Vale

There was more and more information being shared about Ssendom and the front lines, Vale was actually quite happy about it. But there were more questions being brought up and the answers still felt like there was a layer of secrecy. Just who was this Opal and why was she such a threat to the frontlines. Vale had deduced that Dom was assassinated by Opal, but the why and when were still very important questions. One that Vale wanted to ask but felt appropriate to just leave it be for now, turning her attention to the Iron Guardian who stood there with his arms crossed.

The Panther Woman triggered her flash step speed and launched into the readying a full-throttle singular punch to destroy the Guardian. But the Guardian anticipated it and held an off angle swing at the woman to throw off her trajectory both of them missing the chance to hit one another. Because of the re-direction she blew into a boulder and landed on the ground, She slowly stood and readied herself again. In that moment she remembered that there was one more aspect to this quest. The Quest giver himself was probably hiding waiting for a chance to ambush them. Vale peered around but did not see traces of the Information broker.

A sinking feeling overcame Vale when she set the final button in to unlock the chest, loosely she regretted sharing this bit of information. The panther woman got a feeling that this would be something painful to deal with, from what she had gathered from the short amount of time she and Jomei had spent time together that Dom was someone close. It was the driving factor that led her to this very moment with the Rapier Master. The air was still for the moment of silence that prelude to the discovery what resided inside the chest. Vale fumbled through every single thought she had with her short time spent with the proud fighter Lessa. She was quite specific not to share information about the greatsword, Vale bit her lip slightly looking at the ginger haired man. Vale would have to ignore the warning given to her as she felt the man was trust worthy enough for the information.

The man approached the chest, and for a moment it felt like something was was grasping her lunges with a violent amount of strength. She was unable to breath, albeit there was nothing actually affecting her. The dead feeling she got when she saw his eyes widen as the inventory of the chest became visible after Jomei's finger had finished pressing the button to open the display. His words were like nails digging into her skin in an uncomfortable way, she couldn't stand holding secrets such as this. This man needed to understand more of Vale's predicament, and the best place to start with was showing him that very Greatsword. Despite that statistically it was more powerful than all her other equipment, she couldn't use it for more reasons than it just being a weapon type she wasn't proficient in.

Vale stepped back from the best and sat down in one of the study's many lounging chairs, "So, I assume there are a lot of questions." She asked somewhat embarrassingly, "I am willing to share every bit of information you want to know. If you'll meet me half way and answer all my questions." She informed him. She sat back into the lounge chair, "I'll let you start as it seems you're quite shell-shocked at this current moment." The room for discussion effectively opened by the woman with that giant weapon still being stared at by the once former wielders friend. The bookshelves stocked full of all the books, with slight notches on them made by a player. Each individual book had a notch in the same meticulous place, as if it were an indicator for something. If she were holding a secret such as Gram, there was no telling just how long she had this estate. And what more secrets did the Shadow's Pride have was an ever growing question.

Hikoru displayed a smile to the girl, a convincing one at that. It seemed as though the Shadow Stalker had bought into Vale's words and took what she said to heart. The second he told her that the day belonged to her, she smiled happily at the man, "Thank you, so much Hikki-kun" She couldn't help but call him by the nickname she gave him. It felt special to her that she got to call him that, "I-I'm sorry, Ace-kun." She blushed and smiled at him. Pulling Hikoru along as she increased the pace, she continued to pull Hikoru along giving him a chance to check out her entire figure from head to toe. Something she was certain of would happen, and felt it was already to let the man ogle at her a little bit. He was the only person she wanted to have looking at her body and it's entirety.

It wasn't too much further to go and they stood before the entrance to Friben Village. She eye'd down the Teleportation Gate and thought of the various places to go to have a wonderful date night. The Town of Beginnings was honestly the only one that came to mind. Due to the sheer size of the town there was always something to do including walks in the park and various other means of enjoyment. Pulling his arm forward so he stood beside her, she hooked her arm around his, "Shall we go to the Town of Beginnings and have our date now dear?" She smiled at him sweetly. The two of them already had people stopped in their tracks looking at them, but it was easily to figure that the attention was on the scantily clad woman.

Vale stretched her arms and rested her arms behind her head, she had been put a fair amount of effort into these little quarrels with some vipers. Was Ruby looking for a snake familiar, definitely didn't seem her style. But the fact that the woman was still adamant of the use of martial arts despite the fact that she was also a healer of sort. Vale was surprised just how good this girl was with her Martial Arts, Looking over at Ruby, "I have nothing but respect for you at this current moment." She admitted. An serious tone of voice came from her, not the same joking fun voice she had when they first met. Despite the fact that Ruby was extremely interesting and ravishing, "I'll definitely make sure to call you by your first name now. I hope you never stop growing stronger." Vale also admitted with a smile on her face.

The young man began to slow his movement to the point where he stopped, she put her delicate hand over her mouth worried if she had upset Hikoru. He began to explain why he was nervous, something she could feel as though it were a brick wall standing in front of her. He told her that he had never really been on an actual date, practically telling the woman that he had absolutely no clue what to do and needed guidance. She walked up to him still holding his first hand, she slowly moved her fingers into his second hand to take control of both of them. Now standing slightly taller than him due to her shoes, she stared deeply into his eyes, "You don't have to beat yourself over it so much." She started as she brought his hands up to her face. Delicately kissing each hand trying to display as much of a loving feeling as she possibly could.

She brought the hands down slightly, opening her eyes after having just finished kissing his hands, "It is okay Ace-kun, you're safe now." Were the only words she could think of at that moment that she felt were just as true being said. He still lived in the idea of his mind that he was still in danger, "I'll protect you from now on.' She moved a hand from his hand to gently on his face, "Just believe in me." She said with a smile, closing her eyes to add to the moment.

An embassy of unique darkness, the only light from natural sources deep underground and the rocks latent with crystals that glisten and shine in this light. The cold and damp under dark, something not yet traversed by the Martial Artist. A myriad of locations traveled to, the blistering heat in the sandy dunes to the frozen wastelands of the snowy tundra. But there was no more biome she despised most than a beautiful with the worst possible climate to match with it. Vale could feel the moisture on her skin, it constantly nagged at her, bothering her concentration, "Urgh. Stupid wet air, it messes with my fur and makes it feel so weighted down." She looked around trying to see if there were any nodes in the ground that could yield some worthwhile reward, but nothing that made the girl satisfied.

She heard a flapping of wings, her investment into search and detect giving her an edge at perception. Her eyes danced around the caverns peering around until she saw an azure falcon flying through the under dark. It made Vale think deeply, "Why would a falcon be down here? I haven't heard people in a good minute. That has to be a player familiar." Was the only conclusion for a bird of that pedigree in such a dower like floor. Vale turned to look at Eclipse, seeing the overgrown cub holding a live critter bat, "You know... If you're hungry you can just say so." She mocked the beast in a hushed tone, "Anyways, put it down. And come with me." She instructed her Panther.

The two of them prowled about until they heard voices. Regardless of being able to see the people, the panther-like woman didn't know if these were player killers. To be safe she and the cat hid within the darkness provided by the natural light of this cavern. She searched her inventory for a small little item she had crafted in her inventory real fast to assist using the shadows to their utmost strength. She grabbed the eye drops to change one's entire eyeball to pitch black for a period of time. With everything set Eclipse laid against the wall so Vale could eavesdrop in comfort, one of the few times the largest familiar by systems standard was actually kind toward his Master.

Gear + Stats

Hikoru pulled himself in to leave a soft kiss upon Vale's lips, agreeing to go with her to town. She kissed him back during the brief period of time that he came in for his kiss, smiling happily the two walked hand in hand toward town. With the Sun at it's highest point, the two of them walking with only the shadow under them and the long winding road that lead to the town. Wind slightly pushing around her dress, making it seem like at any moment something could be exposed. But thanks to the systems equipment function she wouldn't have to worry about the system revealing anything she doesn't want revealed. The girl looked at Hikoru with delight in her eyes, "So what do you want to do while we're in town for the day Ace-kun?" She asked inquisitively, the walk to this point having been mostly silent.

The sound and sight of the great green river within a few steps reach of them to their right, the mansion slowly disappearing into the distance behind them. Vale was absolutely stoked, she wanted to know where it was that Hikoru wanted to take her. She wanted to know what he did for fun, she wanted to know more about him. To this point the information had been mostly one sided, her sharing with him. Vale didn't want to push the young man, he was dealing with things the best he could and making strides at his own pace. He had opened his heart this much to her, that was enough for her to accept for now.

The elegantly dressed woman looked directly at Hikoru's eyes, they were clearly stuck to the plot of her outfit. The girl sighed slightly, placing a finger on his chin lifting it up so his eyes could meet her currently uniquely designed eyes, "All because I want to spend my day with you, and it makes me happy that you are interested in my looks. I would still like to be treated like a respected woman." She said with a slight sternness to her voice. Vale kissed Hikoru on the cheek, "If you wish to be called Ace, I will do so today. But you'll always be my Hikki-kun." She said with a smile and a blush on her face. If calling him by his birth name was what he wanted, Vale would follow suite. Pulling his body by wrapping her arms around his arm, placing it in a spot he originally couldn't get his eyes removed from. She intently maintained eye contact, "But if I am to call you Ace-kun, then you have to address me by my first name as well." She leaned up against his ear and whispered her name, "U-mi-ko. [Pronunciation: You-me-kou]" finishing her name she breathed lightly on Hikoru's ear to rile the boy up.

She began to move forward, sliding her hands down his arm until their hands touched. Vale slowly interlocking her fingers, weaving them in between his fingers. She didn't want to seem like she was being courted by a man. She wanted to feel like she was one with Hikoru and holding hands was the most direct way to get that across to people. She whistled causing Eclipse to hop down from his Platform Chandelier and come up to them, "Eclipse if you could watch the house, I'll get you that Minotaur meat you love." The beast shrugged, nodded, and walked away. She turned to look at Hikoru with the biggest smile she could give, "Shall we go, Ace-kun."

Personally though, revival is an interesting idea and could be nicely rp'd to those willing to revive.

It's definitely a case of just where the gray ends, and if the reviving seems fair. I mean first it must be approved. But when they died they had a lot of items on them that could benefit the site once again. And the issue about their unique skills (I'd just assume they'd be gone.). Personally if they were revived, I'd be so hyped. But these two specific characters are at the core of a lot of problems of the past when it came to problems with Staff. If they could be revived, I would like to pursue how and what is retained. There are a lot of questions, this would definitely bring purpose to the site from veteran players. Certain a good three or four may return for sure. I'm very flip floppy on this, I both want desperately and as well don't want Dom to return personally. And that's how I'm trying to respond to this, not doing too hawt on that.

If there was a site revival of characters. I'd be all for that, but there could be some specific characters that the Staff doesn't want to see revived. Namely Dom and Zel, and I will have to say for good reason too. This is purely an opinion before anyone gets mad. But some limitations should be placed on players that do revive that way, and a way to fairly figure out where the gray ends to become Black and White.

But let me deffo say, I'd be all for a revival of dead characters. I was lowkey having that thought a few days ago but didn't pitch it because I didn't know how well it would be taken to if I said it. xD

With her entire look ready, all that mattered was the shoes. She looked through easily one or two hundred different pairs until she found some that had just a small incline since the girl was already a slight amount taller than the young man. She grabbed her purse, which held her gauntlets just in case. As she brought the strap over her shoulder she looked at the time and went to grab something specific when she heard a knock at the door. HIkoru opened the door to see her dress with how much her back was exposed, the poor young boy wasn't even ready for the front side to be seen just yet. The low-cut dress was just enough to cover everything needing to be hidden, but showing off everything that would get the attention of Hikoru, "Come in." She said.

Hikoru started speaking as he entered and saw the bombshell for the first time. Vale grabbed a see-through and thin black shawl to go over her. Turning the boy would get the full image that she presented herself. The Black and White look on the lass was almost mystifying with the black background and white iris eyes. The woman used the system to its fullest extent, she was ready to make Hikoru's day off with her the best he'd ever had. As she reached the stunned Hikoru, Placing a soft and sweet kiss on his cheek leaving a black kiss mark on his face, "You ready to go Hikki." She said with a blush stretched across her face.

Vale looked at the front door's as they approached the massive building, Jomei showing a twinge of jealousy that felt as though it came with a feeling of awe at the same time. Vale looked back at him, "Well, I was running around the various floors during my months of isolation. Training and constantly grinding. I am uncertain of how much Col I amassed at the time, but since I had nothing to spend the money on. There was never a need to buy anything, so I put it all toward this home. With the leftover col I had, it was pretty easy to fill up the house and bedroom with everything I need including all the different clothes I want to wear for the future." She admitted to the man. There was no doubt about the fact that Vale was quite proud of the massive investment and all the work that work that was done to obtain the home.

As she opened the front door, she stopped and turned to look at Jomei blocking the path for a moment, "What I'm about to show you, is only known between me and one other person. This I have held secret for awhile now." She told him then began to walk turning her attention to the path, "Follow me." The panther girl directed. There was a panther laying on top of the platform chandelier. It's head aiming down looking at Jomei as he entered the door, during the night time the breed was hyper-aggressive. Instead of its usual yellow eyes, the eyes were stark red which was reminiscent of monsters in this world. But just as the beast started to stand, Vale spoke up, "Eclipse you stay up there. We're here for an important reason." Her words caused the cat's eyes to flick back to yellow and watch them.

Not too much longer into the walk was a large chest in the library, it showed to be locked. Vale walked up inputting the passcode to allow the chest to be openable, "I'll let you open it and see what it is that is inside." She said to the ginger, wondering the response she was to get from the rapier master.

Vale smile was wide and cheeky when he agreed, she wanted to make the man happier. Something she thought that she was already doing with the red cheeks and smile the handsome devil seemed to always have adorned on his face around her. After a happy and relieving moment to let tears stream down her face she prepared herself for bed. She grabbed the bottles she had crafted in her shop to help with the showering process. It was much nicer using the coding of the system to assist with her unruly hair. After a deep and enriching shower Vale spent a good amount of time in front of the mirror trying to get her make-up on point. Using her personal crafts she wanted to change the look to completely surprise Hikoru.

Starting with the <Dark Eye> eye altering eye drops she had created a while back, she put one drop into each eye turning their entirety black. She then reached and grabbed a <Clear Iris> eye drops and put one drop in each eye, creating a clear white iris on a black background eyeball. Each was only visual status effects that lasted for a period of time, nothing she would have to worry about since her testing proved there were no harmful side effects that came with it. Vale walked over to the closet of the Master Bathroom, which was a walk-in closet filled to the brim with clothes. Vale didn't have much Col or materials left on her from her days of training in isolation as she had spent them all to have such different clothing options. Sifting around, she found a devilishly sexy dress to wear for the night to accentuate her best visual qualities. After putting on the dress, she did one last look through all of her jewelry for something to match the outfit, She left her hair out of the bun and went with a wavy and gorgeous hairstyle to finish up her look for the evening.

I guess a full indepth analysis on my thought process for this entire ordeal including some other various notes I have for this discussion. I would have to agree with Zelrius in the fact that me and him spent the better part of the 6 months we were in cahoots on the site. As a power-gamer and avid roleplayer, I personally love this site because I can abuse both spectrums to my pleasure. We easily spent 4-8 hrs a day on various calls throughout the days and nights just calculating numbers and finding advantages. One of the biggest issues during the Tristan and Zero era's despite the fact I love the two tard-nuggets since I joined, was the issue over Unwritten and Written rules which caused a MASSIVE disconnect between staff and players. Many players abiding by rules they believe to exist, but when they fall back on the rule when they need it. The fact it was unwritten meant it could not be acted upon appropriately, when this almost caused one of Dom's Deaths, it was really infuriating and problematic.

With the new staff team, I believe we have a quality group of people who will voice their opinions to one another and work together (Dear lord I hope, or I'ma hurt you @Ruby... Yeah I am looking at you. :P). When I was abusing the system as Dom in the past, it was to finally abolish this situation of the Unwritten rules. I was intentionally trying to open the staff's eyes to see the problems and they wouldn't act. But those issues caused problems with other Very notable players that have had a misinterpretation with the Unwritten rules of the website, I will not use their names to keep things put at rest to stay at rest. The problems of the past are also the problems of now.

So we're at a dilemma that existed when even I started. The massive disconnect between the front lines and your character. The whole point of SAO-RPG is to enjoy the deep enrichening plot that can be created if you were maybe the Kirito of the story. But players don't want to be roleplaying themselves as cheerleaders for a solid ten levels before they can do anything alone. That long time spent just trying to prepare yourself to do anything is enough to prevent a player from even taking a stab at trying to play. The grind is too long for the delicious reward that comes there nearer the end. People LOVE to fight difficult bosses because that is the whole point of the gaming community. We want to push floors and see challenges presented to us, I am level 41 on my second character after a coup de grace was done on the Level 48 Legend Dom. And still what gets me to finish posts is getting to be in these Historical Floor Boss raids. But with all the issues that still occur, we've got a problem of a Boss Meeting Thread being completely held up and there is no attempt done to push the site forward. And from what it looks like a solid month or longer the site has completely stagnated.

People flow by the site every single day, new people we have never even met. And what makes or breaks the idea of them joining is how active the site is. Our Veteran's that are around are losing all their muse, quite literally so. They don't want to post, since they don't want to post, players trying to reach them have less insentive to post because the challenge is started to wane. With no real purpose to leveling at that point, people stop posting and just hover around the site. We need to show progression and an drive to displaying more of the site as a whole.

There are two actual solutions I can see from this.

-Hard Cap/Soft Cap with a Level minimum start: Since players really want to make an impact on the site and find a reason to start grinding. They just need to start at a higher level plain and simple. I know a lot of other players maybe upset with it. But I agree with shield, too damn bad. Should the new players start directly at 1 under the current tier, this I would have to disagree personally. There should still be some purpose to T1. Players should start with a specific SP to round them out to level 15 or 20. Enough that they can set their starting stats and atleast be able to fend for themselves. And an amount of Col to possible acquire a single perfect item, or a few uncommon items (Of course this may depend on players who own shops. But it is something they can find their first gear and specifically a training set of gear starting at T1 is pretty important.) This would be the best way to bring the site a bit closer together by also setting the Soft Cap level at level 50. And vastly increase the amount of SP needed to reach even higher levels. With new Tiers coming out, bring that Soft Cap and Hard Cap up.

-New Server: I have explained the benefits multiple times. But even this would not be enough. It would still need Hard and Soft Cap restraints and would be managed far more micromanaged than the first server did. There are many other variations that one could do to spice up a new server by including several and each server having it's own specific niche. Maybe one considered the Primary Server and had a time limit to finish the floors. The possibilities are endless technically.

Unfortunately, no choice is going to save this site. The only thing that is honestly going to save this site is our dedication as the SAO-RPG Family to try and bring people in and make them feel welcomed (And totally not kill level 1's in an OP... Not pointing ANY fingers at who could have POSSIBLY done that.)

Essentially what this boils down to, is the less active we are as a whole on this site. The more it is gonna reflect in the lack of users coming to the site. Personally I have seen a growth in the past 9 days playing with my constant posting and multiple-thread completion. Some veteran's are returning of their own volition seeing the site show some activity even if it mostly from a singular person. And we have had a couple new people come and join us. But the best I can think of is a Soft and Hard Cap to help bridge the site slightly.

The panther-like woman inputted the passcode set to the Grand Fireplace. Upon entering the right button sequence the fire immediately flashes out and is no longer ablaze. Slowly a false back wall opens to a gorgeous sight known only as the Great Arboretum. In the Grand Green Riverside Estate of Vastiamos was once held by someone who was a practioneer of alchemy and herbalism. This man grew such a great green house of majestic and vastly rare plants. Something Vale would have to replenish as the man took most of the plants with him when he departed from the Estate. Vale saw many spots a plethora of plants could grow and make such a wonderful looking hanging garden. Vale stopped and stowed her mind away, it was time to pay homeage to the Fireplace that she bought as it was a standard Fireplace on this side of the wall too. With that she had a vastly better day, then the last day she spent in the Spring of Youth.

Vale began to pet the top of Eclipse's head gently and sweetly, even Eclipse himself couldn't resist a good head scratch from his master. The Panther was extremely happy to get pampered at times like this, there was nothing the cat wanted more aside from Food and a comfier place to sleep. All that was in due time, while the Martial Artist had her own grumpy pet subdued so it wouldn't interrupt her any longer. She sifted through the quest log and saw that she completed the requirement in order to turn in the quest. But, the Feline Fighter turned to look back at the decayed carcass of Byakko, something that is not normally suppose to happen. Vale felt genuinely sad for the beast, to be used like a puppet in a greater beings game was absolutely atrocious. Something that Vale herself couldn't stand for.

Vale opened her menu, "Don't worry about it Eclipse, I will tell you about it later-" Before she finished speaking Eclipse roared at her showing a serious and demanding side that Vale had yet to see from the beast, "Why are you shouting at me? It's not a big-" Again she was interrupted by the feline roaring back at the feline-woman. She stepped back in a slight amount of shock, this was a completely different Eclipse than she was used to seeing, "Are you worried about me?" The beast shook it's head with intensity, Vale blinked and asked a different question, "You're worried about your food supply are you." The beast looked away and gave a not-so-shameful nod of his head. Vale sighed, "For a moment I thought you actually cared... You fat grump," Vale insulted Eclipse as she approached her familiar.

Vale watched as the essence slowly pulled itself off of Byakko, again leaving behind only the remains of the creatures bones. She definitely saw the blue particles fluttering in the air, but they came through the essence that controlled it. This entity left Vale there in the middle of the forest, the feeling of being watched finally evaporating from the gut of the woman, at the least for today. Vale took a few deep breaths before she turned to look at Eclipse, the cat stood there looking at her with a sense of intrigue. It seemed as though Eclipse himself was interested in what it is that Vale had managed to get herself wrapped into. Despite that it dislike Vale and didn't really care if she was happy or sad... She was his source of delicious Minotaur Meat, and an evil spirit threatening that source of food irked the Cat.

The Beasts jaw was almost forcibly intertwined the ground, the eyes on the essence that enveloped the beast shifted to look directly at her, "You possess the fighting prowess... You possess the strength... but do you possess the Will?" echoed a voice in her head, the exact same voice she had heard multiple times before. Vale looked back into the essence, "I don't care what you send at me, use every last bit of your strength what ever it is you are. I shall not be defeated. I will fight you even if it takes my life." She shouted proudly at the essence smacking her clenched fist into her chest, before swinging the other charged fist into the beast destroying the last remains of it's health, all that could be heard with the shattering of the beast was, "Good..." In a deep and sinister voice.

She stood in the middle of the forest to the north west, the last sighting of the beast known as Byakko. Vale looked to the sky, and slowly but surely the color in the air began to morph ever so slightly. From the usual blue, to a redish hue. Suddenly the heat in the area began to rise, Vale's ear twitch as she looked over at the large source of light that was making it's way through the tree's. Little time did she need to wait in order to see a charging flame beast coming straight for her, coated in that hideous red energy that had eyes, ever glaring at the martial artist. Vale closed her eyes and listened for the beasts movements, just before it would reach her. She Flash stepped to a branch that sit far above, the beast unsure of where she went. Another flash step to place herself right above the head of Byakko with a full charged right arm, slamming down upon the cranium of the beast with virulent force.

Vale sifted through her inventory for anything that might be handy in the upcoming fight she was about to partake in. Since she had used her Claws of the Beast potion a while back with Jomei against the Monkey King. She was left with a good six or seven Spark Sharp potions that would barely increase her damage. But enough to come in handy. Vale withdrew a single Spark Sharp potion out of her inventory materializing in front of her. The Panther woman spread out her arms and withdrew the claws that lie hidden inside the cat-like paw gauntlets that she had equipped. As the potion finished materializing, the Neko slammed her hands together shattering the potion and sparks flying to empower her damage a slight amount. She had enough in the reserves and they were test potions anyways. So she wouldn't lose too much from using it.

Vale began to exit the settlement with Eclipse walking in a slow stride right beside her, keeping the fatigued mind of the martial artist at a slight amount of peace. No longer on these travels would she be truly alone. Vale would rather bicker and argue with her own familiar for days over spending another minute without another soul to share time with. Despite Eclipse was just a system generated entity, in the idea that this was a world of it's own. Eclipse had a soul of it's own, it's own personality, it's own feelings, and emotions. That thought brought Vale down to earth with a smile, "Despite the fact that you're a rude, grumpy, and moody all the time Eclipse." She began to saw as the Cat began to growl at her, "I am far happier that you're in my life than not." She said with a smile, the oversize panther shrugged and looked away causing Vale to chuckle as the beast didn't want to share in it's feelings.
