  1. Minako's form appeared on the fifth floor, herself arriving on the desert floor of Aincrad. She was already prepared for the heat, but not the blinding sun, as she raised a hand to her face to cover her eyes from the blinding rays. An NPC quickly hurried over to her, practically begging for her assistance. Minako looked at the quest details and saw that the quest wasn't all that bad. As far as levels and level of dangerousness went. The skill the quest offered seemed useful, ignore any and all environmental conditions? Sign her the heck up. That's when Minako noticed the other two ladies present. She stepped up to the pair. "Hello, it's Minako!" She said, using her usual intro as her basis for introduction. "You girls plan on doing the," She paused, looking at her menus for the quest name. "The Traveler?" She asked, wanting to know if the girls would join her one it. "If you'd like, we could all do it together. I hate the sand, it's rough and coarse and it gets everywhere." She said, disliking the fifth floor very much.

  2. Minako sniffled through jevi's shirt, her head placed on her chest and her tears staining the fabric that draped the woman. "But *sniff* what if they all *sniff* hate me now?" She stuttered out through her tears. "I was someone to them, *sniff* someone they trusted an-an-and *sniff*." She said, her sentence being cut off by her own tears as she tried to catch up with breathing. She had never talked about this to anyone, and frankly, she didn't want to but here she was talking away like it was some sort of gossip. "And, I betrayed that trust. I told so many people that this was going to be fun, and exciting, and a great time. And that we'd all finally be able to hang out together and have fun." She said, pulling her face away from Jevi. "Do you know what that feels like? To tell upwards of twenty thousand people, maybe even more, a lie like that? How many people have died, because I told them that this was going to be a 'life changing experience?" Minako said, her eyes swelling shut again.

  3. Minako didn't want to be a bother to jevi and her friend when she arrived. Maybe they both were looking for cute boys to hang out with, yeah that had to be it. Minako pounded a fist into an open palm, now more determined than ever to find a man to make friends with. She scanned the area and noticed an unusual amount of wallflowers. They were no fun. What was the point of dressing up for a party, then showing up to said party, and not looking forward to partying? Minako let out a 'humpf' as she scanned the ball goers for at least one solitary male who could smile. And there, she spotted one. "Cuteish boy, twelve O'clock." Minako said to herself stepping towards the tall figure. He wore a black mask, that resembled the shape of a half moon, or a yin-yang symbol. His vertical stripes only accentuated his height even further. "Hey there!" Minako said, holding up a hand for him. "I'm Minako. You here by yourself?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.

  4. Minako ran into Jevi on her way to the party on the eleventh floor when she had bumped into a familiar face. "Ouh! Hi Jevi, you going to party as well?" She asked, removing her mask and walking beside her friend. They had done a few quests together and celebrated afterward. "I don't have a date, but hey! Maybe Mr' Right will be there waiting for me?" She said giving Jevi a smirk. "Maybe you can find someone too, huh?" She said, jabbing a cheeky elbow gently against her friend's side. Minako placed her mask back on her face and held the door open for Jevi. She was a little overwhelmed by the number of people in the large hall. NPC's and players alike all wore masks, and mingled about, while soft and romantic music played in the air. Minako's emotions ran a bit rampant and nervousness took over. Despite her profession, she wasn't that much of a people person. She was online at least, she was by herself in her room with only people watching her across the internet. This was, different. She clung to Jevi's sleeves, but let go when another girl leaped onto Jevi.

  5. Minako bounced slightly at jevi's question. "Oh, you don't know me?" She asked, tilting her head. "That's such a relief. I'm used to people just, knowing who I am all the time." She said, giggling. "I'm an internet celebrity. Or at least, that's what the internet calls me." She said, thinking of her actual job. "I play video games for a living in my room while my parents fight downstairs." She said, smiling. "Well, I mean." She began again, trying not to end on that kind of note. "I mean, I play video games. I sing. I dance. All sorts of things for the people who watch me. I think I ended up with somewhere around, seventeen thousand watching me in my last stream. Most of them were from overseas though. I'm very popular in America." She said, humbly. "Last thing I told all of them was that SAO was going to be the next big thing. I can't even begin to think about..." He voice cracked. "About, how many are here because I told them it was going to be a good time." She said, tears rolling down her cheeks.

  6. Minako rolled her eyes heavily and completed the ensemble with a shoulder drop. "Like a log. I don't even dream at this point, I just kinda fall asleep and wake up a few hours later. It's kinda like blacking out from too much alcohol, but without the hangover in the morning." Minako said, adding a bit of dramatic flair to the end of her sentence. "And what do you think about that prevents you from getting sleep? Are they like 'Do penguins have knees?' or 'Is a tomato a fruit, or vegetable?' or or-" And Minako continued with other questions that either had a simple answer or were just pointless questions that didn't have an answer. She stopped herself abruptly in the middle of a question. "Oh, I'm rambling again aren't I?" She asked, giggling. "Sorry if I do that. It's a bad habit of mine, but it helped with my job so, it helps in a way?" She said, her face glowing.

  7. Minako fussed with her clothing as she and Jevi spoke to one another. Jevi asked if she had been keeping her long. Minako shrugged. "Nope, not that long." Minako said, lying coyly. Minako disliked waiting, but she also disliked telling people that she did. It was always a mental conundrum in her mind, choosing what to say or what to do. "Like I said." Minako began again, reiterating the quest. "We've got to grab a few Boar Tusks, and to get those we have to kill a few mobs." She said, almost a bit too excited. She hadn't used her weapon yet, despite it being one that she liked a lot. Her shoulder slumped as she walked. The pair walked silently for a bit, but silence bored Minako immensely. Unable to stand the silence anymore, Minako spoke up. "So, did you sleep well?" She asked, trying her hand out at normal conversation.

Minako was awake before the sun rose again. Her body much more used to waking up on its own. Years of streaming and playing late into the day had conditioned her like this. She had fans after all, and she wasn't about to disappoint them. Speaking of which, she had someone to meet with today anyhow. She made plans with Jevi to continue the quest line for beginner quests. The arranged time was for seven, but it was five currently. Minako could leave now and reach the place by five thirty, but then Jevi wouldn't be there for several hours. Minako yawned, the thinking putting her back to sleep. But she pushed through her tiredness and crawled out of bed.

Twenty-five minutes before seven, and Minako was already waiting for Jevi to arrive. Minako had already gone inside the blacksmithy and skipped his dialogue. She had delivered his package and received yet another chore from the man. They had to go out and kill a few boars and get some tusks. Minako realized that materials could be found in a plethora of ways. By just searching for them, or by having them drop from monsters. Seven came and Minako could see the familiar hair of her friend over the small crowd of people. Minako stood from her spot and waved her over. "Jevi! Over here!" Minako said, her smile beaming. When Jevi arrived, Minako filled her in on the quest details and began to stroll to where the quest was taking them.

  10. Minako smiled. "It seemed like it though, didn't it?" She asked, somewhat excited. "I played a game that used science as a game mechanic. So it just kinda followed what I remembered." She admitted, not sure as to what she really was doing. She added the potion to her inventory, thinking of what to call it. "Should we name it 'Potion of Healing' or just stick with 'Healing potion'?" Minako asked as she tapped her chin in thought. Her thought was broken as the NPC came up to her and handed her a package and a handful of items. Minako smiled as she added the various things to her inventory. Every third word the NPC managed to get out, Minako would reply with an audible 'skip'. The NPC moved accordingly. At the end of it all, Minako looked at her quest log and saw that she had started another quest. "Hey, I got another quest to do." Minako said looking over at Jevi. "You, wanna help me with it? Maybe sometime tomorrow if you're busy today?" She said, kicking the dust with her feet.

  11. Minako looked up at Jevi, like a puppy who had missed its owner for far too long. "It makes me happy that you're happy." Minako said, almost bringing herself to tears. Minako stepped away, eager to find the last material, but then Jevi said something that caught her attention. "You found one!" She nearly squealed out in delight. Minako turned to see Jevi holding the material high above her head. Minako smiled. "That's so awesome Jevi!" She said, running up and hugging her. "Now we can commence step two," Minako said before the realization hit her. "I don't know what that is, I wasn't paying attention. I was trying to skip all the dialogue. I think I actually left in the middle of the conversation." She said, thinking back to it.

Arriving back at the NPC's shop, he greeted the players. And instructed them on how to brew potions. Minako didn't pay attention but kept trying to play with the various beakers and vials that decorated the table in front of her. Minako tried to mimic the motions that the NPC had done. Adding chemicals, moving liquids about and toying with the bunsen burner. Frankly, she was amazed that a potion appeared in front of her, and that the table wasn't set on fire. She held the tiny vial in her hands with awe and slowly turned to jevi. "Looooooooook." She said quietly, cradling the potion like it was a small child. "I did it."

  12. Jevis reaction only confirmed her suspicions about Jefi being too high a level to even see the materials. And when Jevi began to say that there was no need to pay her back, Minako objected. "What? No, that's unacceptable." She said, stamping a foot. "I wasted your time, when you could've been doing something that you wanted to do." Minako said, not buying Jevis excuse of her being a fun person to be around. Minako looked for another material but nothing came to her eyes, as she was too busy trying to think of a way to entertain Jevi. Maybe dancing? After all they were in a video game, it's not like they could play video games, or see a movie. Did SAO have a theatre group? Would that be a good idea to make one? Would anyone join it? SMinako pinned the thought.

  13. Minako walked over to Jevi, grabbing another material on the way. "Maybe, you're too high a level to find them?" Minako pondered. "I mean this is  a beginner quest after all, and I'm still level one." Minako said, fidgeting with the hem of her skirt and brushing some hair out of her face. She started to feel bad, making jevi go out on this quest with her. It was a total waste of Jevi's time. She wasn't even enjoying herself. "But hey, I can make it up to you. I just don't know how yet." Minako said, solemnly. But if it was any consolation, they were almost done with the material gathering portion of it. Minako pondered as to what she could do for Jevi to make up for her using her time on something as simple as this. Minako was more than capable doing on her own.

  14. Minako nodded. "I'm a girl. It's kind of my job to know what cute is." She said, placing a hand on her hip and cocking it to the side. Minako bent over to grab another flower but grabbed another material instead. "See? Easy if you take the time to enjoy things. It's kind of like real life in a way. Or a bad movie." Minako said. She smiled softly. "If you take things seriously all the time, you'll lose sense of what you were trying to do in the first place. You should have fun doing it, otherwise what's the point?" Minako asked, fiddling with the hem of her skirt. She blushed slightly, feeling quite silly for trying to make a philosophical point for no reason, but it felt nice. Minako never  Minako went back to picking her favorite flowers, and just scanning the ones she liked over again.

  15. Minako had picked a few more flowers and had begun to secretly braid them together in a circle. Jevi looked frustrated somewhat, and that she needed a pick me up of some sort. Minako held the small crown of flowers in her hand and looked over at Jevi who was currently messing about with flowers. As Jevi knelt back down to inspect flowers, Minako knew she had her moment. She crouched, making her way slowly through the flowers up to her target. She was getting closer, and closer still. Her thighs ached as she snuck up upon her target, waiting for her moment. She let out a giggle as Jevi turned to meet her. "Gotchya!" Minako cried out, placing the flower crown on Jevi. She took a few steps back, to appreciate her handiwork. Minako clapped her hands together. "You look, amazing!" She said giggling. Jevi did look awfully cute with the flower braid crown on. The bright flowers complimented against her dark hair.

  16. Minako giggled as she dug around the flowers looking for the most pretty ones. It was hard, seeing as all the flowers were so pretty. She had never seen so many in one spot before. At least in the wild. There was a nice floral shop on her street that she stopped by every now and again when she left for groceries. She wondered if they were still open. "Ouh!" She cried out, as she grabbed a big pink flower. As she picked it, another material appeared beneath it and she grabbed it, waving it above her head. "Jevi!" She cried out. "I found another one!" She said, giggling. Picking flowers were more fun than she could imagine, as was finding materials. It was fun. More fun then wallowing around in her room all this time. She ran back over to Jevi. "You having trouble?" She asked. "Are you having fun? I think that's the trick to it." Minako said, slamming a fist into her other palm.

  17. Minako let out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank goodness. The last thing I want to do is keep people waiting." She said, cupping an open palm over her chest. "Well, the NPC said that there was a small field just out of the town where we can find the materials. And since they spawn a lot there, they're easier to find!" She said, excitedly bouncing slightly in place before she began to walk off. "Come on Jevi! We've got, things to find and things to explore! Gah, this is just so much fun!" She said, hopping in the air again making her way over to the designated area.

Laughing Minako looked around for the materials she sought after. She needed five materials, and Jevi needed five of her own to complete the quest. She ran around in the flowers, picking a few of them for herself. She ran over to Jevi, flowers in her hands and hair. "Hi again." She said, giggling. "Isn't this place wonderful?" She said, tossing the flowers into the air laughing all the while. "It's so hard to believe that this is all just a game. Just pixels and code, making images that trick our brain into what we're seeing." She said, looking over the field of flowers. "Oh! I almost forgot what we were doing. We're each to find at least five materials from this area." Minako looked at her hand, just now noticing the light blue crystal shaped item in her hand. "Oh! I have one! Yay!" she said, happily going back to the field of flowers.

  18. Minako laughed a bit, before whispering out a yes into a clenched fist of victory. "I'm just doing the 'Lessons' quest line. I haven't done them yet, and they seem like a good place to start." She said. She opened her menu, almost effortlessly and faster than most people her hands almost moving to fast for the console to keep up. And nearly at the same time, Jevi received a party and friend invite. Minako clapped her hands together firmly and skipped ahead slightly. "C'mon, the NPC is like, right around the corner." She said to Jevi.

Minako entered the small building and greeted herself to the aged NPC. He offered her a quest of finding materials, as well as where she could go to find said materials. Minako gave a quick bow and exited the building. "Sorry if I kept you waiting. I tried to rush through his dialogue, but it was unskippable." She said, crossing her hands over the back of her waist.

  19. Minako dusted off her skirt one last time. "Yeah, I'm fine." She said, sounding almost too happy for her own good. "I'm small, so it happens more than you'd think." She said holding up a tiny hand. "Hello! It's Minako!" She said, tilting her head and smiling, just as she used to as an internet celebrity. "I was in a hurry that's all. I'm eager to start questing, and wanted to make sure that I had a good head start." She explained. The tall woman looked strong and really cute. Like, some kind of model or dancer. "Don't take this the wrong way or anything, but you are super cute!" Minako said, complimenting the stronger. "Just saying, the way you stand and that outfit you wear it's all just, so good!" Then Minako got another idea. "Say, if you've got spare time, you wanna come with me on this quest! We can get to know each other, and maybe later we could do another quest. Or maybe even talk about something you wanna talk about? Oh, I know! I'll promise not to run into you anymore! Would that work?" Minako said, trying to not sound too desperate for company.

  20. Minako left the safety of the city behind her hair becoming untied in the harsh winds of the desert. He hair whipped around, tugging at he hair as it did it caused her to jerk her head back every now and again. He pushed forward, however, eager and willing to find that lost or stolen cart of goods and supplies that went missing as per the NPC's quest. This was different than completing some beginner quests. There she had help and some new friends. But here she was alone, and she needed to be. She had to be. She needed to prove to herself that she could do simple tasks alone, with no help. Otherwise, she would be useless to everyone around her. She had already made so many friends now, it was as simple as walking out a door. But she was standing alone now, just as she needed to be.

  21. Minako checked all of her equipment before she headed out. She wanted to be ready for just about anything. She heard that there were sand sharks that preyed on the fifth floor, and with the little combat experience she had in the game, she didn't want to get caught by one. She entered a small tavern and saw a plethora of NPCs and other players alike. They all mingled together both of them smelling the place up with sweat and beer. Minako held her nose as she stepped over the water fountain, and filled up a small flask with it. Still pinching her nose, she stepped back outside, the sun blinding her temporarily as she did. The wind picked up again, but the wind did not carry as it did on other floors. It, like the rest of the floor, was hot and arid. And carried discomfort wherever it went.

  22. Minako teleported to the fifth floor. The unbearable heat and coarse sand pelted her exposed knees and shins as she came into physicality. He raised her arm in front of her face to shield it from the blasts of warm heat cast from the large sun. Just how big was Aincrad, to be able to house entire worlds in it? How big was this floor anyway. It was only the fifth floor so it had to have been one of the large ones. But enough thought about how things worked. There was a reason why she was here and she was going to do it by golly. And as luck would have it she didn't have to wait long for what she was looking to do, have happened did. A cloaked NPC approached her, begging for help. Minako gave a bow and accepted the pleading NPC's quest line.

xXxX The morning came and Minako was already ready to go. She had adjusted her uniform and had attached her weapon to her back as she ran out the building and into the dense crowd. There were so many people. The noise of the crowd only being further clouded by their footsteps. She could barely hear herself think as she made her way to where she wanted to go. She had spent the last few weeks in preparation. Studying everything she could. She was good at video games, but MMO's were a different breed entirely. So many numbers, and skills, and cooldowns. And then you have to factor in all of the different people, and sword arts and weapon types. Then the enhancements and Minako got a little dizzy from thinking about it all over again. She already had a road map of what she wanted to do. She wanted to go what was known as a damage per second character. Someone who could deal consistent damage, at high integers. There was such a thing as burst characters who could deal even more damage, but their numbers slowly diminished after the burst was done, and needed to so several steps to get it to work again.

xXxX Minako was moving quickly, her small stride making a decent pace as she rounded the corner. Her eyes widened in surprise as she slammed into someone and bounced off of them. her face bounced off of something soft, but alas her butt did not. Minako fell backward after bouncing off of the stranger, bouncing on the ground. "Ow..." She muttered as she rubbed her butt. She looked up, seeing the giant that she had run into. "Sorry." Minako apologized, picking herself up off the ground, dusting off her skirt. "I wasn't watching where I was going. My apologies." SHe said, giving the tall woman a bowing gesture.

    Profile
    Username: Minako
    Real name: Miyuki Akemi
    Age: 20
    Gender: Female
    Height: 5'3"

    About: History/personality
Born into a very boring, yet seemingly well-off family, Miyuki raised herself. Her mom and dad were never home as they worked all the time, and the rare occasions that they were home they both spent it drinking and fighting with each other. The only thing that they seemed to agreed on was how much they loved their little girl. Each one would save up spare money to buy Miyuki a gift, each one either more extravagant or heartfelt than the last. She had everything a teenage girl could've ever wanted. Miniatures, paints, music, anime, manga, and the most important thing of all, a computer. Miyuki loved her computer, she loved it to pieces. She did all sorts of things on it. She played games, streamed herself opening boxes, and other sorts of fun things. She enjoyed these things. Singing, dancing, playing for everyone who watched. She just loved making people happy, reaching out and making a difference. She developed a different name for this online thing she had started 'Minako'. And apparently, it picked up in the more western communities. Which forced her land, and she taught herself to learn English. It took several years, and she hasn't mastered the skill yet, but it was enough to entertain both Japanese and American audiences.

Her parents saw her less and less as she hid away in her room, singing dancing and streaming. One of her fans named 'Ryoji467', a long time fan on her fan-site, messaged her about the upcoming soon to be a sensation, Sword-Art-Online. A full-dive VR experience. The full dive bit was a bit confusing, but it sounded exciting. The page claimed that she could use her entire body as a controller, and as someone who enjoyed dancing as a hobby.

She pre-ordered the game and system with the donations that she had earned through her years of her internet celebrity career. The package arrived a few days earlier then she had expected, and it was from the company itself. Seemed as though she had a few fans inside the company, and they were able to send her order a few days ahead of time. It was sent with a heartfelt note, and instructions on how to set it up correctly.

Happy to have such miraculous fans, she quickly made a video on how to set up the nerve gear and the game. She was able to test the full dive avatar system but was unable to log into the game early. She enjoyed the experience, it was just like it was advertised. She was super excited to start playing the game, and the next few videos were nothing but blogs about how awesome SAO was going to be.

When the game released Minako hopped online and started to stream the wonderful world that was Sword Art Online. Only things didn't go that way. She was trapped in the game, just as all the others who had joined were. It was only a few weeks later that the realization hit her that some people were stuck in the game because she told them that it was going to be a fun experience. That everything was going to be amazing, and fun. This morally destabilized Minako, causing her to hide in her room for days, weeks, months.

But she couldn't stay in her room forever. People needed something, some kind of hope or light to look to in these dark times. And she couldn't just stay here and rot away. She couldn't just stand around and do nothing. Someone had to do something, anyone had to do something! She grabbed her starting gear and burst outside.

    XXII

    Virtues:
Cheerful: It's always hard to be happy when you're trapped inside of a supposed death game where doom and evil lurk around every corner. Doesn't that sound all kinds all kinds of fun? It all just sounds like some kind of anime or manga come to life, and those are basically fairy tales. Thinking like that means that she's cheerful all the time.

Confident: Having high self-esteem is always a good thing. And Minako has it in spades. There's nothing that Minako doesn't feel confident in doing. She's performed her whole life and only had it lead her to the biggest lie she's ever told. It couldn't get any worse then what it was now. So, what's there to lose?

Dedicated: She's dedicated alright. Spending her early teen years trying to get her PC to run a game, and stream correctly by herself was an issue. As was set up the nerve gear itself. And the one time her bike handles fell off her bike, and she still rode it to school. Point being made is that Minako doesn't like to quit and feels strongly about her own personal desires.

    XXII

    Flaws:

Airheaded: Minako didn't really study all that well in school, or test well that often. She really only enjoyed her electives. Art, music, theatre and all the other ones. She loathed literature. Having to study what some dead guy wrote, and how it made sense in today's era. No one cared, and Minako really didn't care.

Spoiled: Between her parents trying to buy her love from her, and her fans sending donations and gifts, Minako has become somewhat spoiled. She feels as though when she talks about something it just, by chance, happens to arrive within the next few days. She tweets that she's pre-ordered the new nerve gear, and received it in the mail early, why not everything else?

Impatient: Minako dislikes waiting, or standing in one spot for too long. She didn't have many friends in school, but she occupied her time online. Posting videos, chatting with fans, all sorts of things to make herself feel not lonely. She also doesn't want to be the one keeping people waiting, so she's always a few minutes early if not more.
