  1. Nora stands her grounds, she has a feeling that this battle should soon come to a conclusion. She takes out her Odachi and launch at the pair of deer once again. As she has previously expected, deer one was immediately slayed, the new attack combined with the injury that it had suffered before was just too much for it to take. However, deer 2 once again dodged her attack. When deer 2 tries to counter attack against Nora, she was expecting it this time and narrowly skips out of its path. It was unbelievable how this deer is somehow almost full health this far into the battle, but she guess not all monsters are created equally. The only saving grace at this point is that she didn't get hit either, but her energy has become so low that she will just have to try surviving the next round until has enough energy to form another attack. Taking a few steps to the side, she quickly seize her chance at looting deer 1.

  2. Nora steps back from the two deer, readjusted her stands and took a deep breath. She forgot how hard it was to fight the mob on this game and the deer sure are more nibble than boars. Her previous attack missed both monsters, if this keep up she will be in trouble soon. Just then, from the corner of her peripheral vision Nora saw Nari fighting four wolves.

    Four...wolves....!

That's a lot of enemies...will she be alright? Where did them came from? I didn't even saw them. It is lucky that Nari was here, if Nora was alone and got cornered by 2 deer and 4 wolves without a teleportation stone, it might as well be game over for her. But for now, it is time to focus on the battle at hand. Nora readjust her post and launch at the deer in a single swipe. She managed to hit the first deer, joined by her familiar, severely injuring it in the process, but missed the second deer. The first deer was rendered unable to move, but the second deer seize the chance and counter attack against Nora. Her battle heal barely did anything, but it was better than nothing. Nora grinds her teeth, she just need to hang in there.

  4. Nora nods after hearing Nari's explanation. She has been hiding in a safe zone for so long that she is kind of rusty right now. "Yes, fighting separate battles would be the most efficient. But if you see me about to die, please help..."

Before Nora could finish her sentence, the three of them came to a complete stop as Nemo turned around and, revealing two paths, he pointed towards the entrance to the dungeon to them. Nora was pleasantly surprised that it took basically no time for them to reach the Little Eden, now all that's left is to get those sweet sweet crafting materials. "Great! Thank you Nemo! For sharing this little treasure of place with us, we will surely treasure this opportunity!" Now that the entrance was just in front of them, Nora took the last time to check her equipment. Switching out her trinket, she simply cannot wait any longer and happily crosses the small opening partially hidden by the vines. When she got to the other side, she noticed that the sunlight was stronger then she had expected. She turned around to wait for Nari to cross. Just then, she heard some sound of footsteps and quickly turned around only to find a pair of startled looking deer staring back at her.

Startled by the pair of deer, Nora immediately reaches for her katana and performs an aoe against the mob. The deer have already seen her. There's no way for her to avoid a battle now. Better attack sooner than later. She curses when both deer jump back easily to avoid her attack, and both deer charge back at her. Thanks to her trinket, Nora barely manages to dodge the first deer's attack, but the second deer crashed into her shoulder. The thorn in her heavy armor managed to deal some damage, but it was not much. Nora makes a note to herself that the next time she's out of combat, she will switch her gears immediately.

  5. Nora happily accepted the party request and make Nari the party leader by default, and with that, the three of them ventured into the open area and started heading towards the edge of the floor. Officially started their way to find the hidden dungeon known as Little Eden.

Floor 8 is an area covered by a vast a forest, form out of trees stretching out high into the sky and expanding out covering the floor area as far as eyes could see. Visibility is low due to obstruction from trees and other vegetations. Chipper sounds from woodland creatures could be heard from all sides. If this was in the real world, it could have been very relaxing. The gently lights breaching the three branches shining down from above, the sound of water running through water stream and the sound of small animals running in the distant, could all make one feel a part of nature. Nora was momentarily taken in awe by the sheer almost fairy tale like atmosphere of this floor, but she immediately snap back to reality. This is a dangerous game, and the fact that the trees hinder one's perception of the surrounding could mean that monsters will have an easier time sneaking up to them. She reminds herself silently to keep up with her guards on this floor, after all, she has no idea what kind of creatures inhabit this floor.

Just then, Nari spoke. "Is this your first time in the garden, then? Or have you visited before? It's...a wondrous place, if you've never been there before. But...well, you'll have to face the guardian when you attempt to leave. Assuming you haven't, before."

"Ah, speaking of...what's your plan in the garden? I know you're headed there to collect materials, but...there's a number of ways to do so - do you plan on focusing on one of the foraging or fishing methods? Or are you looking to fight something? Just, uh...so we can correlate and know ahead of time, you know?"

Nora turns to look at Nari as they walk. "Oh, I been to the garden before. I forgot if it was on the first or the second floor. I went with another newbie player, we mostly fight boars but we didn't saw the guardian. Perhaps it was dealing with players elsewhere? If luck holds, we wouldn't need to deal with the guardian this time as well."

At the mention of plans, that's a good question. Since her crafting materials are running low at a startling speed, gathering materials is her number one priority right now.

"I'm trying to collect more materials for my shop, I'm running dangerous low right now. If I don't collect more, it is either stop crafting or buy at the general vendor at their inflated price.  I...have actually never heard of either the forging or the fishing method. Fishing takes too much in game time for me, so either forging or fighting monsters would do, whichever one will give me the most materials would be preferred. Speaking of which..."

Nora attempts to find materials around their location.

  7. When Nora was the in the shop earlier, she took a quick glance at what else was available in the shop, but she did not have time to look at them carefully. There might be something else that she need, but she wasn't too sure of it yet. A day later, Nora returns to the shop and examine the catalogue more closely, and sure enough, there really is something that she need. She approaches the cat by the table again. "I would like to purchase this item for 500 col, is it alright for me to pay for it now? Thanks."

  10. Nora received a message through her mail, it looks like her order is now completed and ready for pick up! This is so exciting! She had hoped that she could receive her trinket soon, but she never anticipated that it could be this fast! It looks like everything went smoothly. She quickly send the payment through the banking system and hurry up to the shop for pick up. When she arrives at the shop, she noticed a paper bag with her name written with black ink on the table. She take a look and sure enough, it is her trinket! She smiled at the small cat sitting beside the table. "Please convey my thanks to your master, this will help me out a lot. She has a lovely store and the decoration looks wonderful. I hope to see her again soon." With that, she left the store with her trinket.

  11. !!! Yay!! I got a teammate! "Right! Thank you so much! My name is Nora, and this is..." She wanted to introduce the NPC and realized just then that she never got a name. She turns her glaze towards the NPC and realizes that the NPC is looking and smiling at the other player, and is no longer paying any attention to her. She turns to look at the other player who seems to be staring at the NPC in surprise, and then turns to look at the NPC who is still smiling at the other player. She senses that there's something between the two that she can not understand. Do they know each other? Why hasn't anyone said anything? This is so awkward...

In order to break the silent staring contest, Nora coughs into her hand.

The NPC introduced himself just then. "Hello, my name is Nemo. It is my pleasure to make both of you acquittances. As I was telling Nora here, I am a gardener for Little Eden, a special little dungeon near the edge of the floor. The dungeon is rich with materials, treasures and other wonderful things from your dreams. However, a powerful monster lurks within, attacking players who dare to “steal” from the garden, leaving them gravely injured, or simply killing them outright....But, I'm sure it is not something the two of you couldn't handle. If things get too tough, you could always just run away. I could show you the way, at any time when you are ready." Nemo smiled gently at the two.

Nora nods eagerly, particularly at the mention of running away from a strong boss monster. Somehow, having another player nearby greatly boosted her confidence. "Then there is no time to lose! Let's go, let's get some more materials!" She chirps happily.

At the mention of that, Nemo turns to lead the way out of the main settlement.

Nora turns to the other player. "How should I address you? I think we need to form a team so that we can see each other's health bar. If we stick together, we should be fine. I got a bunch of health potions that we can use."

  13. Today was a total mess! After the big sale that she made the previous day, she thought that today would be just as good for her, but it turns out that her stocks are in a total mess. Nora spend the entire day trying to sort out her stocks, there were dusts and dirt everywhere, her eagle Aragon let out a sharp sound of annoyance at her. Nora wipes the sweat from her forehead and tries to apologies to her eagle. She knows that this is a tedious work, but it has to be done in order for her shop to function properly. The only highlight for the date is that she received her trinket order from Night already. Order completed in one day, now that's record speed. Giving the place one more sweep, her shop is now organized.

  14. Floor 8! I can't believe I made it this far! Just to show you how much a little courage and a little recklessness can get you. Nora silently cheers herself on. Maybe if she keeps this up, she will beat the game and get back to real life in no time (is that how this system works? She has no idea). So far, she has been getting by mostly by hiding inside safe zones, watching for monsters and rushing through floors when there are no monsters nearby. She wasn't able to completely avoid combat altogether, and her supplies are quickly running low from the few monster encounters she has had. On Floor 8, her supplies have reached a tipping point and she will need to restock soon, if she wants to continue relying on the health potion and teleportation stone strategy.

"Ah...this is nerve wrecking. Where can I even collect materials? Where is the information center on this floor?" Nora quietly spoke to herself.

"You want materials? Little Eden is where you want to be." A voice spoke from behind Nora.

"EK!!!!" Nora shrieks and quickly turns around. She immediately backs up a few steps out of instinct only to find a kind-looking gardener??? smiling back at her.

"Ops, did I scare you? You look a little lost so I thought I would come by and help out. Sorry I overheard what you were saying earlier, I meant no offense."

"No no no! It is completely my fault for overreacting." ....And for not hearing you coming so close to me...NPCs on this floor are so high leveled...Nora rubs the back of her neck out of embarrassment. She coughs quietly into her hand. "Hm...anyways, thanks for checking. Hm...you mention the Little Eden? I think...I might have heard of it on the first or second floor...?" Nora tries to search her memories from when she first started the game.

"Oh? You have?" The gardener's smile widens, there's a strange gleam in his eyes as he looks at Nora. "You didn't happen to take any chests out of the garden, have you?" the gardener whispers gently.

"Hm? En...no. I went there with a friend, but something came up and we had to get out quickly. I don't think we encountered a chest or anything like that. But it was a while back."

"Oh, that's a pity. Would you like to try again? I could take you there, it could be fun, there's a lot of materials there, you could trade them for potions at alchemy shops on this floor if you want."

"Yes, that sounds great...." Nora continued to rub her neck. This NPC is very helpful, and perhaps all NPCs are like that. But something about this eagerness to help is making her nervous, maybe it is her social anxiety acting up again. Nora looked around, and then she spotted another player with purple hair.

"Hm...Ms.! Sorry to bother you. We are about to head out collecting materials at a great location, and we need another member. Would you be interested in farming for some materials?" Nora calls out.

The gardener turns around to look at the new player.

    @Nari-Lanreth

  15. Finally!! Someone accepted the quest! Nora claps her hands together in excitement. "Wonderful! You have no idea how much this will help. I am Nora and this is Zamek. Um...Zamek, do you want to find another teammate or are we OK setting out by ourselves now?" Nora asked hesitantly. She could only approach strangers so many times per day, and by the look of it, she had already reached her daily quota.

Zamek frowned and looked up at the sky. Nora looked up at the sky as well. She thinks that she sort of gets his concern. He would probably feel more secure with more bodyguards, I guess, but we are approaching noon soon. When Nora reached floor 5, it was in the early morning. However, by traveling back to the main settlement and walking around aimlessly trying to find a teammate, they probably wasted a good couple of hours already. Time is valuable here on the fifth floor. When it gets dark, it gets very very cold and it would be very hard to figure out the direction in the desert, what with the lack of land marks and what not. It could be dangerous, there will be monsters active during the night time and they will be at a disadvantage fighting in the dark. If they set out to find more teammates, they risk not finding anyone and waste even more valuable time. If this treasure is as important to Zamek as he claims to be, he would want to retrieve it as soon as possible and probably wouldn't want to waste another day at the settlement. If they start now, they can still make it back before nightfall, if the place is close enough and if they are lucky enough to not encounter any monsters.

Nora slaps Zamek in the back gently. "Alright Zamek, I think we have enough fire power to set out now. It is floor 5, it shouldn't be that hard. I trust you know the way? Please lead." She then turns to Yona. "I came to "this place" quite some time ago, but because I was a coward and hid in the safe zone, I truly don't know as much as I should be. I think I remember how to set up a party?" She clicks a few times, her transparent screen lights up, hopefully that sets up the party. "I hope we can work together and complete this mission smoothly. Right, Zamek? Zamke..? Wait for me...!"

Nora turns around to find Zamek already heading out towards the desert, clearly getting impatient with all the standing round. Nora hurried to catch up with him. Once she steps out into the desert, a strong gasp of wind blows across the desert plain, rearranging the desert sand. A white-tailed eagle takes off high into the sky. Nora blinks a few times to get used to the blinding sunlight and raises a hand to cover her face from the wind. "Are you ready?" She asks Yona over the wind.

    @Yona

  16. After a long journey through floor 2, Nora finally gathers enough courage to venture further into the world of SAO. She wants to push her limits as far as she can, so she keeps climbing the floors. Skipping floor 4 and heading directly towards floor 5, where she was stopped in her track by the unforgiving desert wind and sand. She took a sharp deep breath and for a moment, she questioned herself about whether she was actually ready for this floor. She was on this floor once before, but with the protection of a much more veteran player, it had seemed safe then. But now that she is on her own, everything seems more scary than before and she was, for a moment, unsure of herself. She briefly considered heading back to the main settlement, when she heard a voice calling out to her.

    ----the quest----

"Are you an adventurer?" You turn to see a man with a long, white beard and a slight hunch to his back. Despite being wrapped in a heavy wool cloak, unusual given the floor's hot climate, his entire body shakes. "I am terribly sorry to bother you, but I need help. I-" the NPC, whose name appears to be Zamek, coughs violently for a moment. After a few long, shaky breaths, he continues. "I have a treasure chest of sorts, buried in the desert, at the base of some uniquely shaped rocks. The contents are incredibly important to me, but I am too ill to make the journey alone. Would you escort me there? Though I cannot offer you much col.  But, should you offer your assistance, I would be eternally grateful."

    ---------

    A quest!!

That is exactly what she needed, something to get her familiarized with this floor and also get some rewards along the way.

"Of course! I would be glad to help. Sir, you can call me Nora. How should I address you?" Nora inquired politely.

"You may call me Zamek...hm...young lady, I'm grateful for you to offer your help, but the desert is a harsh place. Do you have a teammate? I will feel more comfortable if we travel in a group."

A team...that's...that actually sounded like a great idea, and the more logical solution. After all, I am still new at this. I don't think I could protect this gentleman on my own. But I don't know anyone on this floor...

"Hm...I don't have a teammate yet, but could we go back to the main settlement? I'm sure there will be lots of people willing to help?"

Zamek did not look pleased with Nora's response, but because there was no one else nearby, he hesitantly agreed to come back to the main settlement with Nora.

Truth to be told, Nora thought that she had this in a bag. Surely, finding a teammate wouldn't be an issue, there's always lots of players on the first and second floors willing to help. But Nora underestimated the desert. Apparently, it was an unpopular place. Having walked around the main road and finding no one wanting to take on the mission, Nora was feeling a bit discouraged. She spotted a young lady leaning against the city wall and hesitantly approached her and the simple act seemed to take the last of the social battery out of her.

"Good morning...hm....sorry to bother you. This gentleman over here has a treasure chest buried in the desert. It is very important to him. I'm too new to escort him by myself. Would you be willing to join us on this mission? We could split the rewards 50/50." Well, there's probably a more tactical way of putting out the request. Unfortunately, being sociable happens to be one of Nora's weak points. She will have to hear the response to see where to go next.

  17. Nora was in such a hurry in the morning, that she did not check the results of her earlier crafting. Now that she has officially opened for business, it is time for her to check her stocks. To her surprise, she has crafted a Crafter's Respite earlier today. What luck! This could reset her daily crafting limit and help her level up faster. She briefly consider selling the item, it will surely be popular among the causal players, but she sort of kind of want to use it for herself too. After debating with herself for a while, she ends up deciding to use it now and craft some more. It must have been her lucky day, since she crafted another crafter's respite, but since her daily limit has been reached. She carefully store the respite to the back cabinet so that she could use it again tomorrow.

  18. The shop ring chimed as someone walked into the shop. The person took one look at the newly posted "sale" sign just a moment ago and declared that they would take the entire stock of unidentified items. That was a really big order for Nora. Her eyes opened wide as she couldn't believe that she would make such a big sale today. "Wow sir! You have great taste, and you have just become my biggest client!" Nora hurried to grab the packaging boxes and bags for the customer and pack the items as neatly as she could. "That's 100 col per item, and 1200 col in total, thank you for your business! If you see anything else you like, the prices are negotiable as well!" Nora hands the items to the customer, this is a great day for her business.

  19. Nora returned from her extended trip to the other floor. When she returned, she immediately noticed some letters left on the desk by some customers whom she had missed. "Oh Shit!!!" Nora exclaimed in horror. She had been waiting for a customer for so long, and when she finally got them, she was not in the shop to treat them. She noticed the generous gift left by Kityuisa and the order from Randal. She wanted to thank Kityuisa for her gift as it just helped her reach her dream of buying an apartment and wanted to reach out to Randal to complete the transaction, but it had been so long since they left the letters that Nora could no longer find them. Nora sighed, it was just her luck, she had wanted some customers for so long and this happened. She immediately gets back to crafting, secretly promising herself that she's going to fulfil the next order for sure!
