a jutting stone to get a closer look without drawing attention she pulls out a small pick and attempts to remove a gemstone from the wall after tying her hair up out of her face.

The nepent propels itself backward as Gaius swings at it while the other two surround her. Tendrils fire off in her direction and she ducks underneath them and feels a fire churning in her belly as it seems her words aren't reaching them. Fists and feet glow pink as the assist system activates and she yells "Stop!"

Kasumi seems to vanish with a few blossom petals before blows appear with trailing lines of pink. An overhead axe kick to one as its HP pool plummets and it bursts, while another moves to her side and she twirls and drops a roundhouse causing it to dislodge from the earth and shatter into small fractals. A pair of tendrils fire off to her and she grabs them "Please... stop this..." the vines retract and drag her into a flying side kick into the creature with a *pop*.

Fueled with a feeling of regret and remorse Kasumi drops to her butt on the cold earth in the forest.

Kasumi sees Gaius trying to get an opening is determined to end the scuffle amicably without the need for violence, Kasumi moves up to keep herself positioned between both Gaius and the collective of the Nepent's behind her. "I won't let you hurt them, we came to their forest. Their home and you killed one of them no wonder they are upset!"

Kasumi spreads her arms as long as they can go "Just back away and leave them be!"

Narrowly avoiding one strike with grace, A tendril from the next in chain wraps around her ankle while airborne and slams her face-first into the dirt. Kasumi coughs a bit of sand from her mouth and looks up to Gaius getting pelted in a similar fashion as a few cords of nature fire off bullets piercing near his shoulder.

"Quit it, just stop or I'll make you!" Kasumi says screaming at the Nepent's after noticing Gaius's HP reduce a good margin.

Struggling to keep up with Gaius as he just starts to tear off in the distance without warning.

Jeez, would it kill him to just wait for a m...

Kasumi's words cut short as Gaius begins to produce green light with a twirling blade, and in the distance, a subtle pop is heard as he makes contact with something. "Wait what are you, don't!" Kasumi screams at him as Gaius cuts down one with a piercing glaive.

A bit furious Kasumi continues the shouting.

"What the hell is the matter with you, why would you do that?"

"Maybe it wasn't going to attack us, and you just murdered it in cold blood!"

Kasumi moves between Gaius and the remaining 3 to create a barrier between them in attempts to end the violence and stop them from killing each other as she doesn't understand the conditions set before her in this game. The plant-like bulb creatures begin to swing at her and she slides underneath each attack before hopping over the last.

A duck underneath with a twirl between one aimed at her feet before she lands and slides. "Quit it, quit fighting I don't want to hurt you!" Kasumi pleads in attempts to quarrel the conflict.
