PP-F1 < Twilight training (Itzal, Kooh)

Itzal stirred in the bed in his room and opened his eyes.  The room he rented wasn't dark, but pretty bright with the moonlight pouring through the window.  He wasn't tired so he decided to stretch his legs.  He rose to his feet and grabbed his sword, opening the door and walked silently down the hall, careful not to wake up Adhae or Verus, or any players for that matter.  He passed the uncaring npcs and walked outside.  The moon was throwing it's soft and gentle light onto the landscape without a single cloud blocking it's way.  Every star also shone that night.  Itzal smiled.  He never told anyone, not even in real life, but he loved the night more than the day.  He thought about where he'd walk when he thought he heard movement behind him.  He quickly turned to the sound but it was just an npc cat.  Although it wasn't anything dangerous, it did remind Itzal about pkers and his thoughts darkened.  He decided he would go training out in the fields on floor one.  After all, he'd be alone this time.

Bright ruby-colored eyes stared up against a dark night sky. With artificial stars twinkling overhead, Kooh felt bathed in the starlight as she lay on the grassy fields outside of the Town of Beginnings. With most of the wandering monsters out of sight during the night hours, the girl had made her way out to the rolling hills, feeling restless once the moon had emerged. With her arms spread out on either side of her, Kooh heaved a sigh. She was really alone out here; no other players running around the fields brandishing swords, no busy NPCs repeating the same words over and over. For the first time in a while, she could feel herself beginning to relax. Her face looked calm, even as her wide-awake eyes continued to stare up into the vast night.

Itzal wandered the road until he came across a cliff he'd passed by earlier.  He noticed one or two wolves, each separated a good distance.  He set his eyes on the one to the left and drew his sword.  The wolf noticed and growled a warning towards him.  Itzal positioned himself, then charged forward, the sudden movement startling the wolf.  The mob jumped backward, barking viciously at Itzal and jerked suddenly, not moving from it's spot.  Itzal took this moment to charge forward and slash the creature with a horizontal strike.  It landed and he heard the mob yelp in pain.  As Itzal turned, he saw that the wolf had gotten it's paw tangled in some of the vines that covered the ground.

A soft breeze pushed through the area, brushing against Kooh's cheeks and lightly ruffling her clothes. The pattern of the rolling grass hills as the wind hit them was almost mesmerizing, given how barren they were. Taking in a deep breath through her nose, Kooh held it for a long second before releasing the air steadily. She closed her eyes, still not feeling any sort of sleep looming over her. It was typical of her to stay up late, sometimes staying awake until the early morning hours. She would crash eventually, and even sometimes just end up sleeping the day away. She didn't usually feel this restless, though. Her eyes flickered back open before long, staring back up at the calm dark sky.

The wolf attempted to get it's paw untangled, but it couldn't get out.  Itzal charged the wolf but ended up tripping himself, the wolf snapping it's maw at him as he fell.  He grumbled and prayed nobody saw him.  This wasn't turning out how he planned it.

As she lay lost in her thoughts, the girl wasn't wearing an expression. Her face stared blankly up at the sky, little emotion in her features. It was nice to let herself exist alone every once in a while. She'd been so caught up on associating with other players and wanting for things that she hadn't spent much time away from it all. Perhaps that was for the best, though--during those times, she kept herself distracted.

With a small force, Kooh pushed herself to roll over onto her stomach. She crossed her arms in front of her and let the side of her head rest on her forearms. Her coat nearly covered her like a blanket, resting over her form to leave only her long legs exposed to the night air. Her hood remained up, as it always was, and her blonde hair lay flowing and loose. She let her eyes close again, mulling over the thought of picking herself up and getting to the forest.

Itzal pushed himself to his feet just as the wolf broke free.  He drew his sword and used the flat end of his blade to knock the wolf's claws away.  When it jumped at him he rolled out of the way.  This was getting irritating.  He tried to jump and stab the wolf but it dodged at the last second and Itzal's blade pierced the ground.  He heard a yelp and looked to see that the wolf had messed up it's footing upon landing and fallen flat on it's stomach.  Itzal laughed before he tried pulling his sword out.  It wouldn't budge.  Maybe he should have laughed after he won...

While Kooh tried to chase away the sleep that slowly began crawling over her, she brought her boots up to kick lazily back and forth in the air. Eyes still closed, her head perked up a bit in reaction when the long howl of a lone wolf reached her ears. "Mm...?" She mumbled lazily to herself, trying to discern the distance and threat the creature posed to her. Obviously, she decided there wasn't much to worry about by her lack of action. Releasing a sigh, the girl let her boots drop lightly against the earth again as she laid out on the grass.

Itzal tugged and tugged but the sword wouldn't let loose.  He felt the wolf's claw rake his back and he grimaced from the hit.  He kicked at the wolf and made one last strong pull, finally tearing it free from it's prison.  He turned around and dodged the wolf's next incoming attack.  He was getting tired of this and wanted to end it.  He needed to prepare though.  He dodged the wolf as he looked for an opening, hoping that something would appear soon.
