[F3:PP] Royal Jam (Endilix)

Recommended Posts

“Damn it… damn it… damn it…. [censored]” Mai cursed as she run as quickly as she could between the trees trying her best to dodge the  scenery as it came at her at full speed.

Mai knew she wasn’t supposed to wander off far. She knew Life hated it when she adventured in places she shouldn’t go without help. And she knew it was risky to come alone. That much was evident with two skeletons hot on her tail. There’d been four before, but she must’ve lost two of them as she ran off.

Shay had come to the woods of level three to hunt skeletons. Even though she knew they were a bit tougher than she was used to, she’d used her Blood of Champions in conjunction with a damage potion, stacking her damage to seven, which was more than double her normal damage capability. So far she’d managed to pick off the skeletons one by one, however she must’ve been hunting the area too long as more and more of them began to spawn quickly and soon they overtook her area. Since their numbers were greater than what she could handle, she could do only one thing:

RUN.

The raven haired girl pumped her legs as quickly as she could through the densely tree lined forest, her short pink kimono fluttering as she streaked through the woods trying to lose the skeletons. She could hear them creaking behind her as she ran and dared not look back as she feared crashing into the trees. The ground below her feet was uneven and slick from the wet decaying leaves beneath her feet. T was hard for her to focus on the ground below and her surrounds, so much so, that Shay did not notice a tree root sticking up too far off the ground and the young woman tripped, crashing down to the ground hard. Mai let out a squeal as her feet went out from under her and she near faceplanted into the soft forest floor. She pushed herself off the ground, her lovely kimono now covered in dirt and her hands and knees scraped up from her fall. Regaining her footing, Mai realized that it was too late to run, she was surrounded by too thick a wood to escape, and the skeletons were nearly upon her. She reached for her sword and quickly unsheathed Light Reaver, readying for incoming mobs as they bum rushed her.

Quiet day today on Floor Three. Endilix wandered the forest, looking mostly for clues that would lead him on the hunt for the Floor Three thieves gang. He hadn't had much luck, and often tended to forget just how large these floors really are and how many hidden things there really could be. Endilix sighed as he leaned on a nearby tree. His armor thumped against the wood, the brown plates shifting to accommodate his weight. He was in that dense part of the forest right now, that dark area where nobody can see the sun except through little holes between the leaves, and that suited Endilix just fine. It fit his current mood. Somber with a side of, "I wish I had something to do right now."

Almost in answer to his thoughts, Endilix suddenly heard a cry nearby. He was suddenly alert, and listened for another cry, perhaps one of help, but nothing came. He grunted, and readied his hammer and shield, before making off towards the direction of the sound. What he found both surprised, and intrigued him, as he stumbled into a grove with a wall of trees, a lovely woman in a kimono backed into it. But she wasn't unprepared, as she had a sword drawn and readied against the two skeletons who faced her down. Not one to leave a damsel in distress, Endilix smiled, and gave a roar, drawing the attention of the two creatures as their heads swiveled around on their spines. Endilix made a face at the grotesque scene of the skeletons turning their heads around, but as they turned to face him he smiled.

"Madam, do you need assistance? I'm happy to offer my shield," he said with a chuckle, as he held up the gaudy, but effective, pumpkin top that served as his personal barrier against the beasts, and readied himself for incoming blows.

The skeletons were closing in and Mai gripped at her blade so tightly, her little knuckles went white. Her heart raced in her chest as her heart thumped wildly causing Mai’s breaths to become shallow and irregular. As they marched in closer and closer, a deep roar sounded from behind and her eyes shifted from the creatures before her to the figure behind. There, a young man with bright emerald green eyes and flowing red locks stood there drawing the mobs attention, asking if Mai needed assistance. The figure was a welcome sight as she wasn’t sure she could even defend herself against two monsters.

“Please!” She yapped and smiled brightly, relieved to see a friendly face. If she had to fight alone, she probably would not make it home to Life that night, and her love would’ve be quite alone once more.

She could not have that.

The skeletons turned and moved toward the young man and that’s when Mayuri took her chance to strike.

MAI HITS BOTH SKELETON GUARDS FOR 1 DMG EACH

Mai had never once tried to use her AoE movement, but with both of the monsters going after the young man who’d come to her aid, she had no choice but to try and attack using <<Fell Crescent>>. Mai charged at the two figures as she unleashed a downward strike upon the monsters. Her aim was off slightly, but her <<Concentration>> skill kicked in just at the last second. Her blade connected with the things but their damage counters barely fell.

“I CAN’T HIT THEM!” Mai exasperatedly shouted at the young man.

“My Reaver doesn’t do anything!”

She didn’t even notice a tiny sliver of the creature’s HP fall because it was so miniscule a difference.

“OHHHH…” she squealed, “Please be careful!”

Endilix watched as the skeletons shambled towards him, their teeth chattering incessantly, as if they were gibbering at the man who had interrupted their supposed banquet. Not that he could blame the skeletons, the girl was lovely, though they seemed to be after her for decidedly different reasons. Endilix shrugged as he watched the girl cut into the skeletons, but their old, ragged armor seemed to block most of the damage. He saw it drop minimally and sighed a bit to himself. This is going to be a long fight, Endilix. Steel yourself, he thought to himself as he lifted his shield and managed to easily block the slow, lazy swings of the skeletons.

Endilix lowered his shield and said, "Nothing to worry about. These two are about as slow as snails, what with them being undead and all. Just keep plucking away at their health and we'll get them down eventually." Endilix nodded, and then in response, his hammer glowed a blood red, before he slammed it into the ground, causing a ripple through the earth that tore at the skeleton's shin bones. It was horribly ineffective, of course, as their health dropped just as minimally from his own attack. But at least he felt like he looked cool.

Mai nodded as the young man told her what to do. So long as the creatures didn’t hit either one of them, Shay thought it might have been possible to finish them off, provided none of their friends showed and joined in on the party. The hammer in his hand began to glow a fiery red and he slammed it upon the ground. The shockwave rippled through the ground beneath their feet and hit their target. Unfortunately it was about as effective as her attack. It was an impressive display to be sure, and had they not been mid-battle Mai might have said something to that effect. Instead, she focused on the pair they probably could not kill.

MAYURI HITS BOTH MOBS FOR 1 DMG

Raising Light Reaver, Mai clenched the grip before rushing at the monsters once more.  The petite raven-haired girl activated <<FellCrescent>> and broke between the pair of monsters as she brought her blade through them. She turned as she skid beside the young man and looked at her opponents to see what, if anything she did. Once more she found her attacks to be useless. If they both couldn’t hit the monsters then perhaps they ought to consider running away.

“I don’t think we can take them…” Mai spoke as she watched the creatures coming at them again. Her eyes followed their moments as she spoke. They were slow, and had little in the way of attack, but their mitigation might have been more than either of them could deal with.
