I think anyone stupid enough to be caught doing that would be dealt with by the frontliners themselves." that's right, while they continued their work for the greater good, anyone trying to impede the clearers' efforts, would be dealt with accordingly. She disengaged that train of thought, feeling how old memories on the topic were about to surface. She focused on mind on Raidou's words and nodded. "Couldn't have said it better myself! any help is better than none. That's one of the reasons I'm here, doing this with you." she let out a smile as she revealed her immediate goal. "I want get enough money, to open a martial arts school!" She came to a sudden stop and turned towards a wall near them, her eyes flashed as she made use of the entirety of her Searching skill and its mods. Ariel then extended her hand and felt the wall, at first all it meet was solid rock but as she moved it a little more to her left.. something audibly clicked. "A hidden passageway!" claimed the blonde, proud that once again she lived up to her scout title. She turned her head towards Raidou: "We'll have to visit this after we finish our business here, ideally with a larger group!" she then pulled out a piece of paper from her inventory and marked the coordinates. 3rd post OOC: Energy fully restored! Raidou 1 Posted June 23, 2020 #22 Report Share Posted June 23, 2020 Raidou recovers full EN (3 OOC posts) Raidou agreed relatively with Ariel's insight, as they were not directly hindering the progression but he was not convinced that "Perhaps but wouldn't the lack of action have some detriment to those that would. Extra hands tend to have a benefit where those that had become complacent would not offer. Any extremists that would directly wish to slow progression would meet the end of my blade. I hope you understand, I will not accept someone who would do that." A regularly quiet appearance seems almost dark with this statement, a bit of his hatred bleeding off his body with his bout of anger through mirrored lenses that hid the flare of energy in his eyes. A martial arts school... Raidou thought to himself in silence, a flashback to a wooden structure with flailing appendages with force tossing about bodies in fury in hostility and inflated feelings of pride galavanting a sense of superiority. He snaps back to reality as Ariel discovers a concealed walkway, scrawling it to a slip of parchment with a flash of her skill. "When we are better prepared for such an endeavor it may be fruitful." At one point, she'll have to scout parties and actually explore them. Coining that thought for another time, she resumed her healthy... discussion? debate? whatever they were doing. "But we can't force anyone to do something they don't want to do. If they won't help, I'd rather have them stay out of the way of those putting an effort." with a sad smile, she nodded. "I think most of the frontliners share your sentiment in that regard. I personally would prefer to capture and imprison them in the Black Iron Palace dungeons. As hard as that is to do..." saying that, she can't remember the last time such a thing happened. Dusting off her hands by gently clapping, she takes a look at their status bars. Both of them had recovered their energy and the blonde was itching to continue the fighting. Discussing these themes was fun in itself, but she would rather not get distracted from the main objective. His energy had been recovered to full and efficient use of time beckoned them to return to the main goal. "I'll do my best." he said rather plainly, humility disabled any ego that would grow. With a wide cleave, Ariel dealt her damage in a gruesome sweep, Raidou following behind her with a burst of yellow of his own shredding through their HP alongside her. A pulse of red tore at their senses as expected and with them focusing upon him, he flips his grip and parries every blow that comes in. The blonde watched Raidou finish his attack, between the two of them having reduced their opponents HPs by around half with one attack each. On top of that the highly agile tank was dodging all the attacks that were coming in his direction with little effort. Observing him move, she couldn't shake the feeling that this was more than the system working in his favor. Mostly she watched his footwork as from her experience, a majority of the the players had little to no training in real life. Thus unaware of the great advantage that proper footwork gave you be it in the dojo or even in your daily life. Those weren't the steps of a shut-in bookworm, that the blonde though Raidou was when they first meet. She'd once again lunge ain and repeat the previous attack making sure to diligently do her part of work, via the minimum amount of moves without expending precious energy. Trying the best their A.I. would allow picking Ariel out to no avail as his effects continue to glaze their vision into a fading fog. "Not going to happen, your target is me." as Raidou analyzed his opponents and noticing the attempts, unleashing a blow meant to further suppress them and damage their stances. The blade tears through two before the next in sequence lifts a sharpened leg and the blade screeches to a halt. A crash in sparks as the sword art fades out, Raidou pivots and shifts his feet as those that still stood attempt to assail him. Clouding around his feet as they slide, tufts of brown as both incoming blows clash upon his blade connecting with no part of him as moves into a defensive stance with a raised offhand. Her keen eye picking up more hints of his combat prowess through the finer details in his movement. As a kendoka and a professional fencer, these were near impossible for the blonde to miss as part of her training was trying to 'read out' her opponent before they even acted. "Not bad at all." she mused, loud enough to be heard before jumping into the fray once more. The fact that she was studying his moves transparent as her interest. She eyed the remaining spiders' heath bars and concluded that she still needed to apply the same art she used until now to finish them off. Unfortunately, it was only enough for half of the spiders. Despite managing to hit them all, two of the eight legged creatures survived with just a red slither of health. "Tsk!" She frowned as she looked at the mobs, then at her weapon. "They are predictable, their movements give them away." He comments unsure of the meaning she was trying to convey, taking a more passive approach given the goal was for the woman to finish them off. More attempts at on his life would be given no ground, easily rebuked off to the side with minimal movement and effort spent. Centered and focused entirely on what was happening he had not noticed Ariel studying the form, for when he was on the defensive the zones into the moment and allows it to drown out his thoughts and allowing instinct to control him. It was calculated and absolute but was also the reason why he needed an off tank to issue orders and the like as he would simply not be capable of doing such a thing and maintain his defenses. Quickly wanting to clean the garbage, she once again mentally perused through her weapon's sword art list this time trying hard to remember a low class area attack that would finish them both fast. She blinked twice as she pinpointed exactly what she needed, momentarily staggering as she tried to activated the sword art by doing the required pre-movement: "Let's see, if I remember it correct...." she felt the system assist kicking in, thrusting her forward at, as the name suggested, inhuman 'sonic' speed. Despite being the lowest rank sword art in her repertoire, it was one of the few that had a flashy effect and insane speed similar to the charge skill. She let out a red streak in a straight line behind her, as she pierced through both of the remaining targets: successfully achieving their goal of finishing off all mobs. But it was different, perhaps showing that no two players were entirely the same despite a shared weapon category. He still had energy left to spare but as first said, he would follow Ariel's lead. This was a new experience for him, and he was not one to allow it to go to his head and assume that the power he was wielding now did not come with some drawbacks and he'd not overextend himself into the unknown haphazardly. "That ends that lot." he comments with a flash of their data spreading around like festivities, still a rather plain and to the point tone to his voice. A silent hope his lack of a more outstanding personality wasn't irking her as it had so many others, but he wouldn't let this fear control his actions any longer. Link to post Share on other sites

"Umu!" she replied with a nod, finding the expression rather funny and quite versatile despite its simplicity. "Let's keep going then!" she added after quickly eyeing their energy reserves. Picking up the loot that the remaining mobs dropped, she noticed a item that was different than the usual rewards. Reading the content of the piece of paper, she smiled and waved it so that Raidou could see it too. "We got another dungeon's coordinates!" she chimed with a smile. Adding the sheet to the rest of the stack in her inventory, she looked for the next group mobs who fortunately were in sight of her charge range. Lowering her center of gravity she dashed forward like before and concentrated on kiting the mobs, removing a chunk of their health thanks to the reach of her spear. Stilled by the presence of combat, Raidou quickly follows behind Ariel's onslaught. "Right behind you." a rather plain comment spoken quickly as a diffuse and only to allow her to know he was at her side. A wide sweep of the broadsword connects with a twist of the hilt, pinpointed at the softened carapace of the newly aggro'd targets. As quickly as they are struck they lose the woman in a predatory drain on their vision pulses from Raidou's back. They turn and begin to assail the only clear player, to which he shifts his feet and with the flutter of a reddened cloak attacks against the incoming blows, halting them dead with no issue. The attacks cease and he flourishes his grip, a pulse of energy claiming the edge as its brought to neutral. Her disbelief being rebuked by the sight of their full health bars despite fighting for some time now with minimum rest period. And even those meant only to have them recover energy. Waiting for her skill to get off cooldown, she observes her tank counterpart that after a curt reminder of his presence took her place and became the focus point of the mobs; which yet again missed all their attempts to wound him. It was a pretty ridiculous situation already, or maybe this was how a couple of high tier frontline players usually did things. This was a pretty new experience for the blonde, fighting alongside someone like this, each doing the role they are good at. Raidou 1 Posted June 25, 2020 #34 Report Share Posted June 25, 2020 (edited) With the set up complete and another reduction in the beasts available leaving them in the orange, Raidou shifts tactics in a cold demeanor. Twisting the handle and using an overarching blow causing a thunderclap with a sudden impact. One manages to leap upward and latch to the ceiling, as the others are caught in the blast zone and scatter to the wind. It drops down after scurring above, directly above the red wanderer. Ripping the blade above him it lands along the blade, shifting his weight flings it off. He shifts and takes a deep breath, allowing a slight recovery of his energy but he was starting to be tapped out. "Running low." he pays a simple alert to his companion, to not overexert himself and be exposed was always the primary focus as to avoid things going awry. Most of the hostiles were reduced into critical threat, it wouldn't be long now. "I suppose, but I try to keep my head in the fray. I need to target the incoming attack and respond to it with my own. Despite perceptions, it requires all of my attention, I apologize for seeming abrasive. It was not my intention." he comments taking to a bit of the roughened ground under his red robe, with it offering comfort. Ariel ends them rightly with one quick slash and slices them in twain. His energy begins to tick up albeit slowly, was good that this ended when it did. A check over his HUD carefully and reading at his statistics to get the sense of his protection, running the numbers to confirm his defenses were still solid which he had not sustained even the slightest bit of damage. "Meikyo shisui." she then said almost unconsciously, his initial sentence propping that specific part of her teachings in her head. She sometime would find repeating the words as a mantra to help her reach that state. "We're different in that regard, I tend think less in combat. Trusting my body to subconsciously react the way it was trained throughout the years." she added, not really concerned about relieving a little more of her real life background. She know many treated such actions as talking about the outside as taboo but she would never understand why. She was pretty confident and secure with who she asked and when asked about more info she would gladly impart information that she deemed pertinent to the topic of conversation. "I understand that fully, a subconscious response for me would be much more...aggressive kyushu-jutsu. It takes convincing to aim to defend instead." he offers an explanation to his style since she offered her own, this is what people did right? He would need more time to rest, refilling slowly. He was slightly uncomfortable speaking about himself in such a way, but the feeling is quickly pushed through, out of respect. Fighting through memories of a time past of a male screaming is disdain, throwing fists and an exchange that ends not the way expected. A soft exhale as he pushed through the recall, fiddling with his glasses as he does when he needs to. There are a lot of people that take that skillset just for boxing or plain punching." She peeked at their stats, their blue bars still not filled so she would take the opportunity to verbalize the question she had on her mind. "You seem pretty confident and knowledgeable about it. More than the average person I mean. Did you by any chance trained in that style?" she looked to the side, already eyeing their next targets as the spiders spawned in a place that they've cleared not too long ago. "...if you don't mind me asking..." she added a bit hesitant afterwards. His bar was still regenerating so it was fine they were delving more into his past, it was rather jaded but he could speak of it if she wished. "You could say that I hate it but I am the heir of the Mugen Tenshin Dojo, it's barbaric and I cannot stand it. But I was taught it from a very young age most refer to it as the bladed fist." he was well versed on it, but there was a reason why his combat was not based around the Martial arts skill but he would be convinced he would be more effective using it. "I have perverted it by my father's words, which is what you're picking upon. To him I am a failure, disgracing the family name." the words hitched on his tongue in a bit of turbulence.
