She was obviously angry, her teeth grit tightly, she was prepared to unleash her favorite move, one she named: "Brilliant Storm", the first move she used on her own in SAO, against her first enemy, too. The kobold's health had barely dropped a pixel, so it swung around with its pick, throwing rocks to its left from dislodging the pick with an attack. Hikari immediately stepped back as she saw the monster's intention, their AI was programmed to learn moves and respond adequately, but, unlucky for them, their responses had a bit of lag on their side... Once the enemy was finished, Hikari sliced through every single part of the monster's model, finishing the move off with a slash to move behind it. By now, the monster knew "Skull Cracker" would be ineffective, so it went for a leg sweep instead, trying to knock Hikari to the ground. As soon as she saw the movement, Hikari jumped and stabbed the enemies snout with a "Linear" charged while jumping. With a disappointed look on her face, Hikari closed the empty HUD informing her the enemy didn't drop any scraps. She saw she was about halfway to level 4, so she tried to wait around for more kobolds to show up, looking a the shield she found before, she didn't even read its description. Name: Basic Shield Description: A basic shield for a beginner swordsman. Abilities: none What a disappointment, the shield was nothing more than a buckler, a circle of wood with iron in the center, connecting to the arm straps. Some kobolds showed up alone, two of them, to be exact. Hikari thought two shouldn't be that bad, since she could handle one no problem. While the other was still staggered, the second Kobold tried for an attack from the front, which Hikari blocked with her shield, unleashing "Linear" once again on the second Kobold. Now she had two kobolds on her, both of them ready to attack, one in front of her, and one on the left. Going towards the one on the left, Hikari quickly dashed behind it and slashed its back. Once again, while the first kobold is stunned, the second tried for an attack, though this time, Hikari Quickly dodged from the attack and performed her "Triangle Slash". Now that this kobold was on the ground recovering, she could move to the first one and try to finish it off. Hikari dashed to the kobold, quickly dodging a pickax from above while at the same time charging "Linear", unleashing it on the kobold once she was fully behind its back. The second one had already recovered so Hikari quickly closed the HUD that stated: "1x Iron Scrap" That would be two out of fifteen. The enemy charged at her, trying to bite her neck, Hikari quickly protected herself with her shield, using a bash to knock it away. The kobold then tried a move its brother didn't very much succeed in pulling off, "Skull Cracker", as soon as it jumped, Hikari quickly dashed below it, making it stick its pick in the ground. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Hikari quickly unleashed her favorite "Brilliant Storm". Let down, Hikari once again closed the empty HUD, the enemy dropped no scraps. She was almost to level four, which meant another skill point, Hikari decided beforehand that she needed to raise her One-Handed Straight Sword skill to gain more Abilities. While waiting for another kobold, she decided to check if the shops actually sold an anvil and hammer... much to her chagrin, the leaflet said nothing about that. After a few minutes, she decided to review the quest she received from "The Forger", as she had just accepted it without looking at the requirements. The quest clearly stated: "To Become a Blacksmith!" Requirements: Gather: 2/5 Iron Scraps Kill: 4/5 Kobold Miners Rewards: 1x Basic Blacksmith Hammer; 1x Basic Iron Anvil; 1-20x Random Forging Materials (OOC: The hammer and anvil just signify the ability to forge, they're not actual items, just flair) She felt so stupid, all this time she was trying to get the rewards a hell of a lot differently! Sighing, Hikari set out to find the rest of the materials she needed, after all, the kill would come included, right? As soon as she found her target, she immediately charged and slashed against it, oblivious of its brother just behind it. "Must have been distracted" Thought Hikari before jumping back immediately to avoid the second monster's slash. This would be risky. but she could try to distract one of them to finish off the other quicker. Hastily, she picked up a stone and threw it smack dab in the second kobold's snout, knocking it down momentarily, even though it didn't do any damage. Quickly, before it recovered, Hikari stabbed her sword into the first monster's back. She blocked with her shield right on time, taking just a bit of damage due to the shock, she then readied "Linear" while making sure the second kobold was not coming from behind her, unleashing it on the foe behind her shield. While the first kobold was still quite dazed, the second was up on its feet and ready to strike. Hikari thought about doing the same as before, but she remembered how their AI worked, so she knew it wouldn't work again. Quickly, she ran to second kobold shield first, knocking it down and giving her time to stab into it. The kobold steadied its pick on its side, where it began glowing a pale red, same as the other, and then unleashed it, making a circles with its ax while rotating. Hikari knew it was dangerous, it just needed to hit you once and you'd be trapped until the attack ended, causing massive amounts of damage. She immediately turned and ran to the first kobold, stabbing into it, hoping to use it as a distraction or even a shield. While they were both on the ground, she couldn't risk attacking one of them now since they're so close together. She needed to separate them, now. She did what she thought best, she grabbed the second kobold by its neck, throwing it just a bit away, just enough to stab into the first one, still on the ground stunned. She needed to come up with something better to do since they already knew of this attack. After rolling away, the kobold got back on its feet, away from the second one, and tried to do the same attack as the second one did before. Hikari wouldn't let it, she unleashed her own "Triangle Slash" on it as soon as she saw the gleam. Though Hikari managed to block it, once again, the shock of it caused her some damage. She sent away the second kobold, knocking it to the ground, although not stunned, and ran to first one, slashing its stomach while running behind it. Now with only the second kobold left, Hikari could focus much more easily. She closed the HUD with a snarl, it showed nothing, meaning the first kobold dropped no scraps, though she did notice she leveled up to level four, restoring the bit of HP she lost. The second kobold was now at striking distance, it also was wary of her, seeing how she'd attack. Though the next attack would be completely unpredictable. She charged up to her enemy, faked it out using a sword slash to its paws, then moved behind it and unleashed her "Brilliant Storm". She was enjoying this battle, the kobold, while not quite as fast as some other enemies, was pretty smart for a monster, and also powerful and had a lot of defense.Though she failed to notice until now, the kobold were very short, standing at about four feet, at max, which meant she was quite a bit taller than them, at about 5'6. While the enemy was stunned, she quickly took a look at their armor, simple leather armor and a helmet with a light on it, they were miners, after all. While she had finished the killing part of the quest, she still needed three more scraps. While the enemy was still stunned and on the ground, Hikari picked it up and stabbed it, allowing for no escape. She was struck in the right shin, making her unable to walk momentarily. Though luckily she didn't need to walk as she could roll. As soon as the kobold charged for her, Hikari quickly rolled to the right, getting on her knees and unleashing a "Linear" on the grounded coyote man.
