  1. It seemed his hissing at the mobs had the expected effect, which was none at all, so Kana gritted his teeth and pushed himself up again, making sure he had an eye on the two wolves, while he did so. He had just reached the state of standing again, as the first wolf jumped at him with a threatening growl leaving its fanged yaws. For a short moment, it seemed time had frozen, while Kana looked into the glowing eyes of the beast and felt his heart beating faster, then everything got back to normal, and he used the stone he had stumbled into before, to push away from and briefly avoid the mobs attack.

The second one had waited for an opportunity like this, and swiftly rushed in, as Kanas back was turned towards it, but the cruel fangs got blocked by the heavy armor, saving Kanas HP from dropping any further. The wolf let go of the arm it had bitten into, and Kana kicked it with the heavy leather boots, that had been part of his adventuring outfit. It yelped out, before turning again, snarling as slobber dripped down from it's face. Once again, Kana had an eye on both of them, and made sure he wouldn't let them make an attack again. So before the wolves would have any time to coordinate further attacks, he released a sword art, that made him weave a multitude of swinging attacks into a wide area attack, that landed multiple blows on both mobs and reduced their HP to Zero.

With them exploding into pixels, he took a deep breath, happy to have handled the nightly attack so well, and accepted the loot, once the popup appeared. The loot was not to shabby, as he had gained more than halve a thousand col, some materials and collection of wolf tooth trinkets he had to identify to find out, what they did.

  2. Kana was happy, that he was out in the green fields with these two lovely companions, as he wasn't a huge fan of gathering quests. He had never liked this type of quest design in normal video games, and not being able to hover the mouse over material deposits that were designed to look really different from the rest of the game world, to see if it was lootable didn't help this disposition. So when Almina started talking about what she thought, he was sure she must have played quite an amount of other games, to come to an understanding of the underlying system. "That sounds like it should be true for this world as well. I just wished, I could see those properties to make it easier to find what we are searching." before he continued, he pulled out the plant he had gathered so far and showed it to the others "This is one of those, I already got lucky and found something, so if you see plants like them, take them".

The next minutes he started to rush from bush to bush and from tree to tree, hoping to find something like the plant he had found, or maybe some berries or apples, but he wasn't lucky this time. Soon he started to get frustrated and randomly kicked some stones lying around. When he hit on, that was the tip of a larger one, he stumbled, as a text appeared, calling it an immovable object. "Nice one game, I understand and will stop" he mumbled with a frown on his face that didn't leave until he looked at the others wandering around.

  3. As the three wolves had attacked him, and he had more or less stood his ground without getting damaged to badly, Kana took a moment to scout his fighting grounds. He was in the valley and the area he was rushing through, while the wolves followed him, flanking him from both sides, was stony and had little else to use. Just as one of the wolves reached him again, Kana made a big step for one of the stones and using as much power as possible, used it to jump back into the other direction. The wolf that had not been ready for this rammed into the stone, whimpering a little. But Kana was far from done, as the other two wolves turned to jump him. He turned on his heel, spinning around himself, as they attacked. His sword started glowing and just as the first one reached him, he released the sword art. The glowing sword cut through air, as it did through the first of the wolves, that instantly exploded into colorful pixels.

The other wolf that had jumped somehow managed to evade the blade, and as Kana was still turning around himself, Monarch extended to cover as much area with cutting force, the monster tackled him from underneath and sent him flying. The glow of the attack dissipated, and he landed hardly, hitting one of the many stones that lay sprinkled around the valley . With a growl in his throat, the wolf closed in, and the second one that had hit the rock joined in. Their glowing eyes sparkled with the joy of the hunt, and Kana hissed at them "Don't you dare! I won't die by some silly dogs!"

  4. Once the light started fading, Kana started to feel uncomfortable. It was his first night outside of a save zone, and he wasn't sure, what awaited him. Sure, there were mobs roaming around, he had seen some wolves just this afternoon, but what made him even more worried was the fact, that he had heard of players killing other players, and outside the savezone, nothing would protect him from a high level player deciding it would be fun to kill him. With the ever increasing darkness, Kanas thoughts started spiraling downwards towards a point where he wasn't sure if he could handle them anymore. He began shaking, and it wasn't from the cold, as the temperature was still quite warm, and it felt like he was turning around.

Then a sound pulled him from his thoughts, his whole body twitched, and he stared into the darkness, that slowly faded into a silvery twilight as the artificial imagery of a moon appeared behind some clouds. There was movement just a few yards away from his tent, and it came closer. Soon he saw the shapes of three dark grey wolves  that circled his camping area, and Kanas hands wandered to the hilt of his sword. He gripped it so had, his knuckles became white, and in a swift movement, he charged out of the tent, using this surprising movement to strike at one of the wolves, but his swing went wide, when the monster reacted faster than anticipated.

To Kana it seemed as if the wolf sidestepped him with a single movement, and followed this by landing a barrage of attacks with his claws, that luckily just scraped his armor and dealt next to no damage. As the fight had started, the other two wolves didn't wait for him to react and quickly rushed in, trying to bit and claw at him, but he was able to protect against one of them, using the sword and his armor tanking most of the others attack, so he was alive with minimum damage, circled by the three.

  5. It had taken the best of the afternoon for Kana to reach the more mountainous region the village of <<Horunka>> was situated in, and he still wasn't even able to see the smaller village, so he opened the map to have a look at his position. If his reading of the map was right, he would have to travel another four to five hours to reach it, and from there it would be two or so hours to find the rivers he was looking for. "I could continue onward and might be able to reach the village not to long after dark." he mumbled, as he tried to decide, whether he would continue walking, or search for some place to rest the night. Just as he had said that, a sound caught his attention, and a few moments later, it was heard again.

A howling echoed through the valley he was looking into, and he was able to see some mobs on the other side, quickly disappearing between some rocks and brushed. He wasn't sure, if what he had seen were wolfs, but from the howl he concluded so. The knowledge that there might be a pack of aggressive mobs wandering about made the idea of walking through the darkness less appealing, and soon he accepted his fate and said "Well, seems like using the night for some more walking is of the table. I should start looking for a defend-able  position to rest this night" to himself. He quickly left the position on top of the hill, as it gave away where he was, and moved between rocks, brushes and the crippled trees that grew around them to cover his track as much as possible. While he was crouching through some bushes, he was sure he had seen a collection of rocks that reminded him of the depiction of ore he had seen in school, but when he tried to loot it, he had to accept they were just ordinary rocks.

Over the course of half an hour, Kana had made his way to the valleys grounds, and towards a formation of rocks, that would allow him to get some rest, while protected from three sides. He just had to keep an eye out for enemies that would enter through the fallen rocks that looked like a doorway. With this place secured for him, he opened the inventory and pulled put the tent he had bought on his way out of town and placed it among the stony ground, getting ready for an interesting night.

  6. The sun had crossed the highest point some time ago, and it must have been a little in the afternoon, when Kana stopped again, this time he decided, that he wouldn't give up as easy as before. The determination to make this trip worthwhile stopped him from simply continuing onward, and so he looked for the next tree and soon he was standing next to it. It was a beautifully grown apple tree, even though there were no fruits at the moment, and its branches where big enough for him to climb the tree with ease. From up there he had a good view over the surrounding hills, so he let his gaze wander about, searching for somewhere, where he had a good chance at finding some materials, but it seemed the area was devoid of anything that could be useful for him.

The bushes he crossed afterwards had nothing that captured his attention, and besides a few boar type mobs, there was absolutely nothing of interest in the area. Kana sighted, slowly shook his head and headed on, wondering if he should stop searching for materials until he reached a creek or something, where he could use his increased fishing skill to maybe find something useful. On the other hand, fishing took time, and he had a quest to fulfill that would take him a long time even without him looking around and fishing.

  7. Once both girls had accepted his party invitation, Kana smiled at them, happy to have such nice company. He hadn't been great with people out in the real world, and all the time in the Town of Beginnings hadn't had helped him with this, so this felt really like something special. But the moment went by fast, and they returned to the quest at hand. Almina mentioned that thought the quest probably was created in a way, that they had to do smaller tasks for all those people that might have had the money, and once they followed Akiko to the Alchemists Shop, it was clear that she was right. The elderly looking alchemist with his long hair didn't even let them ask about the money, before he asked them to collect some materials and maybe craft some potions, which triggered the questlog to update and the new quest read:

    <<Zackariah's Materials>>
Leave the town and gather materials to use and craft some potions
    Material gathered: 0/5
    Potion crafted 0/1

Kana quickly read the updated quest info and without waiting for the others confirmation he answered "We aren't here to order potions, but it doesn't hurt having some more potions on hand, so we'll accept your offer." The man's smile grew even wider, as he sent them back out of his laboratory. Looking at the others, Kana opened the map to see where the next exit was, and made his way towards the towns exit, asking them to follow.

The gate that lead out of town was huge enough for ten people to walk next to each other, and Kana felt small as he left the town once more. In front of them were the green flats and small hills, that surrounded the Town of Beginnings, and not to far from where they were, the first mob could be seen. These boars were passive mobs, so there was no danger from them, as long, as the party wouldn't attack them, and even if they attacked, Kana knew his armor was strong enough to reduce the incoming damage to nearly zero. His gaze wandered around, looking for some place that looked like it would hold materials usable for brewing potions, and indeed there was a group of young trees not to far away. "Look over there, this seems to be a good place to start our hunt for what ever we find to put into potions. Does anyone of you know, what exactly we are searching?" He asked, as he lead the group there, looking for plants and soon found a flower that started to glow in his vision, showing him that it was lootable. Once he picked it up, the quest updated to

  8. He was all ears, when Hirru told him about the desert floor and the ruins that lay scattered around the place, waiting for adventurers to delve into them and find what ancient weapons and equipment there would be. In his mind, he imagined a desert, as he had seen in TV with meter high dunes and sand as far as he could see, only disrupted by what could have been the steeple of some ancient temple. "This floor sounds like quite the adventure and might be worth me looking into it. I have never been to a desert and it wouldn't be top priority in the real world, but here it sounds like a solid choice" But he was sure, there would be some more training to get through, before he could take on anything on that floor.

When Hirru mentioned that one needed luck to find a dungeon, and it didn't even matter, if one died to the environmental damage, Kana looked at him a little quizzed, as he had not seen any environmental damage effects by then. "What do you mean by surviving the desert's environmental damage? Is there something like a thirst effect one has to drink against, or did I miss understand you?" he asked, and was so excited to hear, what the veteran adventurer had to tell him about the challenges for him to face, that he missed how the float disappeared and reappeared half a minute later with the bait stolen.

  9. Kana was listening what Hirru had to say, and with every word about the vast area of floors for him to discover, his eyes seemed to light up a little. He knew those upper floors would be dangerous, and that there still was much to do to complete the game, with them being at floor 27 right now, but it seemed so exciting. So when Hirru metntioned him testing the waters, he nodded and replied "That's about right. I need to become stronger before I leave this floor. I wouldn't want to move up, just to get killed by whatever. So I will complete the few quests there are down here, and then I'll move up the floors."

With this statement, he took the rod and placed another bit of bait, before casting out the rod and watching the float drifting across the water, imagining what type of floor this fifth floor could be, that there were treasure hunts going on. Maybe it was covered in ancient ruins he thought, but just as he was about to ask Hirru, the float dove under water. Quickly he pulled and reeled in the string, but the float did not appear again, instead his rod began bending, and soon Kana feared it would break, so he let go of the string, and with a bow like sound, the rod became straight again. The hook had to be stuck under some rocks or something the thought and with a sigh he cut the string. "Seems my Luck is just as miserable as yours" he said, then added "But I don't really care for that at the moment. Tell me what the fifth floor is about. Why were you doing treasure hunts there?"

  10. Kana had been to excited to try out the newly gained fishing skill, so hadn't answered right away, but now that he was sitting there again, all wet from wading into the river, he turned his head to look up at the ceiling and then slowly nodded. It was strange to see the upper floors above instead of the sky, but by now he had accepted that this was how it would be until they managed to leave the game. "Do you know what's up there? I've never left this floor, but I guess you have been travelling the floors before." Kana asked, his mind wandering through what he imagined the upper floors would look like. In front of his inner eye he saw tall mountains, searing deserts and he imagined a floor that was covered in water like an ocean, only allowing players to stay on islands that were connected by floating bridges.

This daydreaming took multiple minutes and in the end, he was really excited to become stronger and travel to the places he had imagined by himself, not knowing if this actually was what would await him, he once again turned to the jade haired player "I sure will train to see them with my own eyes, the upper floors I mean. And I will try not to exhaust myself."

Before he could dwell in some more daydreaming, Hirru caught up his own treasure chest, even though it disintegrated the moment he reeled it in, and the contents spilled around them. "Seems you got some treasure yourself, so whats with your luck being finicky?" he asked, then casting out his own line to see if his luck was consistent with the first attempt, or if it just had been beginner's luck. The float hadn't even been able to stabilize after hitting the water, when it disappeared below the surface and Kana had to quickly reel in the line, fighting against what had been caught on the hook. Just a few moments later, he pulled out a trout from the water, catching it with the second hand and accepting the option to place it in his inventory.

  11. While he made his way out the western gate, leaving the Town of Beginning on the trail that would finally lead him to <<Horunka>>, he equipped the heavy armor, completing his adventure look. The sword on his side would not see use for some time, or at least that was what he hoped for at that moment. Sure he could have started the trip with some fighting, but he already had found out, that fighting quickly drained his energy, and he was sure he would need all the energy he had for travelling. So he started walking, following the path and every once in a while he opened the map to check if he was still on the right track.

As time went by, he started getting less aware of his surroundings, as his mind wandered around the random thoughts and memories from the past. There he was as a small boy, leaving for a school  camping trip. This had been the first time he had spent more than the normal schools time away from home, being on the trip for four full days, and he had felt ill, or as he now knew, home sick. Since then, much time had passed, and he had left the small rice farming village he was raised to live in the next bigger city and make his own future. "Well, that has worked out really well, didn't it!" he said, knowing that there was no one there to hear it as regret for ever entering this death game took him. His gaze dropped to the ground in front of him, and for a short moment he stopped, unsure, if he should continue what he was doing, but shortly after, his determination came back and he continued onward in following the path.

A few more hours went by with him walking and daydreaming, not really caring about the environment he was travelling through, but when the flats slowly began rising, making place for hills covered in shrubbery and smaller trees, he stopped and looked around. Leaving the path to examine the possible lootable  areas around, he had to find that his perception wasn't that high yet, and no matter the focus he used, he was not able to find anything he or the system would lable useful, so after about half an hour he continued with following the path

  12. A smile crept onto Kanas face, when he saw the recognition in Hirrus face as he came closer, and when the jade haired man asked him if he was right with the name, he nodded and smiled even more. "You're right, Kana's the name, so no need to apologize." he said, and moved closer to sit down next to Hirru. He had just sit down, when Hirru reeled in the line, noting that nothing had bitten and the bait had been taken, he answered his question. "Well, I went out to do some training with the new equipment I got, maybe fighting some of the boars, but now that I see you fishing, I would love to join, if it's not a problem for you?"

Not really waiting for a response, he opened his inventory and quickly pulled out the fishing rod he had been given when he had finished his first quest. It wasn't anything special, and he was thinking about getting a better one made, but for now it was all he needed. Quickly he prepared some bait and cast the line and watched the float hit the water and stabilizing after the initial impact. Ready to wait he turned to Hirru, but before he could ask him anything, he noticed a jerk on the rod and quickly pulled it up, or at least he tried to. What ever it was, it was strong, and he had his problems reeling in the line.

He had managed to pull it close to the rivers edge, when it bulled again, and he stumbled into the water with a scream of surprise. Once in the water, he realized it wasn't even knee high where he had landed and he quickly stood back up, grabbing what he had caught, just to once again be surprised. What he held in Hand wasn't a fish, but some kind of chest that had lodged itself against some of the rivers stones. Pulling and turning it, he finally got it free and raised it from the water, "Look at that, I think I found treasure." he excitedly told Hirru while climbing back onto dry land.
Still panting from the weight, and the cold water he had fallen into, he dropped to the ground and had a closer look at the chest he had just found. Then he realized that it seemed to not be locked, and quickly opened it to be greeted with a loot popup, telling him he had found two rare weapons and two rare consumable, all four of them not identified. With a smile on his face, he turned to Hirru and stated "Seems I got a new Job for you, once we're done fishing."

  13. With the new <<River Stone Delivery>> quest in his log, Kana had to rethink his plans for the coming days and where would be a better place for that, than in one of the street cafes that were littered around the main plaza. So quickly he walked through the increasingly gathering crowd, before to many other players would fill the place. With a thoughtful expression on his face and one hand gliding through his long black hair, he sat down at the next table and once again opened the map, using his experience with the fisher hut to find out how far it would be to reach the quests destination. The shock on his face, when he realized that it would be a trip worth one or maybe even two days, just to reach the <<Stone Valley>>, scared the young waitress, but she soon managed to regain her composure and asked him what he wanted.

About an hour later, Kana was done running from one shop to the next to gather the adventuring gear he would take with him. His inventory now held a collection of standard items, including rope, torches and enough food for a full week besides a bedroll and a simple tent he could use to sleep out in the wilds, in case he wouldn't reach the village <<Horunka>> he had found on the map quite close to where he was going. He further had managed to find out, that there was the possibility to use transportation systems to travel to the village, but he wasn't all that sure about using a horse. Not to mention his distaste in taking the short route for one of his first adventures.
He would not be one of those adventurers that became strong on the back of others he thought, imagining how hard travel must have been for the first players to venture out, equipped with nothing more than starter equipment. I will for sure show this silly game, that I can become strong on my own.

  14. It was early in the morning , the sun hadn't risen high enough for the first sunlight to enter Kanas room, when he woke up, rubbed the sleep from his eyes and with a big yawn and a cracking stretch stood up from his bed in the Smashed Apple. Ha had a quick glance at the surrounding room, just to check that everything was fine, and when he noticed nothing out of the ordinary he nodded to himself, and walked over to the small table. Before he sat down, he quickly opened the menu to change into his gear, even though he omitted equipping the heavy armor and instead equipped the dark green uniform jacket he wore when he was heading into town. Once the equipment had changed, he sat down and produced a collection of rolls and hard sausages for breakfast, quickly gobbling it up.

Ready to leave the inn, he left the room and passed the huge room that was reserved for breakfast, noticing that it was still empty and not even the barkeep was anywhere to be seen. Quickly he made his way to the central area of the Town of Beginnings, and started wandering around, looking for something to do that day, and soon enough, he noticed a golden exclamation point hovering above one of the many bulletin boards that were scattered around the huge plaza. "Well, seems I might be lucky and just found me something interesting to do for today" he mumbled to himself, while he made his way over to the board. The moment he looked at it, he noticed a parchment filled with text, but before he could read it, a popup appeared in front of him, telling him the basics and asking him to accept the quest.

    <<River Stone Delivery>>

The towns artisan guild is in dire need of aquamarin river stones for their upcoming project.
Venture to the <<Stone Valley>> and retrieve five <<Aquamarin River Rocks>> from the rivers filled by the great waterfall.

    Rewards: Col + Exp

    Accept: Yes / No

That for sure sounded more interesting than going out for another day of hunting boars in the fields around town, so he pressed accept and the quest appeared in his quest log, the first objective to accomplish was to travel to the <<Stone Valley>> and once he opened the map, he saw the golden exclamation point noting where he had to go. Another one, still grey at the moment was located even further away marked the waterfall that was filling the valleys rivers. The last point that had gotten marked was back in the town of beginnings, marking the artisans guilds hall just a few hundred meters away from Kana.

  15. Kana had been watching the major with his stylish beard and monocle, while he had told them about the quest and soon enough a quest popup had appeared in front of him. He was just ready to accept, when he noticed another player jumping - he furrowed his brow for a moment, thinking that that was kind of strange - right next to them. The Girl wore an outfit that would have been a good fit for a normal day in the city, but seemed out of place to him now, as it didn't have any fantasy aesthetics at all, and he wondered where he could get normal outside world cloths like that, but then his train of thoughts returned to the strange appearing of the girl.

Soon enough she introduced herself as Almina and asked them if they were okay with her tagging along. So she must have listened in on the major giving them the strange quest, and Kana wasn't seeing any way having another player come along would hurt, so when Akiko said that he was the one to decide, he smiled and greeted her, sending a party invite. "Nice to meet you Almina, I'm Kana, so ignore the name above my head spelling Kanaoki." he smirked a little and added "So let's go and get some questing done. Who wouldn't love being the loan enforcer for his first quest ever?" With this said, he thought a little more about the oddity that was the quest they had just accepted, and soon enough he noticed the quest log had some more information, telling them to look for some guy called Zackariah, just as the major once again raises his voice and said "Excellent, I knew I could count on you! You might start with Zackariah, the alchemist. He's often doing projects for the town, so it may have been him that borrowed the money."

Well, with that said, it was no surprise, the information had been in the quest log, and by looking at the map that was attached to the quest, Kana quickly found the way they would have to take to reach this Zackariah guy, so he turned to the others, noticing that he had a notification, telling him that Akiko had accepted the trade request he had made earlier. With a single head shake he looked at Akiko, who now was the owner of a spooky looking butchers axe, and ignored what he had just been about to say, to instead ask both of the girls, if they were ready to go.

  16. Since he had started adventuring about two weeks ago, Kana had started to get into the daily routine of leaving the town of beginnings as early as possible and stroll around the fields, enjoying the sight of the fog illuminating to a glowing orange that looked a little, like the plains were on fire. After watching this spectacle, he would stroll around, looking for some solitary boars to slay, or material spawns to gather. To him it was strange, how quick it had become natural to fight, when he had been scared to leave town just a few weeks, but he assumed this was how it went, once one realized how powerful the game really made them.

Sure, he was wearing heavy armor to protect himself, but even more so, he had the feeling of having power. An armor like his would have been heavy, most probably to heavy for his real world self to wear it and still run around, but here, it was nothing but a piece of equipment, that merely was able to slow him down. Thinking about that, he moved his arms and looked at the new, dark silver looking armor he had gained from his first adventure and marveled at the way, the orange light of the morning sun was reflecting of it. He nodded and closed his eyes for a moment, the he opened them again and started marching away from the town.

His walk lead him to one of the other towns of floor one, situated closer to the mountains than he had ever wandered, and he was curious to see, what kind of landscape and environment would wait for him to explore. So he started wandering around, having a closer look at some of the local plants, when his path crossed a river that was to broad to cross right there, so instead he started following it and soon after, he notices a figure sitting close to the river holding something. The moment he is close enough to make it out, he facepalmed himself, or at least he thought about it. Obviously, it was a fishing rod the player was holding, what else should it be.
As he had gotten the fishery profession, when he had completed the first quest he ever did, he was looking forwards to talking about it with whom ever it was sitting there, and once he noticed the jade green hair, he had the strange realization, that he had met the man that was sitting there before, but it took a few more seconds for him to remember where this had happened. Once it clicked, and he recognized the man as the appraiser, that had identified the armor he was wearing just then, he walked over to him and greeted him "Hello Hirru, nice meeting you again. What are you doing out here?"

  17. As Akiko asked him, if he was sure, he nodded and smiled at her, answering her question with a simple "Don't worry, it's not like there are many players who would by something like it. And those that could use it probably have just as little money as we do."
The next thing he saw was the small woman jumping up and down and rushing in for a hug, that was to fast for him to really react to. He was to say something, but she had already turned around and walked out the door, asking him to follow her.

As they had planned to go out and get some basic questing done, he soon followed her into the still empty streets. The air was fresh and he let out a yawn, as he stretched his armes and looked around, wondering where they would find this quest Akiko had talked about. Not sure where to go next, he opened his inventory and a moment later a book appeared in his hand. This was the players guide some higher level players had created, and as it was a collection of information for newer players it should hold the information he needed. Quickly skimming through the quest part of the guide, he found out, that there was an NPC giving out the quest, wandering the area around one of the smaller parks. "Okay, I found where we need to go" he informed Akiko and signed her to follow him.

They had to cross quite some distance within the Town of Beginnings, but soon they reached the small park with the fancy looking fountain, and before the could start the search for the NPC, he had already found them. The stylish clothed man approached them with long, purposeful strides, calling out "You there! Stop, please!" followed by a  "Pardon me, but I am in need of some assistance, and you appear quite capable." Kana immediately stops and looks for the voices source, and as soon a she sees the man, the man heaves a quick sigh, adjusts the monocle over his right eye and continues. "My name is Dorian, and I am the mayor of this town. As part of those mayoral duties, I issued a small loan to a member of the community a few months ago. Well, the time to collect had come around and I-" Flustered, Dorian systematically ran his fingers over his perfect mustache.

  18. While eating his breakfast he listened to Akiko, who told him he hadn't had any more bacon to begin with, but he was quite sure she had stolen some of his plate. But that wasn't a major concern, as the food was still just of the basic npc made kind. He was okay with the somewhat bland taste of it, but he had heard, that players that learned the cooking profession could actually create food that tasted as good as real one. While thinking about that, his mind wandered and he saw all the good food he missed from the real world, but his daydreaming was interrupted, when Akiko asked him, if he had found a job. Kana was quite confused, as he hadn't heard what she was referring to, so he shook his head and took a moment to think about what it could have been. Then it clicked, and when she started to stand up, definitely waiting for him, he got up too and finally said. "Okay, let's get going to get this quest. And in regards to the good news I got for you." he paused just a moment and continued, "I went on my first adventure last week, and I got some loot, which included an axe. I can't really use it with the skill I picked, but you got an axe for starter gear, so I thought you might like it. I just have to go and grab it from the appraiser to see what it does"

  19. Kana watched the jade haired man, as he introduced himself. When the man then continued to tell him, that he would identify the items for free, Kana was nearly jumping from excitement, but he managed to stay calm. He had feared, that the service of someone of high rank in his profession would be expensive and he hadn't gathered a great amount of founds, so it was nearly perfect.
With a huge smile covering his face, he replied "Thank you very much, that's great news. I'm sure I'll return for you with more items to identify, and pay for your service the next time."

Then he watched the man, as he took the items and did something to them, just to tell him that they had great stats, and that he would fly past tier one in no time. Once again, Kana had to restrain himself from jumping around in excitement, as this was what he hoped. So for a moment he stared at the floor, and when he had control over his face, he took the items and added "Thanks for your services. And it's nice to know you think so. I hope I'll do as you say, as I really want to get strong and have a chance at helping clear the game. I've lost to much time already, but now I'm good to go."

  20. "Oh, nice. I did the same about a week ago." Kana said, doing a little pose so she could get a better view of his new equipment. Then he added "I don't know about this quest, but I was going for some adventuring myself, so why not. And if there really is a quest like that, gaining a little bonus experience while stocking up on materials sounds good." And just like that, his plans had changed from simply walking out and getting a better understanding of the battle mechanics to a full on quest with a friend. He was just thinking how lucky he was, when he noticed some movement on his plate and was to slow to stop Akiko from stealing part of his breakfast.

He released a sigh, his brown eyes rolling as he looked into Akikos played innocent face and shrugged, before he finally answered "That's not so nice of you. You can't just take my bacon and believe I wouldn't notice it. But aside from that, I would be happy to join you for this adventure. And I even got some more good news for you." The last part, he added after a short pause, and with a smile in his face. But before he would tell her, what that surprise could be, he had to eat his breakfast, so he started with the scrambled eggs and some toast, then he took the beacon that was left, and in the end he munched on the piece peanut butter jelly sandwich, she had placed on his plate, murmuring about how he didn't like sweet breakfast.

  21. Arriving in the taverns main room he was greeted by one of the few other players he had met regularly, and with a smirk he waved her a greeting. She has beaten me to being the first one again he thought, as he checked the clock again, just to be sure it really was that early. Whit a sigh he dropped on the chair next to Akiko and answered her good morning by saying "Good morning to you as well Akiko, and please stop calling me Kanaoki. Haven't I told you more than enough, that it's just Kana."

Then he turned his head to look towards the kitchen, and smiled as he saw Jaspers head peeking out. As he didn't want to call across the not to big room, he stood up again, walked over and asked the innkeeper "Jo Jasper, do you remember the soup I described to you last week? I'd really love if you could get the needed components, so we can have some of that this evening. And for now, how about some egg and bacon, I need a good basis for heading out today" and as he finished his order, he patted the sword at his hip. Then he returned to the table and once more turned his attention to Akiko, watching how she munched down on the pb&j sandwich she had ordered. For a moment he thought about how someone looking that cute and childlike could be in her mid twenties, but he quickly shook of those thoughts and instead asked "So, what's your plans for today? Anything special you're doing, or just the usual?"

  22. A huge yawn distorted his face, as he slowly opened his eyes. The curtains did a decent job at stopping the sunlight from entering his room, but a single ray sneaked its way through and managed to dazzle him, so he groaned and thought how nice it would be to have shutters. After turning away from the sunlight he took a glance at the clock that was situated in the righthand corner of his vision and sought.
It's late enough to stand up and go for a walk, and maybe I can get some breakfast, before moving out again. Level two is nice, but I have to grow stronger, if I want to do anything meaningful. he thought while slowly climbing out of his bed, cautious to not hit his head at the low ceiling. Once he was up, he quickly changed into his gear, using the equipment tab of the character menu, and had a look at the mirror to check if he looked like a respectable fighter.

The reflection that eyed him up, just a she did, looked good. The long black hair leaned onto its shoulders, framing the slender face, the wiry body covered by a heavy plate armor made from layers of dark grey pieces, accented by orange specs of rust that were part of the armors design. His left arm was left free, as if something had ripped this part of the armor, and the green jacket, that reminded him of his school uniform was visible here. On his hip a well crafted sword with blue accents appeared and he felt he was ready to leave for some adventuring and made his way out the door into the narrow hallway that led out of the Smashed Apple.

  23. Kana was just returning from his second ever trip outside the Town of Beginnings, when he noticed a green flickering in the darkness of the setting night. He wasn't sure, what it was, that made him follow the light, but it somehow just felt right, and when he reached it and saw the shop atop the wagon, he was delighted.
He had read about this shop, and even though he hadn't searched it, he had wares he wanted to get identified, so when the Merchant asked him about his needs, and he replied that he needed identification, he was lead behind the wagon.

"Nice to meet you, the names Kanaoki, or Kana for short, and I got this Heavy Armor and Armor I need identified. Am I right that you are the one who can do that?
And if I'm right, how much would this cost me?"

  25. On his way back to town, Kana started studying the landscape that surrounded him in far more detail than when he left, and noticed, that there were points, where brushes and stones seemed to be heaping up. To him this looked like some kind of spawnpoints for lootable material, so he strolled from cluster to cluster, but nothing seemed to be worth the effort of actually picking it up. None the less he tried once, but only got a notice, that he needed the forager profession to gather these materials. Disappointed by that, he opened the beginner guide from his inventory and started reading about gathering and finding materials, and while he had already tested most of the systems involved, the guide included a small chapter in regards of treasure chests and their spawn/hiding spots.

With this in mind he continued, looking for any of the markings and signs that had been added to the beginner guide, but he wasn't successful and decided, that he would go for a treasure hunt some other day, as it was becoming dark already, and he wasn't happy with staying out of town over night. Increasing his pacing, he quickly arrived at the western gate, where he had left the town in the morning, and entered the town. The voices of thousands of people slowly faded into his perception and he felt back at home.
With a grin on his face he made his way back to the tavern and decided he would go adventuring again.
