[PP-F7] Rumored <<Arabian Nights: Second Night>>

Recommended Posts

“You sure about that? It took me forever to get through that, and I had to rely on ya to get this done faster. I think we would still be fighting if you didn’t do that.” Some Balance build Sey turned out to be. It was because of such an unfortunate weapon to be wielding. He could be doing far more had he made a better decision at first. Now he was at the mercy of the system and hoping for a change someday without losing skill points. It costed hell for him to get the spear maxed out, it would be a throwaway of a weapon if he changed it. “Yeah, it probably will be a little bit worse. I have some alcoholic items, but I have no materials, so I would rather not waste them for such a reason.” With that, he would place his left hand in his pocket and proceed to walk, looking at the top left corner to see the energy bar filling up passively.

Jonathan listened to Sey as he began to rest... but also down himself as Jonathan had the last few days. The blond sighed and replied to the man. "Perhaps the one-handed spear had not been the best choice for you as you are not using a shield. Your damage is fine though. Perhaps soon you will get a chance to fix that, but for now you are doing great getting us through this quest. Soon I will help you with the damage, but for now you gotta keep going through the quest" He stood there looking at the man who mentioned alcholic items. "Ya don't need the extra items. You are doing fine just keep going. We are almost through this quest. Ali will want us back as early as possible, so calm down and keep resting." Jonathan looked away for a few minutes, deciding this might look like what he looked like when he was dissing on himself and feeling sorry for himself. It was quite pitiul.

"Yeah, a shield would definitely help with the tankish part. If I can get a bigger amount of damage, it would definitely work better for me. But oh well, it's best to not dwell on it. You did say it was getting us through here. It would be best to just focus on the battle ahead." Sey would explain, shrugging his shoulders, eyes half-closed as he would roll his wrists for a small moment before then looking up. They were nearly done with the quest anyways, they can improve their skills with the skill points offered, and since it was a series of quests as well, it was going to be much easier to make the climb considering there was more than one quest with this sort of thing. "Hm, if we bring the mask back, do you think Ali will pay us back as handsomely as he did before? Not to belittle him, but it makes you wonder where he even gets the income in the first place."

Jonathan stood there staring at Sey. His energy had finally finished regenerating, meaning Sey would be the same soon. He seemed to get through to the man about his damage condition, which would be much better than sitting around with a pity party. They would be getting things done now. "Well, I think we can at least start to make chase after those last bandits." Jonathan readied his stuff and began to jog forward, not waiting to see if Sey was behind him. Sey asked a question to him and Jonathan pondered it for a second. "I don't know, its possible. His income... do you think it could have possibly come form that "Cave of wonders" he spoke of when he as drunk?" Jonathan stopped when he seen a cage, concealing what was inside. The bandits were moving it on through some animals and had yet to notice them yet. "Are you ready? If so, we should make the attack now before they have the chance to meet up with some reinforcements"

"Hold on, my energy is nearly there. Just give me a few more seconds." Sey would explain as he would look to the energy bar, seeing it rise at a slower rate as it was near full, showing the progress was going to be put to a safe stop once the energy reached the maximum. It placed a smile on his face as it would finally let out a small flash once the green bar was full, showing that he was now all juiced up and ready for combat. "And I think we are ready now for whatever comes up next. As for the cave of wonders, it makes me wonder if there is anything left to loot in the first place. Why work for it through a quest when we could simply do it through mining and get a lot more?" Hey, it was definitely a form of business in the real world. But he had a feeling that "Drilling" was not a skill that the game had in mind when it came to features, a truly unfortunate result for those who want to grind for col.

Jonathan stopped listening to Sey, and in time his voice drowned out entirely. They were right on the two bandits trail. He began to sprint and shouted to create a ruckus. Instantly the two bandits were onto of the cage they were wheeling. They laughed and thrust their daggers into the locks, releasing the... manticore? A lion beat with sharp teeth, wings and a tail with long spikes. "That ain't no chimera!" The bandits were already wheeling out of there, moving away at full speed form the manticore. "Alright Sey! Here goes nothing!" The blond charged in raising his shield. He let out a <Focused Howl> on the Manticore to ensure he would have the attention This thing did not look to friendly. "Alright Sey! Get in there and attack it!" The manticore roared as it approached. It did not appear to be attacking right now, but in a second, the blond was sure it would began to tear him to shreds. Manticores were devilish creatures.

Abilities:

  • Double attack: The chimera attacks twice in one turn, once on a successful BD and second on a successful MD. Evasion/Accuracy or any kind of Battle dice related action applies to the Monster dice as well. This acts as two distinct normal hits, each being mitigable.
  • Partial Phase: The chimera will always deal a minimum of 24 normal damage per hit, even through Armor and Armor Abilities/Mods. Except for the following Fire Breath attack.
  • Fire Breath: On a natural BD/MD of 8-10, the chimera will breath fire, releasing a AoE attack that will affect all players fighting it for 40 normal damage and Tier 2 Burn Damage per post, for the next 2 individual player post. It is possible to simultaneously release 2 Fire Breath attacks if the BD and MD meet the requirements for it. In this case, Burn Damage does not stack but resets post count, while the normal attack damage combines into 80 normal damage; this value is then mitigatable.

"Thanks Ali for getting it THIS WRONG!" Sey would snarl, thinking that they would end up being able to get to it and hopefully tame it. But this was not even a chimera, so there was no hope in doing that. Looks like they were going to have to put this thing down if they want to get to the item. "Not a problem! Leave it to me!" Sey would announce before rushing his body forward towards the monster. With his spear in hand, he would proceed to slice through it a couple times in rapid succession. and the best part was, since there was only one of it, he did not have to use his weaker area attacks. Simply put, more damage can be done in a shorter amount of time. This might actually be easier than the task of fighting the three bandits, and that in itself is a huge reward for them.

Jonathan watched as Sey moved in, striking the manticore. It let out a proud roar and attacked the retreating player, but he was much too fast. It ignored the player and turned towards Jonathan. The blow smiled and charged forward. It slashed with its claws first. He managed to blow the them with his shields and as he drew back, he noticed sparks flying off of his shield. 'fire?' He moved forward with his shield again, then realized the manticore had turned and slashed at hit with the thorns on its tail. He blocked again and countered with his sword and slashed. It roared as its pelt was struck again. Its health hardly dipped, which enraged Jonathan. "SERIOUSLY! WHAT IS THIS? IRON HARD PELT!?" He backed away, allowing Sey to come in for another attack. The man was doing far more damage then he.

Sey would proceed to follow up behind the tank with the attacks. While they were barely shaving through the health of the monster, they were still able to get this done without any deaths on their own side. And it goes to show how much reward was going to be given to them once the task has been fulfilled. With that said, he would then launch himself at the manticore once again, refusing it to go any further with it's attacks. He would slice through the core of it massively with a few strikes repeated as he would move in a left right left sort of way. The damage was slowly beginning to stack up, and he might be able to beat the monster, just barely, but that was still enough. Besides, Jonathan was able to stack his damage as well, eventually making one massive blow over time.

Sey moved in again, striking with elite courage and bravery. The blond admired his skills, but he could not stop now. He moved in front of Sey, raising his shield, but the Manticore seemed to have learned his lesson over shields. It feinted one way, and then slashed open his chest. Jonathan fell back in surprise of the burning feeling. "What in the..." The manticore kept up the attack, blasting one huge fireball. It hit both the players, sending them sprawling back. "Ouch, burn damage." The blond fell back, readying his shield. He had taken physical damage and then now had the burn status effect. This manticore had something going on. It had two attacks, which was completely unfair. "We gotta keep the attacks coming... it has like evasion of something on it anyway"

They were currently on even grounds right now, exchanging blows and all. Sey already used concentration, making it very much useless for right now. Still however, he was going to make the attempt to get at the monster again. But before given the chance, a sudden rush of fire would sweep towards them, and Sey was forced to hold out his arms and take a little bit of damage in the process. Once the impact had finished, he would feel all sorts of hot for the moment before the games regulator brought him back to normal. With that said and done, he would then proceed to advance with his spear held high. he would slice through the core of the manticore once again, leaving a few marks on it's body before then jumping back and away from the monster, letting it continue as they both had to prepare for whatever came next from it.

Jonathan watched as Sey kept it up, ensuring that the death of the manticore would be soon. "Nice job Sey, keep it up. Half way done" The tank moved in forward, his sword at the ready. The manticore growled at him, still apparently not happy with him. It moved in first, keeping up with the same move from previously. It slashed through his shield, striking his chest again, reared back and used it firebreath yet again, replacing the burn on both of them. "Seriously?" A bit ticked, the blond advanced forward, striking its iron hard pelt. It growled at him, not happy with him at all. It bounded toward the mountain, turning towards them again, clawing the air. It had reached half health, and it was probably taking a less offensive standpoint. "What are you running away for? We are no done with you yet!"

It would strike them both with the fire breath once again, such an annoying move. "Can it NOT!?" Sey would exclaim, clenching his teeth and crossing his arms over his face as he took impact from the fire. the heat would cause massive burns on his body, but none on his face at least. It was an annoying effect to have rather than painful, and he would look to the enemy. It left itself open after that last attack it carried out. So he would step forward once casually, then blur the next moment following up. The manticore would end up dodging his spear unfortunately, making things a lot more annoying all of a sudden. The snow-haired player would snarl as he would then jump back from the monster attack... It was not looking to be a good time for him to miss, but his recent bad luck has been haunting him these days.

Jonathan watched as Sey moved forward on the Manticore. The man moved fast, but the manticore had appeared to have learned from it previous lessons. It deflected each of Sey’s attacks before roaring triumphantly. Jonathan scowled at it. That was a quite a bit of damage it had managed to miss out on. Jonathan dashed forward at the distracted beast and struck it. His blade made contact with the creatures flesh, hitting a weak point that cause a critical hit. It roared in defiance as Jonathan backed away from it. It pawed the ground before letting out two of its fireball attacks. As they hit, a burning feeling moved through his body. If it was not for the pain absorbers, he would have passed out from the pain for sure. “ALL RIGHT! THAT DOES IT! I AM READY FOR THIS THING TO BE DEAD ALREADY!” He looked over at Sey and nodded his approval to attack. He just wanted this thing dead so they could go back to Ali and finish their quest. It was quite boring so far as it just had been fighting monsters that took forever to kill.

Two more fire-based attacks, it was indeed getting very annoying. It was not getting to the point in which Sey would snap and actually lash out in such a brutal manner. But Jonathan's critical hits were serving to be really useful, the damage he inflicted showing a visible amount of health being dropped. Sweet, now Sey had a much better chance at taking down the annoying monster. "All right, I'm going in!" The Sentinel would announce before springing his legs forward, spear extended out towards the right side. His muscles tightened as he would begin to slash violently through the core of the monster, lowing it's yellow health bar to the danger point of nearing the red zone. With that said and done, he would then jump back before shaking his head, still feeling the burn on his body... Not the most comfortable feeling to say the least.

Jonathan watched as Sey, appearing to be fed up with the manticore, attacked hard with the little opportunity that he got. His attack brought the creature down into the critical health position. Jonathan clapped the man on before he raised his shield and began his attack. The creature had become much more fierce than previously, swiping at Jonathan with its claws. He did not manage to block the attack, a the claws sank through his chest like daggers. The blond growled, striking at its body once more. It roared as his weapon grazed its iron hard skin. With a backwards leap, it let out ANOTHER fire breath attack. Jonathan snarled as the flames licked his body and re-implemented his burn. The manticore roared in defiance at the players, as if it were still trying to scare them away. Jonathan looked over to Sey and asked, “We are getting close here, pretty soon and it will be a goner” Jonathan smiled wickedly and turned back to the manticore.

Manticore 153/647      50 Damage Mitigation / Accuracy: 3 / Evasion: 2 / 65 Basic Damage per hit / Tier 2 Burn Damage (on a successful non-critical hit after modifiers, except a natural 8,) [Deals 24 DMG for 2 turns]

In this case, Burn Damage does not stack but resets post count, while the normal attack damage combines into 80 normal damage; this value is then mitigatable

More annoying fire based attacks would be launched towards him. This time, he felt like he should try to take a chance and move at the manticore. With his spear held out, he would allow the metal to slide onto the rocky surface before letting it glow with blue light. However, he was unable to reach the monster in time before taking the hit of the fire, more damage being inflicted onto his own body before he would be knocked into the air, the burn damage taking another toll on his body as well. With that done, he would land back on his feet, his attack canceled and his intents, resulting in a failure. His lips would form a snarl as he was unable to carry out the attack. With that said, he would look to Jonathan. “Well, you know what to do… I’ll follow up right after ya after your move.

Jonathan watched as Sey kept moving forward, charging forward but the manticore had different plans. It roared in defiance at the players, dodging Sey, before backing away from him. It roared once more, and released two more fire breath attacks that would have turned him into a fried- Jon in a blanket if the game let him. He roared his outrage at the burning felling moving through his body. "Alright Sey, let's finish this thing off. I am tired of getting burned by this guy!" The blond charged forward, smashing his weapon into the side of the creature. As hard as it felt, he was surprised his weapon did not shatter upon impact, thanks to his iron-like pelt. He backed away, still unsatisfied with his damage that he was dealing. It was one thing that definitely needed to rise.

“H-How much fire does this thing even have within itself!?” Sey would not so collectively exclaim, his eyes raising from the natural neutral position that the both of them usually ended up assuming. Jonathan told him that they could finish this, and while it did put a strain on his body to do that, he would continue to attack by slashing through them manticore at the core once again, feeling adrenaline, or something close to it, rushing through his body as he would make each strike. The result was a success as he would eventually cut the health to a few pixels. It was an evasive beast without a doubt, but that was nothing big of a problem considering his accuracy gear on his being. With that, he would then jump back, not really interested in taking another fire-based attack to his body, he felt like the effects of the burns were going to be long-lasting.

Jonathan heard Sey exclaim behind him the raw amount of health the creature had. "This quest is definitely not for those that don't have a tank, or have quite a high amount of health. I hope the rewards are worth it!" Sey's attacks were amazing, but to his lack of damage, the man could not add in enough. Jonathan grimaced as he looked at the almost dead creature. "I will try to finish it off, but don't get your hopes up to high!" Jonathan charged forward and noticed the creature was backing away, trying to prevent itself from being hit. He slashed at his target, but the creature was much too fast for his attack. It dodged the attack and countered with its claws, slicing through his chest twice before growling and backing away. "It has gone into some sort of protective stance that will be hard to get through! One more hit, and I am sure you got it though!"
