[Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0]

Once again, the blonde found herself coming near the now familiar hunting grounds of the 21st floor. This time she had invited a dedicated tank to come with her to make things easier. Seeing Raidou's intention of joining the 25th floor boss fight, as a side objective she wanted to test his resolve and capabilities against some of the strongest mobs she could find on this floor. With those goals in mind, she started snacking on some consumables she had available to boost her stats. Taking a look around, she marveled how different this cavernous floor seemed now that she had the 'cat eyes' as one particularly nosy maid characterized it. The blonde allowed herself a smile while adjusting the gray cape she had equipped for this occasion; on the back side layed crossed out in red a part of her past (picture in the description). She felt a little exposed, replacing the crimson red cloak that was her go to armor when fighting with this one but she reminded herself that she did so in order to maximize her gains. With her white feathered spear in hand, she leaned against the cave entrance, examining her surrounding some more with her new 'eyes'.

[Raidou 1]

Upon a floor, he had frequented on the daily, the premise the same but the method differed. This was imparted to a discussion and a motive, to stave off issues that may arise during the act of trying to ascend the floors. For a war needed swords, and soldiers to carry them. A brilliant red tapestry broke through the glittering caves toward its major settlement: the town of Tomoika still ripe with activity. A meal already lined his belly, courtesy of the guild he would be prepared for anything that should come to pass. He found his compatriot waiting with a flare of her skill simply to enjoy the scenery. "Ariel." Raidou spoke but the single word in a soft tone, alerting him to his presence if she hadn't already been aware although he was taking no strides to hide his approach. He passes her a couple of portions that would bolster her gains just a tad further, for he would assist her in her endeavors today.

"Hey there!" came the quick reply from the blonde which accepted the items with a nod, them manifested a potion from her own inventory and gave it in exchange. "Arigatou....dozo...(thank you / have this)" were the simple words of gratitude that accompanied her actions. "Oh have this too!" she added, materializing the same stone she gave him a while back when they were ambushed by cultists. "You don't have the 'Night Vision' mod yet, right? Then you'll need this here... and for the 25th floor boss fight." she added in a more serious tone implying that, as discussed during the meeting, the mod was a must have for the raid or that she won't take 'no' for an answer. Her mood improved while reading the flavor text for the consumables she just received and started munching on the. "If you're ready setting up let's get to business." she added, as she motioned them to start heading inside the farming grounds.

Was he ready to jump into such an affair, he was not certain. It wasn't through fear but a calculated perspective of simply wishing none an untimed demise, he had given it some thought and he would do so only to protect those he would be charged but it was still an uneasy acceptance. Uncorking bottle of ivory fluid his familiar constricts and begins to shimmer under his clothing, as he feeds the bottle under his sleeve it consumes the liquid and begins to thicken. "Interesting indeed..." Raidou comments to the concealed entity having been bolstered by the produced liquid, seeming to bond with it as if a player had. "I will follow your lead, this will be a first for me." he comments to Ariel, his strength was bolstered and a new arm forged and sheathed he was gaining much more ground than he presumed he would in record time.

"Hmm?" came the unarticulated question from the blonde, accompanied by a raise eyebrow. She was observing Raidou pour the vial's content onto himself rather than traditionally drinking it. She'd apply potions and salves on her equipment in a similar fashion, when she was in a rush, so she didn't comment on the matter. Instead she focused on the 'road', trying not to slip and fall. In record time, they arrived at their destination where already a group of cave dwelling monsters decided to form an impromptu welcoming committee and greet them, violently. In an instant, Ariel materialized her weapon and assumed a visibly perfected attack stance: "Showtime!" she muttered before charging in, concentration on hitting all the four mobs at once via a wide horizontal slash... "Got'em!" she interjected with a tinge of relief in her tone. All her hits connected, successfully drawing the attention of all the eight legged creatures. So far so good, the initial attack was the part that the blonde was most worried about; from here on its was just smooth sailing.

[Raidou 1]

Ripping a newly forged blade from its sheath, a pulse of yellowed light as it's drawn to the side. This one was longer and heavier but still, he could control it in one hand, although the act of drawing it would take some getting used to given its mounting on his back. A sudden flash as the blade hums, a razor-sharp edge before he rips forward unhindered by its weight. Tearing a burning line through the area multiple times it does a part to glass the earth beneath it. All are trapped within the blast in a sudden spark of luminosity after his blade falls, the assistance from the system fades with the reddened fumes of his hatred bleeding from his body. The pops and hisses as they take ire to his aggression virtually blind to Ariel being present, still steaming from the damage they had just been spoon-fed. They leap and attempt to pin the swordsman down. He pivots and turns, they latch on to nothing more than his robe and cannot find a footing the last connecting with only his steel. He felt faster and stronger than he has ever.

Finishing her attack, she took the opportunity to glance behind and nimbly moved out of the way when Raidou used an area type attack. The blonde raised both her eyebrows in surprise at the amount of damage done so far. She was well aware of the lack of attack power that her weapon class had, she accepted that drawback when she first picked to switch to it from the rapier class. But even so, she couldn't help but feel a little jealous seeing him dish out that much damage at his level: she was equally impressed by the feat as well. "Ooo! Nice one!" came another involuntary onomatopoeia resulted from her sentiment. She took up arms once again and pressed on, unwilling to give the mobs not even a moment for a breather, usually the post-action delay would impede her to maintain the constant pressure but now there were two of them, and now the blonde would step in and activate her sword art as soon as Raidou's ended.

[Raidou 1]

A calm demeanor despite the creature's movements to tear at his HP pool, which was typical for him to keep a level head despite the heat of combat. "On to the next." Raidou prepared to tear away just enough of what they had left and set them up for Ariel, a burst of energy fueled his blade with intention. They would not get the opportunity to rebuttal this time, Ariel would make sure of it. A wide swipe blindsides them while they lunge for him, knocking them asunder with a burst of energy and a crash that rings something close to thunder. They scatter to the floor, concussed from the sudden energy as they struggle to stand. "I trust you'll clean up the trash." Raidou comments flipping his grip on his weapon and taking a more passive stance, adjusting his glasses as he knew the fight was already long over.

A bright flash and all the mobs remained grounded and with a low amount of health to boot. Once again, she readied her weapon but before she attacked, she turned towards Raidou who was already assuming a triumphant position: "Are you sure you're not confusing me with Claudia?" she replied with a cheeky tone before dashing towards the mobs. With a predatory look in her eyes, she executed a pole vault and kicked the mobs until they were all in a straight like. The coup-de-grace came in form of a final thrust that had her long spear skewer through all four of their opponents. Her weapon briefly took the appearance of a barbeque snack before the mobs, reaching the end of their usefulness, exploded in the familiar death animation; removing the extra weight off the blonde's spear. She gave it a elegant flourish, as if to remove blood off her weapon then gave a small bow: "Was that to your liking, goshujin-sama?" she added with a smile.

[Raidou 1]

A moment of pause as Ariel tears the sundered beasts to pieces with one powerful impale after taking them in a line with a rather large golden colored polearm in a quick and clean tear, Raidou recovers just a tad bit of energy while he waits for her to mop up the remaining bit of health, she easily had this handled. "Hardly, if anything you are the master here. But Claudia has her strengths as well." Raidou remarked with a rather plain look upon his face, he had not a sense of humor to speak of so he took it heavily, seriously. A check to his screens as he opens his HUD, he checks his energy pool and confirms he had sustained no damage. "I am good, you are fine I presume?" he asked but assumed he had already the answer, she was much higher level and more than likely would need a break later than he.

"I'm just getting warmed up!" claimed the blonde as she made a pose with her right fist towards the roof and her left hand around her biceps, trying to imitate an old pin up she saw. "I'm joking, loosen up a bit. Look!" she pointed at her full HP bar above her head. "We only used a little energy so far. This is already going better than anything I tried before." the cheerful tone of her voice getting mixed up with the sound of scrapings against rock, which started echoing and slowly drowned the blonde's words. "Round two then." she added, materializing her weapon once again. As soon as the new mobs made themselves visible, Ariel repeated her initial move once more. She charged at then and concentrated on hitting her targets, this time aiming a little lower to hopefully sweep them off their feet. She had various degrees of success, but most importantly, all her hits connected.

[Raidou 1]

The weapon that was slack in his hands instantly takes to a firm grip, the elongated blade charged with light as Ariel begins to rip away at the creatures. loosen up a bit the words raced through his head, he didn't know how to interpret them into function. With his blade primed and roaring to go Raidou leaps up to gain momentum before shifting in the air, letting rip an arc that when it collides with the ground a flash of light like a flashbang pops free. It cleaves directly through one of them, but none can escape the blast leaving them slightly charred and steaming. They hiss and turn toward Ariel before their eyes start to cloud over, losing sight of her amongst the crags of stone. A reddened aura still vaporizing from his back "Not likely, but you're more than welcome to try." Raidou remarks as they turn to face that was in focus. They leap and with clicking fangs and sharpened legs slash and bite at him, but standing stalwart in the center as they try with repeated parries in a shower of sparks his defense completely outmatched their attempts despite the fact they outnumbered him.

She witnessed once again how Raidou masterfully evaded the invasion of attack that came from the multiple appendices and directions. 'Like flowing water' she was reminded of the expression used by her grandfather when she was training under him, later on the expression was adopted by her gaijin father and used in her fencing training. She was unsure if he received similar training or was doing it unconsciously while pushing the game's mechanics to the limits, in his favor. She cracked a smile as he began showing combat prowess alongside wits and intelligence. Shaking her head, the blonde readied herself to switch with him once more, coining the thought of asking him about his background for another time. Executing a 360º spin she once more managed to hit all four opponents consecutively, cutting some of their multiple members. [Raidou 1]

He was burning the candle at both ends, as the total defense along with attacking was doing quite a number on his available energy. But he would spend every last drop while the hostiles remained standing, and as expected the woman had little issue ripping through the things health with the snapping of the carapace with one mighty sweep. "I am running a bit low, lets finish this I apologize for slowing you down." Raidou exclaimed with his blade engulfing and with a slide of his feet, he turns his back toward the creatures who perceive it as an opening. This draws them in and a quick pivot and overhead swing slams the blade into the ground with a clap of light that sends them scattering around and destroying their ability to resist. The ground a burn mark, Raidou exhales sharply with a calm collection attempting to still his breath as the cardinal was trying to tell him he was running on empty.

"Don't worry I'll finish them off for us!" she replied with little concern, focusing on the four targets laying on the floor once again thanks to Raidou. "To think that with bringing another player, things can go this smooth.." muttered the blonde, self-reflecting. Same as before she executed a series of pole vaults and kicks, placing the pieces in the right position and once again skewered the bodies of the immobile spiders, bathing again in their pixelated death animation with a content expression. "I figured you'd have to play a pretty big toll to dish out that as much area damage as me. Judging by the consumption rate you must use almost two times energy more than me per sword art." she adds with a mischievous smile: "This is what happens when you try to impress a girl." Once again, she went through the loot and made a tally of what they got this time around.

[Raidou 1]

With the targets now destroyed, Raidou takes a seat allowing him to begin to refuel his burned energy. He sets the sword down beside him as the light that usually plays upon it dims "Tends to chunk away quite a lot of my energy. Need to do something to weaken how much it drains." he spoke in response as Ariel tore apart that which remains, leaving a shimmer of blue data glimmering outward. There were some gains left behind, that updated to Ariel. The last comment passes through unhindered, it was an attempt to embarrass him but he was rather indifferent to it unsure how to respond other than a forced cough and adjusting his glasses on his face. Ariel was a rather alluring person and her beauty to most would be obvious. But to Raidou he was hardly focusing on the fact, simply doing his part without taking gender into account.

She sheepishly eyes him, examining his expression for some kind of reaction. She enjoyed the casual teasing and watching how others dealt with it. Some would blush, others would react in a cheeky fashion but Raidou however did well to appear pretty much unfazed apart from a cough. She slightly pouted as she added: "mou.. you're no fun at all, Raidou-kun!" the, rather cute, reaction resulting after her womanly pride took a hit, just now. She materialized some of the palmiers he handed her earlier and started nibbling on one like a squirrel, it didn't take long to finish it. She quickly recovered and after finishing the impromptu snack, she asked with a downcast gaze, the corner of her mouth slightly upturned: "I was really surprised to see you at the meeting. You didn't really struck me as someone wanting to join the boss fight, the first time we meet. What made you come to that decission?" she asked, out of pure curiosity.

Allowing his energy to tick upwards albeit slowly he took a breather, while Ariel lined her belly and kept the buff applied. "I know." Raidou remarked at the principle rather plainly, he had never been one to respond correctly in situations but now he let it wash over him instead of worrying about it as he had prior. "It was always the intention, this place is a mental prison. This is nothing more than a war with two opposing sides. We wish to escape then we need to stand together and fight against the army of the cardinal system, and war needs soldiers. We need numbers and arms for them to carry. It was less of a decision made and one simply substantiated from the announcement, but I had never felt more out of place. I am not one for pleasantry or revelry or one to attempt to enjoy this experience so I have trouble understanding those who do." to him this was no game, it was an iron cage with no keyhole filled with multiple parties that without the ability to push at the walls in tandem it would never burst.

Listening to him, the blonde couldn't help but maintain a surprised expression, her mouth slightly agape for a moment before she forced it shut, after becoming self-conscious about it. She was expecting an answer that she'd need to rummage through to understand the meaning but to her surprise, his words made perfect sense to the blonde. A first for her when it came dealing with him. She'd nod, relating with most of what he said but having to add something as well. "If only more people would think along those lines... from my experience, most people would rather wait inside the safe havens and wait for the frontliners to clear the game, like it doesn't involve them." she'd understand the impulse to stay safe and not put yourself in face of danger but what irked her was the fact that those same people would pressure the ones putting their lives at risk or blame them for the slow progress.

"But it does! and everyone's contribution would speed up the process of clearing floors!" she added, her spirit heating up. She let a long sigh then continued: "At the end of the day, it is a fabricated world. But..." she locked eyes with him, her expression serious as she continued: "due to various circumstances, for some people, this fabricated world is more real and pleasant that reality. It is not up to us to judge them for that, which would also be a waste of time."

It seems his motives were clear, to his surprise she reciprocated them perfectly as if he had spoken not in his usual tongues. It was strange having someone understand him, his intentions. "It is foolish to expect something but do the opposite. To those that deem this as a reality and chose to stand beside conflict but attempt to dictate it, or those who would accept this folly when others are being slain are simply blind to reality. I suppose it is a waste of time to attempt to offer a verdict on their actions, but I would be hesitant to say that I condone choosing this over the real world when being in here means that some would be laid to rest..." Raidou comments removing his glasses and with his eyes shut begins to clean them on the red tapestry adorning his person. Replacing them and looking to Ariels silver with his own amber eyes "People need to wise up, stop hiding and stand with those who wish to escape. They need training and support and even to the lowest player I would say that level is just a number, a part can be played regardless."
