Hidden

Set on rainbow-sprinkled cupcakes, Shiina insisted on moving to Coral to find them. 'How long does she think can hide what she's really doing? We caught her red-handed, why is she lying about it now?' Hidden followed suit until Shiina turned around, eyes narrowed. 

"You ain't going to get any cupcakes first, I'ma eat them all to MYSELF."

Hidden's face scrunched in confusion. "What? I don't want your stupid cu-" Shiina bolted away suddenly. She was surprisingly fast too. Unluckily for her, she was unaware that nearly every move of hers was being tracked at this point. Umbra had slipped into the girl's shadow, only leaving a trace of itself behind. As long as they were on the same floor, she'd know at least which direction Shiina has going. 

Making pursuit, the wind pushed past her as she darted after the girl. As she reached the man with falling down pants who was yelling after the girl, she'd knock into him. A surprised cry would be heard from his downed position as she passed by. She wasn't interested in helping random strangers. She had her own girl-sized issues to deal with. The question was, why was Shiina causing this much mayhem? Surely she knew after following her around long enough that she wouldn't stop to help some random people?

The blue haired girl, Moro, would come to retrieve the armor before the arrival of Simmone's voice would interrupt her action. Hidden's face furrowed with suspicion. Why would the woman give her something for free? She was the kind of person where everything had a value that needed to be met. What was the debt she unmeaningfully accrued in this single moment? What did Simmone want from her? She was content reading Hidden's life like a sour story. It seemed the woman originally followed her out to protect the answers she had given her earlier. 

The mention of the black pond made her easy. Did she know about that place? Or was it a lucky choice in words? The very memory of that pond frightened her. The cold sensation of drowning, suffocating in your own safe space. In your own mind. In your own emotions....

"Your arm not long enough to reach me? Have I sank that low? No, you're just an observer. A bystander. You want to watch me drown... or pull myself free. You're just here to see how the story ends." Hidden quickly made her exit to the building after parting with these words. 

"Who book boi?"

'Wait what?' 

"Nope, probably doesn't even know where I am."

Hidden released her grip, only after the girl attempted to make it do some weird things. She wasn't spying on her for Raidou? She was ambling around and just happened to stumble onto Hidden? The chances of that were low, and Hidden wasn't sure if this girl was a master liar or completely serious. Looking over the girl again, she still couldn't decide on where the girl stood. The girl suddenly mentioned that she was going to get something to eat and that Hidden could hang out with the 'ass clowns.' Shiina turned away, and the gate to the coliseum began to rise to make way for the girl's sudden exit. 

'Can't trust her enough, she might just be trying to get away so she can continue to follow us.' 

Nodding, Hidden quietly muttered, "Umbra". A shadow crossed the ground between Shiina and Hidden, resting in Shiina's shadow where it would become entirely undetectable. 'I'll just see what she tries to do after we leave the coliseum.' 

"MAYBE SOMETHING WITH RAINBOW SPRINKLES!"

The words echoed through the area. "No way you'd find something like that around here." Hidden stated quietly, unamused eyes meeting Shiina's form. 

Her eyes finally began to examine the girl. Her face filled with even more confusion as the girl's eyes dimmed along with her hair color fading from gold back to black. Who was this player? She hadn't seen her anywhere before. The girl was calm, holding her hands tightly to her flat chest. Her face seemed young, even that of a child's. It was honestly annoying because of that fact that the girl was a bit taller than her. How was it fair that she was shorter than a child?

Abruptly, the girl's eyes opened and the demeanor returned to normal. In a chaotic fashion, the girl stumbled over to her causing every muscle in Hidden's body to tighten. Taking a step back, as the girl loudly pronounced her name. Shiina. It wasn't one she had heard of before. Shiina shoved her pointer hand in front of Hidden with a enthusiastic, "High five!"

Flinching at the sudden motion of the girl's hands towards her own face, Hidden would regain her composure shortly after. Slowly touching her hand to the other girl's she would tell her, "I'm Hidden... Don't get used to high fives. You earned it this time I suppose." 

A slightly warm smile rested on Hidden's face. It changed immediately as her eyes trailed to the girl's health bar. The symbol of Firm Anima nearly flared at the end of the gauge. Suddenly, Hidden's hand moved from touching to firmly grasping the girl's hand. A shudder from Hidden's body as fear or something else suddenly took hold of her and caused her to tense up. 

'Firm Anima? Look even after you told him off, he sends another one of his members to trail you. How long has this one been doing it? She just happened to join the battle when you were starting to have problems back there. Her kindness must be fake, a ploy to trap you into trusting her so that she may follow you around and report it back to red boy wonder. Better to just take care of this here, he won't send more if you off one.' 

Darkened eyes stared at Shiina's as anger seeped into Hidden. "Did Raidou send you?" she asked in a low tone. "Are you following me?" The dagger in Hidden's free hand began to spew a dark miasma as it prepared to destroy the girl in front of her. 

'Another child too? He really has no respect for you, now does he?'

Underestimate Raidou? She had to be kidding. Even if he was putting up a tough act, he was like her. He was still that boy getting pushed into the snow. He let others use him, let her use him. As Simmone went into the topic of Hidden's popularity, a cold stare would be shot at her. "I had no interest in being center stage. I was put there." However, this was a play and she was the antagonist of the story. At least, that is what part they told her to act. 

 "If you need any more answers or have any more questions, you know where to find me."

A low, short chuckle. "You called those answers? Those were just more questions." Hidden pushed through the wooden door, moving back into the Appraiser's main store. As she did, the blue-haired NPC walked straight into her, fumbling back and dropping the item in her hands at Hidden's feet.

"Watch where the hell you're going kid!" Picking up the item, she examined it for a short moment. This piece of light armor was cool to the touch, the cold found to be refreshing even. "Here take it back. It's yours right?" Hidden exclaimed impatiently, holding out the armor for the girl to grab. 

 "Final Act: Phantasmal Chorus: Cry of the Ancients."

All hell seemed to break loose as a final color added to the floor, the rings of colors turned and shifted until they locked into place, the gleam of the floor fatiguing their opponent entirely. Piasuhon's legs gave out as it was unable to hold its own weight any longer. Taking advantage of its moment of weakness, Hidden darted forward for the execution. A dark miasma seeped from her blade as she activated her strongest sword art once more. As she approached, the Rhino made its best attempt to get up and escape. It managed to sit up, beginning to lurch forward away from its two predators. 

A singular dark stroke cut through the air, a slash that eclipsed everything in its path. As the attack finished, the Rhino had successfully been cleanly cleaved into two pieces that would further break into pixels. Hidden's fierce glare subsided as she turned her attention towards the girl that had randomly appeared and helped her.

"Who... just who are you?"

Hidden watched as the large man put to work at the job she had for him.For some strange reason, he was walking her through the process as if she were learning from him. She remained silent throughout her confusion, though her eyes widened as him hammer shattered Nihilim's Wrath in a single smite. Was he going to do that to Kura yu Yami as well? Surely not. She'd have to kill him if if he destroyed her weapons. 

However, a dark miasma seemed to seep from the now broken weapon, filling her typical weapon. With a bit more work, he produced her weapon. Accepting it, she would offer up her thanks before leaving.

Her comrade continued her music, the lighting that embossed the ground pulsating as it seemed to become brighter in accordance to the amount of verses the girl was running through. In fact, a light seemed to be shining intensely in the girl's eyes. Was she going to explode? 

Ignoring the girl for a bit longer, Hidden turned to face the Rhino. Activating <<Vanish>> she faded from view, reappearing right next to the creature. With a single stroke, a burst of white light carved through the beast, tearing through nearly all of its lifepoints. The force of the blow was even enough to tip it over, where it laid as it was entirely drained of energy. This victory was theirs. All that was needed was the finishing blow. Her dagger's light dimmed as its red-hot light faded. She actually managed to win this fight, even if she had required someone elses help. She would need to find out exactly who this girl was.

Purchasing Demonic Shard from @Freyd for 70,000 Col. 

The massive heat of Floor Nine was... not pleasing in the slightest. Her dark attire seemed to soak in the heat, and approaching the blacksmith's forge wasn't any better. Entering this forge, her eyes caught sight of a monster of a man, one that towered over her. It honestly, was terrifying to see. However, her Pride mustered up the courage to continue. Size didn't matter and she often used her own to her own advantage. 

Presenting two dagger's she craned her head up towards the man. "I need these two weapons merged" She laid down the weapons and took a step back as to not her her neck looking up at him. The forge wasn't the nicest place to be, but she needed the items.

Hidden reentered a shop that she had visited some time ago. With her change in armors her current flower held a slot that was no longer useful to her. It was time for a change so that she could remain just as powerful as she had been beforehand. Her cloak didn't cover her face this time, though that might have been a downside. Suspicious looks eyed the shopkeep as she entered. She was only familiar with Firm Anima shops, but she was unaware if they were supposed to report her activity back to him like Setsuna had to. 

"Can I get these made? Thanks."

The words seemed random, but the random girl now appeared to be guiding her through the fight, like a conductor stringing its instruments together to make a chorus. Darting forward, she would take the new burst of energy she received and strike the woozy opponent. Her dagger struck as the girl hit her high note, bringing the rhino's health down even further. It wouldn't last too much longer and thanks to the help of the random individual that joined her, she was nearly topped off in every way. 

It was honestly weird, she hadn't seen anyone with the girl's skills before. Were they new to system? After the update, had supporters seen a significant buff to actually be able to be useful? Of course, it was Hidden that was dealing all of the damage, but the additional fighter turned the tide of the battle in nearly an instant.

As the song's speed shifted, the color did once more, instead now becoming a green gold. The odd newcomer through a peace sign into the air with her fist before pointing it at Hidden. The white-haired girl was confused to see a new buff she hadn't seen before. Her energy bar was now pulsating, refilling at a higher rate. 'Surprised she noticed that, I didn't. For the longest time, Dagger was cheap enough to ignore energy entirely. I guess the cost increased with the buff.' 

Hidden stood at the ready, preparing to pounce on her target. Instead, she found herself giggling. 'beefy boi' She had said. It would be a few seconds before she could even attempt to regather her composure. Just where had this girl come out of? Piasuhon seemed pretty out of it at this point, wobbling on its legs and unable to make an attack. The girl's song had affected it rather harshly it seemed. 

Still hardly giving the girl a detailed look, she quietly offered up her thanks. "t-thanks for the help. I guess you made it a bit easier than it would've been."

The girl was just strange overall. Appearing out of nowhere, singing her way into the battlefield. In a moments notice, it was if the entire battle had changed directions. The rhino now seemed as if it was drunk, unable to move properly while her own health had risen back into safer levels. With a change of song, the red light that etched the floor became deeper until it reached a dark violet. She supposed it wasn't a problem have the girl be a part of the battle if she wasn't getting in the way. 

Taking advantage of the Rhino's uneasiness, Hidden charged forward, darting to the side of the beast before unleashed her stored charged attack on the enemy. The black slash rippled the air, creating another gash in the creature's side. 

"It sure is taking a hit..." Her eyes turned towards the girl. Everything about her was different, including her speech pattern. She wasn't sure she had sure someone say 'lit' without it entirely being a joke making fun of the word itself.

Beaten but not broken, Hidden stood prepared to continue the fight. She would draw the last blow before her opponent could. She honestly probably was getting hit due to fatigue or something. She had spent quite a bit of time fighting already today. 

"Hi there."

Hidden practically jumped inside her own skin, surprised at the random arrival of a... little girl? Taking a deep breath to calm her jumped nerves, she looked to the girl who stood there waving. The girl was wearing armor, but it was somehow crooked and she was almost certain she could see a random strap dangling. 

"This isn't a place for you to play go on-" 

The little girl's words interrupted her as if Hidden wasn't even speaking. "Hmm... Right, you can probably use a hand or something." Hidden shook her head. "No! Get out of here before-!" The ground thudded as the beast began to pound towards them. 

 "Battlefield Overture: Dramatic Encore!" The girl's voice rang out as if she were demanding attention. What was this? Not only did she have to somehow manage to pull a victory off after already losing half of her health, she had to protect this little girl too? This was just an impossible mode.

A wave of red light sudden embossed the ground as the girl's voice called out. The voice was not what she imagined would come out at all. Stunned for a moment, it was a good thing the girl's song reduced the speed of the oncoming danger. Her dagger felt warmer for some reason, and now gleamed with a brighter hue. Activating <<Shadow Stitch>>, her blade would sink into the creature's side with more ease than earlier. 

"Who is this little girl?"

The rhino was unwilling to relent from its attacks, even after landing the first solid blow. Uso-Tsuki's men could be seen watching from the stands, no doubt trying to dispose of her with the great beast. Piasuhon was strong, much stronger than it had been the first time. Or maybe that was only because her level was less than half of what it had been. 

Piasuhon kept up the pressure, coming at her ramming speed. The problem was that despite its size, its speed was extremely high. It was a horned freight train. Hidden attempted to leap upwards to escape its attack, but thanks to its size she couldn't escape its reach. Taking a direct hit, her body would be thrown into the air. Trying to remain in control of the situation, Hidden once again activated her trump card, activating Vanish simultaneously with her strongest sword art. Her form vanished from the air, before it would appear back on the ground on the opposite side of the beast. A flash of black slashed through the beast's iron hide. 

Much to her surprise, the beast didn't succumb like the man had. Her attack lacked the strength that one had. Perhaps because she used it in more of a defensive than an offensive manner? Wiping a drop of sweat from her forehead, she prepared to do her worst. Fighting this beast had not been predicted.

The men that carried her, spoke in hushed voices. The only thing that she could make out was that they were originally underlings for Uso-Tsuki. No doubt she had ruined that for them. After a bit of time passed, she was forcefully thrown onto the ground. She had been curious as to where they would have brought her. Luckily for her, she knew exactly where she was. She was in the arena. She had been here before with Ayame, Raidou, and the useless one. Picking herself up, she felt the hammering of steps behind her, and she turned just in time to take a full on hit from the rhino. Before it managed to throw her into the air, she managed to thrust her dagger into its face. 

Landing with a thud on the ground, she picked herself, wary of the hit she had taken. She wasn't built for taking hits, a few more of those and she would die. If given enough time, she could heal back the damage she had taken from the beast.

It wouldn't be long before they pulled back into the city, and instead of heading towards the Chief's lodge they instead head for a exterior meeting spot. Somehow, they were already several NPC's gathered at this meeting. The Chief would invite her onto the stand, which she reluctantly accepted, remaining behind the chief to keep herself from being the center of attention. Which was hard because the Chief was openly thanking her and giving her honorary titles that she didn't care for. 

After about five minutes of torture, the meeting disbanded and the chief was escorted away. Attempting to make her leave, she was interrupted by a stab to the side. She retaliated, slamming her fist into the man's head but the force was weakened as her mobility was drained from her. Paralysis. They picked her up in her downed state, and began carrying her off. Where were they taking her?

Hidden closed her eyes, the rumbling sound of the chief's caravan slowly coming closer. Dust filled the air around her as it halted to a stop. Stepping out, the Chief would greet her. "You did it. You defeated Uso-Tsuki and his men. In doing so, you managed to save my life and for that I am grateful. Come, I shall personally return you the city and have you rewarded for your great deeds. In fact, I'll even put in a good word for you so that despite your previous wrongdoings, the guards will treat you no differently than any other within city limits."

That at least sounded convenient. Hidden wasn't sure what business she would have on the twenty-fourth floor. Though, if there were a city that the NPC's would not give her trouble for, than she supposed she could come and relax occasionally. Nothing like a good rest away from having to fight constantly.

Uso-Tsuki picked himself up from the ground, his face uncomprehending of what just transpired. Thanks to his 'special ability' that he was so proud of, he had to watch slowly in fear as his body failed to keep up with the speed of the combat he was actually facing. "What was that? How did you..." Hidden smirked, a dark smile that would sure be enough to haunt her enemy. 

"You just aren't fighting at the same level as me. Your eyes might be able to see my attacks, but if you can't react then you are still limited to your own speed. You surprised me originally, but after that the battle was decided."

Activating her strongest sword art, a black aura would engulf her blade and body alike. Darting forward and activating <<Vanish>> simultaneously she suddenly appeared behind her opponent. A single stroke of her blade sent of paper thin black slice through the air. This single stroke would be enough to entirely decapitate Uso-Tsuki. Catching his head midair, she would speak before his head managed to pixelate. 

"This is a Grim Reminder that nobody ever gets their way." 

Uso-Tsuki pixelated as his guards did, leaving her standing alone in the field.

Uso-Tsuki grinned, seemingly proud of himself. "What's that now? Didn't expect that huh? My eyes have the ability to perceive the world at half the speed, making it pretty easy to dodge any attacks coming my way. Should have just stayed out of the way." 

Hidden's eyes squinted, unamused at her opponent. He had managed to get off with a cheap trick, but once you know the trick it would be rather easy to ignore it. He just used up every card that he had, revealing his entire hand. She still had every card up her sleeve. Uso-Tsuki made another attack, the same as before. No doubt his idea was that he could just deflect all of her attacks and eventually pull a lucky attack. 

"Even if you can see it coming doesn't mean you can stop it." A burst of white light sent the man flying into the dirt several meters away.

Uso-Tsuki glared at her response, not taking too kindly to her gesture. "Well, I tried to give you an out. Remember that when you're begging for mercy." Her enemy moved forward, swiping at her with his own blade. It was strange fighting another dagger wielder, typically she had the shortest range and was trying to get in close and pressure the opponent. Luckily for her, she was far faster than her assailant, able to dodge with relative ease. Now, with Uso-Tsuki in her range, she made her own attack, the blade driving straight for his neck. 

Uso-Tsuki's eyes flashed blue the direction of his blade shifting and parrying her's away from his body. Pushing off the ground, she would land several meters away from him. She remained silent, but her eyes told of her confusion. How had he managed to use two different arts in a single attack? Not even player's could pull that off.

It wouldn't be long before her riding caught her up with the caravan, allowing her to place herself in between the caravan and Uso-Tsuki. Uso-Tsuki's horse came to a stop before her, the man dismounting the beast. Following his lead, Hidden would remain silent as she quietly prepared for their fight. This was the final boss of an entire questline. He was sure to be difficult. What tricks could he possibly have up his sleeve. 

Uso-Tsuki stepped forward, arms raised in the air submissively. "Hey kid, i'm not sure what the chief promised yah for this, but if you would kindly step aside I can reward you a whole lot better than he can. When I become chief, I can make sure all you want is yours. Money... Power... not something someone like us can turn down, no?" 

Not responding, Hidden drew her dagger and readied herself. He would fall like the other two had.

Hidden's hands grasped around the neck of the horse, just making sure to stay on while the beast galloped across the field. It didn't seem to her that Uso-Tsuki knew that she had managed to dispatch his guards and was already on his tail. He was an overconfident fellow in her eyes, pulling a stunt like this with only three people to try and take over as chief of an entire large city. While he may have been informed of the typical protections of the chief and had already exploited multiple guards, he didn't put any of that into motion. In fact, it would've made more sense to attack while he was still in the city where Uso-Tsuki had plenty of defected guards on standby, waiting to assist with the assassination of the man they had sworn to protect from any danger. Only a bit more until she could take out Uso-Tsuki.
