She takes a look at her rapier that she summons, it felt more lighter than the usual fencing equipment she was used to, so she asked.
"Um will the weapons get a little heavier? This toothpick *point towards her rapier* seems like it would break in any moment if I grip it harder"
Then she tried to make a few stabbing moves with it. Barely satisfied with the results she attached the rapier to her waist.
"On the other hand treasure hunting sounds good, and I want to test the damage on this baby, lead the way"

While waving goodbye to Sousuke she said in her normal cheerful voice:
"okay see you later then Sousuke"
She took Arek's hand while replying "Ariel, Nice to meet you. So what is the first step? I have a general idea of how things go but its better to learn from somebody experienced" she truly meant that. Usually her pride wouldn't allow her to ask for help, but for some reason this time it didn't bother her that much. And she didn't feel awkward talking to somebody unknown, maybe it was because he had a sincere wish to help her.Ariel was always good at judging peoples characters and this guy..somehow she got the impression that he was somehow of a lone wolf.

"Okay see you around Wynter" she said to her while she left. Then her mood changed into a serious one, and she started talking while staring at the ground:
"I kinda figured out that much from the GM's speech, but seeing another player confirm it its a little disturbing. But I won't back down, I want to get stronger, and help clear this game. Its not that I'm daydreaming or anything, I know the risks. I even told father that under no circumstances should he try to detach my Nerve Gear, but I wasn't thinking it will come to this situation. What I'm afraid of the most is not upholding the teachings he bestowed upon me..but look at me babbling about random things. Lets get to the point, can you teach me the basics of this world?" she turned her gaze towards him and asked.

She blinked a few times.Seeing how this guy shook his hands erratically and his sincere face expression, she decided to believe him and accept his offer.
"Screaming...um yeah*she retrieved her hand from the hilt* it was me..I was surprised to see a cosplay cafe here, so i kind of let out my surprise.
I'm sorry for my rash judgement and if i'm not too of a bother I will happily join you guys" taking a better look at him he did seem familiar. And she also started feeling her stomach growl at the word "bite". partially ashamed by her attitude that lacked self-control.

Seeing how a bunch of people gathered around her she didn't knew who to respond to first, so the said in a raised voice.
"Thank you for your concern..and sorry if I appeared to be amused, but something like this is kind of a dream come true to me, you see.."
she then lost her grin while saying
"My name is Ariel, nice to meet you Arrek, Sousuke and..??*she tilted her head while looking at the third person*

All Ariel knew was that one moment she was waiting in line to enter the shop, and in the other someone bumped into her nearly knocking her on the ground. A second later another dude followed him and after muttering some words about girlfriends offered his hand to help her stand.
"Thank you, for your concern um....*she looks above his head and sees the name* Malakath-san." then stands on her own feet, ignoring his obvious flirt. Then she takes a look at the one who bumped into her, and sees that he has his sword unsheathed "A friend of yours I believe...*she directs her gaze towards Sousuke's eyes* So, you wanna duel me, I maybe new to this but I still have my pride as a swordsman and won't let this challenge go unresponded?" she says that while putting her right hand on the hilt of her rapier. She didn't heard the guy's invitation, she was focussed on the one who bumped her.

Ariel was wandering around aimlessly. Looking left and right, not believing what she saw. This...game.... was so filled of life, it seem like the real world..well... except that almost everybody wore armor and carried weapons...so a medieval real world would be the appropriate term, but the shops here look so modern. She suddenly sees a maid cafe.
"Really???they even have this kind of thing here????" she let out a shout, then covered her mouth with both hands. And curious walked towards the establishment. With that shout that could be heard outside and inside the local stores, she attracted some unwanted attention, and even laughs of some people that were around her. With her cheeks going red, she was at the entrance of the cafe.

After the GM's announcement everybody was panicking and started running around in random directions. Ariel stood in the place where the announcement took place a moment ago and thought about the things she just heared.
"So...basically I'm stuck here until we reach the 100th floor right?"then a small grin appears."Well all I can say is BRING IT ON!!!!!!! you think you trapped me?? I who has trained in the art of fencing from the time I could wield a practise sword???"she tried to suppress a laugh but failed, she would look as someone who lost his minds upon hearing the terrible news. When in fact it was the opposite, she wasn't terrified about being trapped here, she was in fact glad that from any other type of game she could possibly be trapped in, this was a game that relied completely upon swordplay. Not some random game that involved magic or firearms. She started talking to herself in a low voice while walking in a random direction.
"So what can I do next..start grinding?"

Short Bio: Kayla is the single daughter of Eugeo and Eveline D'Sole, her mother is Japanese and her father originally from Italy, but he lived in Japan most of his life. He came to Japan when he was young during a fencing tournament, upon seeing the beauty of the Japanese swordsmanship, he decided to move there and adopt the local style. He meet his wife during such a tournament and they fell in love at the first sight.
Shortly after Kayla was born, when she was able to wield a wooden sword, her father started training her the basics of swordsmanship, after a few years of basic training Kayla was faced with a choice, train in the art of fencing or Kenjutsu, she enjoyed both but had a natural affinity towards fencing, so she decided to follow in her father's steps.
With time she started attending tournaments. At the first one she ranked very low, but after some time and even harder training she started winning a few and ranked higher in others. In time she started making a living out of it.
She loved to play video games that involved swordplay in her spare time between training sessions. The VR MMORPG "Sword Art Online" was on her 'MUST PLAY AT LAUNCH' list.» Personality: Kayla Ariel D'Sole, her name can be interpreted as "Crowned Lion by the Sun Godâ€, because of that and the fact that she has a ferocious fighting style, she would earn the nickname "Crowned Lion".
She is very proud of her sword skill (in-game and in real life), a little shy, likes to train, to read, and enjoys walking around aimlessly, she doesn't come from a rich family, but a modest one, she could be quite a straightforward person, often angering people as a result.
Because of her training she had minimum human contact, and that sometimes bothered her, but not too much. She was used to chatting in-game with others, but it would prove more difficult to do that in VR than the classical type-in chat.
When she heard about a VRMMO named "Sword Art Online", she wanted to see if her real-life sword skills would reflect in the game, but she found out, after a few hours of gameplay, that she couldn't log out of the game, and must clear the game to return to real life.
Now she tries to emulate her real-life sword style into the game, which is easier said than done, but she has found sword skills in the system, belonging to the rapier weapon, that resembled her real-life training to some degree.
Now she aspires to become a "Clearer", to this purpose she wants to be spent almost all her time fighting, aiming to reach the "Front Lines", the last floors available and help clear the game.» Virtues:
SpoilerCalmness - Due to her somehow Spartan-like training she develop this trait. So she does not panic in apparently overwhelming/impossible situations. But tries to find a way out, calmly analyzing her surroundings. She usually engages in combat against other players as a last option.
Sincerity - This is the most characteristic virtue of hers, not showing restraint, Ariel will always state her thought when asked. With no remorse, she will offer her thoughts about any subject she is asked, sometimes randomly intervening on other peoples discussions. This trait of hers is doubled as a flaw because she has a difficult time restraining herself.
'Warrior's Spirit' - Because of her lifestyle, Ariel had learned from her father "The Bushido Code" from a young age, While she still lacks in the areas of "Benevolence, Modesty, Mercy and Self-Control", she has a native affinity towards "Courage, Sincerity and Honor". As a result her fighting style is quite ferocious, aiming for the most damage while having the minimum protection. She is not afraid to take risks.
Loyal - While she lacks in other departments Ariel will always abide by her honor code that she developed since infancy. Maybe as a result of maybe the stories told by her father about ancient Japanese and European heroes, she tries to emulate their standards and their set of values.
» Flaws:
SpoilerOverconfident - Due to her lifestyle and winning in the fencing tournament she became excessively confident in her skills. She doesn't respond well to critics, and will not argue much over a subject she has firsthand experience with, assuming she is right from the beginning.
Over placement - She is often judging her performance compared to another. Believing that her training makes her superior to most of the players, this combined with her sincerity prove to be a serious flaw of her character, one that she tries to cover with dismissing such statements as a bad joke.
Sincerity - She expresses her sincere opinion without restrain or giving thought of the consequences. Often angering people who don't know her, mistaking her sincerity with rudeness. So making friends that really know her has been a problem for her, even in real life.
Impulsive - as a result of her training she developed reflexes that kick in before she could get a better understanding of what's happening. This also applies in case of extreme intensity of emotions or convictions. She is inclined to react violently when people laugh over her or her swordsmanship. Insulting her training equals insulting her father and that could push her into a blind rage.
Ailurophobia - is a type of specific phobia: the persistent, irrational fear of cats. She does not know from where this has started but she hates felines and she tries to avoid them in any circumstances. In the extreme case that she has no other choice but to fight one(in-game) that fear would transform into hatred and she would attack it without restraint, Lions being the only exception to the rule...and maybe tigers.

Story so Far:
Spoiler»11:30 AM. The morning training is almost finished, but today her father finds her a little distracted.
When he gets the opportunity he uses the fence training sword to tap her head while saying:
"Okay training is finished for now, I see you mind is in another place, go play that stupid video game already,
and at the evening training I hope to see you more focused, got it?"
Kayla takes of her mask and shows a broad smile while saying:"Okay father!" and dashes towards the changing room.
12:50 AM. After taking a shower Kayla changes in her house clothes and gazes at the NerveGear helmet, then looks at the clock, ten more minutes and the servers for the popular VRMMO game "Sword Art Online" will go online,
she had purchased the game a few days earlier. Then she lays on the bed in a comfortable position,
and says in a soft voice: "Link Start".
She feels her body go numb for a second an could only see the screen lighting up, the NerveGear starts checking its systems gradually showing 4 OK circles that quickly fade. Next she chooses the language, and logs in with her account name <<Ariel - The Crowned Lion>>
"What a cheesy name" she told herself while the game was loading.
After a "Welcome to Sword Art Online" message appears. On the bottom left of her vision, the time showed
12:55, 5 more minutes until the servers go online, she decides to check her avatar again.
She chooses a simple avatar that looked like her,blond hair,athletic figure with a sleeveless top and skirt.

Kayla sees that the server name starts to show, she selects it and suddenly her vision changes as her avatar materializes in the Starting City located at the First Floor of 100 Floors stacking straight upwards, a huge castle made of stone and steel floating in an endless sky. The name of the castle was <Aincrad>.

"I'm glad you ask" said Kayla in a proud voice and continued:
"My father used to participate in fencing championships, and long story short...He decided to teach swordsmanship when I was able to hold a training sword, and since then I would practice and in time be able to participate in championships myself. That is why I choose this weapon, although It feels a bit different from the ones I use IRL.." She draws her rapier and examines it for a second then continuing.
"But this lightness of the rapier..I could get used to it, I just have to start training it again right?
