[PP-F4] «Earning a Living» The Wandering Seul??

Recommended Posts

The crisp sound of some somewhat harden snow echoed about the fields of the 4th floor, as the wanderer finds himself wandering the fields to once again hunt for materials for his shop. It's been sometime now since the wanderer had to deal with hunting, but his resources has recently gotten low. Well, not entirely low as he still has a little more than 100 mats left in his store, but that's will only last for a couple more days. That little help he gave Zandra took a toll on his resources and he needs to get grinding again. That said, He looked forward into the on coming field. He had sent a message out to guildmate of his to meet him out here to farm for materials.

The fourth floor was still as stupidly cold as ever as he left the teleport plaza. Honestly, how anyone was able to stand living in such a place was beyond him. There would be more time to complain about the floor design later though. For now he had a to walk down the snowy streets of the town with a purpose. Once he arrived at the spot he greeted Rain with a wave while flicking off flakes of ice that had formed on his clothes during the trip. "Of all the places, it had to be here... Anyone we're going hunting right? Lead the way; I still need a second to warm up over here."

As Seul arrives to the designated spot, the wanderer begins sifting through his stuff. He had thought that he'll be complaining about this floor. This was, the wanderer's home floor so he's used to the cold, but most people aren't really one for the cold. "Here." He tosses him a small little vial of fiery color. "That'll keep you warm." He says as he begins to walk through the exit gate. He had made that vial to keep people warm in cold places. He also has potions to keep people cool in warm places. Oh the powers of alchemy.

HeatUp Given to Seul [A small vial of a fiery orange and red colored tonic. When drunk, it heats the body temperature up. Perfect for the cold environments.]

The wanderer begins walking out of the exit. He didn't exactly look back as he had expected Seul to follow him. He's also not one for waiting. "There's place I use for hunting. Bunch of Ice Elementals there." He says. Short and to the point. No dilly-dallying, today it's all business.

After a good 15 minute walk, they finally reach the fields where a bunch of Ice Elementals and other ice creatures spawn. This was where you would often at times find the wanderer if he was farming for materials.

With a shrug he chugged down the vial and instantly began to feel his body temperature rise to a comfortable level. He didn't drink the potion because that would be a foolish thing to do when they were about to go hunting for some reason that he couldn't quite understand. While following Rain he made sure his equipment was in order and when the prey on today's menu was pointed out he ran ahead, not wanting to be left out of his share of the hunting. "I want this one!" He yelled while engaging with the first monster he could find: An ice elemental. It didn't look too tough, but looks were obviously deceiving as it simply used one of its icicle arms to block his dagger.

Watching Seul jump right into the hunt, the wanderer quickly followed suite not wanting to be left behind. As he entered the field, the wanderer didn't bother with the one that his companion was fighting. He ran right past him and went for a group of 4 peculiar «Ice Wraiths» that happened to be near by. One the wanderer got close, he quickly drew his blade. In an azure flash, the four «Ice Wraiths» shattered into pixels before they even know what was going on.

"You must not be an ordinary monster to be able to block my attack like that!" The Ice Elemental was probably the king of all ice-based monsters. That was the only sensible explanation as to why it suffered no damage. Seul tried his best to ignore Rain's successful slaying a short distance away as it just served as another reminder of how terrible his weapon was against multiple enemies. The monster attacked with a jab from one of its frozen fists, but the knight blocked most of the attack, only suffering a minor scratch that healed up seconds later. His miniature bllade was already glowing and by the time the two cuts of his sword art were through with the elemental's torso the health bar by its head had depleted and all that remained was nothing but pixels and loot.

The wanderer fell to the snow covered ground on his back, as he finishes off his group of mobs. He made clear out mobs quickly, he losses energy just as fast. As he lied there in wait, he stared at his HUD, it seems as though Seul's still in a fight, as his just sees his Energy Pool sudden drop by a fair margin. The wanderer didn't really worry too much, however. He's been in fights with Seul, so he knew how well Seul can handle himself. If Seul can't kill the beasts, they'll just kill themselves with all his thorns he has on his gear.

Kasier sighed. She was up on the fourth place once more. Sure, the scenery was beyond describable. There was absolutely no describing how beautiful the place was. However, how cold it was was totally describable. It was so cold to the point that Kasier couldn't help but shiver as she walked through the safe zone of the city. This place was a lot more peaceful when compared to the first floor. It was practically exaclty opposites. The first floor wasn't that hot... But because of how over-crowded it was, it literally burns someone who walks in on the area. The fourth floor was unbearable for someone in starting gear... And that was exactly what Kasier was in at the moment. Her starting cloth seemed non-existent as she walked through the city and her looks attracted quite a few looks from the NPCs and players of the town. However, it didn't annoy Kasier, mostly because she was too distracted by the coldness than to actually look around her environment. What she needed was good gear... And fast. But she had invested most of her materials on her shop instead of her equipment. Eventually, she would definitely have to invest in some armor that can actually absorb heat and keep her warm on this floor since she needed ice crystals to make cold coffee... Something that a lot of people enjoy, to her surprise. Kasier sighed, finally reaching the end of the safe zone when she realized that there were two people out there. Both of them looked rather familiar. It then struck her that one of them was an alchemist who had given out free potions while the other she met briefly while the boy uttered some brave words to her. With a smile, she thought that she'd like some company and rushed over with her hand held high for a wave. "Hey guys! What are you two doing here?" She shouted, running over as she watched Seul defeat some mobs.

Xion sighed as he walked out of the teleport gate on the fourth floor in a  flash of blue light, the tank instantly noting the slight but not all too extreme chill that he felt once he had appeared, the blonde thankful of his survival skill which meant that the usually intolerable cold was but a slight nuisance to him. "I need something to do..." he mumbled as his breath condensed into small clouds in front of him, the teen chuckling as he noted the detail that had been put into the game by Kayaba, despite it's morbid purpose. "Let's see..." the boy said as he checked his friends list, noting that a couple of his guild mates seemed to be nearby. Good, he could help them out in whatever he was doing and reap the rewards. The tank then strode in the direction of his companions, the walk taking a good few minutes as his armoured boots, the colour of which was a dark contrast to that of the snow, crushed it underneath.

After a while he saw the forms of Rain, Seul, and Kasier, the last of which was someone that he had not known for long. "Seul, Rain. In need of some help?" he asked them with a serious tone before nodding to Kasier.

Seul sighed as he collected the loot and made his way over to where the wanderer was laying in the snow. "Looks like we're making a pretty good haul." He said while going over how much they had both earned up to that point. "If we keep this up then-" The thought would be left unsaid as a familiar girl entered the scene. How did they keep running into her like this? Maybe she was some crazy stalker who heard they were with the knights and wanted an autograph or something. Either way he needed to play it cool to not scare her away as was the usual case with the girls he meets. "Oh, hey. We're just chilling... Get it? Cause of all the snow."

Bad jokes aside it would seem that another would be joining them as well. "Hey Xion. I guess you can help, the more people we have the faster this farming will go, but we're sorta taking five right now."

The snow lightly fell on him as he lied there on the snow. In a blink of an eye more people seemed to have joined them in their hunt. One of the people who happened to came out of nowhere was a particular girl who the wanderer vaguely remembers while he was handing out potions. There was nothing that really caught his attention except for the fact that she tried taking 3 rare potions - which the wanderer caught in time before she took off. Other than that, she seemed to just be a normal new player. Why she came all the way out, he wasn't quiet sure, but with her around, Seul and the wanderer's task is going to get a little tougher as they need to protect her.

After that thought, another familiar face came strolling by as if randomly jumping to leech for SP. It was Xion. One of the main tanks helping out in the Low Level Event Bosses and one of the wanderer's guild mates. The wanderer was skeptical at first as to why he came out here, but he didn't really took it to mind. He was more concern on finding materials for his shop. With Xion being there, however, protecting the noirette, Kasier, would be so much easier.

The wanderer slowly sat up from his position. He didn't particularly had any thought of greeting them properly as his thoughts were somewhere else and he just wanted to hurry this little hunt they have going on as soon as possible. He quickly stood back up and raised his hands for a quick wave. "Yo." He says to the two new players before he began walking backing to the fields. His energy wasn't full restored, but he didn't want to waste any more time.

Before any of the two male players had a chance to greet her... A new player entered the scene. He had the familiar long hair and remembered his face from a few nights ago. The brownish hair flew in the wind as he arrived. Indeed, this was Xion, a tank that Kasier had met while staring into the night sky on the first floor in the cold. The man had engaged her in some nice conversation but that was pretty much it. If he was out here in the cold... Outside of the safe zone, surely he must be ready for combat and boy... Kasier was ready to see the tank in action. He had stated that he was quite high leveled and so far into the game, he has only been around with people that were either a few levels lower than her or a few levels higher. Xion... Of course, was the exception. Now, Kasier might have the chance to see one of the best tanks in Aincrad perform his duty if the party was going to engage in combat.

Then, the black haired boy began to speak and Kasier was forced to hold back a chuckle when the boy made an absolute terrible joke. It was way too corny but Kasier appreciated his attempt of trying to be funny. "Erm... What's your name again?" She asked. She knew the boy from that alchemy give away but she was certain that he didn't tell her his name yet... Or if he did, Kasier probably forgot about it. In her defense, though, the meeting between the two was quite vague and the boy seemed quite weak judging from his structure and build. Now, though, considering the fact that he knew Xion, Kasier decided that he would have to be of some rank. Then, Kasier looked over at the alchemist. He had been quiet and to her, he seemed like a robot. Still, she had met quite a few strange people already so far into the game and one more didn't seem that much. All she knew about him was he was quite a well-known alchemist and his name was 'Rain'. With a simple hand wave, he said something that Kasier missed due to the loudness of the breezy wind. "I hope you guys don't mind me here... I wanna see how a high leveled party does in combat!" She said, ready for quite a show and hopefully... She won't be disappointed.

(OOC: Posting orders r 4 ⏹'s)

A confused look spread across his face as Rain didn't seem too interested in talking at that moment. Despite the fact Seul's eyes were glaring daggers at the alchemist's back as he walked away, all he could do was let out a heavy sigh before turning back to the others and more specifically the new girl to address her questions. "Don't mind him; he's just shy around girls sometimes. My name's Seul though. I'm sure that no one here would mind you being around as long as you don't get in the way." With that he followed after Rain. They would probably enter another battle soon, but if it was anything like the last he wasn't worried in the slightest. The monsters that littered the floor weren't all that strong and the materials they dropped would without a doubt come in handy. "Are you almost ready to fight again, Mr. Moody?"

The wanderer's looked back at Seul after that comment, his eyes winced. "Just what could he mean that comment?" He thought to himself. He's done nothing wrong other than worry about a lot of things. One of which was trying to get materials for his shop. He's been eating through his materials like crazy ever since he has reached rank 9 alchemy and he still hasn't found a way to consistently gain materials. Honeslty if it wasn't for Takao's large donation, the wanderer's shop probably would've closed down for a bit. Another thing on his mind was his new equipment that was being made. He's dishing out a lot of Col to pay for all his new items, but he needs to save for a future house to move his shop into. Those two were his mind, among others, but after Seul's "Mr. Moody" Comment, his mind is just blank.

The wanderer wanted to say something about his comment, but he decided to ignore it and move on. His energy pool was about to be fully reneged. So walking forward, "Yeah, let's go."

Kasier smiled and nodded. It seemed like she wouldn't have to do much except look at the scenery and maybe hop in for a bit of healing when it's necessary. Hence, she would just stay back and watch. However, she found it really strange that during the whole time, Xion was literally frozen in one place and has interacted with no one. Soon, however, Kasier just shrugged it off. It must have just been her own feeling. It was evening at this point and well, the sun was falling slowly in the horizon. Kasier would be sure to keep an eye on that because of how beautiful it was and she would probably be really bored during the material gathering time. With a sigh, she followed the party.

As the next monster spawned in Seul made an honest effort to tune out the others while readying his dagger once more. Another ice elemental would be his target this time around and with little care for his own well being he jumped into the battle without hesitation. His weapon took on the bright glow of a sword art and in the next moment one of the elementals was left dead as to slashes cut through its body. The loot it left behind seemed to be scarce but at least he did manage to get a material out of it.

Looking back at his companion he simply gave him a nod of approval. Perhaps Rain's s luck with the col and material drop rates would be better than his own. But with that thought in mind there was also only one way to find out.

Kasier cursed. The fact that this action was taking so long to complete was actually bothering her and annoying the hell out of her. How can someone invite her into watching a battle but not actually engage in the battle? It seemed like such a long time after Rain dealt the first attack and now, absolutely nothing was happening and it was starting to piss her off. She had tried to get the party to attack the boar but it was no use, it seemed like they didn’t even want to attack the boars. It was quite a sad sight really, if this was the little motivation that the front liners have, then the entirety of the Sword Art Online community is screwed. This is why the strong won’t always stay strong, because they are weak… But the weak, they have motivation to become strong, and they will become strong in the end, surpassing the lazy front liners who currently have the power but soon will lose it all.

[Uh, why the heck is this thread not being replied to. Literally 5 more posts and it will be done.]

OOC: Sorry, I disappeared and seemed like everyone else did, too. Let's finish it.

In a flash, Seul managed to rip through the Ice elemental before the snowy haired elemental could even move a muscle. "Damn, I was too slow," He thought as he walked up to Seul. "No Col, but at least we got a mat out of it. Anyways, let's head back, I can sense a storm is coming." The wanderer spoke as his eyes pierced across the tree tops and right at a wall of white snow which seems to be getting closer. "Doesn't look like a fun one, too." He added as he gestured Seul and the rest to head back to town. As the wanderer trudged through the snowy forest, the wanderer stopped for a moment in his tracks. He had led the group out here with no problem. Getting back should have been simple. That unfortunately wasn't the case. As the wanderer stared up at his map, everything seemed to be jumbled up, as if the frequency is being jammed or something. "... You guys know how to get back?"

Although he would have liked to continue, Rain had a point. Off in the distance there was a storm brewing and in cases like this it was better to be safe rather than sorry just to be a little extra greedy. All in all it turned out to be a nice haul, even though the other two didn't exactly pitch in and chose to watch instead.

The walk back to town should have been simple. On a low floor like this nothing should have required extra amounts of effort, but there they were seemingly lost in the middle of the woods with a snowstorm on their tails. What were they supposed to do? It wasn't like Seul memorized how the path back after they left. He could only sigh and shake his head in response to the wanderer’s question.

“If we just keep walking we’ll have to get somewhere eventually. The floor is only so big.”

"Yeah, I guess you have a point." That in mind, the wanderer kept trucking on. Behind them, the storm getting closer by the minute. The wanderer didn't even have to turn around and look to tell. As they keep trudging along through the snow, the winds started to become strong, the snow, thicker and heavier. "I'm really starting to think that finding a spot to hide would be our best option here. The storm's getting closer by the minute." The wanderer paused in his words, to look around. The winds were now strong enough that it can keep his bangs that normally cover his right eye away from the eye, leaving his azure eye exposed. Revealing that Rain has Heterochromia Iridium. Which wasn't really genetic or anything. It was actually cause from a mistake in his lab. Frantic, the wanderer covered his azure eye and kept trucking along. "You see anything? A path of some sort? There should've been a path by now." He says as he kept his eyes on pivot, keeping an eye out for a path that leads back to Snowfrost Town.
