NIGHT 0 Posted May 7, 2020 Author #41 Report Share Posted May 7, 2020 The news came as a surprise to her, but not as much as the outburst of emotion that came from Yuki, as the woman poured her heart and soul out to the other about the truth. The truth... that the pink-haired paladin herself was transitioning. And NIGHT didn't have any words for that news. She let her friend, her ally, continue about her plight, all the while NIGHT turned her gaze away, scratching at the back of her neck. So that was the missing piece of information in light of today's conversations. And here she thought that, perhaps, the similarity that fell between them was in their sexualities. The player hadn't expected Yuki's queerness to extend even further than that. So of course she would hurt, the pain much more intense than NIGHT's own. In the face of a society that wouldn't accept any deviations, a community rigid in its expectations, it was inevitable for women like Yuki to find themselves struggling -- to fight for acceptance, to hide the truth of their dysphoria from the rest of the world. An extra layer on top of the mess that was life's dating game. How dissatisfactory, how unpalatable the discomfort was. Maybe Cupid shunned both of them all at once. "I don't think anyone will ever love me Night...I'll be alone... forever...." All that rested in NIGHT's throat were rocks. Her mouth tightened, grief for both herself and her friend simmering in the wake of their conversation. Pulling her gaze over to the pink-haired individual, the knight rose from her position, shuffling over to Yuki with a few steps. She didn't know how to comfort people at all. A few chimes of Cardinal's interface, and NIGHT summoned her jacket from her hold. All she knew to do was to drape her cover over her friend, and perhaps, offer her a better one -- a small black kitten from a bag she'd kept on the side. Nyanko landed on the table with a gentle plop, and immediately knew to get to work, prodding the upset woman gently with a batting of his little paws. Then, she took her leave. Out the kitchen, to the side of the hallway.
