[F3-PP] Naturally <<Treant Rivalries>> (Sey) [Complete]

Recommended Posts

It hadn't been long since Hydra had completed his last quest, however here he stood, surround by treants who had apparently gone to war with the elves of the third floor. "Where have I been this whole time?" The spearman mumbled to himself. It had been a normal day as usual. He had gone for a wander in the forests of the third floor only to be approached by a group, no, an army of these woodlands beings. A blue circle appeared before him and he quickly accepted the quest. The young adventurer didn't really feel in a position where he could decline, at least they seemed to have a good enough cause for there side of the war.

It didn't take long for the action to begin, from behind Hydra several blazing arrows suddenly erupted from the shadows piercing several nearby treant guard. "Errr..." The young adventuerer watched them burst into crystals, remaining treants charged into the forest which was followed by brief screaming as elvish scouts were practically ripped in two. "What have I signed up to." The spearman said sighing to himself and equipping his gear for combat. He wondered if this war was going to attract the attention of any passers by.

"Hey, watch where you aim that!" Sey exclaimed to one of the arrows being shot through the scene. The war was going on for sure, and it was going to be a hell of a lot of a problem to handle alone. However, he took the quest, and so he was going to have to pay the price unfortunately. Placing his spear up, he would look around to see if there was anyone else that just so happened to be taking the quest, only to see a little hint of the tip of an orange crystal. A player killer... This could really be bad news if he were unlucky. Slowly approaching, he would have his spear ready in case they were going to do anything to him, in which the both of them would fight. "Come out right now... And I won't hurt you... If you don't hurt me. We are in the middle of war, so it won't be that hard..." A chilling threat sent to the player killer, but it was all true. Little did he know that it was just a friend.

The battle had picked up within moments and Hydra was forced to take cover where he could. Swiftly diving behind a tree trunk he narrowly avoided multiple arrows which seemingly ripped apart the forest. Not to far from his position he suddenly heard a rustle and the sound of a familiar voice. Snow white hair made it easy for him to identify who that voice was coming from, his questing partner Sey. "Looks like he must have been caught up in this as well... wait who is he talking to?" Hydra squinted trying to peer through the foilage. What came next was a little concerning, the sight of an orange crystal which was not his own.

Slowly Hydra began to make his way over to his friend but suddenly a group of six elvish soldiers fell from above him. Hydra had no time to react with his weapon so instead sidestepped out the way as various scimitars were swung at him. "Dammit..." Hydra cursed as he raised his spear. Now was not the time, hopefully his friend would would of heard that.

"Yeah, no. Bye bye!" An attempted slash from the killer as they tried to slice at him, but he had his guard up and leaped away from whoever it was, a cloaked figure that seemed to have no problem with trying to slice at him. It was a waste of energy, but he had to try... "Fine then, be that way!" He declared as he would move the spear in a circular motion once again as he would trigger tribal fury sword art. This would allow him to hit a few of the elves while also being able to hit the player killer. As a result, he knocked back a few of the elves and the player, causing the hood of the player to unveil itself and he'd notice a familiar female face. A little girl he once knew... And she had grown up a few years later. To think she would be stuck in the game as well... "D-damn it!" She'd exclaim, fleeing far faster than any player he had seen. Despite her seeming familiar, he could not place his finger on it... But he had to focus back on the battle. And he figured it did not matter now. So he turned back to the enemies, only to see a familiar face. "Hydra!"

With Sey's <Tribal fury> being so successful, it created the opening Hydra needed to use his own. Upon activating his own area of effect attack, the elves had now become trapped between two whirling flurry of blades. They lashed out frantically trying to deter the spear's away with there own scimitars however they were far to weak. Hydra found it oddly satisfying to hear them screaming for mercy as his spear cut through there virtual flesh decapitating them within an instant.

Sparks and pixilated dust blew up in the general area scattering the forest, leaving only two of the already weakened elves left, both of which had expressions of utter fear on their faces. On top of that Hydra had now met up with Sey. "Fancy seeing you here." The spearman laughed nearly forgetting about the ongoing war that they were caught up in. The orange player, whoever they were seemed to have vanished. "I would of liked to kill them." Hydra thought to himself, a bitter taste coming into his mouth at the thought of those who would prey on the weak. In any case he had a quest to do so it was no use mulling about it now.

"Same to you too! And what do you know, we are already taking on another quest." He would explain before then looking at the opponents in front of them before trying to lash out at them again, but to no avail as he would end up missing his attack. As a result, he would have to jump back and wait for Hydra to do something good against them. Placing his spear up in case he needed to defend himself, he would brace for any incoming retaliation to come from the enemies. It was not a smart move to attack him, and the hate considered otherwise, but he would like to stay safe. Despite there being two of them, who knew how much damage they are able to inflict onto him? Therefore, he would wait for his moment to strike, ready to fight back against them. The player killer was the least of their concerns, she did not seem to want to come back.

"Seems like it, fortunately we both sided with the treants." Hydra smiled. The two remaining elves turned to Sey and focused their attacks at him. Maybe they hoped Hydra would become disinterested but that wasn't going to happen. The brunette granted this pair a swifter death as he sent his weapon staight through them barely giving time to react. One of them reached for Sey as they crumbled but their weapon hit nothing air.

"We should find the commander before more elvish soldiers come." The spearman stopped and glanced towards the great tree which apparently the elves had stolen. "I believe he resides there, and furher in we will find the king." A volley of arrows suddenly covered the sky above them. Hydra heard the moaning and creaks of several Treant's that had been unfortunate enough not to get into the cover of the forest. This had to be the most 'on edge' quest the adventurer had ever been on. Now it was up to him and Sey to get into the backlines and take the elves out tactically.

"You're right! If we can take down their leader, the elves themselves would scramble around in a terrible mess. And then we can take out whatever we need to. If you really think it's there, then let's hope you're right." Sey declared with no hesitation as he would move his step towards the tree, but he had to be stealthy about it. One wrong step and both sides might end up trying to kill them. they were neither Treants nor elves, so the that they are human might have both of them killed by either side, which might not know any better than to think that they were just some third group trying to kill them. "Be careful dude, we can't have them killing us now. If we can get into the tree without getting caught, that is probably the best plan we have. Think we have any way of being able to do that? The snow-haired player would ask, ready to leap out towards the tree sprinting if he had to. It was risky, but perhaps useful.

Sey had a point, they couldn't just make a run for it. They'd both be peppered with arrows. Hydra had his shield but it wasn't the kind to provide him with full cover, let alone another player. Pausing a moment he began to think. Eventually turning back to Sey he getured above them. "What if we move through the trees themselves. No one would expect an attack from above." It was all Hydra could think of at the moment, just like the ninth floor if they were to slip it'd mean a quick death. Fortunately for the two players had that practice. "I will take a look first." Hydra began to scale a nearby tree, his upper body strength was poor but he just about managed to get a hold of a branch and pull himself upwards. The whole floor was different with a panoramic view and Hydra could see the vastness of how far the war had spread. Burnt patches of forests surrounded them everywhere and he could make out creatures dying as though it were a fireworks display of crystals. The spearman even watched as a group of lower levelled green players, probably fighting for the elvish side were surrounded and crushed by a group of treant soldiers. All Hydra could do was feel pity now and recall Sey's warning of how they were both human. "Any other ideas." Hydra said poking his head back under the forest's canopy. @Sey

That was probably the wrong side to choose, for those players were plobably no longer alive now. It was a brutal sight to witness, and Sey could not help but feel bad for them. But a few seconds more, and he might join them, so he had to redirect his focus back. "I think the best chances he have it to get behind the Treants. While the elves still can kill us, if we are swift enough, we can avoid the incoming fire from the elves. It's that or nothing I don't think." He would explain, shrugging as he continued to watch both sides go at it, one of the Treants having their arm ripped off, but for that same arm to smash a group of elves in the way. They were slowly drifting over violent melee attacks, which would work in their favor if they do that for long enough if they were to go with his plan. All in all, there was no way out of it, they were going to have to take risks, otherwise they have nothing else. He could only hope.

The plan was risky but the best idea they could come up with. Hydra thought for a second before nodding. "Hopefully the treants won't mind us using them as body shields, but this is the only way to win the war." Gulping slightly Hydra slowly moved to the forest's edge and peered out into the opening where most the combatants were at war. Hydra took note of a particularly big treant who had already been pierced by several arrows and was still standing. If only they could get behind him they'd be safe. "Do you want to go first or should I?" The young adventurer said turning back to Sey. His voice was calm however his eyes were begining to show signs of fear.

Just in case the spearman readied his weapon and shield, tucking them into himself tightly. His armor would stop a few arrows however the question was, not if he could get through without being hit, but how many hits he could endure. In any case Hydra could make out his objective, the elvish commandder surrounded by a guard of six more elite soldiers. With one more turn out of combat the spearman's energy would have regenerated and he could engage.

"I'll make the run first, you follow behind me. Though once we get in the tree, we can expect a bit of resistance. All right, let's go!" He would order as he would run with his spear in hand, prepared for the upcoming battle that would occur inside of the tree. The quest was designed for them to get past this part, so that was the only part that would stop a player from making it to the real boss. But now that they found a way around it, they can make it to the boss fight. Moving his legs swiftly behind their allies, he would make his way past all of the arrows, despite nearly getting hit in the head with one of them. "Made it! I'm entering the tree Hydra!" The snow-haired player would declare as he would jump forward, sliding into the tree on his stomach and escaping the middle of the war in between both sides. It was a lot more calm inside... Until they were met with their next challenge... Shoot... Not even a chance to rest. "Careful, we need to face this next giant..."

"Alright..." Hydra nodded. Sey set off quickly, Hydra took in a deep breath of air and followed. It was easy to lose his friend amisdt the war however he would meet with him later, right now all he was focused on was survival. Arrows rushed pashed Hydra's head, some lightly grazing him, others he had to block with his shield. After constant ducking and weaving between the various treants he finally reached the opening into the tree. It appeared the commander and his elite guard had retreated back inside the lumbering oak so it was up to him and Sey to tackle them head on and finally the king. As Hydra crouched and crawled into the tree he found Sey on the other side. "Glad to see you your uninjured." Hydra said with a smile, although it seemed they had little time to talk. The nxt challenge was already upon them.

"I... Have a tendency to get lucky. At least your wounds aren't too bad, I'll make sure to heal ya." Sey would declare, preparing his new combat crafting item, in which he used to invest in his new first aid skill. It was able to heal any wounds if he was able to carry out the task, which was what he needed right now. There was a decent chance of success when doing so, so that help ease his mind, knowing he could heal. Turning to the side, the next sudden enemy to arrive was... Not quite the king? It was tall, but not quite what they were looking for. "That enemy does not seem to want us to go by. We're going to have to take it down. Well, you are injured, so I'll focus on healing you instead. Tell me if you want me to fight." The snow-haired player would tell him. It was probably best he stayed back, away from the harm while he himself can't inflict any damage to the elf enemy that just presented itself.

"First aid as well, we practically mirror each other." Hydra laughed displaying his own first aid skill although it was less needed. "Thanks." The spearman said once Sey was done. It appeared that there conversation had attracted the attention of the elvish commander. He muttered something at his guard, whatever it was they seemed to stand down. "A duel to single combat perhaps?" The young adventurer thought. Elves were notorious after all for looking down on other creatures as inferior.

The commander clad in shining golden armor unsheated his rapier and pointed it at Hydra. Still a little weary from the sprint Hydra slowly stood up and wiped his mouth. For a moment the two sized one another up and then it was followed as they both struck out with incredible speed. There blades clashed Hydra's spear overpowering that of the rapier, unfortunately the elf was quick and quickly back stepped avoiding Hydra's blade. At that point the spearman's armor illuminated the dark inside of the trunk, his heavy momentum ativating once more.

They did not start off on either a good or a bad note, just neutral since neither of them could get the leverage. That could mean anything, but for now, they were going to have to try something. There was nothing for Sey to heal, so he would just decide to strike it with a stun, hoping that it would be enough for him to get the damage inflicted. Of course, this will bring hate onto him. But the hate was only for the moment, and how much damage can this monster really inflict onto a player anyways? If he had to guess, considering the level of the quest, he won't be taking any damage from this fight. But this was just base on previous knowledge, and he knew better than to underestimate an opponent. But then again, he would refrain, not looking to attack without any reason to.

(OOC: Sorry about late reply, was finding out how heavy momentum worked)

The two prepared their counter attacks performing perfectly in sync. It felt more like a training session to Hydra than anything else, there were no wounds just the clashing of weapon against weapon. Agility against agility. The young spearman's armor illuminated once more, granting him his heavy momentum damage. All that was required now was a hit, "One scratch..." Hydra thought to himself was enough to send this pompous elf spiraling through the tree.

Sey seemed to be biding his time and waiting to strike. The elf was originally challenging the two of them, it was just that Hydra raised his weapon first. The pair struck again this time both missing completely. Stepping back Hydra growled slightly in frustration and then entered his most powerful stance. Next turn he would cast his most powerful sword art <merciless flurry>. All he needed was an opening, hopefully Sey would be able to help with that.

"I got you! Hold on!" he would announce as he would try to get the commander once again. But it seemed like neither of them were able to get the upper hand of the fight as he tried to slice up, but it leaped out of the way. It was a waste of energy sadly, and this time he lost a bit in his energy bar in the process as well. Such a bad waste to use his strength on. Placing the spear back, he would leap back. "Seems like I don't have it sadly. You're up! I'll see what we can do to try to get it!" He would explain as he would try to think, since neither of them got hate yet. It was a toss up as to where the enemy would hit, but they will find out once it actually landed a hit. And when it did, that was when everything would finally start. This pace however was extremely painful to endure.

Sey may have missed but the small opening he created was all Hyda needed. With his heavy momentum activated, he performed a strike which dealt more damage than he had ever achieved before. As before the elvish commander managed to defend Hydra's first blow, however with a glare in his eye and a twisted smile on his face which spoke more than words, Hydra triggered his <concentration>. The elf's own smug grin quickly dissapeared as the water serpen't fang ripped into his body twelve times.

There was no time for a scream. Just a brief look of complete dread before the commander's body shattered into millions of cystals. Hydra felt as though he had just exhausted his whole body at once, however more of stress than anything else. The remaining elvish elite guards had fled the battle leaving now only the king. Turning back to Sey the spearman innocently smiled, "One more." He paused and walked to a spiral staircase which led up to the top of the tree. "Touch wood of course, I shouln't get ahead of myself."

Sey just witnessed it all go down in one hit, the enemy did not stand a chance as Hydra would unleash the next attack, one that clearly would make an enemy regret crossing his path. One sword art was all it took to take down the commander and now they got to meet the king. "Dude! That was so dope! I can't imagine doing that with my strength right now, I need to find whatever you did and do it as well, because that was sick!" He was like a child that had just seen a firework show, he loved seeing strength in combat, especially when it was on his own side. Placing his spear up, he would prepare for the final event to occur. "We have to defeat their leader, do you think you are up for that?" The snow-haired player would ask the brunette, moving his neck around in a circle before then the king himself made an appearance before them. With this, he would smile as the enemy would glare right back at them. "Let's take it on, but if you need to bail out, we can to restore energy. If not, let's take it on now."
