He nodded at Cordelia “Good.” he replied to her being fine, it was nice that nothing bad had happened from that. She went in and cut down one of the larger guard ants with one remaining. It went after Macradon, but his sword was easily able to sway it from actually closing in. He used it as a spear to keep it at bay, keeping it from doing anything, but in turn also unable to actually fight back. “I have to take the initiative …” he thought and halted the charade of distance keeping.

He launched forwards with his blade trailing behind him as he closed up towards the giant insect. With a quick swing, Macradon began his <Scooped> sword art but was quickly stopped as the tough carapace wasn’t just on top, but also on the bottom of the creature. His attack bounced off, as if it didn’t have enough power in it. “Dangit!” he exclaimed “I think you have to do it!”.

Cordelia chuckled to herself. Looks like she wasn't the only one. That made her feel a tiny bit better. "Alright, it's fine!" She exclaimed, darting towards the last and remaining guard with her katana. She activated Hakku Senpu, and her blade tore through the outer shell of the ant like a hot knife to butter-- which was actually strangely satisfying in a way now that she thought about it.

Cordelia watched as the insect disappeared in a flurry of blue shapes before those too, vanished. She looked over to Macradon an grinned. "Now for the big bad boss, right?" She asked. No doubt it was going to be some sort of queen bee. It was expected. There were guard ants for a reason. What else would they guard? Money? She thought not! Though, she wasn't totally against that idea. She was all down for a massive Col reward! Heck, she was sure anyone was.

Cordelia managed to take out the last remaining guard, but right as she finished it off, the queen ant began to move, not slowly like you think a giant kaiju would, not this queen ant was really big but still really nimble. The queen charged in at Macradon and Cordelia, giving them near to no time to react after their concluded battle with the guards. “Damn, she’s fast!” he exclaimed and held his blade up, he set himself into stance with his sword laying down behind him.

He didn’t have the distance to charge in at the queen, so all he could do was to fight head on. He quickly jumped up in the air, timing it as perfectly as he could with his downwards momentum striking down onto the queen ant. The attack went through like any other and slammed into the ground below. A faint feeling an earthquake could be felt by those surrounding him, the force behind that strike, even if not <Charge> boosted, was one heck of a strike. “Let’s get this queen slain!” he exclaimed as a battle roar for the final battle.

Cordelia nodded at his enthusiasm for the battle before looking back at the Queen Ant. So she was right. "Alright, you've already got it down by quite a lot, that's good," Cordelia sniffed, giving Macradon an exhilarated grin before dashing off towards the giant bee.

And damn, Macradon was not kidding when he said she was fast. Cordelia's blade missed by a longshot as the queen swerved out of the way. Even with all the buffs she consumed, she couldn't really compete with sheer dumb luck that. Damn. Unfortunately, she can't compete with the power of Lady Luck, although she wished she could.

Cordelia groaned. "Sorry about that, I'll get her next time, I swear." She shook her head in disappointment. Another miss. She never thought that it would happen so close to the last one. Man, her luck seemed to be getting worse and worse every time she did a long battle.

His initial hit against the ant queen was strong and dealt a chunk of its health, but unfortunately with an opener like that, Cordelia was not capable of landing a hit. A slight miscalculation in trajectory and movement was probably what made Cordelia miss her attack, it was acceptable and not that big of a problem, as this big beast didn’t really face any threat for the two of them. “It’s alright, we can handle a little hiccup!” he said and got ready for another attack.

In a quick motion, Macradon moved down below the giant legs and mandible of the beast and unleashed his upwards <Galaxy Destroyer>, cleaving a good chunk into the queen ant through its abdomen and exposed thorax. “She seems to be very weak down here. With exposed acid glands on her thorax, it’s unlikely to be covered in any armor to stop our attacks!” he called out to Cordelia, perhaps with this information she could form a strategy to land a hit.

Cordelia nodded to his bit of information. "Got it!"

Cordelia gave Macradon a thumbs up as she watched him deliver another devastating blow to the Queen Ant. "We're almost there!" She exclaimed out loud, dashing in for another San Ge attack. Haunted Verdict seemed to have finally heard her constant begging and decided to activate its Holy. Which-- thank God-- was a total life saver. Cordelia dove underneath the ant, driving her katana up the thorax of the bug. The girl's teeth gritted together as she finally withdrew her katana from the ant's body. She tumbled back on to her feet and let out a happy exhale as she watched its HP plummet.

"That should be enough to kill it! Any attack from either of us should be able to kill it," she informed Macradon, cocking her head over to the other white-haired player. Oh lord, she was so ready to collapse on her bed after this fight.

Cordelia quickly adapted to the situation and dove down with her blade. Skillfully she drew her blade up at the giant ant’s body, and with her blade’s bright holy glow, she chunked out a lot of damage towards the ant, leaving it at a health where any attack from either of them should be enough to end it and let them clear the dungeon. They were indeed so close to getting this over with, and all they needed to do was to land a hit …

Much more simple said than done. The great ant screeched in pain from the incoming holy blade’s cut into its body. It jumped away like a locust and landed far from the two players, giving them near to no reach to get to it. They had to engage, and it could simply just dodge it. Macradon gritted his teeth and rushed in, so close, they were so close. He drew his blade and cleaved out at the ant, but as he had foreseen, it merely dodged. "Damnit!" he roared "Try to catch it while it's jumping!" he called out to Cordelia.

"God damn it!" Cordelia shouted, wanting so desperately to snap her katana right in half like a tiny little toothpicl.

Alas, it seemed the universe wanted to screw her over in the ass tonight. Who needs a nice deserving nap? Not her! This was probably one of the most frustrating fights she had ever been in. No, this was worse than the time she did a dungeon with Baldur. She could practically just taste the victory. It was right there. That's what was making it so torturous. 

Cordelia dragged her palms down the sides of her face in anguish. "I just want this to be over," she drawled dramatically. Both hers and Macradon's attacks have missed, and the queen has yet to hit any of them. It was like a never ending game of cat and mouse! She wanted it to end though. She wanted it to end right now!

He looked over at the ant and its new trajectory after Cordelia missed it again, it was like a new phase where this big ant just went all hype after they’ve depleted so much of its health, it was weird, sub-dungeon bosses didn’t have phase shifts … or was that a new thing? He could ponder, but that wouldn’t help right now. “SAAMEEE!” he groaned loudly, he also wanted this to be over with, but it just wasn’t that easy. It was easy enough to say that they ‘just’ needed to hit it, but that was way easier said than done as the two had just displayed.

With the ant not getting hit by Cordelia, Macradon tried to close in and get a hit to the ant, but to no avail yet again. He missed it, just like he had done before, it was too fast to properly predict, and it reacted with reflexes beyond the two’s speed with their attacks. They either had to trick the ant or just attack nonstop ...

"Lord, I'm going to jump off a cliff right now and you wouldn't be able to stop me," she whispered, wanting to curl up into a tiny little ball in a dark corner and sob her eyes out. "Let me die," she wailed, "I long for the sweet release of death!" 

Cordelia composed herself rather quickly. It was days like this where she wondered if she had stayed home. You know, she wouldn't have to go through all of this if she had just stayed home. She inhaled. Yeah, this thing was going to die or she was going to die trying to kill it.

Putting all the tension into her sword, Cordelia lunged at the Queen ant. And let's just say, the final kill was a bit too graphic. Actually, it was very graphic, but that's what happens when you make a girl wait too long, I guess. 

With the ant long gone, Cordelia fell to her knees and sobbed. "I don't think I'll be the same after this," she exclaimed, salty tears running down her face as she face planted into the ground, her sobs still heard, though muffled.

She did it, she finally did it! Cordelia was swift and somehow managed to sneak a good holy strike in at the Queen Ant, taking it health down to 0 like a champ. “Yes! YEEESSS!” he celebrated and fell to his knees, dropping whatever he had in his hands. “I can’t believe it took this long. I hated every bit of that ant queen fight.” he said, not physically exhausted, but mentally, like it had some toll on him. He fell to the ground and just groaned “Never again .. I hate sub-dungeons now, I don’t want to anymore, I’ll just .. not.” he said grumbling while laying on the cold ground.  “But at least we got some sweet loot out of it.” he said with a slight chortle “That’s the least we should get for getting through this grueling task!” he exclaimed and hit the ground hard with his fist.
